InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Falling For the Baby Sitter ❯ Punishment ( Chapter 52 )
Kagome whirled on Inu Yasha, tears gathering in her eyes. "Why did you do that?" she cried.
Inu Yasha smirked. "I couldn't let you get hurt, and besides, I can take it."
Her tears spilled over as she rounded on him angrily, pushing him backwards every time she said a sentence. "No you can't! You lost too much blood, you have injuries from fighting with your brother, you have jet lag, and you are still exhausted from last night! I know how brutal Soryo can be, and now he's furious! Do you honestly think you are going to be able to withstand his beating?!"
Inu Yasha smiled sadly. "Better me than you." He reached his hand out and wiped the tears from her cheek. "So, stop your worrying, ok? Besides, your wounds are more extensive than mine; I know you wouldn't have been able to take it."
Kagome threw her arms around his waist and held him tightly as she sobbed and her jumbled thought spun through her mind. It was all her fault that all of those things had happened to him. If she had just shot Sesshoumaru, Inu Yasha would never have gotten so badly injured. If she hadn't got involved with that asshole Hojo, he could have been at home last night instead of running to Chicago to rescue HER daughter. He sure as hell wouldn't have passed out from blood loss if she hadn't bit him. It was her fault that Soryo was so mad right now. If she had just stayed respectful and hadn't challenged him, then he might've been more merciful when it came time for Inu Yasha's beating that he was taking for HER.
Inu Yasha wrapped his arms around her, trying to calm her down. "Shhh, it's ok. It won't be much of a punishment, so stop crying."
The girl looked up at him, her eyes red and her hair matted to her face with tears. "Let me find a way to get you out of here without anyone noticing. I'll get us through a window or something. Hojo used to make me climb through shit to get things he needed for his work, so I am used to looking for narrow escapes in tight places. Give me 10 minutes and I'll have you out of here," she pleaded with him in a quiet hurried tone.
He sighed. "Kagome, if I run, I will be kicked out of the coven." He took her by the elbow and started to lead her towards the stage. "Listen, I'm going to get up on stage and sing one last song, and between you and me, it's what I think about Soryo right now," he whispered as he led her through the crowd.
Kagome's eyes filled with tears again. "Inu Yasha, don't do something that's going to get you hurt," she pleaded as she followed him up onto the stage.
Inu Yasha shrugged. "Hey, what could it hurt?" he laughed. "What's done, is done, and can't be undone." He motioned to Miroku to come up on stage and to take the guitar.
Kouga watched Inu Yasha from the crowd. "Inu, don't make it worse," he said to himself.
The lights rained down on Miroku and Inu Yasha as they took their places. Kagome watched the two boys, trying to understand why Inu Yasha was doing something just to antagonize Soryo.
Inu Yasha leaned over and whispered into Miroku's ear what song he wanted him to play. Miroku blinked and looked at Inu Yasha like he was nuts but nodded all the same. Inu Yasha moved over to the mic and as Miroku began to play.
You say I'm narcissistic and cold hearted, well yeah, maybe,
Inu Yasha started to sing, glaring out at the crowd.
But I don't give a damn about you, this much is true.
My visions blurry and my thoughts are hazy, baby,
I know I'm stupid, so I must be smarter than you,
Keep your advice leave me alone and gone.
Inu Yasha screamed into the mic as his hair flew around his face.
Let me wallow in my own shit goals.
I'm known to bite that hand that feeds me, so don't rattle my cage.
Do I look like I want to be bothered?
Like I care about the globe,
My life's a commode,
I like my depression alamode,
On the road,
Get off my back about my health,
I like disease,
I'll still be around while you're feeding trees,
I don't want your speech or your sound advice,
I don't like people, who seem nice,
Talking in my head like a family of lice,
Just let me wallow in my rage!
Don't clean up my droppings, and don't rattle my cage!
Inu never liked rap much and he hated doing it even more but this song fit his mood perfectly.
Keep your advice leave me alone and gone,
Let me wallow in my own shit goals,
I'm known to bite the hand that feeds me so don't rattle my cage,
I want this whole town to leave me alone,
Keep your advice leave me alone and gone,
Let me wallow in my own shit goals,
I'm known to bite the hand that feeds me so don't rattle my cage,
Narcissitic and cold hearted yeah well maybe,
But I dont give a damn about you this much is true,
My visions blurry and my thoughts are hazy baby,
I know Im stupid so I must be smarter than you,
Inu screamed into the mic as he banged his head to the music,
Keep your advice leave me alone and gone,
Let me wallow in my own shit goals,
I'm known to bite the hand that feeds me so don't rattle my cage,
Keep your advice leave me alone and gone.
Just let me wallow in my on shit goals,
I'm known to bite the hand that feeds me so don't rattle my cage.
Keep your advise leave me alone and gone,
Just let me wallow in my own shit goals,
I'm known to bite the hand that feeds me so don't rattle my cage.
Get off my cage.
Inu Yasha hung his head as he panted to catch his breath.
Kouga sighed. "Inu, you just messed up big time," he muttered.
Kagome walked over to Inu Yasha and tugged him out of the main light shining on the stage, her eyes falling on Soryo's infuriated form. "Inu Yasha," she whispered.
Inu Yasha wiped the sweat from his brow. "What?"
Her eyes fell on him. "Please let me take the rap of this for you," she murmured pleadingly. "He is so unbelievably pissed."
He snarled. "I will live through it, so don't worry about it. He knows I'm defiant, and Kouga won't let him do too much."
She watched him for a few minutes, and then tugged him off stage into a back hallway so they could get some piece and quiet. While he had been ranting on stage, she had made a decision. Lifting her eyes to Inu Yasha's, Kagome took a deep breath. "I'm leaving."
Inu Yasha blinked. "Leaving? Kagome, don't go!" He was beginning to panic. "No don't go."
Kagome looked everywhere but in Inu Yasha's eye. "Since you have known me, you have had more trouble than a klutzy stunt man. Plus, I need to get back into school like I was doing. It's better if I just quit, moved out, and disappeared."
Inu Yasha looked stunned. "Kagome, you can't leave, please?!" He was on the verge of begging, "I need your help, and you're one of my closest friends. Are you doing this to hurt me?"
Her gaze snapped immediately to his and tears stung her eyes. "I'm trying to stop hurting you, Inu Yasha! Why are you taking this beating? Because of ME! Why were you in Chicago instead of on vacation last night? Because of ME! Why did you get your ass kicked so badly when you fought your brother? Because I didn't shoot the bastard while I had the chance!"
"So you're gonna leave me, and hurt me that much more!" he snapped out "You don't think that will hurt me?! I can take the beatings, alright?! I'm used to it. I suffered through that my whole life!"
Tears gathered in her eyes as the threatened to spill. "Inu Yasha, damn it, I don't want you to get hurt anymore!" She stomped her foot furiously. "Dammit, I love you!"
Inu Yasha stepped back at the words she just said. "Kagome..." He lost his train of thought for a minute from shock. "Kagome, listen to me, and get this through your hard head, alright? If I didn't care for you, do you think I would do all those things for you to keep you from getting hurt?"
Inside her head, she was picturing the perfect punishment for the slip she had just let past her lips. Kagome watched Inu Yasha for a while then stared down at the floor. "I know you care about me, Inu Yasha," she said quietly.
Ryo walked back to where they were and cleared his throat. "Inu Yasha, Soryo sent me for you now," he said quietly.
Inu Yasha looked over to his friend and sighed. "Alright, Ryo. I will be right there."
Ryo nodded, but stood there waiting for Inu Yasha. Inu Yasha turned to look at Kagome. "Don't leave, please?" he asked.
Kagome lifted her eyes to his, seeing his value in her and how much he cared. While one part of her was ecstatic that he even gave a damn, the other part couldn't help but feel stung and hurt. She gave him a small smile. "As long as you promise me you won't be hurt terribly."
Inu Yasha smiled slightly. "I promise."
Ryo sighed and lowered his head. "Inu Yasha, we have to go, unless you want to make Soryo even angrier."
Inu Yasha turned and walked towards Ryo. The blue haired vampire looked up at Kagome. "You are to come too, Kagome. Your punishment is to watch Inu Yasha get punished."
Tears gathered in her eyes as she nodded and followed after Ryo silently, trying to keep herself from crying.
Ryo led them out on to the stage where Kouga and Soryo stood. Soryo looked rather pissed when he saw Inu Yasha approach. "Inu Yasha, remove your shirt," he ordered.
Inu Yasha unbuttoned his shirt and let it drop to the floor and kept his eyes to the ground.
"Inu Yasha, as much as I love you, your actions are unforgivable, and for that, you must be punished, just like anyone else would be," Kouga said.
Kagome watched as Inu Yasha stood before the two men. Her body trembled as she watched in horror while the monstrous bruises were exposed on his torso.
Kouga's face was emotionless but his eyes were a different story; he was scared for Inu Yasha.
Ryo's hand flew up to his mouth as he saw the bruises on Inu Yasha's back.
Soryo walked over to a box that was on stage and pulled out a small hand whip. Miroku stood near the stage and looked away as he saw what they were going to use. "Man, this isn't good," he muttered.
Kagome's eyes fell on the whip and she felt the world stop spinning on its axis. Her heart thudded in her chest and rung in her ears as her gaze darted to Inu Yasha's tattered back.
Ryo reached out and squeezed her shoulder to comfort her and steady himself as well.
"Come here, Inu Yasha," Soryo said as he motioned for him to come. Inu Yasha did as ordered and stood before Soryo with his gaze and head lowered. "Inu Yasha do you understand why you are being punished?" he asked.
Inu Yasha whispered. "Yes, Master Soryo, I do."
Soryo sighed "I expect great things from you Inu Yasha."
Kouga walked forward and shackled Inu Yasha's hands. Soryo tightened his grip on the whip. "Now, on your knees," he commanded.
Inu Yasha got down on his knees and planted his hands on the floor. Kouga looked away as he heard the sound of the whip cracking onto Inu Yasha's back. The boy's eyes closed tightly, as he fought back the urge to scream. Soryo let the whip crack against the young vampire's back again, causing his head to fly back as a scream escaped his throat.
Ryo felt tears stinging his eyes. The whip cracked several more times onto the young mans back before he collapsed onto the floor in a heap. Miroku couldn't look anymore and started shoving his way through the crowd. Ryo whispered, "Oh, Yasha."
Soryo put the whip back. "Now, you will never do it again, and if you do, it will be worse," Soryo said as he walked away.
Kagome's head was down and her nails bit into her skin, rivers of blood falling from her hands and splashing against the floor. Her hair cast a dark shadow over her face and her aura was throbbing with an ominous energy.
Turning on her heel, Kagome stalked off into the dark hallways. Her anger was wrapping around her in suffocating blankets and she felt as if she couldn't really breathe right.
Ryo and Kouga went to Inu Yasha and covered his body with a small blanket. Inu Yasha growled at the fabric touching the bleeding welts on his back. Kouga brushed the hair from his lover's face.
"Oh, Inu, all you had to do was ask, and you Kagome could have done whatever you wanted," he said quietly as tears fell from his eyes and onto the stage.
Kouga and Ryo helped Inu Yasha up and off stage. "Oh, Inu Yasha, I am so sorry for my mate's behavior," Ryo said as he fought back sobs.
They took Inu Yasha to Kouga's private area and laid him down on his stomach on the bed. Inu Yasha stared off at nothing with vacant eyes.
"Inu Yasha..."Kouga started.
"I want to be left alone ..." Inu Yasha said dryly. "I want everyone gone, so get out."
Kouga and Ryo nodded and left the room to let Inu Yasha lick his wounds and repair his wounded pride.
Moments later, Kagome opened the door and walked into the room with a large basin of warm water and some rags under her arm. Walking over to Inu Yasha, Kagome started wetting the rags, shredding them and then laying them gently against his welts.
He growled and his back tensed. "It hurts, I told you, Kouga, not to touch it," he said as he stared at the wall, not being able to see who it was cleaning his wounds.
"It's supposed to hurt, it's cleaning it and making sure no infection gets in," Kagome said dryly.
Inu Yasha's eyes went wide as he open and closed his mouth trying to speak. He sighed. "It's not that bad, dint worry."
"I wasn't worrying."
"Yes you were, I can see it in your face without even looking at it," he stated.
"I hope you can't," she whispered softly.
Inu Yasha laughed slightly. "Your eyes are red and puffy from crying. You're probably biting on your lip and your eye is probably doing that twitchy thing like it always does when you're worried."
"My eyes are red alright..."
He sighed. "Kagome, I'm fine,'' Inu Yasha said as he started to raise up off the bed slowly so he could sit up and face her.
A murderous look like none other was settled on Kagome's face, but instead of a ranting storm of fists and knives, Kagome's body was moving very calmly and precise. She helped him sit up carefully without touching his wounds and washed some blood off of her hands.
Inu Yasha sat there and looked at her like a lost puppy. "You're mad at me, I know."
A dry laugh pushed through her lips. "Mad? You? You got it wrong, bub."
He laughed slightly and then flinched from the pain it caused. "Then what are you then?"
She looked up at him finally looking him in the eye. "Incensed."
Inu Yasha took a deep breath and looked down at the floor.
She looked away and out the door across the hall. "I'm going to kill him."
His gaze shot up to her face. "No, you will not. Master Soryo is a dear friend of mine. He just followed the rules, he couldn't let me get by with what I had done, and then punish another for it later."
Looking back up at him, her anger seemed to know no bounds as tears streamed down her face in vicious torrents. "He hurt you so badly..."
"And I bet right now if you go and see him he is hurting just as bad as I am," he said knowingly. "It hurt him too, Kagome, but he can't show any favoritism."
Kagome stood and brushed her hands against her legs. "Well, I'll see you later tonight, Inu Yasha." She turned and kept her eyes away from his face.
"Where are you going?" he asked as he got to his feet. "I thought you weren't going to leave."
She paused for a moment by the replacement door they had put in. "Ryo told me that you wanted to be left alone and to just get in, take care of your back and then get out."
He sighed. "I said that because they were going to coddle me like a whipped child." Inu Yasha walked over to the door and leaned on the wall. "Besides, I'm sure we are closed down now, and I want to check on the others."
Studying the ground she shrugged. "Kouga is packing away the others into the car and debating on whether he wants to stay with you tonight or not."
"Kagome, why do you have a problem looking at me?" he asked.
"Because you can see every emotion I'm feeling in my eyes," she said after a moments pause.
"The eyes are the window to the soul, so what are you hiding that you don't want me to see?" Inu Yasha said as he grabbed her chin and turned her face towards him.
She closed her eyes and attempted to pull away. "Nothing."
He scowled and let go of her chin. "Fine." He walked out the door and down the hall into the main club area. He walked around the bar and grabbed a bottle of whiskey and a glass.
Kagome walked behind him and tapped his shoulder.
Inu Yasha looked over his shoulder as he poured himself a shot of whiskey. "What?"
She sat down on the stool and looked up at him. "If you want to see my eyes then look at them. But don't be so sure that you're still going to want me to stay after you see them."
Inu Yasha looked into her eyes seeing confusion, hurt, worry and most of all love. Inu Yasha drank the shot he poured. "I want you to stay. See, it didn't kill ya." Kouga walked back into the club with Soryo and Ryo. Inu Yasha eyed them and then poured himself another shot.
Kagome scowled at Inu Yasha and dipped a finger in his shot glass. She popped the finger in her mouth and sucked on it, scowling up at the stage and not saying anything much.
Ryo approached the two and sat down next to Kagome. His eyes were red and puffy from crying. "How do you feel, Inu?" he asked.
Inu Yasha gave him a full smile. "You knew I would be fine, besides, I like it rough."
Ryo looked at his friend and laughed.
Kagome gave an over exaggerated shudder then turned a dismayed look up at Inu Yasha. "Good then you won't mind when I dump that whiskey down your back."
Inu Yasha stepped back and drank his shot. "You do, you die." He glared at her in warning. Ryo sat there wringing his hands in his lap feeling guilty for his mate's actions.
Kagome snatched the bottle of whiskey and got down like a wrestler, circling Inu Yasha. By a trick of the light, it seemed that two horns had sprouted on her head and she grinned wickedly. It was time for some fun.
