Chapter 2: What happened Kikyo?
First off, I would like to apologize it took me so long to update…I mean, it took me forever, like I don't know, but a good bit. I came into a lot of work though, for school, and I have also been having some family problems. My mom was going to divorce my step dad, but now she's giving him another chance, and I hate him to death, that's the short version, you don't need the rest. But I'm actually typing this at my grandma's house, but anyway… I will continue with the chapter.

“We are setting up camp!” Kagome said at the top of her lungs.
“If we keep going, we can get to the village by nightfall!” Inuyasha argued. They had all just faced a tremendously humongous bull youkai with a Shikon shard, and Kagome was complaining about being covered in filth. Inuyasha had his normal attitude.
“Please Inuyasha, I really need a bath, and Sango and I really need to catch up on girl talk.” Kagome pleaded. Miroku and Sango had gotten into another argument about Miroku hitting on other women while they were engaged, but Inuyasha didn't know that bit.
“What for?! You two have plenty of time to talk, hell, you talk all the time!” Inuyasha retorted.
“That is not what I mean, I mean talking about private stuff…alone!” Kagome was getting impatient with Inuyasha and the people surrounding them knew it.
Miroku decided to intervene and say, “Why don't we rest tonight Inuyasha, and then tomorrow we will make it in plenty of time to look for more rumors and such…”
“NO, we go to the village tonight…” Shippo looked at the arguing couple and sighed. With a grunt, he jumped up onto Miroku's soldier.
“Miroku…? Why do they always have to argue?” The kitsune looked at Miroku with his wide green eyes and pondered the answer he knew he was going to receive.
“It is one of the ways they show how much they like each other…” Wait for it… “You will understand when you are older.” Shippo sighed and looked at the arguing couple in just enough time to see the victor.
“Osuwari!” Inuyasha did a face plant and looked bewildered at the way the argument resulted, temporarily, he had forgotten the subduing spell…
“Kagome!” Inuyasha looked at the retreating figures of his friends towards the hot spring they had passed earlier. Kagome turned to Inuyasha and stuck out her tongue. Low in Inuyasha's chest was a growl, stating he hated this time of the month.
When the spell finally let up, he took his good old time walking towards the campsite, which the group already had set up. The fire was burning, the beds were prepared, and everyone was talking and laughing. Inuyasha sighed and plopped himself next to Miroku. When he sat down, Miroku looked over at him.
“What do you think we should have for dinner, Inuyasha?” Shippo ran over to Inuyasha and was preparing to go out and hunt with him, but Inuyasha just shook his head. He wasn't about to tell the others the scent he just caught in the air.
“Kagome, do you want to go take our bath now?” Sango said, noticing that Inuyasha wasn't planning on getting dinner anytime soon. “And Miroku, I suggest you get dinner, I don't think Inuyasha is up to it…” Sango did not look at Miroku when she spoke to him, just continued to look at Kagome.
“Sure Sango, I'm getting a little antsy for that hot water anyway. Do you want to come, Shippo?” Shippo looked from Kagome to Miroku and back. Then, after puffing out his chest, he shook his head.
“I am sorry, Kagome, but I need to be a man and help with the providing of food.” Kagome giggled and nodded. Shippo has been trying to not depend on the others as much lately, and doing more and more `man' things. Sango giggled along with her and they walked towards the spring. After a few minutes, Miroku stood and also walked in the direction of the spring, but in a different angle. Shippo glared at him.
“What? Shippo, calm yourself, you go be a man and find dinner.” Miroku continued to walk in the same direction.
“Miroku, they're going to get mad. I don't think I should let you go.” Shippo added.
“Now, now Shippo, I need to be a man, and gaze upon man's…uh, gift from Buddha.” He finished that with a smile and disappeared into the forest. Shippo's cheeks tinged pink and got up to leave, but noticed something was missing from the campsite. Kirara went with Sango, but why was he alone?
“Inuyasha?” Shippo looked around, but didn't see him. The hanyou's scent wasn't close by either. Shrugging his shoulders, Shippo followed the scent of a couple rabbits and a stream.
In another part of the forest, Kikyo stood against a tree, collecting souls. She heard rustling in the bushes and glanced that way, with a hand on her bow. But soon released it, sensing who it was. “It has been a while…Inuyasha.”
He stepped out of the bushes, hearing his name. “Kikyo…” She turned to look at him and smiled.
“I just came to ask you how Kagome is doing. She has not felt…any different than usual, has she. Or acting differently?” Inuyasha's eyes changed from a sorrowful look to a content look, which Kikyo noticed, but didn't comment.
“Why?” Inuyasha looked at Kikyo and got a suspicious look. “You didn't do anything to her, did you?!” Kikyo's eyes saddened.
“No, Inuyasha, I did nothing, but something has happened, not to her, but something else has occurred that makes me wonder if it is connected to her.” Kikyo turned to leave, but was stopped by Inuyasha's hand on her shoulder.
“Like what, because…in the battle against the bull youkai, her power seemed to be increased and she became a little irritable after that…what happened?” Inuyasha asked.
Kikyo just smiled and walked away, and only saying after her soul catchers took her into the air, “What happened, is none of your concern…”
“If it involves Kagome, it is my concern! …..Kikyo!” Inuyasha wanted to know what happened and was desperate. Kikyo was out of sight, and he sighed. Then he smelled something very familiar, and hoped to the gods she didn't come at the wrong time. “Kagome…”

It is a little short, and especially after such a long wait, so I'm going to start another chapter, like right now. Since I am at my granparents house, I can type non stop, and I don't have any school today or tomorrow. R&R!!
