Chapter 15: Return Home

Sesshoumaru put Sakura down gently when he reached the palace. When they entered the front door, Rin came sprinting up to Sakura with Reisha close behind.

"Sakura!" Rin cried running up to her.

Sakura smiled slightly and picked Rin up into her arms when she reached her.

"I was so worried about you." Reisha said. "Are you all right?"

"I'm fine," Sakura replied. "Don't worry, Sesshoumaru-sama came…"

She looked up at Sesshoumaru smiling gratefully. "I'm really glad you did…"

Sesshoumaru remained silent watching her, wondering when he would be able to see her again. He wished really badly she didn't need to go. Even he felt his heart tearing he made sure he didn't show it as he looked at Sakura expressionlessly.

Isn't he sad that I'm leaving? Sakura wondered. Sighing inwardly, she put Rin down on the floor and knelt down in front of her.

"Rin," Sakura begin softly and slowly. "There is something I need to tell you."

"What is it?"

"Neechan, is going to go away for a while…"

"Can Rin come too?"

Sakura watched Rin's hopeful face, her heart failing her. Taking a deep breath she continued after a short pause.

"Well, I'm afraid you may not be able to follow me…" Sakura said hesitantly. "I'm going home…"

"But you are home…" Rin quickly protested.

"No Rin," Sakura shook her head slightly. "Did you remember the night when I told you that I have to return home to my aunt one day?"

Tears began to well up in Rin's eyes as she stared at Sakura.

"Please don't cry…" Sakura whispered hugging Rin close to her. Why are good byes always so difficult? "I promise you that I will come back to see you."

"What if you can't?" Rin sobbed.

Sakura let go of Rin and stood up, she looked over at Reisha who looked pretty sad too at the news that she was going to leave.

"Reisha, could you bring me my bag in my room?" Sakura asked. "The brown funny looking thing I was carrying when I first came here…"

"I remember…" Reisha said. "I'll bring it..."

"Noooo…" Rin wailed then. "Don't give it to her… she will be leaving then."

"Rin, stop your crying, Sakura has to go." Sesshoumaru said sternly even though his heart felt like a million knifes slashing him.

"But…" Rin sniffed.

Sakura remained quiet as she stared down the floor. Kicking herself for getting involved with them so deeply. She should have known better not to get so deeply devoted to them. Even Sesshoumaru wasn't showing any emotions, she couldn't blame him after all she was leaving them. Reisha came back with Sakura's bag then. Taking it slowly she opened it and took out the black cover book and took out one of the photos. She knelt down to Rin again.

"Here Rin I want you to have this." Sakura said passing Rin the photo of her and her sister. "And make sure you don't lose it."

Rin took it slowly sniffing.

"I will come back for it." Sakura said with a small smile.

"Really?" Rin exclaimed looking slightly happier then.

Sakura nodded. "Hai, I will come back for it, so make sure you keep it well."

"Hai," Rin nodded smiling in returned.

Sakura stood up and turned to Sesshoumaru who was watching her with his expression guarded carefully. She swung her bag behind her back and inclined her head looking up at Sesshoumaru curiously.

"I guess I should be going back to Kagome…" Sakura said softly.

Sesshoumaru nodded once, they walked out the palace with Rin and Reisha following along. Sesshoumaru encircled his arm around Sakura's waist and took off into the sky again.

"Remember to come back!" Rin shouted at them waving her arm.

Sakura turned back slightly to see Rin looking at her until they disappeared. It was perhaps almost near late in the evening when they reach Inuyasha Forest. Sesshoumaru land on a clearing not far from the village Kaede stayed in. He could smell his half brother's scent very clearly, telling him that they had only reached not long ago.

"If you follow this path you will reach the village…" Sesshoumaru said as he stared straight ahead avoiding Sakura's eyes. "Your cousin is waiting for you."

"Sesshoumaru-sama…" Sakura whispered. "Aren't you coming with me?"

He remained silent as he continued to avoid looking at her.

"Arigatou…" Sakura said sadly when she realized Sesshoumaru was not going to accompany her to the village.

Slowly turning away her head bowed she started to walk away when suddenly she felt Sesshoumaru's arm grabbed hold of hers and wheeled her around crushing her body against his embracing her tightly. Tears began to appear in Sakura's eyes then.

Sesshoumaru was falling into pieces when they came near Inuyasha Forest. He had used up all his inner strength to push down the urge to hold Sakura close to him and never letting her go. However, his inner strength failed him when Sakura turned to leave. Impulsively he pulled her back to embrace her suddenly feeling afraid that he will never see her again and he never thought he would ever be afraid of anything before. How he wished that he had both his arm now. Cursing Inuyasha for taking his left arm away from him; his right arm tightened around Sakura then. He couldn't let her go… but he knew sooner or later, he still had to.

"Sumimesen," Sakura said in a muffled voice as she buried her face on his chest. "For all the trouble I had cost you…"

Sesshoumaru growled softly releasing her, he stroked her hair soothingly. "You had never brought trouble…" he said softly.

He couldn't believe Sakura who refuse to cry before was crying at the moment and it was because she didn't want to leave him. With only that feeling made him feel slightly better.

They stood there in each other arms for nearly almost a few minutes before Sakura finally spoke again.

"I have to go…" She said hoarsely as tears ran freely down her face.

Pulling away kindly and slowly from Sesshoumaru, Sakura looked up to see Sesshoumaru looking down at her warmly. She smiled through her tears.

"I'm really glad that I met you Sesshoumaru-sama…" Sakura said.

Recklessly, Sakura stood on her toes as she reached up towards Sesshoumaru giving him a short and tender kiss on his lips.

Sesshoumaru close his eyes momentarily when he felt Sakura's soft lips touched his gently. Her scent was lingering around him as he growled quietly pulling her back to give her a more demanding kiss. Sakura didn't pull back as she relaxed against him giving in to his kiss; losing all her senses.

However, she came back to her right mind after some time passed as she pulled away from Sesshoumaru tenderly and reluctantly.

"I really must go…" Sakura whispered their faces only inches apart after the kiss.

Sesshoumaru took a deep breath and nodded once letting go of her.

"I promise you I'll come back." Sakura said as she took a step back from him.

Sesshoumaru watched Sakura turned away from him as she walked down the path he had told her to take until she disappeared between the trees.

"I'll wait for your return." Sesshoumaru whispered.

Sakura walked into the village slowly, forcing herself not to look back. She knew that if she did, she wouldn't be able to leave Sesshoumaru. Taking a deep breath she cross a bridge that led her to the other side of the river where a few rows of wooden houses stood. She then saw Kagome standing by one of the wooden houses next to a long flight of stairs with a red archway. That archway looked very much a like the one at Higurashi Shrine in Tokyo where the flight of stairs will lead to Kagome's home. She blinked once and turned to Kagome with a smile.

"It's time I bring you home Sakura…" Kagome said. "And Inuyasha don't you dare stop me from going."

"I didn't say anything…" Inuyasha protested coming out from the hut.

Sakura inclined her head slightly looking at the youkai with doggy years and silver hair like Sesshoumaru's. Kagome saw her curious stare and smacked her own forehead.

"How can I forget…?" She said. "Let me introduce you to my friends before going home Sakura."

Sakura nodded once slowly.

"OK, this is Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru's half brother." Kagome said.

"Inuyasha is a youkai?" Sakura asked watching him intently. No wonder he had silver hair like Sesshoumaru-sama… she thought silently.

"No, he is a hayou; his half human." Kagome explained. "I'll get into details when we go home OK… let me introduce you to the rest. They are inside."

Sakura followed, Kagome into the small wooden house and saw the monk, the girl with a huge boomerang and a cute little youkai with bushy brown tail.

"This is Sango," Kagome said gesturing her hand to the girl who smiled at her then she turned towards the little youkai with bushy brown tail. "And Shippou…"

"Hello," Sakura smiled in returned.

"This is Miroku…" Kagome continued. "And he is very famous for…"

Before she could finish her sentence, Miroku was already on his feet and clutching both Sakura's hands in his. Miroku leaned forward towards her as he looked into her eyes intently. Sakura could only raise an eyebrow at his strange behaviour.

"Could you bare my child?" Miroku asked seriously.

"Huh?" Sakura eyes widened with surprised.

"You hentai!!!!" Sango cried smashing her fist at Miroku's head.

"Ah, well…" Kagome shook her head slightly. "That is what he is famous for…"

Sakura hid a smile watching Sango fuming over Miroku. They were really one cute couple, suddenly something brushed against Sakura's ankle gently and she looked down to see a cutest little yellow cat with a black diamond marking on its forehead and it had two tails with some black line markings. She blinked.

"Kawaii…" Sakura whispered.

"Oh, how can I forget…?" Kagome smiled. "This is Kirara, Sango's very loyal pet."

Sakura bent down to pick Kirara up cuddling it close to her.

"Kirara," Sakura whispered. "You have a nice name…"

"Meow…"

"Well, there is someone else I want you to meet before leaving." Kagome said heading out to the door. "She is Kaede, a very nice old lady who had helped me a lot. I think she is in the herbs garden."

Sakura placed Kirara down gently and followed Kagome outside again. She then saw the old lady Kagome speaking off in a small garden picking plants and placing them into a basket.

"Kaede, I want you to meet my cousin I had spoken to you about!" Kagome exclaimed running towards her. "We finally found her!"

Kaede looked up and saw a girl in weird clothing like Kagome's though hers were slightly different with different colours. She had the most enchanting face she had ever seen. This girl was different, very different though Kaede couldn't think of what ways she was different from other normal human girls. She stood up slowly to greet Sakura as she came closer.

"Kaede-sama…" Sakura gave a bow.

"My child, Kagome had been so worried about you when you were missing in this time."

Sakura looked up bewilderedly. "This time?"

"Don't you know where you are Sakura?" Kagome asked.

Sakura shook her head slightly.

"Well, you are five hundred years back in time!" Kagome said. "I was surprised myself that you were able to come here for it was only Inuyasha and I who could use the well."

"The well? You mean the old well in the Shrine could transport us back in time?"

"Only certain people…" Kagome said. "Speaking of the well, we better head over there before dark. There are so many things we have to talk about… Let's have a nice hot bath together and talk! How does that sound?"

"Great!" Sakura smiled softly.

Soon, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara accompanied the two girls back to the well. They stood around saying their good byes before leaving.

"Don't forget, I only give you three days!" Inuyasha snapped.

"Oh please!" Kagome rolled her eyes. "I had spent so much time here this few weeks, give me a break will you! I'll be back in another five days time."

"That is too long…" Inuyasha started to protest then. "We cannot wait five days…"

"Suit yourself, but I leaving for five days!" Kagome said climbing over the well and sat on the wall for a moment she turned around to see whether Sakura was following and saw her close behind. "You ready Sakura?"

"What am I suppose to do?" Sakura asked slightly scared looking into the well full of bones.

"Just jump…" Kagome smiled slipping off the well and into the well.

"Well, ja…" Sakura said to the others before turning back to the well to see Kagome already gone. Taking a deep breath she climbed over the wall of the well. "Here goes…"

She slipped off the well falling inside, not aware that someone close by was watching them.

Sesshoumaru was curious where Sakura's home was and decided to stay behind and wait. Soon he heard the whole group of his half brother friends and also Sakura coming into the forest. He jumped up into one of the trees and watched them; he could hear their conversation very clearly and he didn't understand a single thing that girl, Kagome was saying.

Jump down the well? He thought to himself bewilderedly. But why?

He frowned slightly at the scene displayed before him. That girl, Kagome jumped into the well first and a pink glow illuminated from the bottom and her scent was cut off completely. Soon, he watched Sakura followed suit, he nearly flew down to grab her back but as soon as she slipped off the wall the glow appeared again and her scent was totally cut off too. Besides that he couldn't feel her aura any longer nearly made him fall off the branch. He realized that Sakura had completely disappeared.

What is going on? He thought staring hard into the well. Where did she go?

For laugh

Sango: You had been inside there for hours Rin… please come out!"

Rin: No, not until Sakura comes back!

Ray jingling on her seat.

Inuyasha: I think she will come back with Kagome in five days time…

Rin: I'll wait till then.

Ray: She can't stay in there for five days! (Whispered and jingling on her seat)

Miroku: Rin, be good and come on out…

Rin: NO…

Ray: She is not coming out? (Groaned slightly)

Everyone shook their head. Sesshoumaru leaned on a far wall looking calm and somewhat amused watching Ray.

Sango: Sesshoumaru, why don't you ask her to come out? She listens to you…

Ray: Please… I beg you…

Sesshoumaru remained silent and smirked. Ray frowned and walked over to the door and knocked then.

Ray: Rin, Ray needs to use the toilet! (Jingling on the spot knocking on the door) You don't want me to pee in my pants right.

The door swung opened and a very huffy Rin walked out.

Ray: Thanks! You can go back inside and sulk after I use it. (Ran in and slam the door shut!)
