A/n: yay a new chapter isn't it great. Well I think it is and hope you think so to. Enjoy.

Disclaimer: I'm coming back on the I don't own anything, for I do own a thing. Namely the idea of this story, that's all mine and all the oc characters, they're mine too. Of course I still don't own any character of Inu yasha. By now I have this sneaky suspicion that this is a permanent status.

A DEVILS GAME

CHAPTER 3

Behind the wooden table Kagome stood, carefully eying the carrot she was to chop to pieces. With all her might she tried to remember Sango's advice on chopping. After her mother Sango was the second person that tried to teach Kagome the mysteries of cooking and Kagome had indeed become better. Her food was now instead of deadly almost eatable, a big improvement if she was to be ever left to her own devices.

Still Sango was the one that cooked in the house they both shared and Kagome always took it upon herself to keep the fridge and cupboards nicely loaded with all kinds of things. Living with a cook and Kagome found that she was good of with her room mate on all fronds, but especially the cooking front.

Bringing her wondering mind back to the matter at hand Kagome continued to eye the carrot carefully `how was it, I know Sango teach me a trick for this. I just can't remember.' Kagome yelled in her mind still eying the carrot. Behind her a small young wolf demon watched Kagome with as much interest as Kagome eye the carrot.

Oblivious to her surrounding Kagome finally gave up and started to chop the damn orange thing up. Of course all went wrong and small bits would be flying to the ground every now and then, but at the end Kagome was satisfied that most of the carrot was still on the table nicely cut in uneven pieces, but it was cut. Right now for the next carrot.

Kagome was just beginning on her fifth carrot when she heard Tenshi come closer to the table and from what he hearing would tell her she was with at least two other females and having a discussion over something. More interested in what was going on (chopping carrots had proved to be very boring; she had almost twice managed to slice her own fingers. Thankfully her reactions were just fine and so were her fingers.)

"I'm telling you Tenshi the little ones are called cubs when born, pup is for the dogs and darling tell me since when did we change to dogs. The last time I checked I was still very much a wolf." The voice was a bit indignant. "O Inuzuma just let it be and I was the one to say we call the little ones pups not Tenshi- a small silence then- she uses both terms." The statement was followed by a giggle.

"Good gracious, please tell me you don't use both terms. However much I hate the other one you got to at least stick to one term only." Inuzuma now sounded heated, like she was defending someone's honor. "O Inuzuma who really cares what we call them in the end they're just one thing you need to know, that we're talking about babies." Came Tenshi's soft voice. Kagome could hear some spluttering like someone was chocking.

"All we need to know all we.... let me tell you it's insulting to think about it that way. But being a great person and loveable character I will let it go." Inuzuma stated smugly. The threesome finally reached the open space before the wooden table and Kagome was able to see the three.

A bit surprised she found that the two strange demons with Tenshi looked nothing like her. And her she had been thinking all the wolf demons would at least look a bit similar. Tenshi halted and so did the other two, she smiled at Kagome and pointed her out to the other two who directed there eyes on her directly making Kagome twitch.

"of course Inuzuma I will remember it, just as long as you remember what I saw last summer­- the left wolf swallowed hard and fixed Tenshi a strange look filled with puzzlement before turning her gaze back at Kagome- for now I would like to introduce Kagome too you although I have the feeling I might regret it later. - Tenshi turned to the left demon- Inuzuma this is the woman I told you about- she turned to Kagome- Kagome may I introduce my best friends Inuzuma and Shinsetsu." She smiled fondly at Kagome when she noticed that the young woman was making a true effort to accept the greetings with warmth and friendliness a whole effort after what happened to her last night. Many woman would have hated all end everything, instead her was a person who had a right to be harsh on all but was making an effort to be open and friendly. A good quality for the future leader of the pack.

Kagome nooked her head slightly to both of them when they were called by name studying there looks all the while. Tenshi was small and grey/brown haired. These two had hair the color of honey. Inuzuma wore it in a bun on top of her head and Shinsetsu had made tiny braids and leave it lose. Both possessed Turquoise colored eyes with ken interest now directed on her person. At first side she felt that Inuzuma was the harsher one of the two but also one that would stand beside you once she gave you her friendship. Shinsetsu was the softer one but also one that once she gave her friendship would stand with you in the hard times as well as the good times.

For now both bleu eyes held niceness in them, thy would give her a change to gain there friendship but nothing more, deep down Kagome burst out in tears at this kind of behavior. It was not something she would have suspected but here was Tenshi being very nice and she brought her best friends and they were nice to her too and at a moment in her live she needed it very badly. She just wished she was at home in her house with Sango instead but in live you had to make due with what you got and this was more than enough and she would grab it with both her hands at least until she escaped of course.

For a moment in the back of her mind she felt guilty she would after all be misleading them but she argued that she was not misleading them completely she would be a good friend she just didn't plan on staying, a small stab shot through her heart but Kagome ignored it. "Thanks Tenshi and you Inuzuma and Shinsetsu, thank you very much." Kagome stopped for her voice went horse with tears and she just couldn't bring her self to burst out in tears before them.

Inuzuma bristled and stepped closer to the table. "Don't you break down it wouldn't be good for the cub." She put severe emphases on the word cub shooting glances to the other two. "and dear let me help you with your carrots from what my daughter told me you cut about as fast as a turtle walks." The matter settle Inuzuma picked up a knife and a handful of carrots and chopped them all up in no time at all.

Tenshi smiled at Kagome wondered look and left to walk around the table and started on her own duty the readying of the meat. Shinsetsu picked her own load of carrots and helped Kagome and Inuzuma out.

The morning was spend in biggering harmony and Kagome found that she was very much enjoying there company. Inuzuma was always the one to take an opposite opinion of the rest leaving plenty of room to argue away. Fortunate or unfortunate she won more rounds then lost even when her reasoning was utterly ridiculous but none of them cared about that little tidbit of fact. Yes Kagome was enjoying her self very much and again she was able to forget about her own situation in live.

When the end of the afternoon drifted in food was almost ready and Kagome noticed that more and more Ookami arrived at the open grounds before the wooden cabin. Again she was amazed at how different each one looked from the other. Hair in all kinds of colors would be found and Kagome could easily imagine just as many different eye colors to go with the hair.

Groups of demons and wolfs (real brown haired wolfs) could be found talking amongst each other children racing between the legs of the elders. Shrieks of pleasure coming from them and the occasional sob when one of them hurt him or her self while laying but always one of the elders close to them would bend down and hush the young one with kisses and jokes and the child would be seen running and playing soon again with his friends.

For a moment Kagome's hand sunk before her belly thinking that she was now carrying a child a demon child and she could feel conflicting emotions role through her but she hold firm to the picture of her mother and brother and her friends. She wanted back to her own world and this child she carried wouldn't be able to live in that world.

Retracting her hand she went on readying plates on a table, she didn't know that Tenshi watched her like an eagle and the older woman smiled when she noticed Kagome's little gesture.

Kagome marveled at how the food was distributed. When a booming noise ringed over the place the demons formed a line beginning at the table Kagome stood behind to hand then a plate and utensils, from her they would walk to Tenshi to receive the food and then to Inuzuma and Shinsetsu to get a cup of water or watery beer. From there they would settle all over the place peacefully eating in groups of four to five adults and children. Later Tenshi told Kagome that the children were raised by everyone as there parents had to attend certain duties that could take them away sometimes for months. It was easy to when the children got to a certain age to raise them all together not only was it saver and good it also increased the feeling of harmony and pack among the younger ones. They were one and it was poured into them to care for each other at a very young age. For a moment Kagome compared to how it was done in the normal world and she had to admit that the Ookami demons had the right way down pat. In her own world to much difference remained, here there were no loners all there is, is this big family. So okay maybe you had the I like you better then the other but in the end they all stood beside each other and cared for each of there own and that was more then humans could ever claim.

Shoving her thoughts aside she picked up her own plate and those for Tenshi, Inuzuma and Shinsetsu and the four of them went to settle down on a rock that Kagome had spotted while chopping carrots. Just seconds later a couple of children settle down with them and they ate. Every now and then one of the female Ookami would help out a child and Kagome could do nothing but stare at what was happening before her.

Tenshi finished her plate up and urged the children to finish there and then go to the bathing cave. When the four children hobbled of she turned to Kagome. "Would you like to help out with the bathing, it really is a nice experience?" Tenshi's voice was soft and her eyes told Kagome that she would love this part of the day, Kagome nodded and the two rose from there seats. Inuzuma and Shinsetsu waved and picked there plates up to join a group of males not to far from them. Kagome recognized two of the four males; Guuzen and Kouga. Her heart stopped at the sight of the prince not only from fear and pain but also because she could really see him something that had been hard last night.

Her mate was gorgeous; there was no other way of putting it. His black hair was pulled up in a high pony tail leaving his elven ears in view. On each arm he had a wrist band the one what longer then the other and so was the same at his legs this time both wrapping the same size. A kilt like brown fur was wrapped around his waist reaching mid-tight, his chest and abdomen were covert by a light armor she had never seen the likes of before, and it appeared to be normal clothing but the gleam told her it was metal.

Ripping her eyes of him she started to put her fears down with the strange sensation she could place. For some reason some of her body had started to react to the sight of him and even if the feeling was a nice one it was unwanted. For Kami's sake the man had raped her.

Tenshi who had followed Kagome's view closed in on the girl and cradled her close with one arm; all the while she kept walking steadily taking the limp girl away from the sight. "Let me tell you about the bathing Kagome chan." Tenshi whispered softly attracting the girl attention and the wolf demon was relieved when she saw the haunted look vanish from the girl eyes.

Now that she had her full attention Tenshi presumed the explanation. "Every day all the children are taken to the hot-pool. There they get under the waterfall and then into the pool we- she pointed at her self and Kagome- and some other are to keep watch. We make sure that no accidents happen and that the place doesn't get changed into a pigsty." Kagome listened to Tenshi telling her of stories about what had happened in the past and every now and then she would laugh at a particular funny situation.

All the while they had disappeared into the caves and had gone quite deep when Tenshi suddenly halted and thereby stopped Kagome also. Turning to the younger girl her face serious she made sure to have eye contact. "Kagome I know that you're scared and you have every right to be but Kouga really is a great man even for a demon. I know that you probably don't believe me but just... just give him a chance, he had a hard life and well .... I think he actually likes you otherwise he would have never touched you."

Kagome looked away from Tenshi when she was finished with her little speech. How she would like to think everything was just fine, how she wanted to believe in happy endings she just couldn't, not anymore. After a long pause she turned her head back to Tenshi, she noticed that the older woman's face was still wearing the same expression. "I'm sorry Tenshi but it just hurts to deep, this is not something I can step over and put aside." Kagome's breathing became harsh and tears started to form in her eyes, turning them in liquid pools of bleu and grey. "My whole life stopped last night, a life I have known for 19 years just washed down the drain I can't forget that. I. just. Can't." Kagome struggled with the last words while she ripped her self lose from Tenshi's grip and walked a few meters before stopping and turning back. "You can't ask this of me, please." The desperation was so high in her voice that Tenshi decided she needed a new plan to work at the younger girl's outlook. But for now she would lay low.

Walking over to Kagome she hugged the silently crying form close. "I won't ever mention it again Kagome chan just stop crying. We just go to the bath and have a good time and tonight I'll ask Guuzen if he keeps Kouga away until he goes on his patrol trip." At that Kagome started to cry out loud and Tenshi getting her feelings in a bunch also started to cry.

After a moment both females quieted down and Kagome was the first to start giggling. "If anyone saw that they would have thought us a set of weirdo's. I'm crying and you crying because I'm crying a nice pare we make." And Kagome laughed her last tears away together with Tenshi.

After a few minutes Tenshi started walking again and Kagome followed at the arriving at the bathing room, merry waterland was there greeting. A bunch of Ookami females could be seen running after children, trying to keep them in line, but the children who thought it was tack run at there fasted spraying water and dirty cloths everywhere.

Then there was a whole set of children spaying water from the pool onto the edge making it twice as dangers and not a few minutes later the first victim skidded over the wet floor straight into the pool. Unfortunately it was one of the older women when she raised from the water all feel silent.

Seething the female rose from the water and climbed onto the ledge. All the children stopped there playing and watched the woman. Tenshi drew Kagome back from the pool and together they seeked a nice secluded place. "I know that it is not nice of me to say this but Sakura is nasty. When she gets riled she will take it out on anyone even if they didn't do a thing to her, it's better if we stay out of view since we arrived late. She won't do a thing to the children but we would make a perfect target." Tenshi whispered to Kagome her voice barely understandable.

Nodding that she understood the woman made a full circle making them appear to be in the room for much longer than they actually had. The two kept a close watch on Sakura just to make sure they weren't spotted out. The wet female slowly reached up with her hands and pulled her soaked her from her face and shoulders wringing the water out in one fast motion that had small droplets flying in all directions. Then she placed her black hair in a string over her left shoulder, her face was stern and her dog brown eyes kept switching over the whole room, like she was trying to see something that she didn't approve of. After a few tense moment she flicked her gaze on one o the other older woman the Ookami tried to make her self as small as possible and her face spelled distress. "Yuu I'm out for the night, I will send another to take over my task. I bid you all good night." And with that she took of, Yuu looked like she was ready to faint and the rest of the room just gave a mutual sigh.

Slowly the noise returned but the children played softer and less wildly with each other. Sakura's dive into the pool seemed to have sobered them all and now that they got of the hook they decided to be good little demons at least for the night.

Tenshi leaded Kagome to two other demonesses and chatted up with them. After a while Kagome drifted through the room watching what happened in it. She felt like she was watching through a window close but yet no to close. She smiled at the children's antics and pranks. Made sure a small girl didn't get walked over by two older boys and in general ended up sitting among six little demons playing some stone game she didn't understood. All with all it was a fun evening and at the end of it she hugged the children goodnight with just as much goodwill and care as the other Ookami females did.

Helping cleaning the place up Tenshi and Kagome talked some about the day and how Kagome thought about it. "I saw you play with the children, you're a natural." Tenshi whispered in Kagome's ear when she left her at the entrance of her sleeping cave. Kagome wanted to answer but Tenshi had already taken of, leaving Kagome alone with her thoughts in the torch lighted cave.

Blinking away her confusion Kagome turned to the bed of furs and a frown appeared upon her brow. She had already noticed the chill creeping up and the fur bed really wasn't going to be that warm, not with only her self in it. The a certain well tuned body flashed through her mind and Kagome thought that she should be grateful to be sleeping alone in this bed, even if she had to suffer a mild freezing for it.

Keeping her close on Kagome settled down on the bed, actually it was more like a small whole in the ground filled up with furs, after some shifting and slamming Kagome finally got her self into a nice comfortable position. Closing her eyes she was all done to get a nice long rest, of course it didn't work.

All the while laying there images of the passing two day flashed before her eyes. How she had stepped on the school bus and with the little plan in the back of her mind to explore the past. How she found Yosei giving birth to her the first born and how she was taken by Guuzen. Then came the memories of being locked in and brought out to suffer abuse and rape.

For a long time all Kagome could think about was that one night and she felt her self being pulled down in a black spiral of despair just when she was to hit bottom she heard a soft voice talking to her. Telling of long forgotten history and the way of living. Laughter and warmth shone like a bright light and Kagome followed it out of darkness.

Feeling completely dranged she finally fell asleep her cheeks moist from tears she didn't even know she had shed the last thing to reach her ears were Tenshi's promise that al would end well, if only she could belief it. She wanted it so much to believe, she just couldn't.

A shadow had all the while stood at the entrance listening to Kagome suffering and smelling her salty tears. It ripped at his heart and Kouga now that he was sure I his mate was asleep went into his room. Approaching her careful he pulled of his armor and furs then creped in beside Kagome. Shifting her around he spooned her enveloping her with his warmth but mindful not to shoke her of with it.

His tail sneaked around his new mate's waist and Kouga let out a happy sigh. This was what he had dreamed of since being a small cub. All he ever seemed to remember was this girl in his dreams holding out her hands at him. A big warm smile on her face and her bleu/grey eyes sparkling with this love that was only for him. Until now that was all she had ever been a vision a dream but then he had watched Guuzen bring up this human girl and his heart had stopped beating. There she was the woman from his dreams and she was within his grasp, he hadn't been able to resist.

The moment he recognized her he had taken of arranging all and everything and by the end of the day she was his all his. A bolt of possessiveness raged through Kouga and he hugged Kagome sleeping form closer for the barest second. Then had come the mating ritual, his poor hormones already raging whirled out of control when the sweet scent of her heat flicked at his nose. His core being had stepped in and mating had been harsher than should have been and Kouga's heart bled for that fault. Now he would have to step so lightly or all his hopes and dreams would vanish like sugar in rain. He didn't think he would be able to live with that. Loosing her would be like punching a knife in his heart, he would die from it but if he wouldn't be able to get her back his heart would die and his body would follow.

"I can't let you go my little haven; you're mine and have always been. I can't screw up I know somehow, someway I will get you to love me just as much- Kouga's hands sunk to Kagome's stomach- and he or she will be raised by the both of us." Kouga whispered into the night, and then he also laid his head down on Kagome junction of neck and shoulder. Content the wolf demon followed his mate into the world of dreams where he would locate her and start his seduction. A small dominant male smile played on his lips while he entered the world of dreams.

::::: well what do you think, what do you think. Was it any good??? Wait there's is more. As is well know Kagome is pregnant and yes the baby will be born. I'm letting you the readers pick a name for the child. There are a couple of rules do. 1: you have to enter a boys and a girl name as I'm not spilling on what it is going to be yet. (This is not really necessary but will greaten your changes as being chosen) 2: the name must have a meaning, like you could read last chapter all names I use have a meaning. It says something about the character etc.
