Link walks out of the barn and laughs aloud as he thinks about him fighting the cow. He keeps walking toward the racing track to see it blocked off by several chickens. Link shivers in his boots as looks at all the chickens. He looks afraid and petrified. Link takes a few steps back as he grasps his hands tighter on the handle of the his hammer.

“Chickens… no not chickens…” Link mumbles to himself as he begins to shake violently.

Link begins to remember the times he use to hit chickens for fun… and then he remembers that after so many hits, several chickens would come out of nowhere and attack him. Oh he remembers the pain, and remembers the times he almost died from the onslaught of chickens.

Link panics and begins to look around everywhere making sure there is not chickens hiding somewhere. He grasps tighter around the hammer ready to hit anything that comes near him. The chickens bawk and begin to move toward him out of curiosity. Link hopes that his triforce of courage kicks in or he is sure to die, bat at the moment it sure isn’t working.

Malon comes up from behind him and giggles while saying in his ear, “What’s the matter… big bad hero afraid of some chickens?”

Link turns around with fright in his eyes and says, “You don’t understand…they are everywhere!”

Malon laughs and walks up to the chickens. She turns around and looks at Link with a smile. She gives him a hand motion to say, “Hey what could happen?” At that time, a giant chicken walks up behind her. Malon doesn’t realize it behind her and keeps laughing. Link tries to move his arm so he can point for her to look at the chicken.

He says in a whispered tone, ‘Chicken.”

“Of course there is dummy,” Malon responds.

“No chicken, big chicken,” he replies.

Malon turns around expecting to see a small baby chick but ends up finding a two-story chicken hovering over her.

“Okay, maybe that is a big chicken… help,” she cries as she runs toward Link and hides behind him.

“What makes you think I’ll protect you? I have a hard enough time standing.” Link says as his knees nearly buckle under.
