A DEVILS GAME

CHAPTER 2

The first thing Kagome noticed when consciousness called her was pain. Her neck and the place between her legs seem to be on fire. A bit dazed Kagome tried to think of any reason why she was feeling this way. First the memories of the school trip came to her but she couldn't think of anything that happened on the bus to cause such pain. Thinking harder she remembered how she left to go of alone, how she found the wood nymph and then it was like an invisible door was being unlocked and all memories came rushing in.

How she had been knocked out, the long wait in the prison like cave. How the creatures with pointed ears and tails had come to get her. The trail like conviction and last but not least the brutal rape in front of all those people. Tears welled up and Kagome gave into weeping.

Curling herself up in a fetus position lacing her hands together and placing them against her chest were her heart was Kagome cried. Long sad lonely cries of someone who just found out she wouldn't see daylight again. The crying helped her express her emotions and after some time she clamed down enough to only an occasional sob.

Feeling horrible Kagome tried t think of nothing but her mind was to full and she kept seeing pictures of last night, flashbacks with frightening intensity. Colors and smells where vividly real and Kagome had a hard time throwing them off but as soon as she got ride of one the another would come to claim her.

Kagome didn't know how long she had lain like this but somewhere in time she got control over herself and sat up. Sitting Indian style Kagome looked around her, her bleu/grey eyes dull and filled with misery. First thing she noticed was the nest of furs she was in. a small smile escaped her lips at the thought that this was probably a bed at the sight alone she began to miss her own bed and tears crept up in her eyes again at the thought of home.

The second thing she noticed was that she was completely naked and the memory of how her cloths had been cut of her body shot back into her mind. A bit of anger crept up from somewhere and accompanied the sad feeling. Then Kagome's brain started to work full time bits of movies and stories she had ever seen or read came back to her.

First thing she had to do was not let her self get carried away by feelings she needed to think with everything she did or there would never be a way for her to escape. She also needed to keep herself low for some time until there watchfulness dulled and then would be the time of preparing and escaping.

While sitting and thinking in herself Kagome absentmindedly brought her hand up to her neck and scratch the wounded side. A bolt of pain shot through her shoulder and Kagome stopped thinking and turned her head in an uncomfortable angle to see what was bothering her. An angry looking red swell with teeth marks came in sight and Kagome hid the urge to growl. `Great not only did I get raped but that damn piece of shit had to mark me too, like one thing isn't bad enough.' Kagome thought turning her head down to her legs.

At first she was a bit shocked to see the dried up blood, but then she remembered that virgin's tent to bleed there first time. Well at least now she knew why she was still feeling pain coming from those two places. Plucking at the fur she was sitting on Kagome thought about how she had been saving herself for her true one all those years. She had always firmly believed in that there was one soul mate for everyone and she had fully believed that she would meet hers one day and they would date and all that other stuff and then one day they would marry have kids and be happy. It hurt her to let go of that dream.

After some time of feeling sorry for herself Kagome picked her tray thoughts back up together and started to plan further on her grand escape, for escape she would if it were the last thing she would ever do. The thought calmed her some more and she was able to concentrate even better on her planning.

Kagome was just thinking on what she would have o steal for her trip down the mountain when soft footsteps warned her for a visitor. Fear shot through her like an arrow at the thought of the prince Kouga coming back. He couldn't come back she just couldn't face the man who raped her.

Feeling frantic she looked around for a place to hide when her eyes crossed the person coming in, relieve was complete and fast when she noticed a woman standing in the entrance. She was clothed in the same matter as all the males brown furs and other materials covering up the most important parts sun kissed skin showed where ever there was no cover.

She seemed nice enough standing there looking Kagome's naked form over. Then she stepped inside and Kagome noticed that she was holding a small bundle of what she assumed would become her new outfit. When the woman spoke her voice was soft and pleasant smoothing away Kagome's fears and feelings of embarrassment. Kagome couldn't help it but she had the feeling that if she let her self she would actually like this woman.

"Ohayoo Kagome, my name is Tenshi and I'm appointed to help you around." The woman stopped before the fur nest looking a bit uncomfortable when she noticed the blood n Kagome's legs. She must have come to a decision for she looked away from Kagome's legs and into her eyes while she sat down crossed legged before Kagome.

"First I'll do what Yosei-sama has ordered me to do and that is a bit of history. I bid you not to interrupt for it will explain who and what we are." Tenshi stopped talking and watched the younger woman take her words in when the black haired woman gave a curt nod in understanding Tenshi continued.

"Like all stories that are unreal this one also begins with the words of a long time ago- Tenshi smiled widely and warmly to Kagome her soft brown eyes sparkling with humor and Kagome couldn't help but smile back. Thanks to Tenshi she was even able to let the memories of what happened slit back into the depts. of her mind for at least a little while- hundreds of years back the world was known to inhabit more than just humans, there were the people of the hollow teeth I believe your people called them vampires, right? - Kagome nodded at the oddly phrased word but she had been able to understand the word Vampire- well you had those and the were people then you had the minor witches and hags, nymphs and goblins and many more. At the top of them were the demons they ruled supreme this was for many years an unquestioned rule but then slowly the human population grew more and more and with numbers comes strength." Tenshi's voice died down and she seemed to be starring of in the distance seeing something from her past. Kagome didn't pressure her in fact she was quite interesting all she knew was that those creatures Tenshi was telling about were fables and fairytales. To hear someone tell her they actually had been real was surreal to say at most.

Sighing deep Tenshi focused her eyes on Kagome again. "The humans lived peacefully for some time, but after years of being treat as dirt some began to protest and with them more and more screamed for justice. those years are know as the years of the great cleansing for the humans didn't only kill demons but anything that wasn't like them. After years of battle we began to hide for our numbers had grown weak and even with our superior strength and abilities we were no match for there numbers. Hundreds of years past and we became dust and tales, nothing more than a fable a myth- Tenshi shook her head a small spec of sadness showing in her eyes and Kagome felt herself wondering how her people must have suffered- but we said it was better that way at least we didn't get hunted anymore for people simply refused to believe we were real. We claimed the places they wouldn't come and made them believe that the places they would come and we thought of as ours were haunted by evil spirits. Most of the times that is enough to keep them away of course yu have your daredevils every now and then. Manny years we have lived like this now and everything goes well. The entire mountain area is the terrain of the wolf, panther, bear, fox, tiger and snow-phoenix youkai. You stumble on the wolf youkai clan, leaded by Yosei and her son Kouga, your new mate." Tenshi ended her speech and watch Kagome winch at the name of Kouga and for a second her eyes shot to the dried up blood before looking back in Kagome's eyes again.

"You were brave, most females when they undergo the mating scream bloody murder, but you'll see that Kouga is a great male and you'll love him to pieces one day." Tenshi softly patted Kagome's knee before standing up. "Now I have told you of history I will lead you to our hot-pool, I promise it is a miracle cure for sour muscles." She winked at Kagome and threw her a big piece of fur for her to cover her self in for the walk.

Without protest Kagome wrapped her self up in the musk smelling thing and followed Tenshi out of the cave. She needed to wash of the blood and she looked forward to soak her self in a hot bath. In fact she couldn't think of something she needed more at the moment, besides foot that is.

Tenshi slowed her pace to match Kagome's and she began to explain the workings of the cavern labyrinth. "See those bleu pebbles, if you follow those you come to the hot-pool. When you follow the brown ones you end up outside, green is for the kitchen, purple for the sleeping caves, yellow for the weaponry, pink for the birth room and the and red for the sick room."

Kagome suddenly eyed the walls with a new kind of understanding. "So you just need to keep to the colors and you won't get lost? Kagome said looking from the colored pebbles to Tenshi. The older woman smiled and nodded.

"That's right we learn our cups that rule as soon as they can understand it for there are many trickery paths inside the mountains but I think you will find out about that soon enough- Tenshi gave her a wicket smile- for me thinks you be in the birth room soon enough." Kagome chocked at that last statement.

Stopping in mid step she looked at Tenshi with big eyes. "What, what do you mean with that." Kagome whispered something more she couldn't get out but the female seemed to understand. "Well last night when Kouga took you, you were also in heat. Personally I think that's why he was a bit to enthusiastic with biting you." Tenshi mumbled before taking Kagome's arm and guiding her further into the mountain.

Kagome followed her lead but her mind was a thousand miles away at the news Tenshi just dropped on her. Feeling like the whole world was out to get her Kagome kept repeating in her mind that this just couldn't be true. `Haven't I been through enough I don't need any more problems. O gods tell me it isn't true.' Kagome's mind was still busy registering the latest bit of news when Tenshi stopped walking and called her attention back upon the present.

"Well we're here, you just go ahead and go in I'll just run up to the kitchen for a bite. I think you'll be hungry by now." Tenshi let Kagome's arm lose and winked at her before setting of back down the hall from which they had come.

Alone Kagome watched her surroundings and came to the conclusion she liked this place. It was a wide open cave with in the middle a giant pool filled with steaming water. In one corner mini waterfalls came out from the wall like primitive showers. In the wall right next to the entrance the symbol of females was carved telling Kagome this was an all woman bathroom. She was quite clad for she had been a bit frightened that she would actually have to deal with males while taking her bath.

Putting her blanked on a wooden frame Kagome went for the showerfall and jumped under the freezing water. Running her hands up and down her body as fast as she could to take of the dirt Kagome came out of the showerfall fast. Her teeth shattering from the cold Kagome made her way to the hot-pool. The steaming water promised to take away the cold and pains.

Kneeling down before the rim Kagome tried out the water with her hand first she didn't feel like burning her self just because of a little cold. Making a cup from her hands she started to throw small bits of warm water over her body so it would adjust. When she felt that she could go in she turned and lowered her body in the water, Letting out a sighed of content at the warm silky feel of it.

In the water Kagome noticed a carved out rim and she swam to it and settle down. Fully content she let the water brush away the pain and cold. Letting out another sighed Kagome looked around again this time watching for other wolf demons but she found none, probably they had already bath or had to come yet. Either way Kagome was glad for this time alone and her thoughts drifted back to Tenshi's last little bomb.

Discussing in her self how big the chance was that she was actually pregnant from Kouga Kagome didn't notice Tenshi returning; only when the woman placed a plate filled with different kind of cooked meats did she look up.

Kagome found she couldn't help herself and that she had to ask. "Tenshi when you said back in the hall about me being pregnant was that a joke or did you mean it." Kagome's voice was soft and Tenshi had to lean in to hear her. Sitting back on her haunches the female ookami watched Kagome with warm eyes. She could tell that the younger woman was frightful and that she wasn't used to there way of living and right now she needed a friend badly.

Nodding her head Tenshi decided she would be that friend maybe she could ask Inuzuma and Shinsetsu to also help but right now Tenshi was the only one here. "Back in the hall I wasn't joking Kagome. You see our senses are many times better than a human and we know when a female is in heat. There was no doubting that you were in heat last night and already I can smell your pup. But you needn't worry I will help you and my friends will help you and everything is going to become fine. Just as long as you let it become fine. Don't hold yourself back Kagome it will hurt not only you but your mate and pup as well." Tenshi gave her a warm look while speaking trying to sooth Kagome's senses but she could tell the young woman didn't believe her when she said everything would turn out fine. And really she could blame her humans weren't used to there way of living, Kagome would need time to adapt.

Letting herself flop on her ass Tenshi curled her tail around her waist and closed her eyes until she could just barely make Kagome out. She would have a talk with Guuzen and ask her mate to go talk with Kouga about this situation. The prince needed to be told that his mate was scared of not only there entire clans living habits but mostly of him.

Starring of into the distance Kagome took in what Tenshi had said. So she was really pregnant how fitting. Kagome grimaced at the irony of it all. All those years of doing the right thing and the first time she steps out of line she really gets herself buried under weird experiences. Now she was not only Kouga's mate and raped by him but also expecting his baby. Thing just kept getting harder and harder.

Behind her Kagome felt Tenshi shift and mumble to her self something about talking and Guuzen, but Kagome didn't feel like listening and instead started to swim a couple of rounds. The warm water had done wonders for her muscles and all pain was now reduced to a nagging feeling and one she could ignore.

Going back to the ledge Kagome set down and started eating the meats Tenshi had brought. All tasted delicious and made Kagome's mouth water with the flavor of them. Eating as much as she could stomach Kagome finally let out a sighed of pure content. She was warm the pain was gone and her stomach had been seen to.

A brush of wind told Kagome Tenshi had moved again and this time she looked around to see what the she-wolf was doing. Folding her arms and laying them on the rim she let her body float in the water while her head rested on her arms while she watched Tenshi unfold her new cloths.

Noticing Kagome starring at her Tenshi thought it was time to tell Kagome about the rest of Yosei's message. "Yosei has told me some more then just saying I needed to tell you the history. She has also decided that while Kouga goes away on patrol tomorrow you will be helping out in female duties. Most are just cooking for the clan and washing cloths and such it isn't hard work and you'll be with me all the time so that I'll be able to help you." Tenshi smiled widely at Kagome like she was giving a tread, but for just a moment Kagome didn't consider it good luck until she thought that this was the best way to grow adjust to her surroundings and it would be a great way to see which ways could be used as escape. And it will be a great way to show them I'm not trying to escape.

Smiling back at Tenshi for the first time in two days Kagome nodded in agreement. "Yes Tenshi that would be fine, but what is this about Kouga going away?" Kagome acquired curious. If her `mate' would be going away escaping was going to be even easier.

Surprised by Kagome's smile Tenshi missed the happy gleam in Kagome's eyes. Instead she felt happy that the girl was able to still smile it confirmed her hopes on a good ending. "Well we send out patrols in the mountain to make sure our terrain isn't taken over by other youkai and also to kept humans out." Tenshi explained. "Usually a patrol group stays away for several weeks- Kagome's smile grew wider at this little tidbit of information- but with you being with pup Kouga will shorten it in, I think they'll be back in two weeks at the most."

Kagome's smiles vanished like sugar in rain. Great just when something could have gone good her bodily condition had to screw it up. Really if she didn't know any better she would think the devil was playing her a few dirty turns. Hiding her face in her wet tresses so Tenshi would be alarmed by her expression Kagome climbed out of the pool and went to the towel Tenshi had readied for her.

Briskly rubbing her body dry Kagome threw the towel in a wooden basket that already had some other wet towels in it and went back to Tenshi who was holding up a piece of garment. Stopping Kagome watch the pile and swallowed. "Uhm Tenshi wouldn't it be best if I did the undergarments first?" Kagome asked her face a bit red.

Tenshi blinked at her question then her face got screwed up in a smile, telling Kagome she had a hard time not to laugh out loud. `All that's holding her back is probably the thought I can't take it.' Kagome thought but she waited for Tenshi to explain.

"Ha ha ha Kagome ha ha ha." Tenshi lost the battle and an irruption of rolling laughter's echoed through the cave. Kagome folded her arm before her chest and waited the insult out. Finally Tenshi cooled down enough to speak. "I'm sorry Kagome but I have forgotten how modest humans are. We don't wear undergarments for uhm good uhm well good reasons you'll learn in time. Now lets get you dressed, I'll show you it one time so you don't get confused." Tenshi walked next to Kagome holding up what looked like wrap-around skirt.

"this is a sarong it goes around your chest and ends at your hips a bit different from a true sarong but the name will do- Tenshi showed Kagome how to wrap the sarong around in the right way so it would stick all day- now this is like a vest you can let it hang lose or bind the two string together and wear it closed- she handed Kagome a short vest of brown fur, the garment didn't even made it to her waist but ended just beneath her breasts- now we come to our last piece the skirt just wrap it around like the sarong but this one has some strings for extra safety." Tenshi watched Kagome put on the last garment and she smiled when the young woman turned around to see her self.

"Now when you're done looking at yourself we'll go outside this week I have cooking duty and your going to help me. It will also be a great opportunity to meet other females and make friends." Tenshi gave Kagome a soft push before taking of. Kagome not feeling like walking alone followed her fast. Half-running to catch up with Tenshi she was next to the grey-haired female in no time at all.

Taking in a deep breath Kagome started to prepare her self to face all those people who had been there last night when she... when she was raped. Kagome forced her self to think it she wanted to keep the truth at serves. She would burry it when she was back at home far, far away from the wolfs.

Bracing her self Kagome looked for ward and so didn't notice the proud smile Tenshi threw her. Instead Kagome was thinking she might miss one person of the wolf demon clan and she was walking right next to her. And Kagome found it even harder to think she was going to miss use Tenshi's friendlyness, but then again it was due to her kind that she ended up here in the first place.

Coming into the wooden cabin Kagome thought that it was completely there fault for hadn't she ignored Yosei's order. Shaking her head stubbornly Kagome pushed the thought away, she would not feel guilty she wouldn't. It was there fault. And as for this supposed baby she would just make hast with escaping go to a doctor get an analyses and get an abortion, it was that simple. It had to be that simple.

From deep inside her a voice whispered that she had to stop dreaming for nothing in life would ever be simple. And Tenshi opened the door and Kagome was engulfed with sunlight that burned al thoughts out of her head and she focused on the immediate namely cooking.

Kagome turned to Tenshi. "Uhm Tenshi did I tell you that my mother has never allowed me near the kitchen, you see I have this little problem with flavoring....

::::: A/n: to all reviewers and not reviewers I would like to say: I hope you enjoyed the second chapter. Chapter 3 and 4 will be each uploaded on Saturday and Sunday and then I'm afraid the updates will be slow. I never thought school could get this busy I mean I'm drowning here in all this schoolwork and I just found out my holidays are gonna suck just as much.-__-

O well I'll write out a nice piece soon enough.
