ML: Ok, chapter nine is here!

 

Yzak: So, what happened?

 

ML: While Lacus and Kira do some very “hands-on” type of reminiscing, Athrun, after dropping off Cagalli, got abducted by two guys? Who are they? You'll find out this chapter!

 

Sai: Well, ML doesn't own us, but he does own all original characters! LET'S GO!

 

 

Chapter 9: Locked Up and Nowhere to Go!

 

Athrun opened his eyes, and thought, `I don't think I'm in Heliopolis anymore.'

 

“Well, you've got that part right.” A very familiar voice said, the owner of which was shrouded in the darkness of the detention area. “You're in the police station, pal.”

 

“Oh. Well then, do me a favour and get me out of here, Yzak.” Athrun said. “I don't think I did anything wrong to get me here, and then there's the fact your boss doesn't take too kindly to corruption.”

 

“Au contraire.” Dearka just unlocked the cell, and then, Dearka punched Athrun in the gut. Athrun felt the wind knocked out of him here and there. Yzak and a few other cops began to beat him up.

 

“You're in way too deep pal.” Dearka said. “I hate doing this to an old friend, but when it comes to the mob, it's just business.”

 

After the beating, Athrun saw Dearka's lips move. He instantly read them. “I knew about Yzak and the rest of them too. I'll tell Kira and Enrique immediately.” (AN: I took the lip-reading thing off of MI:3. Pretty nice touch, if I do say so myself.) Athrun just nodded tiredly before he passed out from the pain. “Take his carcass out of here, and throw it onto the street. I'll tell the Livornos to move in.”

 

“What are you going to do though?” Yzak said.

 

“Tell Toni that Zala wouldn't spill the beans of course.” Yzak and another cop managed to throw out Athrun's beat up body outside, and Dearka walked out of the Precinct, then rounded a corner and walked into an alleyway. He immediately called Kira and Athrun's place.

 

Kira looked over at the girl next to him. Again, the sex was mind-blowing, and he thought, `I could definitely get used to this.' He heard the phone ring, and said, “Yamato.”

 

“Hey, it's me.” Dearka said.

 

“Dearka? What's going on?” Kira asked.

 

“Well, Yzak and a few others abducted Athrun. I think about… 2/3rds of my precinct are in the payroll of the Livornos. Get Lacus and get over to the alley near the stationhouse.” He hung up.

 

Kira wasted no time. He changed, immediately woke up Lacus, and drove over to the alley near the precinct, where Dearka was dragging up Athrun's beat up body from the street. “Athrun? What happened?”

 

 

“I'll tell you what happened.” Dearka said. “Yzak and a bunch of other officers must've been on the payroll. They decided to send a message to you guys.”

 

“What's the message?” Kira asked.

 

“Easy. Surrender Lacus or you'll be killed along with her.” Dearka answered.

 

“Still, what's with the pretending to go along with Yzak and your guys?” Athrun asked.

 

“I had to make it believable.” Dearka shrugged.

“I thought you guys already have an insider.” Kira said.

 

“He had an insider.” Enrique said, getting out of his car. “Dearka pulled me outta there last night. The Livornos were gonna know.”

 

“So, what now?” Kira asked.

 

“We plan.” Athrun said.

 

“You guys do that. Enrique and I have got paperwork.” Dearka said, as both cops went back to the stationhouse.

 

“So, what's the plan, Kira?” Athrun said.

 

“Get yourself to a hospital to have those injuries checked out. I'll see if I can get Lacus out of town safe.” Kira replied.

 

“Try Cagalli's cabin near the lake. They don't know that place.” Athrun said.

 

“Got it.” Kira said, as Athrun left for the hospital and Lacus went with Kira to his car. Neither Kira nor Lacus said a word to another during the ride.
