Kagome sat up in bed and brushed the dark hair out of her eyes. The sunlight filtered through her window kissing the sheets and the floor as it spilled through the glass. She smiled and swung out of the bed and realized she had woken up before the kids. She glanced over at the clock. It was barely 5:30. She grinned. Kagome decided that she could get up and do some early morning chores so she could get some stuff out of the way.

She walked over to the closet and pulled out a pair of black shorts that molded themselves to her thighs and hips. Her shirt was a red tank top that clung loosely to her chest and drooped in a few places to expose a decent amount of skin. She brushed her hair back into a braid and tugged on some boots before going out to start feeding the animals.

Kagome smiled and turned the feed buckets upside down to show they had already been fed and started dishing out fresh water. When she finished that she started leading the horses out to the paddocks and mucking out their stalls as the sun continued to filter through the house. She smiled. Some how, Kagome just felt that this was going to be a decent day.

Inu Yasha stumbled out of bed and grumbled about waking up so early. He grabbed a cigarette before he headed to the kitchen to get something to drink. He yawned and pulled a box of orange juice form the fridge and poured a glass. "I am not a morning person," he said as he leaned against the counter.

The door banged open and Kagome bounced in, humming away and she started picking up some stuff around the house. Not noticing Inu Yasha, she started tugging off her tank top to change into a clean shirt now that she had hay and feed all over it.

Inu Yasha cleared his throat. "Hey, Stripperella," he said with a smirk as he set his glass off juice down and lit his cigarette.

The girl yelped in surprise at his voice and whirled around, then realized she didn't have a shirt on and flung her arms over her chest. "What are you doing up so early this morning for?!"

Her employer laughed. "Well, I heard some one walking around and I woke up and decided to get something to drink," he said with a smile. "But I didn't know I was going to get entertainment too."

Kagome blushed darkly and hurriedly tugged a bra on as well as a black sleeveless shirt. That prick just had to start teasing her this morning, didn't he? Well, two could play that game.

She walked over to him and deliberately leaned over so that her ass rubbed against his morning wood. She smirked as she plucked the orange juice off the counter and straightened up to gulp some out of the container, some spilling out of the corner of her mouth. She leaned back against his chest, pressing her body against his. She looked up at him and dragged her tongue over her lips and cleaned the orange juice from them.

"What can I say?" she muttered huskily, her breath exploding against the curve of his neck. "I just can't help myself when I first wake up."

Inu Yasha blushed as he heard the door open and his grandfather walk in. Raven Claw cleared his throat. "Well, maybe, I should go out again and come back in an hour."

The girl choked and leaped forward against the counter, away from Inu Yasha. Suddenly another smirking voice came from the hallway.

"No, knowing Kagome and the legends I've heard about your grandson, they'd need the better part of the day."

Kagome shot Sango a glare and spoke to Raven Claw, still red. "I just fed the animals and mucked the stalls and groomed the horses."

Raven Claw smiled. "Now, that's a good girl." He gave a look over at Inu Yasha. "Wish some other people were as hard working as you."

Inu Yasha sighed. "Hey, I have to cut hay today, that's no fun." He finished off his cigarette. "And speaking of that, I better get started before it gets too hot," Inu Yasha said as he walked down the hall to put on his work clothes.

Kagome grinned like a little girl at the praise and stuck her tongue out at the back of Inu Yasha's head.

Inu Yasha walked into the bedroom and kicked the bed. "Hey lazy ass, get the hell up."

Kouga groaned. "Well, good morning to you too."

Inu Yasha snorted. "Yeah, yeah, get up we have work to do," he said, as he got dressed into a white tank top and holy jeans. "I have to cut hay, and you and Miroku have to fix some fences today."

Kouga growled and rolled out of bed. "I hate farm life, man."

Inu Yasha laughed at him. "Join the club, man."

Kagome's scream echoed through the house, curdling the blood of every living being residing within a 20-mile radius.

Inu Yasha ran down the hall. "What the hell is going on?!"

The girl pointed a trembling hand at the enormous spider that crouched on the counter. A large red welt was springing up on her wrist. "It b-bit m-me!" she said weakly, not feeling well. The sheer terror of the hairy thing was making her feel faint. Her vision kept swimming in and out of focus.

The spider raced across the counter as if charging the girl and she shrieked again, cowering away from it.

"Kill that psychotic fucking thing!!!"

Raven Claw reached over and smacked his hand down on the spider and killed it. Inu Yasha just shook his head as he walked out the front door. "I'm going out to get to work now; make sure she doesn't faint, Grandpa."

The old man smiled. "I'm sure she will not faint."

The girl shuddered and sank against the floor huddling into a small fetal position and cradling her hand close.

Raven washed his hands from killing the spider when Kouga walked down the hall and looked at Kagome. "Kagome, what on earth is the matter?" he said as he knelt down to look at her.

The girl held out her hand to show him the angry looking spider bite that had two fang-like marks that looked redder than the rest of the bite. Sweat was beading on her forehead and she started whimpering. "It hurts, like my whole hand is cramping up."

Kouga took her hand gently and looked at it and then over to Raven who was digging around in his bag. Raven pulled out a bottle of medicine that looked mean and nasty and carried over to the girl. "Take this and put it on there, it will make you feel better," he said as he handed it to Kagome. "Kouga, she will be fine. Go and wake Miroku up and tell him to get to work.

Kouga nodded and set Kagome's hand down into her lap.

Kagome opened the medicine bottled and sniffed it. "Do I just rub it on there?" she asked quietly.

The old man nodded. "It will burn, so be prepared."

Kagome nodded and disappeared into her room to relax and clean up a little bit after putting the medicine on.

Kouga walked down the hall and into Miroku's room. "Hey, sleeping pervert, wake up its time to get to work."

Miroku mumbled. "Come on, mom. I don't want to go to school today."

Kouga rolled his eyes and grabbed the mattress and flipped it over, toppling Miroku off the other side of the bed. "GET UP!" Kouga shouted.

Miroku lay on the floor with his feet in the air. "Ok, ok. I'm up! Good God, you're mean in the morning."

Mayu ran out and glomped onto Raven Claw. "Hey, Grandpa!"

Raven ruffled the girl's hair. "Good morning, Little Doe. How do you feel this morning?"

Mayu grinned. "Good!" She looked around. "What do we get to do today?"

He smiled. "Well, after all the work is done, we are going to have a cook out, and I will give you and the boys their present."

The little girl grinned big and bounced up and down. "Ok! What's Mayu got to work on?!"

Raven laughed. "Well, first, you can feed my cat, Snickers, and her kittens, and then you can get the boys up to eat some breakfast."

Kouga pulled a ruffled and still half asleep Miroku down the hall by the neck. "We will be back after we get the fences fixed," Kouga said.

"Owwww, Kouga, damn it, let go!" Miroku fussed as he was pulled out the door trying to break Kouga's grip.

Sango laughed as she tugged a shirt on heading outside. "I'm going to run down to the store and pick up some stuff for the cook out, I'll be back later."

Mayu bounced off to go feed the kittens then bolted into the boy's room and bounced on Souta's bed. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE UPPPPPPPP!!!"

Souta woke up and rubbed his eyes. "It's too early," he whined and sat up.

Shippou was already awake and having a hard time pulling his shirt on. "Help me," he said as he laughed.

Mayu giggled and leapt over to the younger boy and helped him tug the shirt on then pegged Souta in the forehead with a pillow. "Get up, if we work we get our presents today!"

Souta smiled and jumped out of bed. "Oh yeah, I forgot," he said as he began to change out of his pajamas.

Mayu giggled and bounce out of the room.

After getting dressed, the boys bounded out of the room to see their grandpa putting breakfast on the table. "Good morning Grand Pa!" they squealed as they ran over to the table.

"Good morning sleepy heads," he said in response.

Mayu sat at the table kick her feet and kicking her feet happily.

The boys dug into the eggs and pancakes that decked out the table. "Mayu, aren't you going to eat?" Raven asked as he ruffled her hair again.

Inu Yasha cranked up the tractor and drove by the house, heading towards the hay field as Kouga and Miroku fixed the cattle fence.

"Damn it, that hurt!" Miroku whined and popped the thumb he just whacked with a hammer into his mouth.

"Big baby," Kouga shot back.

Mayu watched the men out the window and giggled and ate giddily. As soon as she finished she looked up. "Ok, now what can I do to help?"

"You and the boys can go and gather eggs," the old man said as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

"Ewwwww, they stink," Shippou said as he got out of his chair.

"Yeah they really do grandpa."

Raven Claw laughed. "You sound like Inu when he was your age."

The ecstatic little girl bopped both of the boys over the head and raced out the door to go start gathering the eggs.

The boys ran after her to the chicken coupe. "You would swear they all were related," Raven said and followed the kids out the door.

Quite a while later in the day as the sun inched well past its noon height, Sango pulled back in and started unloading the groceries she had picked up for the barbeque. She looked around at the newly repaired fence and at Inu Yasha as he tied up the last bale. "Looks like you guys got a lot of stuff done while I was gone."

Miroku swallowed hard. "Oh yeah...it's better now."

Inu Yasha walked towards them, pulling off his sweat soaked tank top. "Oh geez, you know damn good and well he doesn't want you to suck his thumb like that," he said with a smug grin.

The woman smirked evilly. "Yes I know that. But I also know what's on your mind from this morning," she muttered, so only his ears could pick up her voice as she bent over to set the groceries down, giving Miroku a nice view of her ass.

Miroku jumped to his feet and rushed over to her. "Here, let me help you with those bags." And then his hand was magnetically grabbing her ass.

Sango snapped up immediately and elbowed him in the stomach out of reflex. When she stood up she saw Inu Yasha's appreciation of the memory she had invoked. She smirked again. "Speaking of which. Where is Kagome?"

Miroku coughed as the wind was knocked out of him. "Damn ...Sango, did you have to hit so hard?"

Inu Yasha laughed. "Last time I saw her, she was freaking out over a spider."

Sango frowned. "She didn't get bit, did she?"

The boy nodded. "Yeah, I think she did."

The older woman stared at him for a moment. "How long ago was it?"

"Uhhhh god it was earlier this morning," he said.

Kouga nodded. "Yeah, Raven gave her some salve for it."

The woman's face paled and she dropped her bags, cursing and running into the house. "Shit!"

The guys got up and ran after her. "Sango, what's wrong?" Miroku asked as him and the others ran after her.

Sango dashed into Kagome's bedroom and found her on her bed, sweating heavily and shivering, her eyes squinting shut tightly. Sango's eyes narrowed. "What kind of spider was it?" she asked brusquely.

"Uhhhh it was a brown one," Inu Yasha said as he looked at the girl on the bed.

The woman cursed again. "Inu Yasha go get me some cold water. Kouga go out to my car and get my purse." She helped Kagome sit up in the bed. Kagome opened her eyes, her pupils heavily dilated.

"Sango?" she asked quietly.

Inu Yasha and Kouga ran off at the girls orders.

Miroku walked over to the bed. "What's wrong with her, Sango?"

Sango tucked the girl in tightly. "She's allergic to most spiders. On top of that look at this rash." A faint rash was appearing on her skin like it had just started, with small purple and red dots all over her skin, and the red bump had started to form a blister.

"We didn't know she was allergic," Miroku said as Inu Yasha and Kouga ran back into the door with the things they were ordered to get.

Sango shook her head. "Well, there's not a whole lot we can do about that now. I assumed she would have told her employer. On top of her being allergic it looks like she's been bit by a brown recluse."

She dug around in her purse, finding the anti-venom kit that she had bought a long time ago. She grinned up at Kagome wryly. "And you told me that you'd be so careful, I'd never need this."

The girl shook her head and sighed, filling a syringe with the liquid, concentrating carefully. Kagome glared at her. "It's not my fault the damn thing attacked me! I think it was on crack or something!" she cursed.

Sango's brows flew up. "A recluse attacked you? Hon, you have to seriously piss off a recluse for it to bite you."

"Is she going to be ok?" Kouga asked. "Should I get Raven?"

Sango stared at the bite while she injected the anti venom into her blood stream. "Well... yes, I think you should." She pointed to the fang marks. "She's been bitten by a female." Her eyes reached Inu Yasha's face. "After I give her the antibiotics the best we can do is hope that her body builds up at defense against the venom that's already been soaked up by the soft tissue." She frowned. "The worst that could happen after that is such bad skin decay that she'd need a skin graft."

Inu Yasha looked at Kagome. "Why in the hell didn't you tell me you was allergic to spiders? I would have killed all that I saw."

Kagome looked up at him and then blushed, ducking her head. "I don't know... I guess I didn't want to bother you with it."

The guys nodded. "Yeah, I will tell grandpa and the kids to kill all the spiders that they see," Inu Yasha said as he smiled down at Kagome. "No wonder you were so afraid of the damn things."

Kagome scowled up at him. "And you stuck one down my damn shirt!!!"

"Well, I didn't know," he shot back.

Sango cleared Miroku and Kouga out of the room. "I need your help with the groceries. Inu Yasha's done enough hard labor for today. All you two did was fix a fence," she said as she closed the door behind her.

Kagome smiled up at him wryly. "You smell like hay and sweat."

Inu Yasha nodded. "Yeah, it was hot out today on that tractor."

She giggled and laid her head against his bare stomach, scooching down so she could curl her upper body up in his lap.

Inu Yasha sat there and stroked her hair. "Get some sleep, ok."

The girl nodded and wrapped her arms around his thigh. She smiled and looked up at him. "Good thing your grandpa came in when he did earlier. I wouldn't have stopped teasing you till you begged for mercy, other wise."

He laughed "Get some rest maybe you will be able to go to the cook out later this afternoon."

Kagome stuck her tongue out at him and wrinkled her nose, nuzzling her face into his lap deeply. She blinked and looked up for a moment. "Inu-kun?"

"Hmm what is it Kagome?" Inu Yasha said as he stroked her hair.

She giggled and poked at the part of his body that had caught her attention. "You happy to see me or just have a zombie fetish?"

Inu Yasha looked down. "Well, uhhhh, to be honest, I don't know," he said with a slight blush stretching across his face.

Kagome smiled and wrinkled her nose up at him. "Well, I'm all flattered now," she said. The girl lay her head back down on his thigh, breath warm air over his covered groin. "Yash?" she mumbled.

"What is it?" he asked quietly.

"Do you remember that night on the jet coming back from getting Mayu?" The girl traced her slender fingers up his thigh slowly, barely touching him.

Inu Yasha nodded. "Yes, I remember."

Kagome's soft lips tugged into a gentle smile and she rubbed her nose against him, not saying a word, cuddling him close.

Inu Yasha closed his eyes. "You're such a pain, Kagome." He laughed and tweaked her nose.

The girl arched a brow. "Not yet," she muttered, and bit his thigh, a hair away from his groin. She turned her head a fraction and brushed her lips gently against him through his pants.

Inu Yasha groaned. "Kagome, I'm warning you, don't start what you cant finish," he said as he looked down at her. "By the Gods above, don't tempt me, and everyone is in the house right now."

"No they're not, they're outside barbequing." Her smirk glittered in her eyes as she pressed her lips more firmly against his growing erection.

Inu Yasha groaned and fell back onto the bed. "You're going to kill me, I see it coming now."

The girl wrapped her left arm around his hips then worked at the fastenings of his pants with the other free hand. She busied her lips, pressing them against his abdomen and nipped gently at the skin.

The boy held his breath as he felt his pants being unbuttoned and squeezed his eyes shut. "Kagome..." He groaned, "We ...we...really shouldn't do this."

The girl looked up at him then laid her head down against his abdomen, closing her eyes, dropping her hands. "Alright," she said softly.

He growled at himself "Damn it, now I have a damn hard on and its going to aggravate me all day."

Kagome laughed. "Who's the one who told me to stop?"

Inu Yasha sighed. "Yeah, I know."

The girl laid her head down again, nuzzling against him, her chest pressing firmly between his legs enclosing his erection. "That's what you get for making fun of me this morning."

"That was over me making fun of you?!" he said as he sat up. "That was all about revenge?!"

Kagome pulled back, her eyes drawn and hurt. "No, of course not!" She stared up at him. "That was about how I feel about you, I just said that to get you to laugh!"

Inu Yasha stood up and zipped up his pants. "And here I thought it was about something else." He walked to the door. "Get some rest, dinner will be done soon and Grandpa is going to give the kids their presents soon." Inu Yasha lowered his head to cover the hurt on his face as he walked out the door. "Same old thing all over again," he muttered as he walked outside.

Kagome leapt out of the bed and grabbed him before he reached the outside and jerked him back into the hallway. She wrapped her arms around him tightly and ducked her head against his chest. "Inu Yasha, please listen to me," she begged quietly.

"Kagome let me go I need to go and get the kids presents," he muttered.

The girl shook her head and looked up at him defiantly. She reached up and pressed her lips against his, tangling her fingers in his hair to bring him as close as she could. Pouring as much of her passion and love for him as she had into the kiss, she tightened her arms around him.

Inu Yasha ran his hand into her hair and deepened the kiss not even noticing Miroku who just walked in the door standing there watching them.

Kagome sucked in a breath and tightened her arms around him. She pulled back and leaned her head against his chest. "I just wish I could get you to understand..." she whispered trailing a hand down his chest and closing her eyes. "I love you, Inu Yasha," she mumbled.

Inu Yasha nodded. "I know." He leaned his head onto her shoulder. "I know how you feel," he muttered.

Miroku scowled. "Inu Yasha, you damn mother fucker, I can't believe you're doing this."

The girl leapt about a foot in the air and turned around. Spotting Miroku, her eyes widened. Suddenly tears sprang to her eyes and she clasped her hands in front of her. "Miroku, please don't blame Inu Yasha, it's my fault!"

Inu Yasha turned and glared at Miroku. "Keep the fuck out of this, it isn't your concern!"

Miroku pointed a finger at his best friend. "You are low down, rotten bastard for doing this to Kouga; I hope you know that, Inu." Miroku began to shake with anger. "She can't replace what you lost! Kouga saved you, and this is how you reward him; by acting like a damn dog!? She isn't Kikyou!" he yelled at Inu Yasha.

Kagome shrunk back, hurt registering in her features. A flare fired up in her eyes and she stepped in front of Miroku and slapped him firmly across the face. For a moment she just stared at him, before her tears spilled over, then she turned around and raced back to her room.

Miroku stood there and held his cheek. "Miroku, you should have kept your fucking mouth shut! Next time you yell at me or her again, I will punch your teeth in!" Inu Yasha turned around and went after Kagome while Miroku spun around and went outside. "Kagome, come out, please," Inu Yasha said as he knocked on her door.

The girl opened the door and looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Inu Yasha," she said quietly, not lifting her head to look at him.

He reached out and lifted her chin so she would look at him. "Maybe it would be best to tell Kouga I at least owe him that much." Inu Yashsa sighed "Even though he would probably hate me for the rest of my life and leave but its better than lying."

The girl closed her eyes, trying to hold back more tears. "I should have just left well enough alone..."

"No, I'm to blame too, and you know it," he said. "Come on, let's go to the cook out and have one last night of fun before all hell breaks loose."

The girl opened her eyes and watched him sadly. She dropped her gaze. "Alright, Inu Yasha."
