Chapter 3: Sakura is Missing

Flashback

"Neechan!" A little girl called. "Come look at this!"

Sakura walked over to her little sister squatting down next to the pond looking at the fishes inside. She had come home from the States for a short holiday during spring. So they had decided on having a picnic in the park with their parents under a fully bloom Sakura Tree. She knelt down next to her little sister.

"They are so cute." Her little sister said.

"Do you like them, Selina?" Sakura asked.

"Hai," Selina smiled up at her elder sister happily.

"Well, tomorrow we will go the pet shop to get one for you, would you like that?" Sakura asked at her beaming sister.

They were then interrupted by some notorious boys.

"Hey pretty girl," One of them said. "What to come on a date with me?"

Sakura got up to her feet glaring at them with Selina clutching on her jeans staring at those boys in fright.

"I won't hurt the little girl if you agree." The boy said grinning spitefully.

"I hate it when people uses, mean tricks to force me to do things." Sakura said heatedly.

"Nani?" The boy cried furiously.

"Run, Selina!" Sakura whispered to her sister.

Selina ran off then to look for their parents. Without difficulty, Sakura defeated the boy, and soon the rest ran away screaming, carrying the wounded one with them. Just then, their father appeared with Selina.

"Sakura," The father called sternly.

"Jijiwae…" Sakura turned to their father surprised.

"How many times have I got to tell you never to hurt the weak?" He looked at Sakura sternly.

"But… they…" Sakura stammered.

"I thought you Judo and Kenpo is not for you to hurt people but to help others." He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Gomenasai…" Sakura lowered her head to the ground.

"Come, Okasan had made lunch for us," He said walking away.

Feeling depressed Sakura followed her father her head bowed. Then she felt someone holding her hand softly. She looked down and saw Selina smiling up at her proudly holding her hand.

"You were amazing, Neechan." Selina said beaming up at her older sister.

Sakura's eyes widened, and slowly she smiled gratefully.

End of Flashback…

Sakura opened her eyes slowly, and a very bright blue sky came to view. She put her hand up her forehead slowly and sat up wondering what had just happened. She had been dreaming about her pass events with her family for the pass few days. Every time she sleeps, their images and the things they had done together will come into her dream. She sighed softly.

"Selina," She whispered softly. Her little sister had always been really nice to her. Her father was tough on her and her mother was very sweet.

She looked around wondering where was she and found that tall gorgeous looking male not far from her sitting under a tree resting with the two headed dragon sleeping next to him. She blinked standing up slowly. Her arm still throbbed slightly and she turned to look at it. Her sleeve was torn as if someone had ripped it off and the wound she had had stopped bleeding though it seemed liked it had been cut not bitten.

Sesshoumaru opened his eyes when he felt the girl move. Slowly he moved his eyes over to her to see her on her feet examining her wound. She then looked around cautiously with a curious and lost look on her face.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, see what Rin had caught," Rin suddenly appeared with Jaken with a string of fish in her hand. Then she saw Sakura standing looking at her with surprised "Ah, neechan had woken up! Sesshoumaru-sama, look neechan had woken up!"

Sakura's eyes clouded watching Rin. She had reminded her so much of Selina.

Sesshoumaru watched Sakura's eyes shadowed slightly watching Rin sadly. He blinked once not understanding why. Rin had always been so happy and bright but he could sense that this girl was struggling from something she wanted to forget for the rest of her life.

Sakura knelt down so that she would be the same height with Rin. "What is your name?"

"Rin," Rin replied happily. "What about you?"

"Sakura," She said softly.

"That is Sesshoumaru-sama," Rin looking over to Sesshoumaru who now had his gaze else where. "And that is Jaken-sama. This is Ah Aun; I always ride with him when I travel with Sesshoumaru-sama. Sesshoumaru-sama had just saved you; he cut the poison out of your hand."

"Soh kah?" Sakura whispered and looked down at her arm. So that is why it looked like a cut.

"Baka Rin stopped talking to this human and let's make a fire." Jaken said angrily. "You want to cook your fish don't you?"

"Hai," Rin said happily joining Jaken.

Sakura straighten up again watching them. This human? She thought slightly furious. Can't this toad be more polite while he talks… what if I'm human… what is he anyway? Monster?

Raising her eyebrow slightly, she pushed the thought away, monster indeed. She turned to Sesshoumaru and walked over to him.

"Arigatou, for saving my life." Sakura said softly.

Sesshoumaru just remained his silent self looking straight ahead of him.

Sakura then turned away from him when he didn't reply. I need to find a way to go home, she thought walking away from them. They were at a clearing near the river. She wondered if she should enter the woods by herself as she walked closer to the trees.

"It is no use going off by yourself." She then heard a cold an unemotional voice spoke behind her giving her a fright.

She turned around to see Sesshoumaru standing behind her looking at her with his cold beautiful golden eyes of his.

"As you can see for yourself, there are demons roaming around." Sesshoumaru continued when Sakura looked at him slightly confused.

"Demons?" Sakura repeated. "You mean those are demons?" She pointed over to Jaken.

Jaken turned to Sakura angrily.

"Baka, Sesshoumaru-sama is a demon himself!" He yelled at Sakura. "He is the Taiyoukai of the Western Land. You better show him respect!"

Sakura turned to look at Sesshoumaru now beginning to be more frightened. This man, no this being in front of me is a demon too! She took a step back. Moh how can I get myself into things like this?

Sesshoumaru could sense her fear then, as he looked into her exquisite pair of eyes. Not knowing why, he didn't want this girl to fear him as he continued to stare at her. The awkward silence broke by Rin cheerful cries then.

"Sakura neechan, come the fish is ready!" Rin said happily running to Sakura and took her by her hand dragging her to the fire place where they cook their fish.

"Huh…" Sakura looked down at Rin as she pulled her away from Sesshoumaru. "Er… ha... hai!"

"Here neechan," Rin passed her a cooked fish.

"Arigatou," Sakura took it and stare at it. She wasn't at all that hungry. In fact she thought she had lost her stomach since the time she came to this weird place. She move her eyes over to Sesshoumaru slowly only to see him standing not far from them his back facing them watching over the horizon.

Sesshoumaru could sense the girl watching him cautiously. She was no longer frightened but she didn't trust him at all. Slowly he turned his head slightly to look at her. He saw her turning away quickly and blush a light shed of pink.

Sakura didn't know why she blushed, and didn't know why her heart was beating so fast when Sesshoumaru turned around to look at her that way. Even he was a demon; he was amazingly good looking. She stole another peek at him, and saw he was looking back at the horizon again.

"Neechan, aren't going to eat your fish?" Rin asked quietly.

"Huh?" Sakura turned back to Rin surprised. "Actually I am not that hungry…"

"Rin is very hungry…" Rin said solemnly.

"Here why don't you take my fish too then?" Sakura said smiling passing her the untouched fish.

"Honto?" Rin cheered up immediately. "Arigatou.

Sakura inclined her head watching the little girl wondering, why would this little girl follow two Youkai in a journey to an unknown destination. Sakura does not know.

"NANI!" Kagome cried. "Sakura is not home!"

"She wasn't at the bottom of the steps when I went to find her." Sota said. "Do you think she went through the well?"

"How can that be, only Inuyasha and I can go through that well," Kagome moaned doubting her own words. "No other."

"Why don't you ask Inuyasha to help?"

"I think I will!" Kagome dashed out the house and disappeared down the well then.

Sesshoumaru had begun on their journey again after Rin had finished eating. They had been walking for a very long duration and Rin was already riding on Ah Aun. Sakura however dragged her feet along as she looked up the sky. The sky was already streaked with red, yellow and purple for the sun was setting.

Night fall will come soon. Sakura thought looking straight ahead again watching Sesshoumaru leading them on. How long are we going to travel like this? All I want is to go home.

Inuyasha sniff the ground and looked at Kagome.

"So, you found her?" Kagome asked anxiously.

"She is here in the feudal time for sure." Inuyasha said standing up to look at Kagome. "I make no mistake her smell, like the one you had asked me to track are the same. The same smell."

"Oh no, what am I to do!" Kagome groaned shutting her face. "I didn't know she can go through the well like I can!"

"Calm down Kagome-chan." Sango said comfortingly. "We will find her don't worry."

"Sango is right, Kagome-sama." Miroko joined in the conversation. "We will help you."

Shippo jumped on top of Kagome's shoulder. "I will help too."

Kagome looked up at them smiling. "Arigatou, you don't know how much this will mean to me."

"We will find her in no time," Shippo said comfortingly. "Let's start straight away."

"Feh, a puny fox like you can find her? Yeah right." Inuyasha scoffed. "You all also have to wait for me to track her down anyway."

"Inuyasha…" Kagome said softly.

Sweat dropped appeared from Inuyasha's forehead.

"Then hurry up track her down before she got eaten by some demon or something!" Kagome yelled angrily at Inuyasha.

"Wakata, wakata," Inuyasha said as Kagome got on his back and they were off with Sango and Miroko on Kirara.

Sakura could feel her legs aching but she didn't complain as she continued to follow Sesshoumaru. The sky had already darkened as they continued their journey in the woods. Sighing inwardly, Sakura looked up the sky again to see that it was brightly lit by stars. She gasped softly looking at the stars. She had never in her life seen such a beautiful sight before when she was in the States nor when she was in Tokyo or Nagoya. Not concentrating on where she was going and unintentionally tripped over a protruding root of a tree. Stumbling forward she landed on Sesshoumaru's fur around his arm as she grabbed hold of his back so that she wouldn't fall face down on her face.

Sesshoumaru had stopped walking when he felt Sakura collide onto him. He turned his head slightly around to see Sakura had grabbed onto him for support. Jaken was staring at the scene opened mouth and sweat drop on his head. He watched her looked up at him slowly and uncertainly. Quickly as she had collided onto him, she moved away her head bowed.

"Sumimmesen, I didn't mean to knock into you…" Sakura said softly not daring to look at the Lord's eyes.

Sesshoumaru watched her for a moment before he turned back to the front. He can sense fatigue in that girl's body, though she didn't show any. One tough girl, he thought to himself bemused. He had always thought human to be weak and full of complains but his girl barely even groaned or make a sound even when her feet hurts. He could sense it too.

"Jaken, we will rest here tonight." He said and went off to a tree and sat down.

"Hai, Sesshoumaru-sama." Jaken said pulled An Aun to the side with Rin sleeping on top.

"Ah reh, we have stopped?" Rin woke up when Ah Aun lay down to rest.

"Sesshoumaru-sama, said we will rest here so we will." Jaken answered curtly.

Sakura was glad Sesshoumaru had announced for some rest. She had chosen a place where she can still see Sesshoumaru but made sure it was a good distance from him before she sat down. Slowly she took off her shoes to message her feet. She had never worn this pair of black leather shoes before, and it was pinching her feet like hell while she walked the whole time. She pulled off her white socks then to examine her feet, to find a few blisters on it. Taking her brown leather bag from her back she opened it to look for some plasters she usually keep in store in her school bag when things like this happens. She found them and put the plasters on her blisters carefully.

"Sakura-neechan." Rin bounded off to her side. "What are doing so far from the group?"

"Huh?" Sakura looked up at Rin smiling. She quickly pulled her socks on again. "I thought this place, rather comfortable so I decided to rest here."

"I see," Rin grinned. "You have very weird clothes."

"It's my school uniform…" Sakura said softly putting her shoes on again.

"School uniform?" Rin looked at Sakura confused. "What is school uniform?"

"Well, it is sort of clothing to tell people where or which school we are from." Sakura explained patiently.

"What is a school then?"

Sakura looked at Rin amazed. "A school is where little girls and boys like you and I go to learn things."

"Honto, I want to go there too…"

"…." Sakura looked at Rin's eager face not knowing how to tell her that she can't go there for she doesn't even know how to get home herself.

Sesshoumaru watched the two girls from afar as he listened to their conversation. He had no interest in what school was for nor what uniforms were but what interest him was how did this extraordinary girl come to this place and was all alone. When Sakura couldn't answer whether Rin could go to school or not. Sesshoumaru knew that this girl didn't even know how to get home to her people.

For Laughs

Ray: (Stretched herself and took off earplugs) Good everyone's busy now… some peace at last.

Sakura: Busy alright… what am I to do with my feet!

Ray: (Turned to the flustered Sakura apologetically) Gomen, maybe the next time you travel there I will let you wear sport shoes.

Sakura: You better! Sesshoumaru walks so much, this leather shoes are killing me!

Ray: Hmmm, maybe I should make him rest more.

Sesshoumaru: (Appeared swiftly beside Ray) You dare!

Ray: (Sweat dropped) Ok, ok I will find a way! (Sighs)

Ray's thoughts: MOH, it is not easy to be a writer after all!
