Disclaimer – I do not own Inuyasha. Of course we all wish we did but Rumiko Takahashi owns him and the rest of the gang. I wonder if I can just by Sesshoumaru??? (Shrugs) On with the story........
Review:
They all knew that a young girl traveled with Lord Sesshoumaru however none of them knew why. Sango whistled for Kirara as she watched Inuyasha run towards the screaming. Kirara finally came bursting through the forest in her big form.
Sango jumped on her back and grabbed Miroku’s hand as Kirara took to the air. Once Miroku was sitting behind Sango they kept their eyes below them on the look out for Inuyasha. When Sango spotted him she told Kirara to keep on his trail. Sango could feel Miroku’s hand on her hips but so far he hadn’t tried to cop a feel. Yet.

>Kagome<
Kagome entered the clearing to see one of Naraku’s puppets holding Rin by her waist in front of him. Her gaze went to Sesshoumaru who was trying to figure a way to retrieve Rin with out hurting her. She knew that Sesshoumaru and Naraku did not know she was there as of yet. Smirking she stealthily moved around behind the puppet.
Using her powers she sped forward and sliced the tentacle that held Rin. She formed her cloud and flew up and away from the puppet. Kagome landed not to far from Sesshoumaru. She paid him no mind as she felt a disturbance in the air. Spinning around she was barely able to put up a barrier as Naraku sent about five tentacles towards them.
“You will pay for that.” Kagome hissed as she closed her right hand.
Her powers formed into a sword since she did not have her sword on her at this moment. She knew that Sesshoumaru’s eyes were on her however her eyes were on the vile creature in front of her. Rushing forward she sliced the offensive tentacles that got in her way. Flipping over his head she brought her sword down.
Naraku’s puppet was cut in half as Kagome landed on her feet behind it. The outside of the illusion vanished and the small wooden puppet was cut perfectly down the center vertically. Opening her hand the sword vanished. Her eyes went up when she felt the others aura’s closing in. Her thoughts were brought back to the other there in the clearing when she heard a high pitch squeal accompanied by her name.
“Kagome-sama!” Rin ran up to Kagome and wrapped her arms around her waist.
Kagome hugged the girl back and smiled. “How are you Rin?” Kagome pulled back and looked down at the young girl.
Rin smiled. “Rin is fine. Lord Sesshoumaru has brought Rin to Kagome.” Rin looked over her shoulder to the demon lord standing behind her.
Kagome looked up with amusement in her eyes. “So he has.”
Just then Inuyasha came running in to the clearing with Tetsaiga drawn. He looked around the clearing and snarled when he saw his half brother. Sheathing the sword Inuyasha made his way over to Kagome. He had noticed the girl, Rin, thus the only reason he sheathed Tetsaiga. They had a temporary truce when he brought the girl. But only then.
“Oi what the hell happened?” Inuyasha looked from Sesshoumaru to Kagome.
His eyes softening when he saw Kagome holding Rin. It made his heart ache to take her and make her his however he wanted to wait til after Naraku was killed. He would not make her his mate only for her to die when he did, if he did. Inuyasha finally realized that Kagome was the only woman for him. Even Kikyo wish him to be human where as Kagome just wanted him to be himself.
“Apparently Naraku wanted to take Rin for some reason.” Kagome offered. “Come on lets head back to the village.” She took Rin's hand and lead her back to the camp. Sango and Miroku nodded and followed behind her. Leaving Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru standing there in the clearing.
“What are you up to?” Inuyasha looked over at his brother.
Sesshoumaru looked over at Inuyasha. “This Sesshoumaru does not know what you mean.” With that said he headed the way to the village. Inuyasha followed closely behind him.
>Kagome & Rin<
“How are you doing Rin?” Kagome asked when they were close to where Kagome had left the basket when she heard Rin scream.
“Rin is doing good.” Rin told her skipping along beside Kagome. “Why did you leave?” She looked up at Kagome with an innocent face.
Kagome smiled down at her. “There were somethings that I needed to handle in my village while Inuyasha finally decided what he wanted.” Kagome smiled at a young man that passed them. Rin watched in awe.
“Everyone here is so nice to Rin.” Rin said in surprise. Normally the humans would run the other way from her.
Kagome frowned as she looked down at the girl beside her. “What is that?”
Rin looked up at Kagome with a disbelieving look. “Rin still travels with Lord Sesshoumaru. Most humans are afraid of him.” Her shoulders slumped down as if weighed down by a burden.
Kagome stopped and bent down in front of the girl. “That shouldn’t matter.” Kagome wiped the tears off Rins’ face. “I have seen Sesshoumaru take care of you as if you were his own. Anyway this village is different because of Inuyasha. When I first released him they were frightened of him until I layed into them for being cruel.” Kagome stood and took the girls hand.
“Really?”
Kagome nodded. “Where I’m from we don’t care how people look or what they do as long as they are nice to the people around them. I don’t see Inuyasha as a hanyou just like I don’t see Sesshoumaru as a demon lord.”
Kagome explained as they walked over to where Kagome had been before she left. Bending over she took the basket and walked further down. Rin followed watching as Kagome picked the herbs that Kaeda needed. Rin helped by holding the basket while Kagome picked the herbs and placed them inside.
Both of the girls were so busy picking herbs that they failed to notice that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru had arrived at the tale end of their conversation. Inuyasha looked over at his brother and almost laughed. Sesshoumaru had a shocked face in place of his stoic mask that he usually wore. Inuyasha nudged him in the side.
“Whats the matter?” Inuyasha smirked when his brother gave him a dirty look.
“The miko does not see me as a demon.” Sesshoumaru stated. “Most ningens are worried about if I will kill them or not. Thus the reason Rin is not welcomed in most villages.”
“Yeah well if Kagome has anything to do with it they will.” Inuyasha supplied his brother as he turned and jumped into a low branch.
Sesshoumaru looked over and up at his brother. “And why is that?” He rose a brow.
Inuyasha snorted. “Kagome is different.” Inuyasha told him with a shrug. “Where we see human, half breed, miko and demon. Kagome only see a person for their ability and personality.” He nodded towards Kagome and Rin.
Sesshoumaru followed his brothers gaze and noticed that some of the village children were coming up to the two of them. Shippou was with the group. Sesshoumaru watched as a female in the group walked up with Shippou to Rin and Kagome.
“Lady Kagome can the girl come and play with us?” The young girl asked looking at Rin.
Kagome smiled and nodded. “That’s fine but be nice. Rin has been traveling with Lord Sesshoumaru and none of the villages really welcome her.” The girl nodded as she took Rin's hand and drug her away from Kagome.
Kagome motioned for Shippou to come over to her. “Watch Rin for me. She isn’t use to villages.” She told Shippou when he was close enough. He nodded then turned and headed back to the game they were playing.
Kagome smiled and continued on about her business. Sesshoumaru was very surprised that the miko was worried but at the same time he realized that she was a motherly onna. He looked over at his brother. Inuyasha was wearing a grin.
“Told ya.”
“Hn.” Sesshoumaru turned and went over and sat down under the tree that Inuyasha was up in.
>Kagome<
Kagome continued with gathering the herbs for Kaeda when she felt Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru behind her. She quickly glanced over her shoulder to see Sesshoumaru sitting underneath the tree that Inuyasha was sitting in. She had to admit that both of the Inus were very good looking. Inuyasha in a rugged way and Sesshoumaru in a suffocated way.
Turning her attention back to her work she thought about how the lord of the west had been acting before she had left. Shaking her head she finished up picking the herbs needed. Once she was done she stood up and brushed off her hakamas and headed over to Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru. Inuyasha jumped out of the tree when she headed their way.
“Ready?” Inuyasha asked as he took the basket from her. Kagome nodded.
“Yeah, Kaeda needed some herbs that she was running out of. I asked if there was anything she needed me to do and she asked if I would pick them.” Kagome shrugged.
“This Sesshoumaru would like to speak to both of you once you have everything done.” Sesshoumaru stood beside Inuyasha’s right side.
Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at his older brother then glanced at Kagome. “What do you want?” Inuyasha growled.
Sesshoumaru ignored Inuyasha and looked at Kagome. “We shall discuss it after you have eaten. I believe the monk is coming to fetch you for dinner.” Sesshoumaru nodded his head behind them.
Kagome and Inuyasha turned and did see Miroku walking up to them. He bowed when he reached the three. Smiling at Kagome he turned to both males.
“Lady Kaeda asked if you would like to join us for dinner, Lord Sesshoumaru?”
“This Sesshoumaru agrees to join if it is ok with your alphas.” Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha first then glanced over at Kagome.
Inuyasha was stunned by the fact that his brother actually called him an alpha of his pack. He wondered what his brother was up to however he had to admit that this Sesshoumaru is a whole lot easier to deal with. Inuyasha looked at Kagome.
Kagome smiled and looked at Sesshoumaru. “As long as Kaeda said it was alright then lets go.” Kagome slipped her arm through Sesshoumaru’s right arm while looping the other through Inuyasha's right. “Lead the way, Miroku.”
Miroku smiled and nodded as he turned and headed back to Kaeda's. He had a funny feeling that something was going on with the three of them. Smiling he decided to keep his observations to himself for the time being.
