Chapter 6: Resuming the journey
A/N: For all of you who think this story is too gross for you, DON’T READ IT! I don’t mean to be rude but I have said it once before, if you think it’s too gross or to crass for you don’t continue to read. It’s not going to get any less so. stories. Anyways, back to the story. Oh. And I don’t own InuYasha and Co.

“Who the hell do you think you are, Kagome?” InuYasha stated angrily. “What right do you have bringing that asshole along with you?” Kagome put her hands on her hips. “I have just as much right to bring Kouga along as you have going to fuck the bitch almost every night.” Sighing inside she continued. “And if you have such a problem with it then leave.” She turned around and began to gather her thing and place them in her bag.
Everyone just stared at the angry girl. None of them, with the exception of Kouga, had expected anything of this sort to come out of her mouth. She looked up at the group. “What?” she asked. “You can’t really mean that Kagome.” Miroku said “I mean, come on now, cut the guy some slack.” He put his hand on her shoulder. “Riiight.” Kagome said calmly “this coming from the man who can barely keep it in his pants if we even come within 50 feet of a woman.” Miroku quickly removed his hand, looking extremely hurt. “She’s right Miroku.” Sango said, trying to comfort the monk a bit “InuYasha has to learn to deal with it or we can’t stay together as a group.”
“Don’t I have any say in the matter?” InuYasha yelled. Kagome turned to him. “Yes you do, InuYasha. You need to decide if you can deal with Kouga being with us.” She quickly glanced at Kouga, who winked at her. She blushed lightly. InuYasha caught the whole thing. “What the hell was that all about Kagome?” he said with a slightly pissed look in his eyes.
“Secret. Sorry!” Kagome stated with a slight smile. With that said she flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked over to help Sango finish packing.

Inuyasha was pissed. Everyone could sense it. As they left on their continuing journey to find the jewel shards and Naraku, Inuyasha ran a constant diatribe of Kagome and Kouga related insults, under his breath of course. After walking for hours with the same shit coming out of his mouth Kagome finally snapped. “I swear to every fucking God in heaven that if you do not stop your incessant whining, I will say ‘that’ word so furiously that Kikyo will have to join you in hell!” Kagome looked as if she would kill if he uttered another word. Every one seemed to stop and take a step back at that. It took a minute or so but she regained her composer. She smiled sweetly. “It’s almost dark. I think we should go back to that clearing we just left and make camp, what do you say?” When no one said anything, she just turned heel and walked back towards the clearing, a smile on her face.
Finally Kouga broke the silence by clearing his throat. “Well….” At that he began to follow Kagome to the clearing. One by one they all followed until only Inuyasha was left on the path. He just sat down on the path looking like a frightened child. As the sun set into the horizon, he never moved. After almost an hour, he finally stood up. After making his way to camp, he just slumped on the ground against the nearest tree. He didn’t speak and he wouldn’t look at anyone, except Kagome. The tired group had long since fallen asleep.
Kagome, even in her sleep, could feel the hanyou’s eyes on her. She rolled over and opened her eyes just to have them locked by a set of warm, golden eyes. The air caught in her throat. She still loved him with all her heart and she knew it. Her eyes began to tear up. She sat up, careful not to wake Kouga. She climbed out of her sleeping bag and began to
walk towards Inuyasha. Her eyes never left his.
Inuyasha’s heart began to race when Kagome had opened her eyes. He saw the love in her eyes. And he saw her tears. Before he knew it she had stood up and walked over to him. He looked down to see her hand extended in front of him. He didn’t know what to do. Should he ignore it or should he take her hand and let her lead him where ever?
Kagome was a little nervous. Inuyasha was just sitting there staring at her hand. What was wrong? Just then Inuyasha reached up and grabbed her hand. Her heart seemed to float as he stood up and looked at her. ‘Well. It’s now or never.’ She said to herself as she lead Inuyasha to a secluded spot in the near by forest.
The clearing was dark. ‘Thank God for flashlights’ Kagome thought to herself as she turned her flash light on. The light wasn’t much but it was enough for her purpose. Inuyasha had sat down and was just staring at her. Kagome steeled herself for what she was about to ask. She took a deep breath and looked at Inuyasha. “Inuyasha, can I ask you something?” she asked pleadingly. Inuyasha had never heard her voice filled with such innocent fear. “You can ask me anything, Kagome.” She just wanted to melt right there. He had never sounded so sincere. “Ok. I need you to be completely truthful. Why did you
choose Kikyo over me?”
Inuyasha’s jaw just about hit the floor. ‘Kagome thought I chose Kikyo over her?’ Kagome was on the verge of tears and he could smell it.
