Brittany was in awe of all the colorful decorations that took her breath away. There before her and Alex was a long elegant table decorated with a dark red table cloth. On either side of the table stood the highest order of the cleric council. They discarded their usual white garbs for more colorful and appropriate clothing for this event. Even the wolf demons, who also filled the room, were dressed in more elegant clothing than the battle armor they usually wore. The excitement and joy that filled the air when Alex and Brittany walked in was ecstatic as everyone stood in respect. It was obvious that despite everything that had happened everyone was trying their best to have a good time. Everyone was glad for the much needed distraction to take their minds away from all the horrors they had recently endured. Both Alex and Brittany were obviously surprised by the reception as they looked awkwardly around to see where they were supposed to go.
“Umm, Alex?” Brittany whispered as she leaned over towards him. “What are we supposed to do?”
“I don’t know. Don’t look at me! I told you I hated parties, now you see why.” Alex exclaimed in a low tone. Alex then saw a familiar sight out of the corner of his eye as Kiba walked up to them with a wide smirk on his face. Kiba was also dressed nicely in an all black ensemble. He bowed as he faced Alex and took Brittany’s hand and kissed it formally as he winked at the Lord.
“Your places are at the head of the table my Lord. You and the lady are the guest of honor this evening.” Kiba said with a mischievous look in his eyes. Alex became instantly suspicious of Kiba’s actions as he questioned him.
“Kiba what is all this? I was expecting a small, very quiet, party. Nothing nearly as extravagant as this!” Alex stated causing Kiba to chuckle softly.
“This my Lord, is an evening for everyone to unwind and relax, including yourself.” Kiba said softly. “Both you and the lass have had a lot to deal with lately. You need to rest and have some fun tonight. It won’t kill you to actually smile and enjoy yourself. You have a beautiful lady by your side, everyone here is to see you and her dance and have fun. So I suggest you get the dinner over with and start the festivities.”
Alex was about to say something when Brittany leaned in closer and whispered into his ear. “Remember the deal...my Lord.” Brittany’s words sent shiver’s down Alex’s spine as he felt every inch of his body tingle with hidden desire. Alex nodded quickly as he put on his best smile and led Brittany towards the head of the table. He pulled out her chair for her and motioned for the clerics to sit. Alex noticed the Simera was sitting next to Brittany, with Rachel and Jessica on either side of her. The food was already on the table, and even though the demon’s had other tables set out for themselves. Alex saw Holly and Shadow come in and stand by Kiba, who was busy making sure everything was going well. Holly had changed and was wearing a tan dress that complimented her features well. Shadow was wearing an all black suit that seemed to blend in with his fur, all three of them looked curiously at Alex as he smiled and motioned for them to come over.
“Yes my Lord?” Kiba asked as he walked up beside Alex.
“Have a sit, all of you.” Alex said casually as he waved his hand towards the table motioning towards some empty seats.
“But my Lord, we have our own table to sit at.” Shadow quickly replied. Holly nodded too, but Alex only shook his head.
“No, you’re the ones that got me into this mess so you’re going to sit at my table wether you like it or not.” Alex said firmly. Brittany and Simera giggled as they overheard his conversation. Even the three demons were smiling as they conceded and sat them selves down at Alex’s table. Before the dinner could officially begin Alex stood up and raised his wine glass as he over looked the entire room.
“Tonight is to be a night of laughter and fun, for tomorrow and the days following it will be days of work.” Alex said as he motioned towards Simera. “For starting tomorrow we will personally be helping with the reconstruction of Medea.” Alex’s news shocked the crowd as Simera looked at him with question. Alex smiled as he nodded and titled his glass towards her. “That is, if their priestess will allow us to help them.”
All eyes turned to Simera who was now smiling brightly as she stood and bowed towards Alex. “My Lord, it would be my honor to have your help. We are already in your debt so much, I don’t know how to thank you for all your kindness.”
“Don’t thank him to much, he’s got a big enough ego as it is.” Kiba joked. The entire room burst into laughter as Alex bit his lower lip to restrain himself from commenting. Brittany’s laughter filled Alex’s ears as he looked over to her as his eyes lit up.
“Do not worry priestess about repaying my kindness, for I can assure you that my beautiful mate here will more than cover your debt later tonight.” Alex said as he took a sip of wine. Brittany’s face turned bright red as she stared open mouthed at Alex’s comment. The entire room burst out into another fit of laughter as Alex sat back down. “Now, let the festivities begin!”
The dinner was anything but gloomy as everyone chattered away joyously. Everyone was having a good time as listened to stories and laughed at the numerous jokes that were exchanged. Yet no one was able to take their eyes off of Alex and Brittany who were the main attraction of everyone’s attention. Even while they were talking to other’s Brittany was resting against Alex’s chest with his arms wrapped around her.
“I am glad to see that you and the Lord are so happy together.” Simera said with a coy smile as she sipped from her drink. “I had heard about what happened when the mages came. I was worried about you, but I am glad everything turned out for the best. It seems that you are better off now that you were before.”
Brittany and Alex exchanged knowing glances as Brittany nodded to Simera’s observation. “We’ve grown closer since you last saw us. After all that we’ve been through how couldn’t we?”
Kiba watched the couple with a soft smile on his lips, and left before dinner was over. Brittany asked where Kiba was going but Alex only shook his head in wonder. As soon as dinner was over the young couple got their answer as the clerics got up and left without a word heading in the same direction that Kiba had. Alex and Brittany both sat up as they watched the clerics leave. Even Simera had left without saying a word to them. Alex started to get up to follow them when Shadow placed his hands on Alex’s shoulders.
“My Lord, you must remain seated. It wouldn’t do for the guests of honor to leave before the fun has truly begun.” Shadow said in an impish voice. Alex and Brittany both looked at him with question until they heard a soft music that steadily grew louder. All eyes turned towards the sound of the music as the clerics appeared playing various instruments that gave off a soft, happy melody. Before Alex could protest the demon’s quickly moved away the tables and formed a circle around Alex and Brittany as the cleric’s soft melody continued.
“What’s going on here?” Alex asked even though he knew what everyone was up to.
“Well what does it look like my Lord?” Kiba asked as he stepped out from the shadows. “It’s time for the dancing to begin, and what better way than to have the Lord and lady start the dance off.”
Alex smirked as he nodded towards Kiba. Alex then turned towards Brittany bowed slightly as he gazed into her eyes. “May I have this dance?”
“You’re the only one I’d say yes to.” Brittany replied with a smile as she let Alex take her hand. Alex pulled her close to him as he kissed her passionately as the crowd watched in expectation. Alex began to slowly twirl Brittany around as they moved fluidly to the music. Everyone was mesmerized by the love and passion that seemed to radiate from the two lovers as they danced about the floor oblivious to everyone else. Shadow had his arm wrapped around Holly as they watched Alex and Brittany dance. Before either one knew what happened Kiba gave them a soft shove onto the dance floor as he winked at them.
“Tonight everyone has fun. So get out there and have some fun.” Kiba said enthusiastically as Shadow chuckled and began to dance with Holly. Soon everyone was dancing, including the clerics. Their instruments remained suspended in air by magic as they played themselves. It was if all time stopped as the couples danced on the floor. Still, even as they danced, their eyes slowly drifted towards Alex and Brittany who danced as if they hadn’t a care in the world. Neither one of their gazes faltered as they had eyes only for each other. When the music finally stopped and the dancing ceased Alex held Brittany close to him as he turned to face everyone.
“I must admit this evening has been wonderful, but still I’m afraid this must come to an end. I for one need some sleep that is...” Alex said as he looked down at Brittany who had rested her head on his shoulders and looked up at him with a coy smile. “, after someone keeps up their end of the bargain. Still, I want to thank you all for making this an evening that shall truly be remember. There is however, one person who I believe deserves a special thank you. Kiba, would you please come here.”
Everyone grew silent as Kiba slowly walked towards Alex as he looked at Alex with suspicion. “Kiba, you are my most faithful friend. You have always been there when I have truly needed you, for that I thank you. To be truly honest, I’m not sure how to repay all you have done, that is why I asked for a little assistance. I have talked this over with Simera, and if you like, we have decided to rename Medea to Celeste, in honor of the woman who made you the person you are today.”
Kiba stared at Alex in shock at what Alex proposed. Kiba’s shock soon turned into a wide grin as he grasped Alex’s hand and patted him on the back. “My Lord, you have just made an old demon very happy. Celeste would love it, I’m sure she would.” The sincerity in Kiba’s words was astounding as tears came to his eyes. Alex shook his head softly to avoid getting caught up in all the emotion. When he looked back up Kiba was very excited as he thanked Alex once again and hurried to go thank Simera. Everyone was now talking amongst their selves about all that had conspired that evening.
“That was really nice what you did for Kiba.” Brittany said as she smiled up at Alex. Before Alex could reply Brittany kissed him gently on the lips and ran her hand across his chest. “So, did you have fun tonight?”
“More fun that even I thought possible.” Alex said looking down at her. “Something tell’s me I’m in for even more fun later tonight.” Brittany smiled coyly as she looked around the room.
“Do you think anyone would miss us?” Brittany asked innocently. Alex smiled as he wrapped his arms around her, kissed her, and spun her in mid air.
“As far as I’m concerned, we’ve already left.” Alex whispered. Without a second thought both of them quietly made their exit as they headed towards their bedroom. As soon as Alex shut the door to their room, both of them began stripping immediately, not wasting a second. Both of them were filled with lust as they eagerly moved into a fast pace. Alex moved faster and harder than he ever had before, and even though Brittany was filled with pleasure, she was also filled with pain. Brittany closed her eyes as she moan in pure ecstasy at all that Alex was doing to her. They were lost in the moment, but soon Brittany realized how hard Alex was really moving as she opened up her eyes to look at him. Brittany’s eyes widened in fear and in pain as she realized that Alex’s eyes were completely white, and dark red marks started to cover the front of his face. Alex’s lips were locked in a devilish grin as a low guttural growl formed in his throat.
“Alex...Alex!” Brittany called, trying to snap him out of whatever was taking hold of him. Please God, stop! Alex said he was afraid he might one day lose control, but I didn’t know what he meant! This is bad, he’s really starting to hurt me. I can barely stand it any longer! “Alex stop you’re hurting me! Alex !”
Still Alex didn’t stop no matter how much Brittany begged Alex continued increasing his pace as he ravaged her body. Finally when Brittany could take it no longer she took matters into her own hand. “Alex, please forgive me.” Brittany said through tears as she raised her hands to either side of his face. “Hikaru Suisei!”
The bright flash of light blinded Alex as he reeled backwards in surprise. His movement cause Brittany even more pain, and she was about to cast another spell when Alex looked back at her in shock. “Brittany...what...what just...oh God no.” Alex said as he paled suddenly and looked down. Both he and Brittany were covered in blood from where he had lost control. Alex gently slide himself out of Brittany as he got out of bed and backed away from her. “Brittany, God I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have...I couldn’t control myself. What have I done?”
Brittany winced in pain as she sat up slowly and looked at Alex. She gave him a weak smile as she looked down between her legs at the damage. She closed her eyes and held her hand between her legs as she quickly healed herself. She then stood up and looked at Alex who was deathly quiet and staring at the ground afraid to make eye contact. “Alex, it’s okay.” Brittany said softly as she tried to move towards him. Alex backed away and shook his head.
“No, I could’ve seriously hurt you. God, I didn’t mean to lose control, I don’t know what happened I just did. I’m so sorry.” Alex said, still avoiding eye contact.
He feels so guilty for something he didn’t have any control over. He doesn’t need to blame himself for what happened. He couldn’t control his actions, I know that. There’s no need for him to be afraid that I’m going to hate him for what he did. Brittany thought as she continued walking towards him. Alex continued backing up until he hit the wall, and when he didn’t have anywhere else to go Brittany slowly rubbed his arm and lifted his chin up so that he would be forced to look at her. Brittany was surprised to see tears in Alex’s eyes mimicking Brittany’s own pain. “Alex, don’t feel bad for what happened. I know you had no control over your actions. I’m fine, I can heal myself remember? I still love you, something like this isn’t going to change that. I can’t get mad over you doing something that you didn’t have any control over. I know you didn’t mean to hurt me and I know if you had a choice then you wouldn’t have.”
“Still, I shouldn’t have lost control.” Alex finally said as he tried to look away again. Brittany lifted his chin back up as she kissed him softly and pressed her naked chest up against his as he slowly wrapped his arms around her. “I’m so sorry.”
“Stop apologizing. If you want to make it up to me...just hold me.” Brittany said as she rested her head against his chest and felt the strength slowly begin to ebb out of her as she succumbed to the sweet call of much needed sleep.
Author's Note- I know there hasn't been too much action lately, but don't worry there will be some soon. The main point I'm trying to cover here is the emotional change between Alex and Brittany. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be able to post any new chapters over the weekend. I'm going with a friend to the beach and though I'll try to work on my story there...hey its the beach ; ). So for those of you who are loyal reader's I'm sorry that I won't have anything new for you to read over the weekend, but I will definetely try to write enough to make up for it. Thank again for the reviews, feel free to comment as much as you like. I love to hear how you like my stories and wether you think I should change anything. I welcome all forms of critisism as long as its not openly brutal ; )

Alex continued backing up until he hit the wall, and when he didn’t have anywhere else to go Brittany slowly rubbed his arm and lifted his chin up so that he would be forced to look at her. Brittany was surprised to see tears in Alex’s eyes mimicking Brittany’s own pain. “Alex, don’t feel bad for what happened. I know you had no control over your actions. I’m fine, I can heal myself remember? I still love you, something like this isn’t going to change that. I can’t get mad over you doing something that you didn’t have any control over. I know you didn’t mean to hurt me and I know if you had a choice then you wouldn’t have.”
“Still, I shouldn’t have lost control.” Alex finally said as he tried to look away again. Brittany lifted his chin back up as she kissed him softly and pressed her naked chest up against his as he slowly wrapped his arms around her. “I’m so sorry.”
“Stop apologizing. If you want to make it up to me...just hold me.” Brittany said as she rested her head against his chest and felt the strength slowly begin to ebb out of her as she succumbed to the sweet call of much needed sleep.
Author's Note- I know there hasn't been too much action lately, but don't worry there will be some soon. The main point I'm trying to cover here is the emotional change between Alex and Brittany. Also, I'm not sure if I'll be able to post any new chapters over the weekend. I'm going with a friend to the beach and though I'll try to work on my story there...hey its the beach ; ). So for those of you who are loyal reader's I'm sorry that I won't have anything new for you to read over the weekend, but I will definetely try to write enough to make up for it.
