Alex and Brittany stood before the barrier that lead to the Elven village. "Magnus was right about one thing. We won't be able to stand up to Zanatos alone. Even though they're small in numbers we need all the help we can get."
"Yeah I highly doubt Magnus is exactly overflowing with joy at the idea of helping us." Brittany said sarcastically.
"Allying myself with Magnus was not the purpose of my visit. In fact despite the way things seem I think I might have accomplished my original goal."
"Finding out wether or not Alcadan is really alive right?"
"Exactly. The way Magnus was acting, it was as if someone was telling him what to do. Needless to say, I think we may have just gained a powerful new ally. I have no doubt that Alcadan was listening to the conversation taking place and I have a good feeling that with what we said we have earned his trust. Now all that is left to do is to get Rire to help us, return to the castle, and to prepare." Alex said. He then closed his eyes and clasped his hands together like he was about to cast a spell. Before Alex could start Brittany placed her hand on his arm causing him to open his eyes in surprise.
"Alex why don't you let me do this. Last time you used this spell you almost died. Seeing as how casting spells doesn't effect me I think it'd be a whole lot easier for you to just let me cast it." Brittany said with a smile. Alex blushed slightly and ran his hand through his hair.
"Yeah...I guess you do have a point there. Go ahead, do you remember the spell?"
"Yes of course I do." Brittany closed her eyes and started to cast the spell.
"I don?t think you'll be needing that spell." a voice called out, causing Brittany to stop. Alex and Brittany turned to see Rire standing before them. Behind him stood two hundred elven warriors clad in armor and adorned with weapons.
"Well this is a pleasant surprise." Alex commented as he shook hands with Rire. "It seems you were expecting us."
"Kiba sent a messenger here yesterday saying you might come for us. He told us to be prepared for if he knew you you'd come to us after your talk with the mages. Evidently it seems he was correct."
Alex smirked and nodded. "That's Kiba for you. He never did listen to orders. I told him directly not to bring you into this unless it was absolutely necessary."
"Which now it is." Brittany stated glancing at Alex. Alex sighed and nodded.
"Yes, now it is and now I am thankful for Kiba's sight fulness in this matter." Alex straightened up and looked at Rire. "So, do I have the support of the elves in this matter?"
Rire kneeled before Alex, along with the rest of the elves as he responded. "We have chosen to serve only you my Lord. We would be honored to fight for you. You have the allegiance of the elves. All the elves will serve you my Lord. If my some miracle we are able to free our fellow brothers and sisters from the northern Lord's grasp then they will serve you too."
"Rise, all of you." Alex commanded. The elves did as he asked as they awaited what he would say. "I have been trying to figure out a way to free your brethren, but I do not know how to without attacking Zanatos in his realm. Doing that would put us at too much risk. However I will promise you this. If we are successful in defeating Zanatos your brethren will be freed, that I can assure you."
"So, does this mean it is time to go back home now?" Brittany asked hopefully. Alex could see how tired she was, and he had to admit that he was just as tired from their adventures. He nodded with a weak smile as he turned back to Rire.
"I'm afraid that she doesn't have enough power to take us all to the castle." Alex started. Rire shook his head with a mischievous look in his eyes.
"Do not worry my Lord we have our own transportation to your kingdom. This realm seems to hold more secrets than even we knew. Before you arrived we had some unexpected visitors who want to help defeat the monster responsible for their brothers death in anyway they can." Rire said. Alex and Brittany exchanged confused looks until they saw a ripple appear in the shield. Suddenly pegasus started to come forth from the barrier. Neither Alex or Brittany could believe their eyes as hundreds of pegasus exited the realm. Each one stood beside one of the elves allowing the elves to mount them. Rire patted the mane of the pegasus beside him as he spoke.
"Evidently that pegasus friend of yours wasn't the last of his kind. These here were kept safe all these years being bred along with more of the creatures of this realm. They cannot tell me who was keeping them, but they did however tell me that the person informed them of what was happening and released them so that they might avenge their brother. Evidently they were sent here by magic so someone with very powerful magic must really like you two." Alex stroked the pegasus nose as he and Brittany exchanged glances once more.
"Alcadan." they said in unison knowing fully well who had sent them.

When Alex and Brittany returned to the castle on a pegasus followed by the elves they were met with a royal celebration. Kiba, Holly, and Shadow were the first ones out to greet them.
"Judging by the way things look I take it that everything went well." Kiba said with a smile as he shook Alex's hand and pat him on the back.
"Well thing's could've gone better." Alex commented as he turned and hugged Holly and shook Shadow's hand.
"They could've gone a whole lot worse too." Brittany added as she waved her hand in regards to the pegasus. By this time the wolf demon's were helping the elves and placing the pegasus in the stable.
"True, but I would've preferred a more direct answer in regard to the mages. Still, I won't argue with the help that we got. If Alcadan has been secretly breeding the magical creatures then we might get more help than I imagined." Alex stopped as a new thought entered his mind. "I wonder if he bred the phoenix."
"The phoenix...I'm not even sure if that would be possible." Rire said as he walked up to the group.
"Aye, the elf has a point my Lord. The phoenix was wiped out long ago for its healing ability." Kiba agreed. Brittany looked at Alex with curiosity but he just smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Don't worry I'm not up to anything. I'd actually be relieved if he didn't breed them." Alex whispered. Brittany nodded understandingly and relaxed a little more. Holly saw their expressions and asked.
"Why would you wonder about the phoenix my Lord?"
"Because the original demon Lord nearly wiped out the phoenix population when he created his fourth crystal. It took the hearts of one hundred phoenix to create. Something that comes at that high of a price should never be created again." Alex explained to her.
"I wonder what the Lord's fourth crystal actually did." Shadow mused. "The first one, the crystal of power was created with the blood and hearts of dragons combined with the hearts of minotaurs. The second one, the crystal of speed was created with the wings of fairies and sprites, and hearts of the mere-people. The third one, the crystal of energy was created with the blood of both pegasus and unicorn along with hearts of the sprites to create it."
"So what is your point?" Rire asked, glancing at Alex.
"Simple all the other crystals had to be created by mixing different species and taking their own unique abilities. Undoubtedly dragons and minotaurs are physically some of the strongest demons. Fairies and sprites are nearly impossible to catch with their speed and mere-people underwater are unstoppable. Pegasus and unicorns are very powerful and magic wise sprites are unsurpassable. Yet the fourth stone was created using only the hearts of the phoenix. So it gives reason to believe that the fourth crystal would be one of healing."
"That does make sense, still what does it matter. We should be focusing on the battle ahead and not one things that will make little difference." Kiba stated. Shadow nodded and smiled sheepishly.
"Yeah I guess you're right. Sorry, it's just the mystery about the Lord's fourth crystal has been bothering me for quite some time." Shadow said. Holly shook her head in disbelief. She then brightened as she looked up at Alex and Brittany. She saw both their eyes were getting heavy with drowsiness.
"Why don't we let the two love birds here go get freshened up and let them get some sleep. Judging by the way they're sleeping on their feet over there they didn't sleep much last night." Holly said drawing everyone's attention towards Alex and Brittany.
"No, no we're fine." Brittany insisted even as she yawned.
"Heh, both of you get to bed. I think we can handle everything for a little while. Tomorrow's going to be a big day, we'll start making plans for battle so we'll need both of you wide awake." Kiba ordered. Alex and Brittany laughed softly, knowing that there was no point in arguing with Kiba.
"We'd lose even if we tried." Alex said as he and Brittany made their way to the bedroom.
