Heero turned off the television set and threw the remote onto the floor. Heero, Relena and Noin were hold up in the den as they waited for Une and the others to arrive.
"Relena, you have to stop watching shows like that." Noin pleaded. She put her arms around the younger girl who'd she'd taken to care about like a little sister.
"How can I not get upset, Lu? There are at the very least 30 paparazzi hanging outside my gate. My phones been ringing off the hook and I can't pick up a paper without reading some disgusting, false story about myself." snapped Relena. She then bowed her head in shame for yelling at her friend.
"I'm sorry, Lu. I just don't know how to handle all this." apologized Relena. "Please forgive me."
"Honey, it's understandable. There's nothing to forgive. You're handling this a lot better than Milliardo is. I swear I've had to lock up every weapon in our house." Noin joked.
Heero grunted at that. Once the scandal broke, Zechs had high tailed it over and seeing Heero living there, had pulled out his gun. If not for Relena and Noin, Heero would have gladly taken him on. After that, the two men were forbidden from being in the same area together without supervision.
It had been two long days since Relena's privacy had been invaded. Lady Une had sent a near platoon over for protection and crowd control. As much as he wanted to handle the situation violently, he conceded for diplomacies sake. All he could do was wait and stay by her side.
"They're screaming for my resignation. It may come to that." sighed Relena, playing with the pleats in her purple dress.
"Lena, people are upset now and you just need to give them time." said Noin.
Noin had been a constant helpful presence to Relena and Heero. She looked beautiful in a casual yellow shirt and jeans. Her coal black hair gleaming, she was the perfect compliment to Milliardo in every way.
"I-I want you to contact my publist and schedule a news conference." Relena asked her sister-in law.
"Are you sure that's the right move?" questioned Heero, back to her, staring out of the rooms window.
"Yes. Have them schedule it for this weekend. I'll have made my decision by then." Relena said, running her hand over her stomach, praying silently.

Peygan was pleased to see this group of individuals standing outside the Manor's door. These people would help in cheering up Ms. Relena.
"Ms. Relena, your visitors have arrived." Peygan announced, ushering them in the den.
Lady Une, Duo Maxwell, Hilde Schebeker, Wufei Chang and Sally Po were all there to show their support and help in any way possible.
"Relena? So, I guess it is true. Heero, you sneaky dog, you." Duo remarked with a grin as he checked out Relena's middle.
Heero said nothing but his glare became more intense as he looked at his friend.
"Congratulation Relena." Hilde smiled as she rushed to hug her friend. "I'm so happy for you and Heero."
It was just too much. Relena burst into tears, pushing Hilde aside and raced out of the room. Heero immediately took off after her. The room became deathly quiet.
"What did I say?" Hilde asked Noin, worried.
Noin out her arms around the smaller girl to reassure her. "It's not you, Hilde. Lena's under a massive amount of stress now."
"Where's Zech's, Noin?" Une questioned.
"He's banned from being in any room Heero is in. It's a long story." Noin sighed.

Relena slammed her bedroom door, but it was instantly opened by Heero and shut quietly. She threw herself on her bed and buried her face in a pillow.
"Relena."
"Go away. Just leave me alone for awhile." she sobbed, refusing to face him.
"Take yourself out of there and look at me." Heero sat down next to her and pulled the pillow out from under her. And got a dirty look for his trouble.
"You hate me. Admit it. A part of you has to. Admit it!" she shouted, sitting up and wiping tears off her cheeks.
"What the hell do you want me to say, Relena?"
"I want the truth. Duo automatically thought you were the father. Everyone does! You got angry. I saw your face. Stop pacifying me and tell me how you really feel!" Relena shouted.
"Fine. I'm angry, damnit! You screw around with someone and you don't even feel the need to tell me who it is. You want me to just accept this? I have a right to know!" Heero growled as he resisted the urge to break something or kill someone.
"Why? So you can go out and beat him up? Is that it? You're really just angry someone got to me first!" snapped Relena, pointing to her chest. "I'm sorry for bruising your ego!"
"I made a terrible mistake Heero and I'm sorry I hurt you. I was lonely. But you've hurt me ten times worse. You've been in and out of my life for years now. You've only recently said you care for me. What the hell is that supposed to mean? I've only wanted you to love me back. That's all. After years of waiting now you decided maybe you want me in your life. I deserve better than that, Heero!"
"Tell me his name, Relena. Give me the bastards name now!" Heero snarled.
She flinched at his tone but remained silent. His voice reminded her of when they first met. The coldness of it. She shook her head no.
They remained locked in a battle of wills before Heero angrily turned on his heels and stormed out of the room. The slamming of the door knocked over her lamp and toppled the teddy bear he'd given her.

Downstairs in the den Noin and a calmer Milliardo were sitting around a coffee table discussing with Une details of the news conference. Meanwhile, Sally and Wufei were quietly engaging and winning in a card against Duo and Hilde.
"This is a bad idea. The press are vultures. They'll eat her alive." said Milliardo, his temple throbbing at his developing headache.
"I disagree. If she doesn't speak, they'll continue reporting these idiotic stories and damage her reputation even more. The public has always been taken with Relena. I believe her version of events will calm people down." Une stated.
"Honey, I know you're upset and want to protect her, but she needs to do this." Agreed Noin, gently stroking her husbands long flaxen hair.
"Um, Hello everyone."
The rooms occupants turned to see Quatre and Trowa standing at the door with Peygan.
"Sorry, we're late. I tried to get away as soon as possible." Quatre smiled sheepishly, running his hand through his pale locks. His much taller companion, Trowa nodded in greeting.
Everyone jumped up to greet the two former pilots. They were especially thrilled to see Quatre. His nuturing, calming personality would be a much needed help.
"Where's Relena?" Trowa asked.
"She was upset earlier and went upstairs. Heero's with her." answered Noin.
Trowa said nothing except narrow the one green eye visible behind his brown unibang.
"Poor Relena and Heero. This must be such a trying time for them. I was so outraged when I turned on the news and heard those awful reports." Quatre said.
"They'll get past this. They're the strongest couple I know. Besides with a baby on the way, they have much to celebrate." Duo stated with his arm around Hilde's waist.
"She really is pregnant?" asked a stunned Quatre.
Noin nodded her head in confirmation while Milliardo grunted. As Quatre digested this information, his eyes wandered over to Hilde and Duo.
"Is that an engagement ring on your finger, Hilde?" Quatre gasped, pointing to her hand.
She blushed prettily and held her hand out to give him a better look.
"Wow. That's some rock. What'd you do, Duo? Rob a bank?" teased Quatre, grasping her hand.
"Yes." grinned Duo, licking his tongue out at his friend.
They all shared a laugh. It was nice mood lifter to be all together again.
"Hey, where'd Trowa go?" asked Hilde, looking behind Quatre. He'd disappeared.

Relena tried dispassionately to smooth her makeup under her sad and tired eyes. Looking into the mirror, she noticed she still appeared haggered. Heero hadn't been back. It was going on a half hour and she felt real fear he wasn't coming back.
A sharp knock on her door turned her away from the mirror. Hoping it was Heero, she rushed to answer it.
Trowa instead waited outside the bedroom. "May I come in?"
Relena stiffened a bit before moving aside to allow him in. "Trowa. What -" she began uneasily. Ever since that one night, she'd felt so uncomfortable around him, someone she'd always considered a friend.
"You didn't think I'd come, did you? I know I promised not to, but I couldn't after I'd heard the news." Trowa explained.
She looked him over. He was a handsome man, tall with the most beautiful sea green eyes. Any sane woman would kill themselves over him, but she'd only been interested in one man. One drunken, pathetic one night stand had forever strained their relationship. And she hated it.
"Trowa, Heero's demanding answers. If he comes back and finds you here, he'll be suspecious. He's out for blood. And I'm not being overly dramatic."
Outside her bedroom, a figure leaned in closer to listen at the door. Heero had needed to blow off steam after their argument and had circled the compound checking security and covertly destroying the presses equipment. He'd just been about to go back and talk to Relena when Trowa showed up. As he easedropped, he fought down his rage. Oh, He'd talk to Trowa later.
"Relena, you don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself." Trowa reasurred her.
"You don't know how painful this is to keep from Heero and my family. My God, you two are friends! I don't want to ruin a friendship, but I don't know how much more of this I can take." Relena said.
"You know I care about you. Heero too. But do you really think he can accept your pregnancy? Not be resentful? The baby needs a father. I could be-" He put his hands on her shoulders and tried to draw her to him.
"No. I love Heero. That's not changed. When I marry, it'll be to someone I love. Trowa, you don't love me and I can't ask you to marry me out of pity or obligation." she said, pushing him away.
Trowa inwardly groaned. She truly was the sweetest, most naive person he'd ever known, aside from the guileless Quatre. He'd obviously hid his feelings for her too well. He'd been in love with her for years, but she only has eyes for Heero. She had no romantic interest in him. It would always be about him. He wondered if he was being punished for his sins.
"What about Catherine? You love her. She's the one you should marry, not me." Relena stated.
Right. That lie. He'd told her he'd loved Catherine to get her sympathy that night. Well, he did. But not in that way. He was definitely being punished.
Trowa sighed. "Tell him." He reached for her again, but this time she didn't pull away.
"What?" She couldn't believe her ears.
"Tell him the truth. This is obviously killing you. The others don't need to know unless you chose to let them, but Heero does. I'll deal with the consequences."
"What about the baby?" she asked not quiet believing this turn around.
"A child should be raised by two people who love it. I know you don't love me. If Heero is man enough, he'll love you and the baby no matter the father. If he can't, I'll be there for you always." Trowa said, looking down at her relieved face.
Besides, there was still a chance for him if Heero screwed up. He was counting on it.
"Thank you." Relena put her arms around him and hugged him tight. She no longer felt that awkwardness around him.
Trowas shuddered quietly as he held her.
"I better go back. Don't want to draw anymore attention than I already have. Remember, I'm here for you whenever you need me." He leaned down to kiss her forehead. Disengaging himself, he left.
Outside in the hall, he leaned against the wall and cursed himself. Suddenly, the hair raised on the nape of his neck. If he believed in such a thing, he'd say his spidey senses were tingling. "Oh shit!"
Heero stood menacingly down the hall. Blocking any escape. Such hatred burning in his eyes, turning them from their normal prussian blue to a cold, hard black.
If one could see their lives flash before their eyes, Trowa was sure he did.
************************
"Bastard! You know how I feel about her and you seduced her anyway, buddy." Heero snarled, feeling a sick pleasure as he drove his fist repeatedly into Trowa's stomach.
Relena's backyard resembled a battle field. Lawn chairs overturned and bushes smashed.
But Trowa was no weakling. He countered with an uppercut that snapped Heero's head back with a violent jerk. Heero staggered a few steps before balling his fist and getting into a defensive position.
"You don't deserve her! You've done nothing but hurt her. And she still loves you, you ungrateful prick! If you weren't so busy running away from the best thing to your miserable life, I would never have taken a chance!" Trowa gasped, wipping at his bloody nose. Damn, his stomach was on fire!
"Liar! I heard everything. In love with Catherine, huh? Is that the crap you've been feeding her? You've deceived Relena into thinking you only want friendship. Hypocrite! How long have you been waiting in the wings to make your move, lover boy?" Heero spat.
He felt like hell. His lip was busted, face bruised and aching, but he was in a hell of a lot better shape than Trowa.
""You were gone Heero. Always leaving her alone and depressed. I never meant to fall in love with her, but I did. I could keep her happy if you'd stay out of my way. You're not good enough for her!" shouted Trowa, suddenly jumping into the air to execute a flawless somersault. Landing smoothly behind Heero, he delivered a hard kick to his opponents back.
Heero fell forward on his hands and barely moved out of the way in time before Trowa could bring his leg down onto his head.
"So you felt it was your duty to comfort her, huh?" Heero said as he rushed at his former friend to deliver a series of painful blows about Trowa's stomach and ribs. One final, particularly
brutal punch to the ribs decided the fight. Trowa slammed to the ground, writhing in pain.
"S-Someone had to." Trowa mocked, holding his arms across his rib area.
"I'm not going anywhere. Never again. So you stay the hell away from Relena." Heero glared down at him.
"And if I d-don't?" Trowa tried to pull himself upright.
"I'll kill you." And to drive his point home, Heero drew back his fist and slammed it viciously into Trowa's face. He gained morbid satisfaction hearing bone crack.
Trowa fell back as he grabbed at his shattered jaw.
Bending down, Heero crouched near the fallen pilot. "I don't care if your the baby's father or not. Relena's mine. We belong together and if you ever interfere again, I will kill you and no one will find your sorry remains, friend."
Not bothering waiting for a reply, Heero got up and left Trowa writhing alone in the grass.
*****************1St POV*****
"Heero, where are you?" I paced back and forth in my room. Looking at my wall clock for the tenth time in a row, I became more scared than ever. It was going on two hours now and no Heero. I lied to everyone about being tired so as not to have to face them at lunch. What could I say? Oh, by the way, before another person says it, Heero's not the father. Please pass the salt!
The door opened and the man in questioned entered without bothering to knock. And he was a mess! His clothes were ripped. His handsome face covered in bruises, lips busted and knuckles bloody and scraped.
"Oh God! What happened to you?" I asked, running frantically to him.
He put his arms around me and just held me close. That had to be a positive sign, right?
"I'm sorry about earlier, Heero." I said, breathing in his scent. He just pulled me tighter to him.
"So am I."
Pushing myself back a little from his embrace, I gently touched his face. Thinking about earlier, I knew it was past time to tell him the truth.
"Heero, I have something to tell you. I should never have kept this from you in the first place. Trowa is-" I began, but he interupted me.
"I know Relena." Heero stated, caressing my hair with his bruised hand.
It didn't take long to put 2 + 2 together. His battered appearance said enough. It was something I'd been dreading from the very beginning.
"He's not buried in my rose garden, is he?" I couldn't help but lamely joke. God, I hope he isn't!
"Hn. He'll live. I got his side of the story Relena, now how about yours?" Heero asked.
All right! How did you all like them apples?! Hope you did? Sorry, if the fight scene was weak. I'm just not an action writer. And sorry for the bastardization of Trowa. I actually love that character. I have a semi obsession with Trowa. Trowa and Une. Don't know why? So I'll probably write a fic on those two after I'm done with this. Well, hope you all come back to read more. Bye!
