Fan Fiction ❯ Interitus ❯ The Mysterious Rider ( Chapter 6 )
Relena moved impatiently in her saddle. She checked her saddlebags and then glanced up at the swiftly rising sun and sighed. She hated wasting time. She looked up; there was Karagon, saddled up and ready to depart. They had been ready for 2 hours now. But Karagon had insisted that his friend joined them.
Now they waited for this mysterious person. Who was he? Relena thought. Over and over that question dwelled in her mind screaming to be answered. All she had gotten out of Karagon was "You will see." Relena looked at Karagon. Ever since the death of Korinth and Relena's outbreak Karagon had been unusually quiet and different. At first, Relena had been disgusted by Karagon's evil deed, but then she began to realize that Karagon was extremely upset as well. That was why she had forgiven him and agreed to accompany him on his journey to the Castificanima Vita Donare Springs, where the evil could be forgiven and cleansed, and where some say, the dead are raised.
"He's come." Karagon said abruptly, shocking Relena out of her thoughts.
Eagerly, Relena looked towards the distance where a cloud of dust had begun to grow. Who could he be? Where was he from? What did he look like? I wonder if he's single? Relena smiled sheepishly at that thought.
A mysterious rider came galloping in on a bright white horse, cloak swirling behind him. Strapped onto his back was a quiver full of arrows and a longbow. His face was hidden under the hood, causing Relena's curiosity to rise. The cloak was clasped together at the throat. On the clasp was the symbol of antlers, crossed by an arrow, backed by a green leaf. Relena sucked in a breath, the symbol of Natura; this meant that this man was a hunter, tracker and ranger.
The white horse reared into a halt before them.
"It is good to see you again Myr." Karagon said quietly.
Myr? What a queer name for a man, Relena thought.
"Relena, I't like you to meet my old friend Myr." Karagon announced.
"Hello." Said Relena.
Myr lifted a pale hand and pulled back his hood. Relena fought to sustain her gasp. His face was kind and noble. His emerald green eyes accented his pale face and blonde hair. But it wasn't his eyes, hair, or face that made Relena suddenly ashamed of her childish thought of wondering if he was single. It was something else that made Relena realize what he was. Myr was no man. Myr was an elf.
