The rest of the week went by quickly, and Inuyasha had seemed to make Kagome and his daily lunch a routine. Occasionally Sango, along with Miroku would join. Inuyasha, it had turned out was high school buddies with Miroku, which he had stated, was a pervert then too.
Kagome woke up on a very bright Saturday morning, her mom, Hitomi Higurashi, was making breakfast in the kitchen when Kagome walked in. “Hm…mom I was wondering bout something.” She started. “You know how I have a job now right?” she continued after a nod from her mom. “Well I decided I should get my own apartment, and maybe after I save up some money, my own house.” She finished. Her mom dropped the spoon she was holding and stammered, “Mov…move out?” The after ten awkward seconds she said, “I think that's a good idea, it's time you start being independent.” Kagome let out a sigh, relieved that her mom did not throw a fit. She gobbled up the delicious omelet and got into her silver Mercedes convertible. She had secretly checked out some for sale apartments in the newspaper last night. There was one that looked very interesting. It had three bedrooms, two washrooms including the master bedroom one, spacious living room, central heating and AC, and a modern kitchen, but the one thing that really got her interested was that it had a good view of the Tokyo Park. (A/N-I'm not even sure if that's the name) She had to check it out herself to see if it lived to its description.
She called the owner asking if she could go check the apartment out in 20 minutes, turned out that the owner was free, so she was there in a matter of seconds. The whole building was called, Lakeview, it had a doorman and very modern and lavishly decorated lobby. The apartment was on the 8th floor. The owner Ayame, was engaged and was moving in with her fiancé, Kouga so she decided to sell her apartment. When Kagome heard that she exclaimed, “Kouga-kun!?!” Ayame suddenly looked very protected and narrowed her eyes. “Why….how do you know him?” she asked. “Oh we were pretty close friends in high school, but after we went to separate universities it sorta fell out.” Kagome explained. Ayame's face softened and she murmured a soft “oh.”
The apartment was indeed very charming; it was also empty since Ayame had moved all her stuff already. The living room was, maybe not as big as Kagome had imagined, but was still okay it had a large balcony that shared the same view as the master bedroom. The master bedroom was decent size with a window seat that was indeed overlooking the park, and a bathroom was adjoined to the room. The two other bedrooms across the hall were quite small. Between the two rooms is the second bathroom (not adjoining). The kitchen had a small bar with two stools on one side. The fridge was pretty big and there was a stove with an oven. In a corner was a fair amount space that was, Kagome guessed, for a table. “I'll take it!” Kagome said, she didn't even bother looking at the other apartments that she had circled. She was very much in love with this one. She and Ayame talked about the price, which was a bit pricey but affordable, signed a few paper, and Ayame handed Kagome the keys. Ayame promised to keep in touch with Kagome, and she left. Kagome screamed and jumped around in the apartment. She called her parents and Sango to tell them about her new found home, and went to HomeDepot for paint and wallpaper. She spent the rest of the morning painting. She had decided on a colour scheme, Kitchen, bright morning light yellow with plain sand wallpaper, she wanted it to have a country style feeling. Her bedroom was to be forest green, with thin stripes of light green. One of the smaller rooms became the guest room, most likely going to be dominated by Sango, a light baby blue with royal purple wallpaper. The other room was to be an small movie room, she left it white with black wallpaper. She decided to paint the living room, hallway, bathrooms, and the rest of the apartment beige.
Sango arrived with Miroku and pizza at lunch. After ringing the doorbell twice they saw themselves staring at a paint-spattered Kagome grinning like a maniac. “We thought you might need some help with the painting so here we are.” Miroku said. Kagome pulled them in and after finishing the pizza, they all went to paint, well Miroku was to do the wallpapering because the girls insisted that it was too much work for their backs. They worked until eight, for dinner they had ordered in Chinese food. “I'm fucking tired.” Sango groaned. The three very pooped people lied on the ground. “Hm…I was thinking about going furniture shopping tomorrow, you know and check out some garage sales.” Kagome said. “We'll be there.” Sango said before Miroku said he had enough for today, so he instead just reached for the nearest female butt he could find, turned out it was Sango's. BAM, he was unconscious.
After Miroku woke up, listened to Sango's screaming, and looking at Kagome's sympathetic expression, the three friends left their newest accomplishment. Kagome got home, her current home, showered, bragged to her family about her new apartment, bonked Souta on the head for saying that it was going to be quiet for once after she leaves, and went to sleep.
