Chapter 5

A New Objective
Consequences
and
Repercussions

This chapters name is A New Objective, Consequences and Repercussions
Just in case it doesn't show up right when I post the chapter.
Well, here is the next chapter. Myoga will definitely be in here for a bit for sure. Maybe
he will be the one to reveal the New Objective. What do I mean by a new objective? Myoga
will tell you soon enough. But just what are the Consequences and Repercussions? You'll
find that out soon enough, too. Well, I gotta go and let you read the chapter now if you
actually want to and read the story. If truth be told, the last chapter was supposed to be this
chapter, but then I started thinking about Izayoi and Miroku and everything just went from
there.Well, I'm gonna get on with the chapter.
Just to say, if you like this story enough to keep reading it, then review, because I'm
not getting any and I know that people are reading this. So if I don't get any reviews soon
then I might just stop writing my story on here. I know that you people out there are
reading and I would really appreciate it if you'd review because I'm not gonna write
something I'm not getting any feed back on. Please, please, please, I'm begging you
here to review. It's not too hard. Please do it, or else....bum bum bum......

He hopped across the lands, in search of his master. He must get to him soon, tell him the
things he needed to be told.

The night of the full moon of the twenty first day of the twenty first year. He must know the
importance, the danger of this day. He must know the consequences and repercussions.

Of course he couldn't let his master go on not knowing this. His master must make his
journey, must gather the items, must make the remedy to his oncoming serious condition.

He must supress his youkai that would be fighting to overcome him forever. This must be
done.

Myoga the flea, though tired beyond belief, continued his journey, for he didn't have
that much time at all.

His master needed him, little did he know.

"Oh Miroku, please don't leave us," the swarm of girls begged as Miroku and the others
prepared to leave.
He spotted Sango out of the corner of his eye. The look she was giving him told him that
he'd better get away from those girls before she used her Hiraikotsu to take off every one
of their heads.
"I'm sorry ladies. I must take my leave with my friends." He had asked every one of them
to bear his children. All of them either said they were just too young for that type of
commitment
or that they already has somebody else in mind. But that still made him wonder why they
were standing there begging him not to leave and treating him like they were.
"Let's leave guys," Kagome said as she went behind Sango and began to push her
forward.
"He'll catch up with us soon enough."
They got halfway down the road when they heard numerous loud 'SMACKS' and then
yells of 'PERVERT!' The next thing they knew, Miroku was running towards them as fast
as he could with the girls who all but loved him before running after him like an angry
mob.
"Miroku, what did you do?" InuYasha asked as ran down the road.
"Do you need to ask?" Sango said as she saw Miroku's beaten up face.
"Ah, but it was well worth the beating they gave me. It was good while it lasted, like this,"
he said as his hand sought out a new target.
"Lecher!" Sango called just before she slapped him.
"Will he ever learn his lesson?" Shippo asked as he shook his head in shame.

They were near Kaede's village. They just had to pass through this town and they'd be
about halfway there. It was around twelve o'clock in the afternoon and Kagome
recognized the upcoming village.
"Hey InuYasha," Kagome said as she pointed at the village below the hill. "Haven't we
been there recently?"
InuYasha looked at the village. "Yeah. But something just doesn't feel right.
Something's changed since the last time we were here."
"You're right," Kagome said. "Something about the aura surrounding the village. It seems
almost....sad."
They hurried down the hill and entered the town. The villagers recognized InuYasha and
Kagome as the two who had delivered the package to the village priestess, Faruka, not
long ago. They all looked like they were getting ready for a funeral.
"What happened here?" Kagome asked as she stopped a village girl.
"Hey, you're the two who visited Faruka the other day," she said as she hung her head low.
"I'm afraid that tradgedy has indeed striken. Faruka has been murdered."

"What?!" they all said in unison.

"Why don't you follow me to her hut. I'll tell you what happened there."

Once they were inside the hut, the young girl motioned for them to sit down as she
prepared to tell them the story.
"It's a shame that this happened. Faruka had gone into the forest to gather special herbs,
though she never told anybody exactly where in the forest these herbs grew. It was around
an hour after she left that we heard a scream loud enough to shatter glass. Of course we
went out looking for her, but we didn't know where she was in the forest. It was about a
week after, which was yesterday, that we finally found her body in the special herb garden,
already rotting. She died a horrible death, indeed. And what am I to do now? She was
training me to become a priestess. Am I to give up my training now that she is gone?"

Kagome could sense plenty of spiritual power radiating off of the girl. It seems that she
had been very close to finishing her training when this happened.

"Forget about it," Kagome said as everybody in the room looked at her, surprised. "You
were
close enough to finishing your training to be considered a priestess. With Faruka gone,
they
will all look to you for the help that Faruka provided. Do you think you can do this?"

"I...I guess so," the girl said.

"What I want to know," Sango said as she changed the current subject. "Is who or what
killed her."

"You have presented a very good question. If truth be told, we don't exactly know
ourselves."

InuYasha got that same chill down his spine that he had the day that sinister wind first blew.
Something wasn't right here, and he knew it. But what exactly wasn't right, he couldn't figure
out.

"Rumika, Kido has gotten hurt. Please help us," a little girl said as she stuck her head inside
the hut.

"Okay, Yucie. Well, I must go now. Are you going to stay for the funeral?"

"No, we must take our leave. We have to be somewhere before nightfall."

"I see. Well, it was nice meeting all of you."

They said their goodbyes and were back on the road. Around three o'clock, they had
reached
the village. Kaede had taken the news of Faruka's death badly and had immediatly fallen ill.

"Sango, can you watch after Kaede for me. I have to go home tomorrow."

"Of course, but how long will you be gone?"

"Well, I've been gone for so long, so I suppose around maybe four days."

"Over my dead body," InuYasha said from his corner of the room.

"What?"

"You ain't stayin' that long, wench."

"Yes I am. I haven't been there in a long time. I have business to take care of. And
besides, you said yourself that we wouldn't be leaving to go looking for jewel shards again
for about a week, so what's wrong with me going home?"

"You just can't."

"I can and I will."

In the end, Kagome won the arguement, but InuYasha won on the arguement that he was
coming with her. She didn't really mind it when he went with her, except the fact that he
loved to annoy her cat, Buyo.

"And you better leave the cat alone this time."

"Keh."

"What do you mean 'Keh'?" Kaogme asked as they headed towards the well. "I want a
yes."

"Keh. Whatever."

She supposed that his answer was good enough, but still intended to keep an eye on him.

#-=~*::(xXoOoXx)::*~=-#

"And what kind of information do you think I would require?"

"Have you ever heard the story about...Kurosuke?"

"Yes. I have heard the disgraceful tale of Kurosuke....my uncle."

"Yes. He was your father's brother, but despised him more than anything."

"And your point is?"

"Have you heard everything about it? Up to the point where he swore to come back and get
his revenge, even on you?"

"I have indeed. Ichimori....What are you getting to?"

Ichimori joined him by the window. Seeing the human child playing happily shocked her,
but she couldn't help but smile. But she turned serious again very quickly.

"He's returned. Kurosuke is back."

"What?!"

"Sesshomaru. Surely you can't tell me that you haven't sensed it? This sinister wind that
has started to blow. I payed a visit to the cave where he was sealed, just in case. There is
no denying the fact that he is indeed free."

"And you came to tell me this, why?"

"Because, Sesshomaru, he shall be after you, after these lands, after everything he was
never allowed. I merely wished to inform you of the approaching danger. I shall also alert
your brother, what was his name? InuYasha, I believe."

She watched him think her words over.

"Well, since I have said everything I have come to say, I think I shall take my leave."

She turned to leave. "Just one more thing Sesshomaru."

He said nothing, letting her know that he was listening.

"I saw that human girl playing in the court yard. Maybe you are more like your father than I
originally thought. Don't lose that."

And with that, Ichimori left. But her words stayed with Sesshomaru, her warnings about
Kurosuke's return. She may have a hard time with InuYasha, this he knew.

InuYasha was too hard headed and self assured. But his brothers business was none of
his.

He had his own problems to take care of at the moment. Like how Rin was picking the
sleep powder flowers in the garden again. She was knocked out laying in a bed of them.

He had warned her not to mess with those flowers. He sighed. Why were children so
difficult?

#-=~*::(xXoOoXx)::*~=-#

Myoga rushed through the clearing. His master was headed towards the dried well, he
could tell. He must reach him before he left for Kagome's world. This couldn't wait.

"I told you I wouldn't mess with the stupid cat!"

"And that's the same thing you told me last time! And you still messed with him anyway!"

"Yeah right, and I'm a little doggy with fleas," he said.

Just then, a certain flea reached his neck and began to drink his blood.

"Ouch!" InuYasha said just before he hit his neck hard, flattening the old flea in the process.

"Master InuYasha!" Myoga said as he hopped into his masters hand. "I have important
things to tell you!"

"Now who's the little doggy with fleas?" Kagome asked as she laughed at him.

"Keh. Whatever, wench. Now what do you want, Myoga?"

"Master InuYasha. You are in danger! The twenty first day of the twenty first day is fast
approaching!"

"What do you mean?"

"Your birthday you dummy! And your twenty first none the less."

"Your point is?"

"Maybe we should join the others so he can tell us," Kagome said with a sigh. She really
wanted to go home right now, but this seemed way more important.

They went to Kaede's hut and Myoga got comfortable on InuYasha's shoulder.

"Okay, we're here. Now spill it flea before I flatten you again."

"No need for violence master. I've come a long way to warn you of the twenty first day of
the twenty first year. Your next birthday is on a full moon night. And all hanyou's, on their
twenty first birthdays, begin to lose their human sides and begin to be taken over by their
youkai. But if you do as I tell you, then by the time that night comes around, you can
supress your youkai."

"Keh. And what makes you think I don't want to be a full youkai?"

"I know so, master. Do you remember the blood thirsty demon you were before? The one
that mercilessly slaughtered those human bandits? You'll become that kind."

'So InuYasha will lose his human side and any knowledge of who he is to his youkai side?
That definitely isn't good,' Kagome thought.

"So what can we do to stop this from happening?" Kagome asked quietly.

"That's just it. I have no idea. But I do know of a certain book that can tell the way of
supressing the youkai side of hanyou's."

"Well? Where is this book?"

"Um....I don't think you'll like the answer master InuYasha. You see....It's um..."

"Spit it out!" InuYasha demanded as he was fast losing his patience with the old flea.

"It's in your brother's library!" Myoga blurted out as InuYasha's finger came down to squash
him.

InuYasha's finger stopped as Myoga's words sunk in.

"Oh hell no! Forget about it. I'll drop dead before I go to that bastards creepy castle."

"You must Master! It's the only way to find out the remedy. You must complete your new
objective. If you don't, then you shall suffer the consequences and repercussions!"

"You have to do it InuYasha," Miroku said as he watched the hanyou carefully.

"Miroku's right. You have no choice," Sango added.

"I agree with them, right Kilala?" Shippo said. Kilala meowed in encouragement.

"They are all right InuYasha. You must do this. It's the only choice," Kagome added.

"I ain't going to Sesshomaru's damn castle!"

"You have to InuYasha. And besides, I'll go with you. I'll be with you the whole time."

"You sure? I thought that you wanted to go home."

"I am going home. We'll leave right after we come back. Besides, I need to get supplies
for the trip like....ramen maybe."

InuYasha's ears twitched.

"Keh!"

#-=~*::(xXoOoXx)::*~=-#

Kasuya entered the room, successful on her mission he assumed.

"Master Kurosuke, they are here and ready to serve you."

"Good, Kasuya, very good. Send them in."

Demons. The most faithful of his servants had assembled in that room. Kasuya, Katami,
Cho, Hatsu, Hitomi, and Hirotoko.

Kasuya came forward.

"Master, rumors have been spreading around the castle. The servants talk of our
collaboration with youkai. But they have not yet suspected anything of you."

"Good. I expect for you to take care of the matter, Kasuya."

She bowed to him.

"As you wish master."

"Katami."

"Master?"

"I wish for you to deliver a message for me to my nephew, Sesshomaru."

It couldn't hurt for him to at least tell Sesshomaru that he was after what was rightfully his.

Kurosuke had also heard that his brother had mated with a human woman, producing a
hanyou child. And he had called Kurosuke a disgrace?

"Hitomi."

The leaf green haired demon stepped forward.

"Gather all the information on the one they call InuYasha and find me one of Higurashi
descent."

She nodded her head in understanding and left with Kitami.

That left Cho, Hatsu, and Hirotoko to take care of the other matters at hand.

"You three. I want you to search for Sacred Jewel shards."

With his team gone on their missions, he drifted back into thought about her, Hagime. He
knew that it was nonsense, to think about her when she betrayed him. And yet, he was
compelled to think about her and to think about his revenge on her and Kyo's descendants.
He guessed that she probably ended up marrying Kyo, anyway. He forced his mind off of
her.

#-=~*::(xXoOoXx)::*~=-#

Kikyo sat on a fallen tree, deep in thought. She thought about InuYasha, she thought about
Kagome. And then it hit her. The reason the name Higurashi seemed so familar to her.

She knew it to be Kagome's last name. Would Ichimori warn the two of the oncoming
danger? She found it ironic, how if everything worked out a certain way, then the
descendants
of the Inu no Taisho and Kyo might just defeat Kurosuke all over again.

But the way Kurosuke had looked at her when they first met. It just didn't sit well with her.
Maybe she should pay Kurosuke a visit again? And if he was a demon, then why did he look
human when she met him? She was guessing that it was probably some kind of
concealment charm. This Kurosuke intrigued her. Why did he have a sacred jewel shard?
She sensed it's presence in the castle. She knew not what he was up to, but she was sure
that the answers to her questions would be found out.

Another chapter has come and gone. This chapter is about the size of
the very first chapter I posted. Hopefully, all of my chapters will be
about this size which is a lot to ask of myself, but I will try. Well, until
next chapter. I left you lots of clues. Did anybody guess exactly who
Kurosuke's older brother was? Gee, Miroku sure is popular with the
ladies these days, isn't he? I don't think Sango likes that at all.
And I might drop you a hint, that when Kurosuke sees Kagome for the
first time, he might be quite surprised. Well, next chapter
should be up soon. Bye.

Next Chapter: Home Again

~*Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha or any of the characters.
Though I do give my undying gratitude to Rumiko Takahashi
creating it. But I do own any original characters that I may
bring into the story.*~
