Chapter 3

Her friends sat around her wide eyed as Kagome told them everything that happened between her and Inuyasha, not leaving out a single detail. “That jerk!” Yuka exclaimed. Kagome nodded and buried her face in the pillow that she clutched. “Kagome its going to be alright. Why don’t you think about dumping him and moving on with your life?” Eri suggested. Kagome looked up at her with tears stains against her cheeks and fell into thought. ‘Leave Inuyasha? I mean...I could since the jewel is complete, but I don’t want to...I...I-I love him.’

Kagome’s eyes widened as the realization hit her. She couldn’t leave Inuyasha behind because she loved him! At first she thought she was mistaken about her feelings but now it was clear. She couldn’t see herself being with no one but him. “I-I...can’t.” Her friends gasped.

&ldqu o;Why not Kagome? I mean...it’s not like you love the guy or anything,” Ayumi said absentmindedly. Everyone caught on except her and they gasped. “You love him...don’t you Kagome?” Eri asked placing a hand on Kagome’s shoulder. She nodded. ‘It’s like they can read my mind,’ she thought with a small smile.

“You love him?”

“Does he know?” Kagome shook her head. “Well then I think the only solution to this problem is for you to tell him. Is he coming over tonight?” Yuka asked. Kagome nodded again. “Well then that’s settled. You tell him how you feel tonight and if he doesn’t return your feelings you leave him to us,” Eri answered and pressed her thumb to her chest. Kagome smiled shakily. She hoped it didn’t come to that.

Yuka looked over to the alarm clock on Kagome’s desk and gasped. “Oh no! I’m going to be late for my date with Hojo!” she exclaimed. Kagome arched and eyebrow at her. “You go with Hojo?” she questioned. Yuka blushed. “Yeah...well...seeing that you were into this mystery fellow...and Hojo seemed to take the hint...he asked me out,” she said twiddling her fingers together. Kagome smiled happily and jumped up to hug her friend.

“AWW W!!! I’m so happy for you Yuka,” she said hugging her tightly. “You’re not angry?!” Yuka asked too shocked to hug Kagome back. Kagome held her back at arms length and smiled. “Of course not. Like you said I wasn’t into Hojo like that. But you guys gone ahead and go. Inuyasha will be here soon and I want to get

my wits about me before he gets here.” “Inuyasha? Is that his name?” Ayumi questioned. Kagome blushed. “Um yeah. But oh! Look at the time you’ve gotta be going!” she said quickly pushing her friends from her room and down the stairs towards the front door.

“ Alright then bye Kagome!” Yuka exclaimed as they made their way out the front door. Kagome waved to them as they walked towards the shrine steps and disappeared down them. Kagome entered back into the house and closed the door. “Kagome dear, dinners ready,” her mother called from the kitchen. Kagome entered the kitchen and took her place at the table next to her brother Souta who was playing his Game boy video game. “Souta, you know its rude to play that thing at the table,” Mrs. Higurashi scolded.

Souta sighed and put the game in his pocket and picked up his chopsticks as his mother sat a plate in front of him. “Alright! Sweet and Sour shrimp,” he said cheerfully before plopping a shrimp into his mouth. Kagome picked up her chopsticks too as her mother placed her plate down in front of her and she began to dig in. “Kagome, I’m putting a plate in the microwave for Inuyasha dear. Is he still asleep?” Mrs. Higurashi asked. Kagome shook her head as she finished chewing her food so she could speak. “No, he went back to the feudal era. He said he won’t be returning until before the sunsets.” Mrs. Higurashi nodded and placed the plate into the microwave before joining everyone else at the table.

“Is something wrong ji-chan? You’ve been awfully quiet this afternoon.” “No, nothings wrong. Just been a bit tired lately; think I may be coming down with something.” “Oh! I hope I didn’t give it to you ji-chan,” Kagome said finishing off her last bit of rice. “Don’t worry Kagome-chan. I’m sure its nothing.”

Inu yasha’s eyes widened and he pulled away from the youkai woman in shock. “You can make me into a full demon?” he asked. She smirked again and closed her eyes shrugging. “In a cinch. But theirs one thing I warn you about. Once you make the decision about becoming a full demon, I can not undo the spell for 300 hundred years so you must be absolutely sure that this is what you want.” Inuyasha looked away from her and down to the ground in thought.

He wanted more than anything to become a full demon, but he still felt he needed time to think it over. “When do I give you give you my final decision?” he asked. “You can meet me at this very spot tomorrow night when the moon is high in the sky. Then you will tell me whether you’re willing to rid yourself of these ridiculous human emotions and become the demon you truly wish to be. That, or you can leave one of the girls and break her heart,” she said slowly backing up towards the lake until she was standing waist deep within it. A sudden burst of white light surrounded her, causing Inuyasha to cover his eyes with his arm and she slowly began to disappear.

“Will you willing put aside the feelings of others to accomplish your greatest dreams is left up to you and only you Inuyasha.”

When Inuyasha removed his arm from his face she was gone. ‘Wait. How did she know my name?’ he thought. But it soon left him as he began to wonder what she had told him. Could he really put aside both Kagome and Kikyou to become a full youkai.

Inuyasha thoughts were interrupted as the sound of something flowing through the air caught his ear and he looked into the sky seeing about 10 of Kikyou’s soul collectors flying towards the middle of the forest near the bone eaters well. Without as second thought Inuyasha took off after them putting all thoughts of becoming a full youkai into the back of his mind.

As he arrived into the clearing where the well sat, he stopped and looked to Kikyou who sat on the lip of the well looking his way. “I knew you would come, Inuyasha,” she said coldly. “Kikyou,” Inuyasha mumbled as he walked towards her. Kikyou stood from the well and gazed into his eyes as he stopped in front of her. “Inuyasha, about that promise about you going to hell with me, I no longer need it. I have decided that I longer hold a grudge against you and wish to travel around the lands helping other villages in need now that Naraku is dead,” she said placing a hand to his cheek. Inuyasha sighed and placed a clawed hand upon her softly. “Kikyou. I—,” he was cut off as she placed a finger to his lips silencing all words that he wished to speak.

Moving closer to him, she stood onto her tip toes and pressed her lips to his. Inuyasha sighed into the kiss and wrapped his arms around her waist. Kikyou wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in closer as he deepened the kiss by sliding his tongue in between her lips.

The kiss electrified as their tongues continued battling with each other and old passions between the lovers was awakened once again. All hate for the other dissipated and changed into a growing need for each other. A cool breeze filtered around them sending their hair into tangled waves, but neither paid any mind. Soon, though, they both parted for air gazing into the others eyes as if gazing into the others soul.

Without a word, Inuyasha lifted Kikyou into his arms bridal style and raced off into the woods towards a secluded area where no one could bother them.

He softly laid her against the grown and once again their lips connected in heated passion. Inuyasha broke away for a second to remove his undershirt leaving his chest completely bare for Kikyou to view and she gently ran her hands up his chest and back around his neck as he came back down, kissing her again. All thoughts of becoming a full youkai and Kagome left his mind, for the moment as the two kissed feverishly. Inuyasha broke away from her lips and began trailing kisses down her jaw down to her neck where he kissed and sucked it softly. Kikyou moaned and buried her hands deep with in his silver mane as a heat began to engulf her body in soft tremors.

Inuyasha sat up long enough to remove her haori and hakama leaving her completely exposed to his piercing gaze. He eyed her over, his eyes drifting over the small curl of black hairs that covered her woman hood up to the curve of her hips and the flatness of her stomach, up to her full breasts until finally meeting her gaze again. Leaning down he took her right nipple into her mouth and suckled on it while he massaged her other breast with his free hand. Kikyou moaned and arched into his mouth, licking her lips as they became dry and gripped tighter onto his hair.

After he had made sure her breasts had been seen too, he removed his hakama and moved back up her body and positioned his erect manhood at her entrance. “Ready?” he asked. The flushed woman nodded and Inuyasha slowly slid into her. She gasped and arched her back as Inuyasha began a slow steady rhythm causing the heat deep inside her to grow at an alarming rate. “Inuyasha,” she moaned, wrapping her legs around his waist as his pace picked up. Inuyasha hissed, sensing his release near, and dug his claw into the grass on either side of her head. Small beads of sweat built up on his brow as his pace quickened even more. “Fuck,” he growled.

Finally their release came and Kikyou screamed as Inuyasha released all he had into her with a howl. He collapsed to the side of her, so as not to crush her, his breathing rapid and deep. Kikyou too laid breathlessly on her side next to him and ran her hand against his chest. Inuyasha grabbed his undershirt and placed it over them, since he had left his haori in the modern times with Kagome. Soon they both fell asleep as the sun began to set at the far end of the forest.

“Wher e is he?” Kagome wondered sadly as she placed her pencil down upon the desk that she sat at. Inuyasha had told her he would return before sun down and it was now 9:00 p.m. After dinner was over Kagome had gone and taken a shower and changed out of Inuyasha’s haori that, now lay neatly folded upon her bed, and into a pair of pink silk pajama’s. She had been some what surprised when she had emerged from the shower and found him still missing, but had sat down at her desk to work on her studies until she was sure he would arrive. Yet in still there was still no sign of the hanyou and she was becoming worried. ‘I hope he’s alright.’ Getting up from the desk, she climbed into bed under her covers and picked up her romance novel.

Surely he would be back before she read a couple of chapters...right?

Back in feudal japan, Inuyasha suddenly started awake and looked down to the woman sleeping next to him. But upon his sudden movement she soon awoke too. “Inuyasha?” she asked. He looked down at the grass and sighed. “I have to get back to Kagome,” he mumbled. Kikyou dropped her gaze to the ground as well. “Alright then. I’m feeling slightly weak after our...session...and need more souls. I WILL see you again Inuyasha,” she proclaimed as she placed a hand to her cheek. Inuyasha lent down and placed a chaste kiss upon her lips before the both stood and began dressing.

Once she was dressed, Kikyou called upon her soul collectors who surrounded her and slightly lifted her from the ground. “Until we meet again Inuyasha,” she called as the soul collectors lifted her into the air and out of sight. Inuyasha sighed and bowed his head as he clinched his fists so tightly he began to draw blood. ‘I doubt it Kikyou. I really doubt it.” Looking into the sky one last time, Inuyasha took off back towards the bone eaters well and leapt inside.

After reading a couple of pages from the romance novel, Kagome had fallen asleep with her arm hanging over the side of the bed and the book clutched slightly in her hand. It wasn’t until a shadow fell upon her that her closed eyes fluttered and slowly opened. The first thing she saw was a pair of blank golden eyes, so she panicked and used the book as a weapon to knock her attacker away. Inuyasha yelped and fell back against the floor, sitting up with a hand to his swelling cheek. “What the hell did you do that for?!!” he exclaimed.

Ka gome blushed embarrassedly and threw the book onto the bed before getting up. “Inuyasha, I am so sorry. You scared me,”she said closing her eyes and running and hand through her bangs. “Well shit you didn’t have to pummel me with a damn book,” he growled. Kagome looked down at him and frowned. “Well you shouldn’t have been sneaking into my room late at night and then getting really close to my face. What are you doing back so late anyway?” she questioned. Inuyasha ‘keh’d’ and picked ups haori from her bed. “I needed to take care of something,” he said putting the haori on.

Kagome sniffed the air and quickly plugged her nose. “You weed tu take care ob somethink else too. You stink,” she exclaimed. Inuyasha glared at her, but she paid no heed as she pushed him towards her bathroom. “What the hell?!!” he exclaimed as Kagome moved around him and turned on her shower. “You get in there and take a bath while I get you some clothes and heat up some food. Make sure you wash your hair with that shampoo too,” she said pointing to a bottle on her shower rack. Inuyasha ‘keh’d’ again and started getting undressed. Kagome turned her back and waited until she heard him slip into the shower behind her dark shower curtain before turning around and picking up his clothes. “I’m going to go and place these in the washer for you,” she called. “Whatever.”

Kagome rolled her eyes and walked out of the room, down the steps and into the laundry room. She quickly placed Inuyasha’s clothing into the washer and placed some detergent on them before turning it on. After closing the lid she made her way into the kitchen and turned on the microwave so that she could heat Inuyasha’s food. She took a seat at the kitchen table and waited patiently for the food to finish but began to wonder about the hanyou in her shower. ‘I wonder what really took him so long to get back,’ her eyes saddened, ‘he was probably with Kikyou. No, I know he was with Kikyou.’

Even though she had promised her friends that she would, she didn’t know if she would be able to confess her feelings to him now that she knew for a fact he was with Kikyou. She was startled from her thoughts by the sound of the microwave alarm and got up removing the warm plate from the microwave. ‘Lets see if the two timing jerk is through,’ she thought walking up the steps. Upon entering the room, she was met by the hanyou standing in the middle of her room with absolutely no stitch of clothes on. She ‘eeped’ and covered her eyes as a blush spread across her cheeks and she blindly made her way into the room.

“I-I&r squo;m sorry I-I forgot to get the clothes o-out for y-you,” she stuttered as she made it to her dresser drawer and looked down at only it as she looked for a pair of boy boxer, that she like to sleep in sometimes, and looked for a pair that would fit him. “Here,” she said turning to him and looking only into his eyes and not down. Inuyasha rolled his eyes irritably and took the shorts from her. That’s when Kagome noticed his hair was dripping wet, but clean none the less of twigs, leaves and grass. “Inuyasha! You’re getting the carpet wet!” she exclaimed and pushed him back into the bathroom after he had placed on the boxers. “Hey!!” he cried out as she forced his head over the tub and wrung out his hair.

She then reached into her linen closet and grabbed a towel wrapping it around his hair to dry it even more. “Now, I’m going to blow dry it for you,” she replied, forcing him to sit on the toilet. Kagome plugged the blow dryer into the wall and took some of Inuyasha’s hair into her hand as she turned it on. Inuyasha jumped and tried to move away, but Kagome had a good grip on his hair and forced him back down. “Inuyasha, its not that bad!” she yelled over the loudness of the blow dryer. Inuyasha’s ears laid flat against his head and glared almost hatefully at the noisy machine wishing he could get it away from Kagome and break it without being ‘sat’.

Kagome released his hair, deciding she was getting no where, and turned it on full blast and pointed it at Inuyasha’s head causing his damp hair to flutter everywhere. Irritated by his hair Inuyasha shook his head as a dog would sending water onto Kagome. “Inuyasha!!” she giggled. He looked up at her and gave her a toothy smirk as she glared playfully at him.

After about 15 minutes of blow drying his hair was completely dry. “Do you want me to brush the knots out for you?” Kagome asked as she took her brush from the medicine cabinet. Inuyasha gave one nod before walking out of the bathroom and into her room where he sat down on the floor in front of her bed. Kagome cut the light off in the bathroom and closed the door before walking into her room finding the hanyou sitting on the floor.

“You’re going to have to sit in the chair at my desk; your hair is too long for me brush with you sitting on the floor.” Inuyasha didn’t argue as he got up and sat down at her desk and watched her in the large mirror as she came to stand behind him. Kagome looked at him in the mirror once before looking down and taking some of his hair into hand and gently running the brush over it. “What did you need to take care in the feudal era?” Kagome asked. She spoke so quietly Inuyasha’s ear had to swivel her way in order to hear her. “Stuff,” he said plainly. Kagome frowned, but didn’t ask anymore questions.

Inuyash a, sensing her distress, closed his eyes and sighed before opening them and looking at himself in the mirror. “I met a youkai today, but she wasn’t any ordinary youkai.” Kagome looked at him in the mirror. “What do you mean?” Inuyasha turned his amber eyes to her reflection in the mirror. “She was one of those water youkai, but I could smell and tell she was evil; her aura was full of it.” Kagome moved to another spot on his head that held knots and softly began brushing them loose. She was often surprised at how soft his hair was and ran her hand through it in a combing motion.

“Wha t did she say?” she asked.

When Inuyasha didn’t say anything right away, Kagome looked back into the mirror at him and found him staring at her with a blank expression. “Inuyasha?” He seemed to have snapped back to himself as his eyes focused on her and he sighed. He seemed to be doing that a lot lately.

“She said she can turn me into a full youkai.”

Kagome stopped mid brush and stared at him wide eyed. “A full youkai? But I thought you were going to use the shikon,” she said placing the hand that held the brush onto his shoulder. Inuyasha looked to his left and closed his eyes. “I decided that I didn’t want to use the shikon, because Kaede-baba said that if we used it, there would be no way for you to travel in between the times.

Kagome nodded and moved her hand to start brushing his hair again, when Inuyasha grabbed her wrist causing her to look at him. “Kagome. When I go to make my wish tomorrow, I want you there with me,” he murmured softly. Kagome smiled. “Of course I will. But are you sure you can trust her? What if it’s a trap?” Inuyasha shrugged. “I’m willing to take my chance. As I said I sensed evil about her, but I didn’t sense any real threat.”

Kagome nodded and tried to pull away from him to finish his hair, but he tightened his grip on his head. She looked at him questioningly. “There’s something else I wanted to ask you,” he replied. Kagome nodded and waited for him to finish. “After I become a full demon I want you to stay with me in the feudal era.”

Kagome&rsqu o;s eyes widened. “Inuyasha.” Smiling happily with tears in her eyes Kagome nodded. He didn’t know how long she had been waiting for him to say that and now the courage to tell him her feelings returned. “But Inuyasha, I thought you had a promise to go to hell with Kikyou,” she reminded. Inuyasha exhaled then pulled her around the chair by her wrist and into his lap. “That’s something else I wanted to tell you. I...I did meet with Kikyou early tonight.”
