Disclaimer: You already know I don't own Inuyasha and them.

“Where are we going?” Kagome asked.

“You'll see.” Inuyasha took a sharp turn.

Kagome was almost positive they weren't in New York City any more. She was beginning to think they weren't even in New York. They had been driving for what seemed like hours when in reality it was only forty minutes. When she asked where they were going, he would say, “You'll see.” She started to think going with him was a bad idea. He wouldn't tell her where they were going, but for some reason she trusted him. Still, she wanted to know where they were going.

“Will you please tell me where we are going?” Kagome asked impatiently.

“You'll—”

“If you say `you'll see' one more time I'll get out.”

“OK then. We are goin' to a place you haven't been before, but you'll like it.”

“And how would you know that? All you know about me is that my name is Kagome Higurashi, I have a brother, a mom, and I'm from Japan.”

“I know you are twenty.”

“Well that too. But don't know what I like and don't like.”

“You don't like Kikyo.”

“How do you know that?”

“She is my ex and she came over to talk to me and when I said I had a date she guessed you.”

“I don't like Kikyo, but you were just guessing.”

“She called you a `whore'.”

“That bitch!”

Inuyasha laughed. “I guess we have more in common then you think.”

“Yeah, maybe we do.”

“Kagome?” Inuyasha stopped the car and looked at her.

“Hmm?”

“Have you ever had dreams that you can't explain?”

Kagome thought. “Yeah. Just this morning… why?” Inuyasha was starting to scare her.

“Just wonderin'.” Inuyasha started driving again.

“Why did you stop?” she asked.

“You didn't see the stop sign?” Inuyasha answered her question with another.

“No I wasn't lookin',” Kagome answered. Really she had been looking into his golden eyes, and before that the dash. She wasn't going to tell him that though. I have never seen golden eyes before. They are so… beautiful. Wait! Beautiful? They aren't beautiful! They aren't golden either! It was a trick of the light… Kagome thought. But they looked gold earlier too though, her mind told her. But eyes aren't gold… they aren't that color… they're beautiful!

“Kagome? Are you OK?” Inuyasha asked.

“Huh? Yeah. Fine. Why?”

“You… never mind.”

“I what?” she urged.

“Nothin',” he said.

No you meant something…”

“You looked like you were having an argument with yourself. Happy?”

Technically she was. She wasn't going to say `Yeah I was! And it was about your eyes!' Kagome didn't think that would settle. “No I wasn't… I was just thinkin' about something.”

“Oh. Well we are here.”

Kagome looked out the car windshield. She saw a little diner called Gibson Diner. “Nice place. We had to drive all over the place to get to this place? It looks good though. But wait,” Kagome said as she noticed the closed sign, “they're closed.”

“They are never closed to me.”

“Are you some kind of special person here or somethin'?” she asked.

“My uncle owns this place. I come here just about every night.”

“Oh… How good is the food?”

“Great!” Inuyasha exclaimed.

Inuyasha walked over to the door and knocked on the door. “You Jess, I know you're in there! Open up! It's me, Inuyasha!”

“Oh hey Inuyasha! Just a minute,” Jess said. Then she opened the door. “Oh who is that? She your girlfriend?” Jess teased.

Jess looked like she was forty or fifty and had dark brown hair with a little bit of grey in it.

“No! I saved her brother so she came out with me to say thank you.”

“Hi,” Jess said then stuck her hand out to shake Kagome's. “My name is Jess, I'm Inuyasha's aunt. I married his Uncle George, who owns this place,” Jess explained. “And you would be?”

“Kagome Higurashi. Nice to meet you Jess.”

“Your name sounds Japanese. Is it?” Jess observed.

“Yes it is. How do you know?”

“I met George in Japan when I was a student over there,” Jess told Kagome.

“Uhem, we would like dinner sometime tonight,” Inuyasha butted in.

“Right. What would you two like tonight?” Jess asked as she got out her little note pad to take their order.

Inuyasha ordered two specials and two Pepsis for him and Kagome.

“Why did you ask me if I ever had a dream I couldn't explain?” Kagome asked as they waited for their food.

“Just askin',” Inuyasha answered.

“Why were you just askin'?” Kagome pressed for more information.

“Because.”

“Because why?”

“Just because.”

“Just because why?”

“I wanted to know. And if you say `you wanted to know why' then I will… I don't know what I'll do, but you won't like it.”

Kagome smiled evilly. “Why did you wanna know? And before you even say anything about that, all you said I couldn't say `you wanted to know why'.”

“You're a sneaky wench,” Inuyasha said.
“My brother says that all the time… well he don't call me a `wench' but you get the idea.”

“Well then he is a smart boy.”

“Why is that?”

“He doesn't call his sister a wench.”

“You are trying to avoid my question.”

“Then I'll give you one question.”

“Why did you wanna know about my dreams?” Kagome asked. “And answer it with the correct answer.”

“I wanted to know.”

“That is not the answer I wanted, and you know it.”

“Because I had a dream and you were in it,” Inuyasha said, giving her the right answer.

“Oh well that's possible…”

“Very… but then I met you. That downsizes the probability by a lot,” Inuyasha reasoned.

“Guess it does. What was the dream about?”

“I was pinned to a tree, and you pulled the arrow out of my chest. I was wearing this red outfit and you had a green skirt on with a white shirt… there was a lot of people behind you… they all had arrows pointed at me. There was a giant worm looking thing it bit this large jewel out of your side… I wanted the jewel for some reason… but no one wanted me to have it…” Inuyasha told Kagome his dream. “That was it. I woke up. Now you tell me your dream.”

Kagome looked at the table. “I was in this forest… it looked familiar. I was running from someone… I don't know who he was, but I knew I couldn't stop or he would kill me. Then I tripped on a stick or something like that and fell. When I fell, I landed by a dead girl… I don't know who it was, but she looked familiar… like I knew her or something. But the weird thing is, I never seen her in my life.” Kagome looked up at him. “That's all I remember… nothing about you or anything… just the girl, the evil guy, and me.”

Jess came out with two trays of food. “Here ya' go.” She handed them their food and drinks.

They ate their dinner in silence. When it was time to go, Kagome went over to Jess and thanked her for the food. “You're welcome. Come back sometime. I think Inuyasha likes you; you are the first girl he has ever brought here… ever.”

“Really? Hey do you know what time it is?” Kagome asked as she remembered her brother at the hotel… alone.

Jess looked at her wristwatch. “It's almost midnight… why?” Jess asked.

“Inuyasha! We gotta go! Sota is at the hotel by himself!” Kagome said.

“Who's Sota?” Jess asked.

“My younger brother. The one that was blonde and stepped out in New York traffic and almost got hit, and Inuyasha saved him.” (A/N: Sorry if anyone is blonde! I am mean to blondes because my sister is blonde, even though most blondes are really intelligent.)

“Oh… how old is he?” Jess asked.

“Fourteen. He has been at the our house by himself before, but I shouldn't have left him by himself… but he wanted to stay…”

“OK c'mon.” Inuyasha and Kagome waved good-bye to Jess and ran out the door.

“It's almost an hour drive,” Inuyasha informed Kagome.

She got out her phone and dialed the hotel's number.

“Hello? This is Hotel City View, would you like to place a reservation?” the attendant asked.

“No, I would like to speak with the person in room 513.”

“I will send you through right away.” The attendant pressed a button and the phone in Sota and Kagome's phone rang.

Sota answered it. “Hey-lo?”

“Hey Sota, this is Kagome—”

“Hey! Why aren't you home yet? Your curfew is eleven o'clock missy!” Sota pretended to be his mom.

“Twerp, I just wanted to tell you I will be back in about an hour,” Kagome said.

Sota sighed. “Whew that gives me some time to get all these girls out…” Sota joked.

“Sota Raidon Higurashi! Don't talk like that… Besides, uncle's don't need to talk like that…” Kagome laughed and shushed Inuyasha before he could say anything.

“What? How could you get pregnant by him? You barely know him!” Sota yelled in Japanese.

“Sota! Calm down! I was just joking! What kind of person do you take me for? I wouldn't do that with him… I just met him! Sota you better be in bed before I get back.” Kagome said, also speaking in Japanese.

“Would you two stop with the Japanese stuff? Please! I feel like you are talkin' `bout me or something…” Inuyasha said.

“Iie… we weren't talking about you…” Kagome said.

“What does `iie' mean?” Inuyasha asked.

“ `No',” Kagome told him.

“No what?”

“It means `no' in Japanese,” she said.

“Oh…”

“Bye Sota.”

“Bye Kagome.”

They hung up. “What did you two say?”

“Nothin'…”

“Master Naraku, everything is ready,” a woman clad in white told Naraku.

“Great Kanna. We will attack them soon… very soon.” Naraku laughed very evilly.

“Yes, Master Naraku.” Kanna left the room. (A/N: I think I spelled Kanna right…)

That is chapter six! I hope you like it. The story is starting to come together there… well a little anyway. Btw `iie' is really `no' in Japanese. R&R XOXO Tormented Hanyou
