a/n: sorry of this chap ain't that great i'm still a little ill. Anyway i'm getting closer to the end, thank god!

I just wanted to say to Silverwolf halfbeast the reason Kagome didn't tell Inuyasha her name is because their families were fighting, back in the beginning of the story, so she's worried that he'll kill her if she tells him. i hope this helps... I know that isn't very good but when i started writing i didn't make a summary so i wasn't sure what i was doing... sorry.

Chapter twentyfour- Kagome's mistake

Sango couldn't believe that the silver haired demon and monk were once frineds of hers. Firstly the monk couldn't keep his hands to himself and she didn't care whether she supposedly loved him at one stage or not, no one touches her bottom.

The demon was quite anxious and wanted to get home as fast as possible, he tried to make Sango remember them as fast as possible.

It was when they told her their names that she started to believe, Miroku and Inuyasha. Their names were so familiar, like in her dreams and when she heard them aloud some of her memories came flooding back.

Inuyasha couldn't believe after all this time he finally found Sango, Miroku was close to tears. She had been in a small village not far from where Leon's kingdom once was and the forest where Jenny was found.

Now they were on their way home, Sango remembering more with each second. It was as if a veil had been covering her past and all at once it was taken away. She held the boomerang shaped weapon tightly and remembered once more that day so long ago when the only friend she had, the girl who had saved her life left and the ghost woman sent her on the journey to find her memories.

When Inuyasha returned he got the shock of a lifetime. Jenny was missing. Sesshomaru said she had been gone for as long as Inuyasha had been away and that worried the hanyou.

It was quite obvious who took her, and that infuriated Inuyasha even more, how dare that bastard take his mate? Didn't that wolf have any honour?

Inuyasha wanted to rush over there and break Koga's neck. But Miroku and Sango warned who tricky and mean that demon was. He would do anything to win.

So Miroku, Sango and Inuyasha decided to go after her. Inuyasha couldn't understand why Sango wanted to go, she had only returned home. Sango said it was because she hadn't had a good fight in ages, Inuyasha thought it was the friendship between them. She was even being nicer to Miroku.

Shippo had wanted to come but because he was so young Inuyasha thought it best to leave him, after a few whacks on the head Shippo thought so as well.

Koga growled at the girl who glared back at him from the corner of the room. She hadn't let him lay a single finger on her they day he brought her to his castle.

The other wolves laughed at Koga and patiently waited their turn to try the wild girl.

Kagome was furious, she could not believe her luck. She was getting sick and tired of all these drooling demons. She knew she did not have the strength the fight forever, even with her miko powers.

Kagome wasn't exactly sure what she was going to do. First she couldn't get past Koga and even if she did she would be attacked by a whole pack of demons outside. The only thing she could hope for was to be rescued.

Then for maybe the tenth time she thought about Inuyasha and quietly prayed for him to hurry up. She knew he could not hear her but she needed something to keep her sane and stop her from screaming.

She kept her eyes on Koga who continued to growl and clutch the scar she had recently made. Her grip tightened on the knife Koga had carelessly left on the table beside the bed. He thought she wouldn't fight back but he was dead wrong. She was sick and tired of being weak and afraid, she knew she would never have the courage to fight or stand up to Naraku but Koga was different.

She wondered why he was different while she stood in the corner of the room. He was strong, a demon, after things that made her shiver and she hated him, what made him different from Naraku, what gave her the courage to fight back?

Still looking at Koga she reached up with an empty hand and lightly, tentativly touched the marking on her neck. It was a scar that would never fully heal. A mark that made her Inuyasha's. She wondered if he knew that this meant that hey would be together forever. He wouldn't care if he was under a spell...

It was Inuyasha that made Koga different. Inuyasha was just as strong and cunning as the wolf demon and he had protected Kagome and made her feel stronger. Inuyasha, a demon, an enemy of her people. She shouldn't be thinking about him, she shouldn't be falling for someone under a spell... But she was...

Inuyasha, Sango and Miroku were met by a wall of snarling wolves and men all loyal to Koga. They obviously had orders to deal with Inuyasha and were cracking their knuckles in anticipation.

Inuyasha was impatient and enraged. He wanted to get through this as quickly as possible and even began to snarl himself. a/n: i'm not very good at battle scenes. Stepping in front of him dressed in her demon exterminator costume was Sango. She was the same old fighting self and was ready for battle.

She turned to them, a wicked smile on her face. "I'll distract them, you get moving"

She brought out the bomerang and threw it at the enemies who instantly leapt into the air. Inuyasha and Miroku easily passed the destracted demons and entered the huge castle that Inuyasha knew Jenny and Koga were in. He followed her scent up the stairs and through the halls, angry at the stentch of wolf.

When they turned the corner there was another group of demon and Inuyasha growled with growing impatience and rage. This time it was Miroku who stepped forward for the fight. He may have looked like an ordinary monk with a gold staff and monks robe but he had a secret weapon in his hand that he couldn't wait to use.

As Miroku unwrapped the beads around his wrists inuyasha passed the confused demons. When he turned another corner in this labyrinth of a castle he heard Miroku began battle with the Youkai.

The scent was getting stronger, both Jenny's and Koga's. Inuyasha could even feel the demon blood beginning to boil beneath his blood, his vision was turning a shade of red. When he finally found the room that he was sure they were within without thinking to knock or even looking at the door he unsheathed the Tetsaiga and it instantly transformed into a powerful weapon.

Angrily he smashed down the stone wall.

The moment the wall began to crumble Kagome and Koga froze. Both watched intently as the dust settled and a proud figure in red stepped through the hole created. In his clawed hand was the tetsaiga and his bright amber eyes looked like their was fire inside them.

Kagome resisted the urge to run to him and hug him with all her might, in case he was not real. She wanted to be hopeful for just a little longer.

Then he spoke and his voice was like music to Kagome's ears "I warned you Koga, to stay away from Jenny. Now there are no more chances left, if you wont leave her alone you will have to die"

He walked as arrogant and proud as ever though he seemed to be restaining himself, walking slowly stifly. Then she noticed the red tinge to his eyes.

Inuyasha decided this would be the end of his rival Koga, the end of all the troubles he caused. But Inuyasha was also worried that the demon in him, that wanted him to get revenge on Koga, that demanded he get revenge for going anywhere near his mate, he was afraid he would do something to Jenny and so he held the tetsaiga tightly, for it was all that kept his blood in check.

Koga got up and looked around futivaly "I don't think we should fight in here" he said edging towards the window "We put Jenny here, in danger. I don't think you want that"

Inuyasha didn't even turn to look at her instead said "No one will dare hurt Jenny"

Kagome/Jenny lowered her head, it was the spell again. It was only the spell that made him fight, not because he truly cared, it was a spell that bound him to her for protection. That was all...

Then Koga leapt from the window, Inuyasha quickly following. Even though they were high up neither were hurt when they landed. They were demons and a jump that could break a humans skull would do nothing to a demon. The two began to circle each other and Kagome watched fearfully from the window.

Then the two began to battle. Koga kicking and punching Inuyasha and obviously very fast while Inuyasha used the Tetsaiga and growled in rage at the wolf demon who wouldn't stop moving.

Kagome was worried as she watched, terrible scenarios kept playing through her mind, what if Inuyasha lost, what if he was killed. Never mind what would happen to her she only thought of Inuyasha. He didn't deserve to die because of a spell that he had no control over.

After a while, watching Inuyasha beginning to slow, she couldn't take anymore and decided to get down their and... She didn't know what she was going to do but she couldn't watch from so far away as they fought in the yard.

Inuyasha didn't like Koga and was all to happy to finally be rid of him but it wasn't such an easy task. Koga was faster and that kept him always out of reach of the tetsaiga.

"Had enough dog breath?" Laughed Koga.

Inuyasha's reply was a feral growl and though the smile on Koga's face didn't change his eyes gave away his worry. Inuyasha was more demon than normal and was getting stronger. Then Inuyahs caught Jenny's scent comming closer and for a moment he hesistated.

koga took the opportunity to kick the tetsaiga out of his clawed hand and it spun through the air and thudded into the dirt. For a minute all was still as Inuyasha's last hold on humanity began to slip. His fangs grew longer, his claws grew sharper and his eyes became blood red.

He laughed in a gruff animal voice and Koga's blue eyes widened with fear. Inuyasha would be much stronger now and out for blood. Koga eyes shoot to the top of his castle were a demon stood waiting for the comand.

Kagome flew down the stairs and through the halls, miracuously knowing exactly which way to turn. When she got to the hall she had to sneak past a group of demons. Many of them were unconcious but a few were still leaping at the woman with the bomerang. Kagome didn't have time to dwell of the familiar figure but was glad the demons were distracted.

Sango caught a glimpse of a girl, through the bodies of Koga's men but dismissed it as a dream. For how could Kagome, the princess from across the sea be here?

When she saw Inuyasha, attacking Koga relentlessly like a wild animal. She grew cold. His eyes were completly red and their were purple strips on his cheeks just like Sesshomaru. She was afraid, for him and what he had become. Would he go back to the sweet, arrogant Inuyasha she loved?

She tried to call to him with her mind 'Inuyasha please stop' but he did not hear. He didn't even seem to notice her. She clentched her fists in fustration as she tried again and realised that the reason he couldn't hear was because he wasn't listening, those times before he was listening to her. But this time it was only his instincts and she could not get through.

There was no one else around except for hera dn the two fighting. Miroku was lost in the halls and Sango was busy with the demon guards though Kagome didn't know this.

Now it was Koga's turn to tire and after a stumble Inuyasha's long claws sliced open his arm. He howled in pain and rolled across the dirt floor. Koga stood and glared at him, he knew he could not win this fight, not with Inuyasha so strong. He didn't want to die here and now.

Inuyasha seemed to tower over him and Koga was sure he was in a perfect spot. Kagome watched as Koga looked up at the top of the castle and nodded. Inuyasha seemed to be enjoying his opponents last moments in life.

She saw the archer reading an arrow and at first she thought 'An arrow cannot hurt Inuyasha' but Koga smiled and it it frightened Kagome. What if it was poisoned? Inuyasha was in danger.

There was no on else around. She had been the only one who saw. Inuyasha could not hear her telepathy anymore, not in his animal state. Inuyasha the hanyou she loved, was in great danger. She could not let him die but she had no way to warn him in time. The archer began to loose the arrow.

In the split second as the arrow sailed through the air towards the unsuspecting Inuyasha, Kagome made her decision.

"Inuyasha! Look out!" She screamed hoarsly.

After three years of silence and holding back all the screams and cries of saddness she spoke and even through the instincts to kill and taste blood Inuyasha heard her. He heard the voice he longed to hear for so long and he instantly leapt out of the way of the flying arrow.

For once the overly confident Koga was not fast enough and the deadly arrow thudded into his chest poisonous black fumes and blood stained the earth as he gurgled and fell. Shaking his head Inuyasha returned to normal and retriving the tetsaiga he ended the wolves life for once and for all.

Then he looked up at the woman who had saved his life with her voice. She was pale, as white as a ghost and her eyes were wide with horror. Without hesitating he wrapped his arms around her and held her as close as possible.

In a timid hoarse voice she said "He'll come for me now, all is lost" but she knew she couldn't have kept silent not if Inuyasha was in danger.

Then she fainted, from both fear and exhaustion. Inuyasha cradled her in his arms confused and worried, feeling the darkness that followed her in his dreams suddenly drawing nearer.



a/n: i want to explain that when she talks it doesn't mean the death of her family or midoriko or anything like that, it just means that Naraku will come after her. Midoriko is the one who put the spell on her family to protect them, only if kagome is dead/souless same with midoriko then they'll die.

also the arrow was poisoned... a poison that can kill a demon, i don't know what that might be though...
