ML: All right, here's chapter four…it's finally Kira's turn…

 

Kira: Well, hopefully you've got an explanation about why you had Lacus cheat on me…

 

ML: It makes the story more interesting… and I'm sorry to all the Kira/Lacus fans out there if I offended you, but… making everything more interesting was my motive! Anyway, don't own GS or any original characters! Also, seeing as this fic may become a lemon, DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE UNDER LEGAL AGE! If you are going to review, PLEASE DO NOT OFFER ME FLAMES OR CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! That is all.

 

 

Chapter Four: The First Night

 

As police were questioning Trevor, Lacus and Athrun, Kira showed up in Dearka's car. He saw what was left of the limo. Dearka then flagged over Athrun and explained it to him straight. “It looks like these guys are serious.”

 

“I know how serious they can get. I mean, they tried to take out her chauffeur!” Athrun yelled.

 

“Hey, chill out. Besides, it's their pattern. They usually go after the people closest. That means going after her chauffeur, then you and maybe Kira.” Dearka replied.

 

Kira was listening and then said, “Well, not only do we have to watch Lacus' back, but we've got to watch ours.”

 

“Exactly.” Dearka replied. He then continued, “I'm gonna head back to the station. Paperwork, you know?” He then went to his car and drove off.

 

Other than that, the day wasn't as eventful and Kira showed up for the shift change. Hopefully it would be then he would finally get some answers. Athrun, seeing Kira, walked right to the door. He then said, “Good luck, pal. Hope it won't be too hard.”

 

“Well, it is my ex-girlfriend after all.” Kira said, as Athrun left. He then saw Lacus, and said, “Hey.”

 

“Hi.” Lacus said. It was clear that there was still some vitriol in the relationship, or what was left of it.

 

“I've moved on with it.” Kira said.

 

“You were so busy, and you never had time for me.” Lacus explained. “That's why I let Wayne in that night. But that was the past… this is the present.” She said as she got close to Kira. “Tonight, we can make up for the past, and start over…” She got close to Kira, but he backed away.

 

“I… I can't.” Kira said. “It's too soon.” He walked away. “I'll check up on some of the info.”

 

“But… you were always the one for me…” Lacus said, as tears ran down her face.

 

Elsewhere, Athrun then escorted Cagalli home, and went immediately to the apartment that he and Kira shared together. However, he had this strange feeling he wasn't alone. He was right, as the driver behind him bumped into him aggressively, and Athrun tried to get away, but the driver was too persistent, and bumped into the train tracks. Athrun undid his seat belt, and tried to open the door…
