I just want to thank everyone that bothered to review. I went back and made a couple changes to the first chapter before I posted this new one because of some mistakes that I made that some helpful ppl pointed out. I thank them- they know who they are. So if you haven't read the revised version of the first chapter, I advise you to do so. I didn't change it drastically. And now- on with the story!!!

Chapter 2:
`Let the chaos begin…'

There was pandemonium all over the dining room. Ji-chan was yelling at one of the boys, calling them disrespectful. The boys where fighting and man, did the younger silver hair have a temper. That must have been Inuyasha. The one named Miroku was currently being pounded into the earth by Sango, Rin was watching with a worried face, and the oldest was throwing in insults here and there for the other two idiots. He had to be Sesshoumaru.

Mrs. Higurashi sat with a clear tick in her eye brow, ready to blow at any moment. Kagome watched with little interest. `If this is what living here will be like, then I am never attending dinner again.' Kagome lifted her glass, pinky held high, as a roll flew past her, knocking Sesshoumaru in the head.
`Okay, these guys are asking for it!'

“SILENCE,” screamed Mrs. Higurashi and all went deathly quiet. `Geez,' thought Kagome as she held her hands over her ears, `Mrs. Higurashi has one hell of a voice box.'

“My apologies Mrs. Higurashi.” Replied Sesshoumaru, as he was the only one brave enough to move, let alone respond. He then proceeded to sit down and eat as if this was an everyday occurrence. Kagome was taken aback, `This boy acts like an aristocrat!' and with that thought still in her head, Kagome began to giggle.

Inuyasha's gaze immediately snapped over to Kagome and narrowed. “Who are you?”

Kagome just glared at him, `How rude!' Kagome looked over at Mrs. Higurashi expecting her to scold him, but instead saw a smile spreading. `What is wrong with this family?'

“For those of you who are late, I have a surprise. Kikyo here,” said Mrs. Higurashi as she gestured to Kagome, “is going to be staying in our foster home. I expect all of you to treat her like I treat all of you, as my own.”

`Why is he looking at me like I'm an alien? Inuyasha has to be the rudest guy on the planet!'
Indeed, Inuyasha was staring at Kagome. That's when he did the most alarming thing. He sniffed her. Kagome looked at him horrified. Once satisfied with whatever he was doing, Inuyasha just took a seat. Kagome gave a confused glance to Rin, as the petite girl giggled.

“Don't worry Kikyo, most youkai smell people so they may recognize the scent if needed,” stated Rin most proudly. The more Rin babbled on the more confused Kagome became. 'Doesn't this girl ever shut up?' but, Kagome dared not speak the words that would make her stop. She wasn't about to talk to any of these lunatics except perhaps for Mrs. Higurashi or Ji-chan. Inuyasha caught Kagome's attention out of the corner of her eye. His ears kept twitching in her direction as if waiting for her to tell Rin to shut up. “...you don't seem like you have been around youkai at all- Kikyo... Kikyo?”

~^~
Inuyasha's dog ears twitched as he looked up from his meal to find the strange new girl looking at him. She was beautiful to say the least. Her raven locks contrasted with her pale face nicely and her sharp blue eyes unnerved him. There was just something wrong about her, something to do with her demeanor.

Inuyasha realized that while she was staring at him, he was also staring back. Snapping out of whatever thought process he was in, Inuyasha stated defensively, “What are you staring at wretch?” He just couldn't help it. Inuyasha watched as her face contorted into an angry mask of surprise at his rude tongue. “Well?”

Kikyo just continued to glare at him though.

“Inuyasha, don't be rude.” scolded Mrs. Higurashi with a disproving look. Scowling Inuyasha watched as the girl turned her attention back to her meal, or so it would seem. He noticed, out of the corner of her eye, Kikyo studied him and his adoptive family.

Inuyasha was forced to do the dishes with Miroku as their punishment. It wouldn't end well.

“So Yasha, what do you think about Kikyo, pretty hot right?” asked Miroku as he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at him.

“Shut up, you damn pervert!” said Inuyasha as he hit Miroku over the head. Looking at the dish in his hand, he started to think and the more he thought, the more suspicious and curious the hanyou got.

`What was with that stare? It was like ice, cold and hard. It was like she was trying to unlock the door to my mind or figure me out all in one look.' Just thinking about it sent shivers down his spine. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Inuyasha registered Miroku waving his hands back and forth, trying to get the hanyou's attention back. `She was analyzing everyone too. And the way she looked when I first sat down was like she thought we were insane psycho freaks, that where there to amuse her. What's going on in her mind? Or am I just imagining all of this? Maybe all this sleep loss is getting to me… maybe- but I was so sure a second ago-' Inuyasha was pulled out of his thoughts as water hit his face.

“MIROKU!”

Upon hearing his friend come back down to earth, Miroku laughed and ran for the stairs. Inuyasha chased after him, swearing all the way. `It's all in my head' thought Inuyasha as he ran, `yeah, it's all in my head.'

From the kitchen you could hear Rin screaming for the two idiots to come back. Sighing she turned to look at Sango's red face, “I guess we get stuck cleaning- again.”

More than a little frustrated, Sango stomped off to get a mop to sop up all the water Miroku had just conveniently gotten on the floor. Rin, thinking it was a disaster in the making, dashed off to stop her friend and slipped in the puddle plowing straight on top of Sango. Both landed in a heap, face first, on the ground.

“Why me?” Sango moaned over and over again. Rin giggled. “What's so funny about all this, huh?” snapped Sango.

“Well,” stated Rin as she hushed up, “your shirt is wet.”

“Hate to break it to you, but so is yours Rin.”

“Yes, but yours is white…”

“So?”

Rin couldn't reply as she started to giggle hysterically again.

“Rin your point?” Sango was now yelling.

“I”- giggle- “can't” -out right laugh- “breathe!”

Sighing Sango pushed the uncontrollable ditz off her, only to snap her head over to a new voice from a person she had not noticed before.

“I do believe what Rin is trying to say is-” Sesshoumaru was shoved to the side as Miroku entered the scene. Sesshomaru huffed as he turned on his heal and left. He was certainly not sticking around when those petty people around him thought they could shove him, sesshoumaru, around. Now him being youkai, he could snap all their little necks, but that was too messy.

“NICE BRA SANGO! IS THERE A REASON ITS BLACK?” Miroku exclaimed in all his excitement as he even pushed Sesshoumaru out of the way, which probably wasn't too smart, just to get a view of his goddess.

Sango's cheeks grew a deep shade of scarlet. Looking down at her plain white t-shirt, it was indeed true; you could see her bra through the wet piece of clothing. If it was possible Rin was laughing harder than before as her face turned colors from lack of air.

“Miroku,” called a mad Inuyasha, “quit looking at my sister as if she was a second piece of dessert, `cause with that fat ass, you don't need it!”

Now Sango's whole face and neck turned red as she was more than mortified, but seeing those two laugh made her angry, `How dare they, even my own brother.' Holding her head high Sango walked out of the room scooping up whatever dignity she had left as she went.

Kagome had just previously walked away from the most ridiculous scene in her life. Seeing Sango's bra definitely wasn't on her agenda for the night. No one had noticed her in the corner watching all the commotion. She was now walking up the steps to take a shower.

The water was warm as it ran down her body. Her thoughts ran as she scrubbed harder and harder, the more she rubbed the redder her skin became yet the thoughts kept coming. Dangerous thoughts that wouldn't stop as thoughts turned into words and words into memories and memories into…

~Flash Back~

Yells and screams echoed the halls as Kagome once again found herself running down the hallway that changed her life forever. Flashes of furniture flew by her as she kept moving toward her destination. Reds turned into blues as greens messed with oranges, her only thoughts lay at the end of the hall. Opening a door she stood face to face with a sight that would forever haunt her childhood.
That knife- so familiar. It was gray with a red dragon on the handle…and then blood-

Officials say the man spared his child, but the mother was stabbed thirteen times. No one is quite sure why. The mother was rushed straight to the hospital, but unfortunately did not survive through surgery. No more information is being released at this time. Stay tuned…”

Jack and Jill ran from the hill to throw a pale of water.
Jack and his crown knocked Jill down.
And could not follow after

“Mom!” a haggard child savagely screamed-

~End Flash Back~
She couldn't breathe. She couldn't see. She couldn't feel. There was a lump in her throat that insisted on burning her until she let the tears blocking her vision, run free. God help her she didn't want remember- the murder, the newscast, her father's last rhyme.

Slowly, she started breathing normally, and the feeling came back in her limbs. The water was cold now, so cold. She got out of that shower as quickly as possible, hell she wanted out of this bathroom. Kagome searched a towel, where did they keep them? Smacking her head she realized there was a closet outside the bathroom that probably held all the towels. Her clothes already went down the laundry chute, located in the bathroom, when she undressed. Now what…?

Sighing in resignation, Kagome acknowledged the fact that she would have to step outside the bathroom in order to retrieve a towel. Peaking outside of the door, she didn't spot anyone in the hall. Kagome took a deep breath, `Well here goes nothing,' and she sprang from behind the door running to the linen closet. Flying into the closet, she faintly heard the door slam shut.

Kagome could feel her heart pounding through her chest. She had made it, but she couldn't see. The closet was small with no light. She was pressed against the shelf with barely any room. Groping around her hands felt tissue boxes, toilet paper, toothpastes, toothbrushes, decorations, etc… but no towels. Kagome was still cold and wet which made her colder. Goose bumps where all over her arms and legs. Giving up on the lower selves she went on to the ones just about out of her reach.

Sheets, blankets, towels, pillows- 'wait towels! Finally!' Then the door suddenly opened to find her hugging a folded towel to her chest.

Inuyasha was in his room with Sesshoumaru, Sango and Miroku. Rin was on the phone with a friend off in la-la land. Currently, he was trying to tune out Sango and Miroku's bickering, or Sango's bickering and Miroku's flirting- either way it was annoying. He didn't know why Sango was in his room in the first place. It probably had something to do with Rin being busy. Then why didn't she go bug the new girl?

Sesshoumaru was sitting quietly finishing up the project Miroku and Inuyasha were supposed to be helping him with.

Suddenly, the occupants in the room jumped at a very loud sound. Each as startled as the next, with every one of them thinking, `What was that?' Miroku was the first to voice his opinion.

“Did that noise come from the linen closet?”

“Perhaps it was a ghost,” Sango whispered into Miroku's ear in the creepiest voice you have ever heard.

Inuyasha shot her a skeptical look while a thinly plucked eyebrow was raised on Sesshoumaru's face.

Gulping Miroku stuttered, “S-Sango, my dear, y-you sh-shouldn't-t joke a-around!”
Inuyasha laughed at this, “Scared of a ghost?” He then proceeded to act how he thought; a ghost `should' act. When he picked up a blanket and draped it over his head, Inuyasha had gone too far. Sango keeled over with laughter as Miroku increasingly became angrier by the second.

Storming out of the room Miroku muttered, “Scared? I'll show you who's scared!”

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes as he watched his sister and brother rush out of the room after Miroku. Instead of following he stayed in the room doing homework.

Inuyasha and Sango ran down the hall on Miroku's heels. `What was he doing?' thought Inuyasha.

Right then Miroku stopped in front of the linen closet which had been slammed moments before.

Inuyasha noticed his friend take a deep breath in mental preparation as he hid his snickers. Miroku lashed out grabbing the handle and swung the door open.

Eyes popped wide open and mouths dropped to the ground. To say anyone was surprised was an understatement.

Rin came banging out of her and Sango's room. She sure knew how to make a noisy entrance. “What is with all the commotion!?” Rin almost dropped her phone as all eyes turned to her seeing the reaction written straight across the innocent girls face.

Sesshoumaru growled not being able to take all the interruption anymore. He swiftly exited the room he was currently in; finding himself at a loss for words at the situation that befell him.
