The cool night air immediately hit him once he stepped out of the doors. He could hear the two girls following behind him, Kanaye wouldn't get far. Yusuke started running after him, taking a page from Hiei's book of tricks by leaping up into a tree. It didn't take him long to overtake the man and get a bit ahead of him. He dropped to the ground while Kanaye was looking over his shoulder, no doubt to see if he was safe or not. The fist came out of nowhere, knocking the man to the ground. Yusuke stood over him for a moment before grabbing his shirt and hauling him to his feet.

Kagome ran after him, knowing that there was no way in hell she could catch him but trying none the less. Keiko was right beside her screaming Yusuke's name, trying to get him to stop. When the Toushin took to the trees both women knew that there was no escape for Kanaye now, though why exactly Yusuke was after him was anyones guess. Keiko was certain it was because she had told him Kanaye was the one to tell her what had happened. Kagome had no idea, Yusuke had mentioned the party but beyond that she couldn't begin to guess. She wondered if it had more to do with the fact that he had been with Keiko when they arrived at the restraunt.

Yusuke threw the lighter man against the brick wall of a nearby building, knocking the air out of him. "I want answers and I want them now! You were standing next to Maiko when we came back inside and she gave her that drink." Kanaye's hands came up trying to dislodge the grip that Yusuke had on his clothing. He was slammed against the wall again, his head cracking painfully against it. "You knew didn't you!"

Kayane was struggling to get air in his lungs, when Yusuke slammed his fist into his stomach. He would have went to his knees if it wasn't for Yusuke holding him up. He tried to fight back but there was no way he could overpower him. "I didn't! I didn't see anything!"

Yusuke threw him down to the ground and kicked him viciously in the stomach. "Don't even fucking lie to me! You were right there and then you ran straight to Keiko you bastard. Why did you let her do it? Why didn't you say anything?" Yusuke wanted nothing more than to kill the man on the ground in front of him but he couldn't. Not until the man admitted what he knew. "Tell me the truth or so help me god I'll rip your heart out and feed it to you!"

Kayane struggled to his feet only to be kicked back down, his ribs cracking under the blow. Dimly he could hear the two girls screaming at Yusuke to stop but he knew that they wouldn't be able to do anything to help him. He struck out blindly, blood beginning to pour into his eyes from the gash Yusuke had put into his head from the first blow. It had no hope of connecting as Yusuke easily sidestepped his fist and brought his own back into play. Kayane was able to move slightly but it wasn't enough. He screamed in agony as he felt his collarbone shatter under the force of Yusuke's fist. "Okay I knew what she had done! Is that what you wanted to hear? I watched as she put it in there!"

By this time both Keiko and Kagome were almost to the two of them. Kagome gasped, pressing a hand to her mouth repressing the urge to be sick. He had known and stood by, letting her drink it! He did nothing to stop it, in turn destroying lives. "Why? Her anguished voice cried out, needing to know the answer. What had she ever done to them to deserve it? Keiko merely looked on in horror as she watched the girl break drown in front of her.

Yusuke looked up at the sound of Kagome's voice, his anger doubling as she approached. No doubt she wasn't taking this well, she looked ready to collapse at any moment. He kicked Kayane again, prompting him to answer her question. It was something he wanted to know as well before he ended his pathetic life. "Answer her."

Kanaye coughed up blood, the crimson fluid dripping down his chin. Why hadn't anyone come to help him yet? Surely people could hear what was going on, so why hadn't anyone come? He glared up at the man standing over him. "Because you don't deserve Keiko you monster, it was obvious to us you were in love with Kagome. How were we to know she was pregnant? We were doing you a favor!"

"You know, reasoning like that just pisses me off. You killed her daughter, you ruined her relationship and you nearly killed her. For that you deserve to rot in hell." Yusuke hauled him to his feet once more, preparing to end the mans life. Energy was beginning to gather in his fist, the next blow would be the one to end his life. It would mean there was only one more person to bring to justice for what had happened.

Kagome saw his hand begin to glow and ran forward. She couldn't let him do this, not for her. If he killed the man he would either go to the Reikai prison or he would be executed since he was no longer human. Her daughter could never be brought back and that thought would pain her for the rest of her life but she couldn't allow Yusuke to pay for what he was about to do with his life. She threw herself against him and wrapped her trembling arms around his body. "Don't Yusuke. Please don't. I couldn't live with myself if you killed him for this."

Yusuke fought back the rage that was threatening to overwhelm him, trying to calm himself. If this bastard lived it would only be because Kagome's pleaded for him. He didn't deserve mercy, he should die for what he had done but he wouldn't hurt her further. He let the energy recede and dropped the man, allowing him to fall back to the ground. Kayane groaned but made no attempt get up, his injuries taking a toll. He looked up to Keiko, she seemed stunned by what she had heard.

This had all been a sick setup that had been to break her and Yusuke up. Keiko felt horrible for everything that she had said to them, she would have never believed it if she hadn't heard it coming from Kanaye. Without a word she turned an ran from the scene, unable to face them any longer. Maybe later she could bring herself to apologize but not right now, not after this.

Yusuke watched her go, hearing that had to be one hell of a blow but he couldn't concern himself with that right now. He needed to get Kagome home instead, maybe get some tea in her or something. He took a few deep calming breaths and let go of his blood lust. When it cleared he picked up Kurama's distinctive youki. He was close, very close. He looked off into the trees where he felt it, searching for his friend.

Golden eyes locked with Yusuke's chocolate brown, a slight nod was given and he watched the Toushin walk off carrying Kagome in his arms. They had arrived home to find the both of them missing, no note was left. That in itself was strange yet they waited, expecting that Yusuke and Kagome would return home soon. When darkness fell and there was still no sign of them they had gone hunting, It was ridiculously easy to track the two of them down, especially when Yusuke's youki surged. They had hurried then and come upon the Toushin beating a human male senseless. That wasn't unusual either really, Yusuke was known to do things such as this frequently.

However when they had heard the man's confession their anger had flared to life, allowing him to take control of their body. Kurama was waiting silently in the back of his mind, waiting for his time to take over again. Youko had work to do, this human had hurt someone close to them and that was unacceptable. He moved away from the trees, his silver hair blowing in the wind. A simple illusion cast guaranteed that no one would suspect him of being anything other than human. He knelt down beside the man on the ground, allowing a mask of concern to slip onto his face. "Are you alright?"

Kayane opened his eyes and tried to focus on the man looking at him. "Help me... please." He could barely see, his vision blurring with each throb that stabbed through his head. Finally someone had come to help him, he would recover for this and he would make sure that Yusuke went to prison for a very long time. But first, he had to get to the hospital.

Youko nodded and grasped the man by the arm helping him to his feet. He didn't concern himself with the groan that came from the man as he did so, let him suffer. He put a steadying hand on Kayane's shoulder, squeezing slightly. He smirked coldly when he felt the bones move underneath his hand and the cry of pain escape from the man's lips. "Oh, I didn't know you were hurt there."

The man made no reply, too focused on trying to stay upright. Youko ran his free hand through his hair and brought forth a flower laden with pollen. Without warning he blew the dust into Kayane's face and waited for it to take affect. As the man's eyes glazed over he smiled, this was entirely too easy. He wanted to be able to tear him to pieces, soaking his hands with his blood but knew that he could not. Being in the Ningenki he was limited in what he could do to this human, but that would soon change. "Follow me."

Youko lead the man back towards the trees, the border was close thankfully, otherwise he would be reduced to carrying this disgusting person and he didn't feel like playing the part of a pack mule. It was slow going yet the man made no complaints, the effects of the pollen holding control of him completely. It was nearly an hour later when they crossed into the Makai, the man straining with blood loss and fatigue.

It didn't take long for the first apparition to appear, one of Mukuro's team by the looks of it. The demon seemed surprised to see him there but merely raised a questioning eyebrow. Even after all this time his reputation was well known. "Is Hiei nearby?"

The apparition considered the question for several moments before answering. "Nearby no, the last report I heard he was about four hours from here at a fast run. What need have you of him, wiping this ones memories? I assure you that we can do that at the facility."

Youko's laugh was cold, if only it were that simple for this human. "You know of Hiei's mate to be?" He waited until the demon in front of him nodded with a look of curiosity. He knew that Hiei had mentioned Kagome to Mukuro's team, with the amount of human abductions that went on since he had met her there had been the need. They knew that if a miko was ever taken and they rescued her they were to promptly bring her to Mukuro's fortress for examination and inform him immediately. "This one here is one of two responsible for nearly killing her. It is only fitting that his punishment be determined by him."

The apparition regarded the beaten human coldly. He couldn't say he much cared for humans in general but Hiei was a powerful ally and any human he saw as worthy enough to court would be powerful as well. He couldn't say he saw the attraction of bedding a miko but he would not question it. "That one will not survive long enough to reach Hiei, however if we hurry we can present your case to Mukuro. Perhaps there is something that she can do."

"That is acceptable, lead the way." Youko turned to the human and grimaced, it seemed as if he were to be a pack mule anyway. It was no matter though, soon enough this human's fate would be determined and then carried out by Hiei. With a disregard for Kanaye's comfort he slung him over his shoulder and followed the apparition deeper into the Makai. A short while later saw them standing in a large room, waiting for Mukuro. She had been informed about their presence and sent word that she would be there shortly.

Youko looked up upon hearing the door slide open. He nodded to the woman who had walked in and then sat down in a chair, gesturing for him to do the same. "Tell me Youko Kurama, what brings you here to see me and why do you have a half dead human with you?" She had been resting when she ha been told of the Spirit Kitsune's arrival. She hadn't seen him since the Makai Tournament and was curious as to why he would show up here and at this time of night. The human was even more interesting, he was thoroughly beaten but she seriously doubted it was Youko's doing. It wasn't his style.

"The reason I am here has to deal with this... piece of filth. I need to speak to Hiei, is there any chance that you can call him back? I'm sure that he would be most interested in speaking to this man." Youko really didn't want to go into the full story, not knowing how much Mukuro had been told about what had happened. Hiei might not want her to know the full extent.

"I could Youko but I must know why. He's been sent on a very important mission and to call him back could cause problems. He just recently infiltrated a ring of slave traders which was not easy. He's had to convince them that his dealings with the Reikai are done and he was forced because of his probation. It hasn't been easy I assure you." Mukuro watched the kitsune for any sort of reaction that would give away what he was thinking but there was none. It was an odd request that she call Hiei back, though she had a feeling it had to do with the problems in the Ningenkai with his woman. Though what this human had to do with it she wasn't sure.

"Alright, I don't know how much of this you know but I will tell you. Kagome was carrying Hiei's child though she took a bit too much time telling him because she was afraid of how he would take it. When she did he reacted badly and left, she became depressed thinking he wasn't coming back. One of her friends took her to a party to cheer her up, while she was there this man and one other human put a narcotic in her drink. Yusuke also ingested part of it unknowingly and the two of them ended up sleeping together. Kagome being under the influence thought she was with Hiei and Yusuke didn't enlighten her thinking he would be able to speak to Hiei before anything else happened. Unfortunately Hiei was waiting for her when she arrived home. He was understandably upset and left again not believing what Kagome said when she told him that she hadn't slept with anyone other than him." Youko paused for a moment waiting to see what her reaction was. It was well known that she was very close to Hiei, this news wasn't likely to make her happy if she hadn't heard it before.

Mukuro nodded, she knew part of this already though not in quite so much detail. It had taken quite a bit of time for her to convince Hiei to talk about it, quite a bit of pain too. She recalled that training session quite vividly in fact, she had allowed him to take his anger out on her in their fight. "Yes, I know about this. Continue" Her gaze fell to the human the kitsune had brought with him. If this was one of the individuals responsible then it was Hiei's right to deal with him.

"Right, well then what we didn't know at the time was the drug they had given her would cause her to miscarry, nearly killing her in the process. She was taken to the hospital and they managed to save her. Yusuke went and told Hiei what had happened that what had happened was because of the drugs. Needless to say when she found out she lost the baby she took it hard, retreating into her mind. Hiei pulled her out but at the time she wasn't in any condition to see him so he took to watching over her from a distance." Youko took a deep breath before continuing. They should have seen it, they should have known how she'd react but they hadn't. Guilt wasn't a feeling he particularly liked having to experience. "Somehow she managed to slip by him not to long ago, deciding she had nothing to live for anymore with both him and her child gone. He found her passed out on the floor of their bedroom and brought her to us. We managed to keep her alive but he was gone again by the time she woke up. Yusuke took her out tonight, trying to get her mind off of things and they ran into his ex-fiance as well as this man. She heard him confess to being there when she was drugged but allowing it to happen because he wanted Yusuke's woman. Kagome pleaded with him not to kill this filth, so he left him to me. I thought it would be fitting if Hiei was the one to determine his fate."

Mukuro sighed, she hated to pull Hiei out of where he was. Once he left there was no way he would be able to go back. All the work would be lost and they'd be back at square one. "You do realize this puts me in a difficult position. If I call him back, all the work he does is gone. Not only that Enki is expecting him to take care of it and requested him specifically. Though, Enki is reasonable it would have to be something important in order to call him back. Just to avenge his lover would not be enough. Can you give me anything more?"

"How much more do you need Mukuro? She's damn near died twice and now she's becoming depressed over him again. That is why Yusuke took her out, there is no telling what effect tonight will have on her. If you need anything more, he came close to marking her before he left but I stopped him. They need to talk first but if he is gone for too much longer he might find himself replaced. Yusuke already has feelings for her and if he doesn't come back soon he's going to make a move on her. I don't need to explain to you what will happen if that happens do I?" Youko knew that it would be bad, very bad if those two decided to fight for the girl which is exactly what would happen. There was a good chance that one or both of them would die in the fight and that would leave her alone once more.

Mukuro walked up to the man on the floor and hauled him to his feet roughly. Her hand closed around his throat harshly as she studied him, ruthlessly invading his mind and pulling forth the memories. She needed to see for herself what had happened that night through his eyes. Everything that she had been told so far had made sense but she wanted to be absolutely certain that Kagome was blameless in all of this. Hiei had already been hurt far too many times in her opinion and she wasn't about to allow it to happen again. If she found the girl was to blame then she would be certain that Hiei never worried about her again because she would be dead.
