"Time to get up." Alex said as he playfully kissed Brittany awake. She didn't move as she playfully pretended to still be asleep. "Well, if that won't wake you up..." Alex grinned evilly as he slowly reached beneath Brittany's nightgown and began to tenderly massage her breast with his hand. Brittany moaned with pleasure until finally she conceded as looked up at him.

"You don't play fair." She pouted. Even as she did she let out another moan as Alex slipped his hand into her panties.

"I don't have to." He whispered as he got back into bed and pulled the covers over both him and Brittany as her moans became louder. An hour and a half later both Alex and Brittany slowly walked outside to the enormous green field where the wolf demons were already practicing. Holly could be seen dodging attacks and showing how to counter them. Shadow was running along the sides of trees with wolves following in behind him. At first Brittany didn't know it was possible until she realized he was running by digging his claws into the bark of the tree and using that to propel himself to the next one. Kiba was sparring with one of the younger demons when he saw Alex and Brittany walk out. He smirked as he started to walk towards them, forgetting all about the demon he was fighting. It wasn't until he felt the wind behind him that he ducked to avoid claws decapitating him. Kiba back flipped over the demon, stuck his left foot out in front him, causing the other demon to trip. At the same time he struck the demon in the back of the head with his left palm, sending him crashing to the ground.

"A true warrior, never attacks someone from behind. That is a disgrace to both of them." Kiba said as he walked off leaving the demons he was with starring wide eyed at him. "Well, I was wondering what was taking you so long, but judging from the sounds coming from your room when I passed you were relieving some tension."

"Kiba, watch your tongue. I'd hate to have to rip it out." Alex replied with a smirk. Alex was wearing a sleeveless black shirt that zipped up in the front, black pants and black boots. "For your information, that was only to relieve some tension. I also had to help her with her battle uniform." As he said this he stepped aside so that Kiba could get a good look at her. She was wearing something similar to Alex's uniform. It was sleeveless, solid black that zipped up in the front and was very form fitting, she also had her hair tied back in a black ribbon. The only difference was that Brittany had two long black gloves that came to her elbows, but the fingertips had been cut off so in case she had to she could channel her healing powers through her fingers. Brittany hid back behind Alex as Kiba laughed.

"I do believe she is a bit shy." Kiba said with an amused expression on his face.

"I don't know why. She's beautiful, besides it looks great on her." Alex said as he reached behind him and pulled Brittany out in front of him. "Now, lets go see what you can do. Kiba, make sure to keep everyone on this side of the field. I don't know how well she can control her magic and wouldn't want anyone to get badly hurt."

"Yes my Lord." Kiba said as he turned to walk off. Brittany looked up at Alex with an exasperated look on her face.

"You do realize I look like a hooker in this right?" She asked with a serious expression on her face. Alex couldn't hide the smirk that spread across his face as he looked at her.

"I really don't see a problem with it. You look...well, you look really nice in it." Alex said with a shrug. "Besides, you'll want to be able to move around if you get into a fight. Also the material this is made out of his very durable. Also, no one here knows what a hooker is. You're my mate, which means first off, no one is going to look at you like that. Not that they wouldn't want to, but because I'd kill them if I did."

"Alex, don't joke like that!" Brittany exclaimed as she looked at him with shock.

"Who's joking?" Alex asked playfully. "Now, don't worry about how you look. I've seen more of you than that, and it really doesn't reveal anything, its just form fitting."
"Well, okay. Now what?" Brittany asked as Alex stopped to survey the land.

"Now, we see just what you've learned. I'm going to spar with you. I want you to use any and all magic you've learned. Barriers, curses, incantations, the works. I want to see if anything should happen if you can take care of yourself." Alex explained.

"Well shouldn't you show me how to use a sword and stuff also." Brittany suggested, noting the fact that in a barrel behind them were several weapons.

"Brittany, believe me. If a demon gets close enough that you can use a sword, you're already dead. Those weapons there aren't for fighting, they are for practice." Alex said looking at the barrel then back at her.

"Well why can't they be used for fighting?" Brittany asked.

"Fine, I'll show you." Alex said finally as he walked over to the barrel an took out a large broadsword. He swung it around with ease in one hand as he walked up to her. He raised it in his right hand and held out his left. "Watch." Brittany watched in horror, and just about closed her eyes when Alex brought the sword down onto his arm. As soon as it connected however, the sword's blade shattered.

"A demon's skin is nearly impenetrable. The only actually weapon that I believe could break through a demons skin, besides a demons claws, would be a weapon made out of the bones of demons. Still, those are very rare for only skilled mages, or blacksmiths could craft a weapon out of a demon's bone for the simple fact of how hard a demon's bone is." Alex explained. Brittany looked on in awe as she examined his arm.

"So that's the reason. I guess your right. There's no point in me learning how to sword fight if the sword would break on contact." Brittany agreed. "So, how exactly are we going to spar?"

"Well that's simple, I want you to defeat me." Alex said matter of factly as he walked away from Brittany, leaving about a twenty foot distance between them. "Use all the spells you have learned, trust me you'll need them."

"Wait, so you want me to attack you?" Brittany asked, sounding as if he was crazy.

"Well, I'd suggest you don't hesitate otherwise you could get hurt." Alex replied. Within a mere blink of an eye Alex was above Brittany, ready to strike at her. "Do not drop your guard, think on your feet. Your enemy will not wait for you to ready yourself."

Brittany looked up in shock and instinctively crossed her arms over her head to protect herself. "Gaia Shogai!" Brittany yelled as a barrier formed around her. Alex struck at the barrier and used to force of his attack to backflip away from her. He landed poised to strike again.

"Good, but now switch to the offensive magic. A barrier can be destroyed, but not if there's no one left alive to destroy it." Alex instructed. Even as he spoke he launched himself at her again. Brittany dropped her barrier and raised both her hands out in front of her.

"Jingoku Netsui!" Brittany recited, flames encircled around her hands, forming an enormous fireball. Brittany launched the fireball straight at the charging form of Alex. Alex smirked as the fireball rocketed towards him.

"Remember your own force can be turned back against you." Alex announced. He skidded to a halt even as the flame drew nearer. He held out both his hands as he recited his own spell. "Tejina Shogai." A light formed around Alex's hands as the fireball hit them. The fireball was immediately rebounded back at Brittany!

"Hono'o Ayatsuru." Brittany clapped her hands together, and just as the fireball was about to hit her she threw her hands to the side, causing the fireball to split in half and pass on either side of her. As soon as Brittany looked up however Alex was right in front of her, coming down at her with his claws.

"Never let your guard down." Alex instructed as he lunged at her.

"I didn't." Brittany replied calmly as she brought her hands back together, causing the two separate flames to come back together in front of her. Alex was barely able to hit the ground and jump into the air as the two flames exploded beneath him.

Damn, she's good. I can't believe how good she is, but considering the circumstance I guess it's only natural. Now let's take it up a notch. Alex thought as he started to descend towards her. Even as he did, Brittany cast another spell. "Hikaru Suisei!" A bright orb or energy was launched and aimed right for Alex. Alex spun his body around in mid air and caught the orb in his right hand as he cast his reflection spell again, sending the orb back at Brittany. Alex followed in the tail of the orb, preparing himself to strike. It was then that he noticed that Brittany's eyes were closed as she looked down in fear as the orb neared her. Dammit, why isn't she casting a barrier! Don't tell me she's froze up. NO!

"Brittany!" Alex yelled trying to snap her out of it. It was then that Alex saw Brittany's mouth form a smirk as she waved her hand. Suddenly the orb that Alex had used to hide his attack exploded in a flash of light. Alex flipped back as he covered his eyes in pain from the attack. The bright light had seriously blinded his vision, especially considering how powerful his eyesight was. Maybe she's a little too good. I can't believe she was pretending! How in the hell!

"Rule number one. Use your opponents weakness to your advantage. Let's face it you never could hurt me Alex." Brittany teased. "But since we're still sparring, I do believe I owe you an attack or two." Alex could hear the wind whistling off of something being lunged at him at great speeds. Alex swung his left arm, digging his claws into what he believed was a stone spike, and flinging it behind him. Even though his eyes hadn't healed yet, he could still hear the spikes as the rocketed past him. Alex destroyed several before his eyes sight finally returned.

"You're a bitch." Alex said finally as he looked at her. Brittany only smirked more as she innocently put her finger up to her lips.

"You told me to use every spell I knew. So now I'm showing you what I know." Brittany said defensively. Brittany then raised both her hands again and said a spell that Alex couldn't quite make out. Suddenly a bright light flashed from her hands as the winds began to wrap around her. Alex felt himself being pulled in towards her as the light around her hands began to glow. It was then that Alex realized which spell she was using.

"No Brittany stop! Your not ready for that spell!" Alex yelled. Alex could barely make out Brittany's face behind the blinding light, but he could tell she was in pain.

"Alex, I can't!" Brittany replied in a strained, panicked voice. "What's happening?"

"Shit, hold on!" Alex called. He held his right arm out to his side as he channeled as much of his demonic energy into it that he could spare. Just as he finished the bright light around Brittany's hands launched itself out as a beam towards Alex. Without any hesitation Alex launched himself at the beam of energy. Just as it was about to make contact Alex struck at the beam with his right arm. He launched blades of energy out of his hand which sliced through the beam creating a split it apart, creating an enormous explosion. Alex barely hit the ground before he launched himself at Brittany and caught her before she hit the ground. "Don't ever use that spell again! Do you hear me!"

Brittany was holding on to Alex tight as the color began to return to her cheeks. "What...what happened? That spell wasn't supposed to do that."

"That spell was one of the archmage's spells. I should've warned you, but I didn't even know you had learned that one. If your not careful, that spell will drain the life force out of you the way you were using it. That's what makes it so dangerous. For someone like you it’s a suicide attempt just to use it. You could've just died right now if I hadn't realized what was happening! You probably just exhausted most of your energy on that one spell. Don't ever be that reckless again! If I hadn't...just be more careful okay. Make sure to analyze the spell before you go and use it." Alex yelled. Even though he was yelling at her, Brittany could tell that it was because he was scared even though he didn't want to admit it. He was holding on to her just as tight as she was holding on to him. It wasn't until Kiba and the other demons ran around to the field where Alex and Brittany were practicing that Alex finally released her. He got up and walked over to a bucket of water that the soldiers kept to drink out of. He drew him a sip of water, but as soon as it entered his mouth he spit it back out. It was then that Brittany noticed that the water was tainted with the color of blood. Even as Kiba raced towards her to find out if she was okay Brittany was already making her way towards Alex.

"Alex...your arm...I'm so sorry." Brittany said quietly, noticing that Alex's arm was torn to shreds and bleeding uncontrollably. "Please, let me heal it for you."

"Do you even have enough strength to heal it?" Alex asked softly as he looked at her. No longer was there hate or anger in his eyes, but worry and fear. That spell shouldn't have hurt me. So how in the hell was it able to inflict so much damage to me, it doesn't make sense. "If not, it will heal on its own eventually."

"You don't have to worry about me! I'm fine, you’re the one that's hurt! I can see the bones in your arm Alex! That's not okay!" Brittany yelled even as a few stray tears fell down her cheek. " Just let me heal it okay."

"Fine if it means that much to you." Alex replied as he slowly held out his right arm to her. Brittany gently took hold of it and placed her other hand on top of it. Both her hands, and Alex's arm began to glow as his arm began to repair itself. Brittany realized that it took longer for her powers to heal his arm than it usually would have. Soon the light dispersed and Brittany removed her hands his arm was completely healed. All the while Alex's mind was racing, trying to figure out why a spell that wasn't suppose to do anything, was able to hurt him.

"There, you see all better." Brittany said brightly. Even Alex smiled a little bit, that is, until he looked to the horizon. His eyes hardened as Kiba ran up to him.

"Looks like you just about got beat my a mere girl my Lord. Are you sure your okay?" Kiba asked with a smirk. As soon as he got close enough to see Alex's serious expression his smirk left as he turned to look in the direction that Alex was. Kiba's expression then mimicked Alex's as he looked back at his Lord. "What do you want me to do about them?"

"Brittany, I want you to go up to our bedroom and stay in there okay. It seems, there is something I must take care of." Alex said, indicating to the procession of mages making their way to the castle. "Kiba, get the troops inside I'll deal with them."

"Yes my Lord." Kiba replied as he glanced back at Alex and Brittany before doing what he was ordered. Brittany looked up at Alex but he wasn't paying any attention to her. His eyes and face had become as hard and cold as stone as he starred at the mages. Finally Brittany turned away from him and walked towards Rylus who had been waiting for her. "Hey, are you okay? What was that huge explosion that everyone heard?"

"I'm not quite sure." Brittany replied softly as she looked back at Alex who was still starring at the mages who by now were almost upon him. Brittany then continued to walk off with Rylus to the castle.
