Chapter 2

As Kagome sat in her chair crying, she thought back to when they firs had talked with one another that is with out cursing each other out.

The sun was shining through Kagome's window and hit her face. She woke up and stretched. She leaned up on her bed and was now sitting up right. She wondered if she would ever see that half demon with the white hair, Inuyasha, again. For soe reason he was still on her mind, even though it had been about 3 weeks since she had her encounter with him. One of the servants, Kagura, had come in to get Kagome dressed. She was tying the corset tight as usual, tight enough that Kagome could barely breathe. When Kagura had finished getting Kagome dressed and was about to leave the room Kagome stopped her.

"You know, it isn't necesary for you to dress me every morning. I know it's part of your job, but, I mean you don't have to I wont tell."

"Miss Kagome. Your father hired me to take care of you , and that's what I'm going to do. Thank you, for your kindness."

Kagura exited Kagome's room. Kagome felt bad that Kagura had to do such things like getting a young woman who is capable of doing it by herself dressed. Kagome was sick of her father hiring these "half demons" to do their bidding. She found it sickening. Kagome decided she needed out of her father's house for the day. She walked by the same lake she had seen Inuyasha 3 weeks earlier. Kagome couldn't believe her eyes. A white long haired boy was sitting by the lake tossing rocks into it. Kagome was excited, excited to see the boy she met only once and who was so rude to her. She was going to walk over to him and atleast say mpre than 3 words to him. She relized that she was so excited it was getting harder to breathe. She took her dress off and corset, al that was left was the garmets that is worn under the dress. Kagome walked over to Inuyasha and sat down next to him.

"Um..Hi" Kagome seemed to whisper out.

"Oh it's you. What are you doing here?"

"I needed to get out of my house. What are you doing here?"

"Well Miroku , u remember him?, well he got a new job.. at some fancy place. And he isn't allowed really to 'mingle with the people outside of the gates'.."

"Oh, he isn't allowed to talk to you?" Kagome said sencing something familiar with what Inuyasha had said.

"Why are you even talking to me? I'm only half human, only half demon!"

"So, it doesn't matter"

"It doesn't?"

"Not to me it doesn't."

"Well..thanks" Inuyasha whispered.

"I'm sorry."

"Why are you sorry?" Inuyasha asked confused.

Kagome turned her head teary eyed and looked in Inuyasha's eyes. She noticed they were a bright gold. They were the most wonderful eyes she had ever seen.

"I'm sorry for what my step sister , Sango, had said the day i met you"

"You didn't say it don't be sorry"

"Ok...thanx"

Kagome looked up at the sky. She saw the sun was setting. The sky was so beatiful. It was a red,orange,golden color until the top which was and bluish black. She thought to herself it was kinda like Inuyasha. On the outside he's a black type of person. But, if you get to know him he's a warm redish orange type person all the way to his golden eyes. Kagome found her self staring at Inuyasha smiling.

"What are you lookin at" Inuyasha said roughly.

"You. I mean, nothing." Kagome said getting nervous."I have to go. I was supposed to be back by sun down"

"Ok, I would walk you home, but I don;t think your parents might want to see you with me."

"Yea my dad might freak out alittle." Kagome joked.

"Um..I..I um, might be here again tomorrow night. You know if you want to like barge in like you did tonight." Inuyasha said basically just asking Kagome to please be there.

"Ok, I might be here then"

"Good. I mean okay, cool what ever you want"

Kagome smiled at Inuyasha warmly and started for her house. She relized she was late and started running. She ran through the gate and up the stairs to the door. Where she was greeted by a servant to take her jacket.

"Um no, I'm still cold" She said relizing she left her dress and things by the lake. She looked up and relized that the servant asking for her jacket was familiar. "Miroku? is that you?" Kagome asked confused.

"Yes Miss Higurashi"

"Where's Kagura?"

"You father has told Mis Kagura that her services would be needed more towards Lady Sango due to her coming out party coming up this week."

"Oh. So my dad is your boss?..And he's the one that told you, you couldn't talk to anyone outside. I knew it!" Kagome said aggrivated. SHe marched up to her room and slammed the door shut. She layed down on her bed and looked up at her white ceiling. 'At least one good thing happened today' Kagome told her self referring to Inuyasha.

Kagome snapped back to reality when she was being tugged on by Rin again.

"Sister Daddy said he found someone you should meet."

Kagome stood up, dryed her tears, put on a fake smile, and walked to her father who was standing with a gentleman.

"Honey this is Kouga. He owns his own land not too far from here." Kagome's father said.

"Well that's lovely" Kagome said with a hint of attitude in her voice.

Her father hugged her. " Don't screw this up like your step sister Sango did" Kagome's father whispered in her ear as they embraced. They separated and Kagome took Kouga's hand to dance. Kagome remembered the day of Sango's party.

"Kagome I'm so excited. To think tonight I could meet the man of my dreams"

Kagome noticed Sango wasn't really happy. Normally Sango giggles and jumps around as though she was around the age of Rin. But now, She seemed sort of calmed down. Kagome even caught Sango at some ponts durring that day frowning almost ready to cry. "Yea you look excited." Kagome said lying.

"Actually, Kagome. I, if I were to tell you something you wouldn't tell your father would you?"

"Of course I wouldn't."

"I was dreading this day for so long. I, I am already in love with someone."

"Who Sango?"

"You aren't going to believe me. But, you know our newest servant Miroku? Well, I know it might be wrong but I'm in love with him!" Sango said almost shouting."But ur father wont ever approve. I mean, I don't think I would have approved 2 weeks ago either."

"Sango if you love him you must be with him"

"You're right. I have to talk to him tonight"

Sango left in hurry to her room. When she saw Miroku pass by she pulled him in. "Miroku we have to talk."

"I'm working Sango it'll have to wait."

"It can't. By the time you'll be off it'll be to late. I can't go through with this tonight. I love you, I can't be with anyone else."

"Sango I love you too, and I also want the best for you. I can't give you the best. Someone else can. Not to mention what your step father would do if he found out"

"Found out what?!" A stern voice said from the door way.

"Mr. Higurashi , daddy, I...this isn't what it looks like"

"You know what the punishment is for even befriending one of these creatures is."

"Daddy no you can't!!"

The next morning a be heading was schedualed. The sky was dark and grey. and the air was crisp and cold. A man in black brought Miroku to the block of wood where he was to put his head. "Any last words" The man in black snickred.

"Yes...I don't regreat a thing. I'd fall in love with Sango again if I was given a second chance." Miroku said.

The man in black brought Miroku's head down to the wood. He raised his large axe in the air and with a single powerful thrust brought it down sending Miroku's head into the basket that was on the fall. Everyone was silent. Except for Sango. The only thing you heard was the sounds from Sango as she screamed and the silent laughter of Kagome's dad.

"Now you, Slut stand up" Kagome's father said in a cold disgusted voice.

Sango stood.

"It's your turn."

She was brought to the same piece of wood that now was covered in miroku's blood.

"Miroku, we'll meet again soon. I'm coming" were the last words that managed to escape Sango's mouth. As she too was be headed.

Kagome started to cry remembering that day. Enough that Kouga saw the tears in her eyes.

"Kagome are you ok?" He asked concerened.

"Yes, everything is fine" Kagome said in reply to his question. She wondered if she too will have this fate if her father ever found out what she had done with Inuyasha.
