The car ride was quiet for Tara as she sat and listened to Claire fight on the phone about some money that had gone missing. She couldn't help but laugh at the scene. Claire noticed this and looked at her oddly. Soon enough they arrived at the resturant and Claire was still on the phone.
"You have until tomorrow to get my fucking money back or something really bad will happen to you!" Claire called and then hung up the phone.
"What was that about?" Tara asked as she was walked inside.
"Nothing, so here we are."
Tara looked around her and saw a very fancy restruant as she was shown to a table. Claire sat across from her and they were handed menus to look at. Within a few minutes they were ready to order and waited for the waiter to show up.
"So, how long do you plan on staying in your apartment?" Claire asked as her looked strait at her.
Tara was totally shocked by the question. Why was he asking her that?
"I don't know. I do like it there and the people are nice. I might stay there for a long time, why?" Tara asked back at him with concern.
"I just wanted to know. Where the hell is the waiter?" Claire asked looking around him.
"You notice that too huh?"
"Yeah, hey! Hey you!" Claire called as he caught someone attention.
The waiter came over to the table and stopped a few feet from Tara.
"Yes, can I help you?" He asked.
"Come over here," Claire said with a slight gesture.
The waiter walked over to him and Claire grabbed him by the coller and pulled him down to eye level. Tara looked on with interest and wondered how this was going to end.
"Play nice," Tara said as she picked up her glass of water.
"I want to know what is taking so long for our waiter to show up. Maybe you can tell us when that might be," Claire said reaching for his pocket.
"I can take your order," the waiter called as he watched helplessly.
"Great, I'll have the squid," Tara said as she moved her menu to the end of the table.
Claire let the waiter go and ordered his meal. The others in the restaunt looked at them but kept to themselves. It wasn't what they did that confused him, but it was the way Tara acted in scenes like that that made him wonder about things.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?" Tara asked now looking back at him.
"What are you doing tomorrow?"
"Hm? Working, why?"
"What about after work?"
"Going to sleep why?"
"Well I just wanted to know if you wanted to come out to a movie."
"Are you asking me out on a date?" Tara asked raising an eyebrow.
"No, just to a movie."
"We'll see."
Soon after that small conversation their food arrived. They talked more as they ate, just about random things. When they were finished Claire took Tara home, though he followed her up to her apartment. She unlocked the door and placed her keys on the table. As she turned to close the door she found that it was already closed and that Claire stood in front of it.
"Yes?" Tara asked looking at him with concern.
"I heard that there was a cat burgaler in the neighborhood, so I thought that I would walk you inside," Claire said as he walked over to the couch and sat down.
"Yeah, make yourself at home..." Tara said as she walked into the kitchen.
It had been about a month after the restarunt incident. Tara was working a double because Jane had an accident that would put her out of work for quite a while. Claire often stopped at the bar but Tara was always too busy to talk to him and he was getting annoyed with it. But soon he found a new annoyance, a man with white hair was at the bar, talking to Tara while she poured him a drink. Claire had seen the man a lot lately and wasn't liking it at all. The man would always sit close to where Tara worked and say things to her that he didn't like. And once when Claire had called Tara's house the man answered and told Claire not to bother him or Tara, and made fun of his name. Appearntly this man didn't know just who he was and he was going to find out very soon. Claire didn't like other people touching his things and he was going to make sure that the man learned his lesson. The bar closed and the man had left. Claire had sent Ian to find out where he lived and to 'invite' him over for a chat. Tara was cleaning up as Claire walked up behind her.
"Not that busy tonight huh?" Claire asked leaning in close to her.
"Yeah, it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be," Tara replied as she stepped away from him.
"So, what are you doing tonight?"
"Going to see Yuoku."
"Yuoku?" Claire asked assuming that this was the man who was touching his things without permission.
"Yeah, he's a friend of mine. Actually, I'm kinda dating him."
"Oh really now?"
"Yeah, so I'll see you tomorrow," Tara said as she left.
"Okay, but I'll see you sooner than you think."
And he knew he was right. Claire returned to his office and sat in his chair, waiting for the now named Yuoku to arrive. And soon he did, just not willingly.
"What do you want?" He asked as he was pushed to the floor, he cringed at the contact that his knees made with the hard wood.
"Many things, tell me, what do you want?" Claire asked as he looked down over the top of the desk at him.
"I-I don't know. To be released would be nice, and who are you?"
"Me? You don't know yet? Surely Tara would have told you by now, since you're dating her."
"What does Tara have to do with this? If you touch her I'll..."
"Do what? Kill me? I'm afraid not. You see, I don't like people who touch my things. And you are one of those people," Claire said as he got out of his chair.
"You still haven't told me who you are you know."
"You need to learn some manners," Claire said as he struck Yuoku across the face.
"Wait, I know you now. You're that asshole that called Tara's house aren't you?" Yuoku said as he looked up at him.
This comment earned him another harsh slap across the face and a kick to the chest. It completely knocked the wind out of the pale haired boy.
"I don't like your attitude and I don't like you hanging around Tara either," Claire said as he bent down to him and pulling his face to meet his own.
"Go to hell..."
"Oh I will, but you'll go first. Take him away, I'm bored with him already."
Yuoku was taken away and Claire sat back down in his chair, thinking of how he was going to kill the snow haired boy that had gained the trust he so badly wanted. Yes, Claire had learned exceptance for another person other than himself. He planned on doing this until she realized that he was the only one who would not disappear. No one knew of this and no one would know, if they found out well, they wouldn't live long to tell anyone about it. So now there he sat, agreeing on how to get rid of the annoyance that was the only thing between him and his newly found obsession. It was late that evening when Claire entered the room that Yuoku now occupied. Thuogh he couln't speak his words were somewhat heard trough the bindings.
"Don't worry, I won't feel a thing," Claire said with mild amusment.
Shock appeared in Yuoku's eyes as he saw Claire pull out many sharp and odd shaped objects. That's right, Yuoku was going to die. It had been days now since Tara had seen Yuoku and she was very worried about him. He would usually call her by now. But she thought that maybe he was busy, that was until she heard on the news that a body was found and identified as Yuoku and that he had been mutilated with surgical precision. His organs were missing and possibly sold on the black market, never to be seen again. That's when Tara broke down. She didn't show up to work that night or the next. Claire knew why and went to check in on her. He knock on her door but no answer came. He knocked again, still no answer. So he took out the key that he had copied and unlocked the door himself and walked into the apartment.
"Tara?" He called as he walked to her room.
"Go away..." a hoarse voice sounded back.
"Are you alright? You haven't been to work?" Claire asked as he walking into her bedroom to find her under the covers.
"You don't want to know," Tara choked back.
"Sure I do."
Tara uncovered her head and looked up at him as he sat down next to her. She sat up and wiped her eyes and calmed herself. Claire smiled to himself knowing that he had once again got what he wanted.
"Okay well you know Yuoku, right?"
"I've heard you metion him before."
"Well he... he.... died..." Tara said as she started to cry again.
