Last Time:
"So," he says. "What do you want to do today?"
"Stay like this," I reply, snuggling closer into his embrace. New feelings are taking over me, and I'm beginning to think that I'm in love with this hanyou...why? Because right now, I have this sensational feeling that I want him to hold me and never...never let go.
Bleeding Heart
Four: Spilling The Truth
Monday morning is always a killer. Actually, that's an understatement.
But, this morning is easier, because, once again, I wake up in Inuyasha's arms.
"Get up," I say sleepily, shaking his shoulder.
"No."
"Yes," I half yell, smacking him in the head with the pillow.
"Oi!" he yells. He picks up his pillow and smacks me back with it, knocking me on to the floor.
"Ow...okay, okay. Now that you're awake..."
"Oh, shut up," he says lazily, standing up.
Inuyasha spent the whole weekend with me, protecting me. He packed a bag of clothes to keep at my house so he could stay here with me until my mom comes back. He lives with his older brother, and his brother didn't care that he stayed here. Thank Kami for that.
I don't spend a lot of time getting ready; I don't have to rush to school anymore. I used to have to really motor so I could get to school before Kijuro did, but now that I'm walking with Inuyasha I don't have to worry. I think that after Friday night's events - after Kijuro and his friend were practically thrown out of the alleyway - they'll pretty much stay clear of him and me.
I silently debate on whether or not I should tell Sango and Rin what happened. I'm pretty sure they can keep it a secret, but I don't want them to worry. Everything's fine now. Sure, I'm a little more shaken up about Friday than I want to be, but I feel safe, as I keep on saying. I feel like nothing can go wrong.
As I think of all this, I wait for Inuyasha to be ready to leave. I lazily trace patterns on the blanket and decide that I will tell Sango and Rin the truth when they ask why I wasn't at the bar Friday night and why I wouldn't return any of their calls.
*_*-*_*-*_*
It's lunch now, and Inuyasha has done his best to stay by my side the whole day. Kijuro doesn't dare come anywhere near either of us. It's kind of funny, but at the same time, awkward.
I sit down across the table from Sango and Rin, Inuyasha once again at my side.
"I'll be right back, 'kay?" he says, then leaves.
"So..." Sango starts. "What's the deal with you two?"
"Yeah! What happened to make you guys so close all of a sudden?" Rin asks excitedly.
"Promise you won't tell anyone ?" I ask nervously.
"Come on, Kags, you know you can trust us," Sango says reassuringly.
"Besides, what can possibly be so bad?" Rin asks.
"I'm serious, Rin," I reply to her comment.
"Okay, okay...what is it?" she says, somewhat of a pout on her face.
I tell them everything; what happened at the diner on Thursday, what happened in the alleyway Friday night. And how Inuyasha had "rescued" me both times; how he's practically living with me so I feel safe until my mom gets back from her trip.
They both immediately burst in worry, almost panicking.
"Guys," I say. "It's okay. Everything's fine. I swear it. I wouldn't lie to you guys."
They nod, both understanding.
"So...what's exactly going on between you two?" Sango asks.
"I'm not sure, Sango. He's just here to protect me. More like a best friend than a boyfriend."
Rin suddenly gets a huge grin on her face. "You like him, don't you?" she asks happily, eyes brimming with excitement.
I decided that I'm not going to lie to them anymore. "I'm not sure yet, but I think I might..." I feel my cheeks heat with the blush appearing.
"Kags, are you serious? I mean, he is your friend and everything, but he left you all those years, remember?" Sango asks, her voice full of worry and concern. She's constantly worrying about me; sometimes for more reasons than one.
"He apologized for it, and I've known him long enough to know when he means it and when he doesn't. I promise you both that everything's okay."
Rin's eyes fill with excitement once more as she says, "So, when are you going to tell him you like him?"
"I don't even know if I really do yet! But if I find out I do, I'll do it when I feel comfortable doing it," I state firmly, eyeing Rin. She pouts, realizing I'm not going to do it today.
We all quiet down about the recent subject as Inuyasha comes to sit down at the table once again.
The rest of the lunch hour is normal talk; a different thing here and there. But when Kijuro walks by the table and steals a glance at me, Inuyasha glares at him long and hard enough to make his eyes brim with fear and quickly turn away.

The rest of the day goes by slow, and I find myself excited to walk back home with Inuyasha.
I feel wanted when I'm with him. Even though I probably don't need protection, he's there at my side to give it to me.
Sango and Rin decide to walk with us, too, and I laugh when Inuyasha rolls his eyes and says, "Just what I need; a house full of women."
It was extremely hard to keep Rin's mouth shut about me supposedly 'liking' Inuyasha without him knowing there's something I'm not telling him; but somehow Sango and I manage to keep her quiet on the way to my house.
"I suppose you guys want to come in," Inuyasha says as we reach my house.
Rin nods excitedly and runs to the door, pulling Sango along with her.
I follow them and proceed into the house to check my phone messages. There's one from my mother.
"Hi, Kagome, it's me. Sorry, but my meetings were moved ahead a few days, so I won't be back until next Tuesday. Sota's still at Grandpa's, so you won't have to worry about him. Give me a call later. Love you."
I sigh and walk up to my room to put my things away, and Sango and Rin followed, leaving Inuyasha downstairs to himself.
Once we were safe inside my room and out of hearing range, Rin jumped onto my bed and began jumping up and down. "I've got an idea, I've got an idea," she repeated in sing-song.
"Kami, Rin, what is it now ?" Sango asked.
"We should have a sleep-over this weekend!" she said excitedly. "You know, like the one's we used to have, when we were younger. Just have our 'group' come over to Kags's house this weekend and have fun!"
"And I'm all of a sudden okay with this?" I ask, irritated that she didn't ask me before.
"Well, I mean, only if it's okay with you. We could have me, you guys, Inu, Miroku, and...and...yeah!" Rin said, breathless.
"And what would benefit from that ?" Sango asks, not amused that she mentioned Miroku coming.
"A nice game of truth or dare. Finally...I can be the matchmaker!" Rin began to jump up and down again, spinning around as well. "So...what do ya think?"
"No way," I say. "I'll find out about Inuyasha on my own." And I will. I don't want to be pushed into anything.
"No for me, too. How many times do I have to tell you that I do not like Miroku?" Sango says angrily.
"Oh, come on, Sango. At least we know for sure that you like him. We can do some experimenting with Inu and Kags!" Rin is absolutely brimming with excitement.
Sango huffs and crosses her arms. "Fine. Kags?"
"I suppose it couldn't hurt...I mean, Inuyasha and Miroku are old friends anyway, aren't they?" I can't tell them the real reason I was okay with it. I want to seem completely innocent. But really, I'm hoping Inuyasha says it's okay...because then maybe, I can get a little closer to him.
"Yeah...yay!" Rin does one last jump and plops down onto the bed. "Let's go downstairs and tell Inu!"
With that, she bolts out of the room, Sango and I running after her.
So, Rin excitedly tells Inuyasha about what she has planned for us this weekend. She only says it's a way to "reunite" him and Miroku, and that they don't have to sleep at the house, just stay late. She doesn't mention the whole 'truth or dare' concept to him, and I'm sure she has a good reason for it.
I can tell Inuyasha is only paying attention to the television, because he blindly nods his head and Rin explodes with happiness.
"I'll see you tomorrow, 'kay Kags?" she says, pulling at Sango's arm.
"Yeah, me too!" Sango says, struggling against Rin's pull.
"I have lots of planning to do," Rin says, and evil grin on her face, and then she pulls Sango out of the house with her.
Well , I think. This should be interesting.
Next Time: Five: The Dares
Rin is obviously excited beyond belief when I see her walk in the door, notifying me that she got Mirolu to agree to come; but only because she thinks he likes Sango.
Sango just entered with a sigh and said, "Let's get this over with."
Rin smacked her arm. "Oh, come on, you know you like him. At least now we can get you two together."
Wow. Ok then...I went a completely different way with this than I had originally planned...but I was in a hyper mood and I wanted something wacky to bring them together...I'll hav fun writing the rest of this, lol ^^ anyway, thanks, and please review!
"So," he says. "What do you want to do today?"
