Ch 6

Kagome immediately tore her arm free, however it wasn't as easy as expected, but the 3rd times a charm. Which earned her a growl, all she knew of men confirmed that they were evil; this one seemed no different. And knowing there were males in this land obviously discredited Rin's hope that this was an enchanted land.
“Great” she murmured. “Just great.”
“Kikyo, would you kindly remove the rest of your arrow so I can kill you,” he demanded sarcastically.
Kagome finally turned to the voice. A young man pinned to the tree by the broken arrow shaft throw his heart, trapped by the growth that wound about him and the tree. His finely chiseled face though still undefined in youth, was a tad too pale. Hair the color of moonlight haloed about him, ear that looked like they belonged on a cat were the same alluring color, twitched in agitation.
Dazed as if in a spell she stepped onto the roots to come eye to eye with him. Instead of pulling, the arrow out her hands snaked up and reverently touched the small triangle ears. Dumbly she realized he was a hybrid like herself, and wondered if the fates had conspired to bring them together. Not that it mattered, she quickly assured herself, because it wasn't going to happen.
“Bitch!” he exclaimed jerking his head back. This resulted in it colliding solidly with the tree. “What the hell are you doing Kikyo?”
“I've found another one!” another male screeched from behind her. “And this one is freeing Inuyasha!”
She wasn't sure how it happened but she found herself seized by two overly large men. The man who had spoken just a moment ago came around to stand in front of her though he kept a wary eye on the boy pinned to the tree.
“Why have you come?” he demanded.
“What the hell are you talking about man?! That's Kikyo, your priestess,” the boy informed them.
“Oh this is defiantly not an enchanted land, well at least not in a good sense.” She mumbled, causing the men to shake her and demand to know what she said.
“And what strange clothes is it you wear?”
“Yeah Kikyo I can see your legs” the white haired boy sneered with a snake like grin.
Snapping, anger surging through her voice she told them, “Oh for gods' sake! My name is Kagome. Kagome!”
“Huh?” the boy tilted his head back a bit, his nose working. He lowered his head, his eyes boring intently into hers, opening his mouth as if to speak, but he didn't have a chance before she they hurriedly dragged her away.

Sango and Rin were already there, seated hands' tied behind their backs. Kagome was quickly and roughly followed suit. Then she was pushed down to join her friends.
An old woman, with an eye patch, carrying an urn came toward them. “Why have ye taken my sister's likeness?” she demanded tossing handfuls of salt at Kagome.
“Your sister wouldn't happen to be Kikyo, would she?” her voice dripped sarcasm as she shook her head to shake some of the salt from her hair. The older woman didn't answer but continued throwing salt and repeating her question.
“Who's Kikyo?” Rin and Sango demanded. “Her name is Kagome!”
“Ka…go…me.” The older woman said slowly as her last throw came much more hesitantly. Her eye locked on Kagome, she felt the air shift as the elder probed for the truth.
“They were running around in Inuyasha's forest! They must be demons,” one man shouted
“And that one woke him!” another said.
“Why have you done so? Be you forest nymphs?”
Before she had finished her sentences, Kagome had her hands freed though they did not become so unscathed. When they waited for her answer to the question, she leapt up, charging the woman. Tackling her to the ground Kagome straddled the others much wider rib cage. Kagome's right arm was next to the woman's head, her left fore arm was under her captives ample chin, pressing roughly against her windpipe.
“Lady Keade!” villagers screamed
“Tell them to untie my friends.” Kagome whispered snarl struck like icicles straight into Keade old soul. “Now” Kagome commanded adding pressure to her neck.
“Free the others.” Keade's voice was strong cutting through the rising panic and showing none of her own fear. Her order was followed and soon the other two were flanking their friend.
“Perhaps I was wrong earlier,” Rin admitted softly.
“Perhaps” Kagome couldn't help the small smile. “We'll discus it later. We need to get out of here. Run, I'll be right behind you.” When they made no move to go Kagome pushed angrily at Keade's throat causing her to choke and gapes. “Tell your people your move aside and let them go” Keade bellowed the command, and the people obeyed. Still her friends made no move. “Go now. Run!” Kagome shouted forcefully, the authority in her voice couldn't be ignored.
Soon her friends were at the edge of the village and quickly gaining more distance by the second. Kagome looked down at her victim, her face soften in sympathy, “I real am sorry,” she said sincerely as she wrapped her hand around the elder's neck. Pressing expertly the last thing Keade saw was Kagome's look of determination.
