ML: Well… I guess this is gonna be a slow starter.

 

Dearka: What do you mean?

 

ML: No reviews, but I'm gonna finish this anyway. Anyway, Lacus sees someone off her beau, and as a result, goes over to Kira and Athrun's investigation firm to give them an assignment. I don't own GS, but I do own all original characters. This is both an AU and a lemon, so you don't like it, don't read, and PLEASE NO CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IN REVIEWS NOR FLAMES! R&R!

 

 

Chapter Two: The Job

 

Athrun was indifferent when he saw his former flame during the war, but Kira looked like he was about to go postal. However, before he could lose it anymore, Athrun told him, “Calm down. Let's just hear what she has to say.”

 

“Thanks Athrun.” Lacus replied. “I need some help.”

 

“Help?” Kira said. “I thought I told you I never wanted to see you again.” He continued as reminisced about the night he had found out Lacus was cheating on him with Wayne.

 

(FLASHBACK)

 

Kira knocked on the door, and realized it was open. He walked in, and the sight he had seen minutes after was the one sight that would break his heart. His girlfriend of several months, Lacus, was cheating on him with her bodyguard. He felt the tears, and started to run. Lacus tried to explain everything.

 

“Kira… please… it was just once…” Lacus said.

 

“Look, I understand where you're going, and I don't want to hear anymore! I NEVER WANT TO SEE OR SPEAK TO YOU AGAIN!” Kira yelled as he slammed the door in Lacus' face.

 

(END FLASHBACK)

 

Lacus continued, “My boyfriend… he was killed last night.”

 

Athrun then asked, “So, what's the job?”

 

“I need you guys to go undercover, and find out who wants me dead.” Lacus answered.

 

“Look, there are people who do that, and they're the police and/or witness protection.” Kira said, as he stormed out.

 

“I'll talk to him.” Athrun said, as he excused himself. He found his partner outside the office. “Look Kira, what happened, happened, and she's offering us a job! At least it's business.” Athrun explained.

 

“Still, the wounds are there in my heart! How can I not be reminded?” Kira said.

 

“Look, it'll just be for awhile. Hey, I have an idea. How about we take shifts? I'll have the day, and you have the night.” Athrun said.

 

“Sure. But you better be right about this, Athrun-kun.” Kira replied. Both men went back into the office. Kira then told Lacus. “All right. We'll take your case. But only if you let me work in the day.”

 

“All right. It's settled.” Lacus said.
