I don't own any of the InuYasha characters in this fanfic. The ones I own are Kane-Sakura, Setsuna, and Trowa. Mika is owned by my friend Stephanie, Michi to my friend Nicky, and Yuki (coming in a later chapter) belongs to Danielle.

"It doesn't hurt anymore. Wanna see?" Kane held her hand out to Kaeda as she sat next to her. She began to unwrap the bandages and when she came to the last layer, she gasped in shock.
"What is it?!" Kane pulled her hand away from the old miko and inspected it herself. She too breathed in sharply when she saw the damage of the battle. "Oh my god! There's a scar on my hand!" Kane shrieked.
Where there had once been the three cuts that bled bitterly there now were three red marks in the shape of talons that got bigger at the base by her thumb and wrist. They were blood red and from right to left, each one was bigger than the last, corresponding with the middle finger, the ring finger, and the pinky of Sesshomaru's right hand….

"How soon will you be back?" InuYasha interrogated.
"I'll only be gone for about three days…"
Kane suddenly interrupted their conversation when she had heard that Kagome was going home. "Can I come along?! Please; I promise I won't get in the way!"
"Kane, you're already too…" InuYasha began.
"Come on! Just for three days! I'll come back with Kagome, I swear!" Kane got on her hands and knees and bowed towards her brother. "Pleeeeaaaase!!!"
"Let her come with me, InuYasha. She used to live in the same era as me and might need a taste of the culture she once knew as her own." Kagome whispered into InuYasha's ear. "She can train when she comes back."
"Fine, as long as…"
"YAHOOO!!!!"…

"If you girls want, you can go look around the perimeter." She walked into the office as the two demons casually walked around the school.
"So this is a school. What d'ya do here?" Mika asked as she inspected the water fountain.
Kane pulled her away from the bubbler. "We get taught things like math, science, language, music…"
"Music? I can do music!" Mika pulled out her flute.
"You play?"
"Yep, like a pro." And she softly began to play a melody on it.
"Beautiful. I have another…" Then they came to the chorus room. "Ah, here it is!" Running ahead of Mika, she dashed into the giant, sound reverberating room….

"It's a substance a lot harder than dirt; it's cement." Kane massaged her head. "And we put a dent in it."
"Should we leave?"
"Yes, we should." They walked up to the office to meet Mrs. Higurashi again.
She saw the sad shape the girls were in and asked, "What happened to you two?"
They pointed at each other. "Her." Kane and Mika said simultaneously.
"Um, well, Kane's all registered into school now, so if you feel up to it, you can both go shopping…"
Kane instantly lit up on the word `shopping'. "What are we waiting for?! Let's go!"...

Chapter 13: Enter Michi
Two days flew by quickly. On the third day, Kane and Mika couldn't stand each other anymore and they'd had enough of the present. Both girls were suffering from lack of sleep and sore bodies. Now they were returning from the polluted air of the present to the clean, fresh air of Feudal Japan. As Kane stepped out of the well, she saw someone extending a hand out to her, so she grabbed onto it and was pulled out by none other than…Trowa.
"Trowa, is that you?" Kane asked as he pulled her out of the well and into his strong embrace.
"My love, how are you these days?" He asked, pulling her away so he could see her face.
"I'm doing very well, but why'd you come back?" Kane asked stupidly.
"To make you my wife." Was the first thing to hit InuYasha's ears as he stepped out of the well.
"Trowa, you BASTARD!!" He leapt at the young man with his claws outstretched. "SANKO-TESSO!" He cried out.
Kane sighed, then lightly said, "Sit…" After he was subdued, Kane faced Trowa as he watched the hanyou smolder in the depression he'd created. She bowed and said, "I'm sorry about my brother; he hates men who like me."
"Do not apologize for something that can not be helped; but we must make haste for our wedding awaits." He took her left hand. "Let this be symbolize the love we will share in the future once we are happily wed." He slipped a white gold ring on her finger that was accompanied with a sapphire heart and six tiny diamonds.
"Oh, it's beautiful." Kane breathed. "How did you come across something like this?" Kane gave him a light peck on the cheek.
"I have servants with the ability to create glistening jewelry without much effort; they found the gold and the jewels and put it in such a fashion that they believed you would love." He kissed her hand with the ring on it. "Come, let us hurry." He pulled on her arm to take her away, but Kane held her ground.
"I can't; not now."
Trowa looked back at her in misunderstanding. "Why, my darling, do you hesitate so? Perhaps you are frightened?"
Kane shook her head. "No, I just don't know you well enough to marry you. It feels like we're going too fast."
"I see; you are uncomfortable with this pace we are taking. But I love you; don't you love me enough to risk it?"
"Trowa, we need to slow things down. I'm just not ready to get married yet." Trowa's expression made Kane feel pity for the man and she came up with an idea. "This ring is your promise to me."
"My promise to you?"
"Yeah; it means that we're engaged, but not married. It'll be your promise to me to come and get me when I'm ready to marry you." Then Kane reached into her back pack (that she had gotten to keep her things in that she had bought the day before) and brought out a ring. `This ring was from my high school sweetheart; it doesn't mean anything to me anymore anyway.' Kane thought as she slipped the ring onto Trowa's left pinky. "This is my promise; the promise that I won't forget."
"I will not forget this day. And I promise that I will return for you my love." He kissed Kane on the hand again and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Mika and Kagome poked their heads out of the well. "Kane loves Trowa? What about Setsuna?" Kagome asked the wolf demon at her right side.
"I'm guessing he kissed her. Only she would fall for such a cheap trick." She saw the ring on Kane's finger. "And jewelry, you can't forget about the accessories."
"Are you calling me a material girl?" Kane said as she looked behind her back at the two girls.
Mika ducked back inside the well, scared silly at Kane's angry face. "N-no; of course not!" Mika still knew she was in for some major pain.
"HEEL!!" Kagome watched as Mika fell to the bottom of the well and landed with a giant THUD!
Mika growled for the entire world to hear, and then said, "That's it! This time I'm leaving for good!" She hopped out of the well. "I'm tired of getting a heel command every time I open my mouth to say something."
"Maybe it would help if you didn't insult me every time!" Kane yelled in her face.
"I do not; I just state the obvious a lot!"
"Oh please, you're always calling me names and stuff like that! I bet you couldn't say something nice if your life depended on it!"
"Okay, if that's how you feel," She turned away from Kane. "I'm leaving and never coming back! I wouldn't want to say something pleasant to you anyway!" She sped away in an angry tornado.
"Good! Don't even think about coming back!" Kane yelled, but she was already too far away to catch it.

That night, Kagome and InuYasha decided to take Kane along on an adventure they had been planning for a while. Yeah, the Shikon no Tama was complete, but it turned out that Naraku had never truly died. Miroku's Wind Tunnel had disappeared for a short time, but soon returned. They needed to kill Naraku (again) before he could strike again. InuYasha had decided that Kane could tag along because she needed the training and without Mika there, he had no other choice but to take her along and coach her.
Kane reclined against a cliff far from the firelight so she could think to herself. She watched InuYasha and Kagome, whose bodies glowed a blaze orange from the inferno, making them appear unearthly. Kagome slowly leaned in towards Kane's brother and their shoulders touched. InuYasha made no movements; instead he looked down at her lovingly.
`I've never seen them like this before. I guess they haven't gotten to a point where they're comfortable being affectionate around others.' Kane mused to herself. But her attention flew from them to her sword, Teretsu. `I wish I could make it transform again. I need to show him what I can do.' Kane unsheathed it. `Nothing again.' Her face twisted into a frown of confusion. `Maybe that last time was a fluke.'
Kagome looked over at Kane as she frowned at her sword. "Kane's deep in thought over there. Wonder why."
"She's probably just sulking. It's her turn to keep watch tonight, so…" He smirked. "Hey, Kane-Sakura!"
She jumped as her thoughts were interrupted and almost dropped her sword. "Huh?!"
"It's your turn to keep watch tonight. Don't fall asleep." He turned back to the flames.
"Great. I've gotten no sleep for three nights, this'll make it four." Kane groaned. Not far away, an argument was ensuing just above Kane's head.

Mika sulked as she walked through the wooded area, twirling a gold bracelet she had gotten while shopping in the future. "Stupid brother of mine. `Go back; you've got to protect Kagome.'" She impersonated. "Big, damn, hairy deal."
A young girl, wearing the purple robes of a monk, sat in the treetops looking on as the wolf demon walked. She noticed the gold bracelet and smiled really big. "That golden object would surely get me a decent meal and a nice place to sleep. I must have it." She giggled at the prospect of finally getting a good night's rest.
Mika's sensitive ears picked up the laughter and she stopped. "Who's there?" She called out, not afraid, just cautious.
The girl instantly stopped. As Mika listened for more, and heard nothing else, she continued her grumbling. Once she was right under the girl's branch, she swung down and caught the bracelet in her hand when it passed by her again in mid air.
"What the…!" Mika asked herself, looking around for the golden object. Then she heard the girl's laughter again from up above her. She looked up and saw one sandaled foot hanging down. "It seems I've lost my bracelet. Oh well." And she casually walked away.
"I am so smart!" The monk exclaimed. Suddenly, Mika's head popped up into the tree, said, "Hello." She grabbed the girl's foot, pulled down and said, "See ya!"
"AAAHHH!!!" BOOSH!! She landed face first onto the ground.
Mika landed next to the trembling girl. "You have something I want. Give it back." She said calmly.
"Give what back? I didn't steal anything." Then Mika's face turned dark and evil as she glared at the girl. Her face began to drip in sweat. "Oh, you mean this?" She took out what looked like the bracelet Mika had been playing with.
"That's it." She swiped it from the girl. She pushed the girl out of her way and thus fell over a cliff as Mika walked away.
"AAAAAAA!!!" She fell into the bushes at the bottom and hit her head.
Mika peered down. "Good riddance." Then she looked down at her bracelet. It felt different, lighter than the last time she'd held it. "This isn't my bracelet! In fact, it isn't even a real gold bracelet!" She tossed it away and said, "That monk is DEAD!!"
Meanwhile, at the bottom of that cliff, the young girl realized that she still had the real bracelet and that the wolf demon would probably figure it out faster than she could run. She took off towards the campsite that Kane, InuYasha, and Kagome were resting in. But as suddenly as it had been a calm night with no wind whatsoever, the wind speed picked up and made the girl's hair tousle forward into her face. "Uh-oh." She stated, her voice trembling slightly.
Mika stopped right behind her. "Hello again." She said murderously.
"C-c-can I h-help you?" The monk turned around slowly only to come face to face with the demoness.
"Actually, I believe you can." Mika draped an arm over the monk's shoulders. "You see, I'm looking for this young girl monk who stole my bracelet and I really need it back. You wouldn't happen to know where she is do you?"
"Um, yeah she went that way!" She pointed towards the west, but Mika extended her claws.
"I ain't stupid!" She held her hand out. "This time, give me the real bracelet; it was a gift."
"Oh, you mean me. Here you go." She handed over the real wristlet and Mika finally let go. But when she turned to leave, Mika grabbed her robe collar.
"Hold up." She lifted the bracelet up and down and twirled in her fingers to see if the weight was familiar. Sure enough, it was real. "Yep, this is my bracelet." She positioned the young girl over the cliff, then dropped her.
"NOTAGAAAAAAAIN!!!" BOOSH!! "OW!!" Kane yelled out from where she sat. The girl had landed right on top of Kane and now a cloud of dust covered both girls. When it cleared and Mika saw Kane sprawled on the ground under the monk, Mika said, "Aw shit! She's gonna kill me!" Mika sped off, not sure if Kane had seen her or not.
~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`
As Trowa approached, Kane heard some one screaming out, "Not again!" And it was getting closer, very fast. At this, Kane realized she was dreaming and she awoke to find that the `Not again!' was still going on. She looked up just in time to see someone falling headlong into her.
"- - -AAAAAIN!!!" BOOSH!! "OW!!!" Kane yelled out. The dust flew, making it almost impossible to breathe.
Once it was cleared and Kane had regained her senses, she looked down at the girl who had passed out on contact. InuYasha and Kagome had both woken from their sleep and ran over to her. They pulled the girl off of Kane and she laid there with dust covering her kimono. They laid the strangely dressed girl on the ground and began to inspect her. She carried a golden staff that curved at the top into a strange looking rod or a spear. Her right hand also had this weird covering like Miroku's. It even had the rosary of beads. Her clothing was that of a monk only more feminine touches were added; for example she had it shortened had a slit going up one side. Her hair was black as a ravens and she was very short.
"Who is this girl?" Kane asked, not sure if she'd even get an answer.
"I think I know her." InuYasha said.
"Really?" Kane and Kagome said simultaneously. Kane's tone was questioning, Kagome's was more serious.
"It looks like this is Miroku's sister. He told me once that his father had been womanizing once more before he had died and this was produced." InuYasha snickered. "She doesn't look that much like him to tell the truth."
"He never mentioned a younger sister to me." Kane said while she poked her with her scabbard.
Suddenly, the girl started to groan as she came to. She slowly opened her eyes and peered at the group of strangers. Even though she was awake, reality was far from her sights. "That's the third time today…" She said dreamily. Then she saw Kane's and InuYasha's dog-ears and she freaked. "WOLVES!!!" She shrieked out. She did a back hand-spring to get away from the `danger' and held her right hand out.
"Girl, what do you hope to accomplish by pointing your dirty mitt at us?" InuYasha joked.
"KAZANNA!!!" She yelled out as she opened her Wind Tunnel.
Kane unsheathed Teretsu and stuck it in the ground to keep her footing. "Nice going bro; now you made her mad!" She yelled out. "Did it ever occur to you that she might carry the curse as well?!"
"How was I supposed to know she'd have Miroku's Wind Tunnel too!?" He yelled as he held onto Kagome, his own sword stuck in the ground.
The wind stopped. "You know who I am?" She had stopped her attack, but she kept a cautious hand on her rosary, ready to pull it off if the made any wrong moves.
"Kind of. All I know is that you're Miroku's little sister." InuYasha stated.
"You're half right. I'm his half-sister. We're related through our father; that's why I have this curse in my hand." She looked at her hand, her gaze softening.
"You know, your falling on top of me really hurt." Kane got in her face.
"She smiled and put up a peace sign. "M-Michi thanks you? Heh-heh…" She stated cautiously.
Kane unsheathed Teretsu, but it didn't transform; again. Nonetheless, she pointed it in her face as the girl called Michi got on her hands and knees. "Please don't kill me! I-I've got nowhere to go! I can't find my older brother!" She put her face to the ground. "And it wasn't my fault I fell on you!"
"Kane, sheath your sword." Kagome said. "She didn't mean to fall on you."
When she didn't listen, InuYasha said, "Stay…"he paused as Kane fell to the ground. "…here with us. We'll lead you to Miroku in the morning."
"Watch what you're saying!" Kane yelled, not realizing he had said it intentionally.
They sat by a newly built fire while Michi told her story to the group. "Yesterday, I was enjoying a good meditation when I overheard two people talking about my brother. They had said, `A lecherous monk who's traveling with two girls and two demons, one of which is a dog demon, is to be feared.' I only knew it was my brother when I heard `Kazanna' mentioned by the same person who had warned the other person of him. Even though I don't know my way around here, I decided to travel and look for him."
"What I don't understand is why you screamed `wolves' when you came to. Are you afraid of them?" Kane asked.
"No, a wolf attacked me. She had pulled me out of a tree, pushed me off of a cliff, and then she dropped me on top of you."
"What provoked her?" InuYasha asked in suspicion.
"I don't know; I was just relaxing in my favorite tree and getting ready to fall asleep, and then she attacked and pulled me out of the tree!" She lied.
"I don't believe you…"
Michi hit Kane on the head with her staff. "And why not? I'm telling the truth!"
"Owww…"
"Wolves need to be provoked in order to attack another, unless they're hunting. Was this wolf a demon or regular wolf?" InuYasha asked.
"A wolf demon. She had long black hair tied up in pony tail and she had this tail sticking out of her skimpy wolf dress."
"Sounds like someone I know." Kane said sarcastically. "Did she by any chance have a beaded bracelet on her left wrist?"
"I think so; why?"
Kane nodded. "That was Mika, someone I used to know. She must've been bored and attacked you."
Michi's face filled with sweat. "Yeah, guess so."
The night wore on slowly as Kane forced herself to stay up and keep guard. Michi sat next to her, too wide awake to sleep. Kane yawned. "Why aren't you sleeping?"
"Oh, I'm not really that tired. You look like you haven't slept in days." Michi said.
"I haven't. Mika's snoring kept me up all night for three nights. I really need…"
"What about my snoring?" Mika said behind Kane. She jumped away from the two girls and into a nearby tree after Mika had said that. Kane glared at her when she started to snicker.
"You! You're that wolf that pulled me down, pushed me off a cliff, and dropped me!"
Mika turned back to Michi. "And if it ain't the girl who almost got away with my bracelet. What're you doing here?"

A small cliffy, but nothing too big. I hope you enjoyed this chapter! And I know girls can't be monks, but this girl is an exception.
