"Hey there," he said leaning on the bar.
"What would you like to drink?" Tara asked.
"I don't want anything to drink, I want something else. I want you," said the man as he grabbed her arm and tried to pull her over the bar.
"Hey let me go you son of a bitch!" Tara screamed.
"Hey you!" Claire called from behind them.
The man looked over and found him face to face with the end of a gun.
"Let her go or you'll lose something more than just your face," Claire said as he cocked the gun in his hand.
The man slowly released Tara's arm and backed away from the bar. He then ran out of the room and Claire put the gun down. Tara was rubbing her arm as he came behind the bar. She felt him take her arm and watched him look it over.
"I'm sorry Mr. Leonelli for swearing..."
"Please, call me Claire. And don't worry. I don't care about that, are you hurt anywhere else?" Claire asked as he looked her over.
"No, I'm fine now thank you."
"I will have that man found and he will be put out of his misrey."
"He was drunk and probablly didn't know what he was doing...."
"No, he has caused problems here bofore. So now I have all more reason to hurt him," Claire said with a smile.
Tara looked down at the floor and saw a glass. She bent down and picked it up. Setting it down on the bar she looked back at Claire was staring at her.
"What?" Tara asked raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing, are you hungry?"
"No not really, I just had something to eat a little while ago."
"Well, maybe some other time."
And with that, Claire left the room and Tara finished her shift. She went home that morning and went right to sleep. She woke hours later to her phone ringing.
"Hello?" Tara asked sleepily as she picked up the receiver.
"Oh I'm sorry, did I wake you?" Asked the voice on the other end.
"Who's this?"
"Guess..."
"Hello Claire, I should have known it was you."
"Hmm, well, you can't blame me for trying."
"Okay, why did you call me?"
"I was just wondering if you would like to go out and do something fun. You don't have to go to work today, I've already taken care of it."
"I don't know..."
"Oh, come on. What harm could it do?"
Tara thought for a moment. Yes, what harm could it do?
"All right fine. Where shall I meet you?" Tara asked.
"I'm already here. Come downstairs, I have something for you," Claire said then hung up the phone.
Tara laid there and looked at the receiver in her hand. She then hung it up and got out of bed, slowly stumbling to the bathroom. There she got dressed and left her apartment. Once downstairs she saw Claire standing next to a light pole. In his hand he held a small box.
"So, where are we going?" Tara asked not noticing the box.
"Well, I figured that since you are new here, I'd show you around the city. But first I want you to have this," Claire said as he handed Tara the box.
She looked it over carefully before opening it to find a key. She looked at it questioningly.
"It's a key to my office. If you ever have any problems, you can come and find me anytime."
"Um... thanks, I'm sure I won't be needing it. But you never know."
After that they began to walk down the street. Claire told Tara about the city and where everything was. They went to lunch and she noticed that everywhere they went, they were stared at.
"Come get you picture taken on real old fashoned paper!"
Tara heard the call and she reconized it. She knew who that was.
"Want to get a picture?" Tara asked.
"Sure, where at?"
Tara pointed at the small carrige and the little girl standing there. Claire agreed and they went over to get their picture taken.
"Hello there," Tara said. "We'd like to get our picture taken."
The little girl tuned around and saw them. She immedeatly knew who was there.
"Oh yes of course."
She told them about how it was done and said that they could have as many as they wanted. It sounded like fun and they had two pictures taken.
"Here you go, say hi to your mom for me," Tara said as she handed the girl a small bag.
Then they walked away, and as they did the girl took another picture of them. Then she opened the bag to find 300 dollars inside. She was very surprised to find that much in the small bag. She looked back at the picture for Claire and the girl he was with. Later that day Tara returned home and invited Claire in for a while.
"So did you have fun?" Claire asked as Tara handed him a soda.
"Yeah, I did. Did you?"
"Sure, we should do it again sometime."
"Ok, but on one of my days off next time ok?"
Claire only smirked and then watched as Tara went into the kitchen to make something to eat. He watched as she got things from the cuboard and the fidge.
The next day, Claire sat in his chair, head in hand, thinking as he always did. Tara was sleeping, well, trying to at least. But somewhere else in the city something was going on that would cause a lot of trouble.
"Hey Dice! Come here a minute!" The little girl called.
"What is it Monica?"
"Yesterday Claire came by and had his picture taken."
"Really? Can I see?"
Monica pulled out the picture and handed it to the blonde. He looked at it carefully.
"Who's this he is with?"
"I don't know, but she gave me a lot of money and told me to say hello to my mom for her. She seemed really nice, but I don't know why she would be hanging around with him."
"Hmm... I'll have to check in to it."
"Hey, are you going to pay me for it or not?" Monica called.
"I'll take you to dinner or something."
And with that he walked away, picture in hand. He looked it over and tried to think.
"Is something wrong Daisuke?"
"Yeah J, look at this picture. What do you see?" Daisuke asked as he handed the picture to the android.
"I see Claire standing with a young woman, why do you ask?"
"Does she have anything on her? Like any file?"
"No, she does not."
"Great, looks like we'll need to go ask Claire himself."
The two went back to the office and tried to find anything out about this girl. Later that night Tara had gotten up and had arrived at work. Today, she and Jane were to host an emergentcy meeting and Jane was not in good shape. She ran and hid in the back, leaving Tara by herself. This time Ian came up with another man and ordered the drinks. All through the meeting Claire continuesly looked over to see what she was doing and couldn't consetrate on the meeting he was in. Tara was too busy to notice she was being watched. The meeting ended without anyone getting killed and Tara was left to clean up and didn't notice that Claire had stayed behind. He watched as she picked up glasses and plates and put then away after washing them.
"So, I see that you are almost done," Claire said as he walked upto her.
"Oh you scared me. Yeah, I don't know where Jane went but I don't think she's feeling very good," Tara said as she turned around.
"I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to know if you would like to go get something to eat with me."
"I don't know, I'm really tired and I didn't get much sleep today."
"Oh come on, it'll be fun. I promise."
"Well, alright but I..."
"Great let's go."
So Tara was pulled from the bar and out of the casino to a waiting car. She didn't know that this would set off a chain of events that would change everything.
Judoh's Rain
Tara was a little confused but thought it was nice to see him being nice. She knew how mean he could be but found him to be really funny. The next night she went to work and saw Claire sitting at a table close to the bar. More towards the early hours of the morning a man came up to the bar."Hey there," he said leaning on the bar.
"What would you like to drink?" Tara asked.
"I don't want anything to drink, I want something else. I want you," said the man as he grabbed her arm and tried to pull her over the bar.
