Kagome:

I wake up to the morning sun in my face. It's over, we won the battle. Inuyasha sleeps beside me snoring softly. I look around and see that we are in the hut. I rise and walk to the other room. Koga and Sango are sleeping peacefully in each other's embrace. Sesshomaru is asleep but wakes when he hears me walk in. I smile at him and he nods a greeting. Mirouku is asleep snoring, his hand is a regular hand now. Sesshomaru motions me to follow him outside. I follow him and we stop outside. I see Keade's burial place next to her sister's. I feel tears in my eyes as a feel sorrow for the old woman who showed me such kindness. I kneel at her grave and whisper my thanks for her friendship and love. Sesshomaru is quiet while I speak then clears his throat. I turn to him and I see pain in his eyes. "What is it Sesshomaru?" "I have to leave soon Kagome. I have to see my daughter. I want you to know that I am happy for you but I worry about the jewel inside you. There will be demons coming soon and you have to purify the jewel. Be careful what you ask of it. I'm sorry I can't stay until everyone else wakes up but Rin is waiting. Tell everyone I'm glad I joined your side. Kagome you released my hate for humanity, Rin only played a part but you're the one who showed me humans are not weak like I always believed that they were." I feel tears and I hug him like a sister hugs a brother. "Now Sesshomaru don't be a stranger." He smiles at me, "I don't think Rin would allow me not to visit. She is close to you and Inuyasha. I'm leaving now tell everyone goodbye for me." I smile lightly and nod. He starts to fly off and I wave goodbye. "Ok Inuyasha you can come out now." Inuyasha walks out of the hut and yawns and jokes, "For a minute there I was sure he was going to announce that he loves you." I growl at him and run into his arms. He pulls me face toward his and kisses me lightly. "I love you Kagome, my mate." I love you my mate." We both smile and walk make into the hut. Everyone is awake and looks at us as we walk in. "Sesshomaru just left and he wanted me to tell you that he's glad that he joined us and that he'll visit soon with Rin." Mirouku groans, "Great now I'm going to have that little demon climbing all over me." We all laugh at him and his fake grief.

Sango:

I look around and I see happiness. I am so grateful that we survived, well almost all us. I frown as I remember the old woman. She was kind to us all. I watch as Kagome pulls at her clothes from her stomach. "Kagome what's wrong?" I ask her. "Oh nothing really, my clothes are so tight now and I feel so dirty with all this blood and stuff on me." I smile at her and ask, "You want to go to the hot springs? I bet it's a lot better than that freezing river." She smiles and nod. I walk over and grab her arm hugging her. We walk slowly to the hot springs and start to talk. "Sango, do you wish none of this happened?" I think about this and reply, "Yes and no. I wish Shippo and Keade didn't die but I'm glad we both met our mates." "Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Sesshomaru said that I have to purify the jewel soon. I don't know what I'm going to ask from it but I want it out of me soon." "Maybe it should just be destroyed. No demons or anything will ever want it then." She smiles at that and nods. "I know exactly how to but I'll wait til I'm clean and we're back at the hut." We get to the waters edge and strip our clothes off. I can feel blood sticking to my body and I rush into the water. I can smell blood and death on me. I hate it." Kagome tells me as she walks into the water. We quickly wash our hair and bodies of the blood then sit on the rock ledges in the water. Kagome sighs and rubs her belly absently. "What is it Kagome?" "I'm worried about the baby, what if all I did hurt it somehow. I'm so scared to have a baby but excited at the same time." I smile at her, "Your going to get huge." She growls at me and splashes water at me. I laugh and splash her back. "I don't have the energy to fight you Sango. You're probably right though. I'm going to look like a cow." "But for a good reason," I tell her. She nods then leaves the water. "Let's go back I want to get this jewel out of me." I nod then say, "I bet the guys already washed in the river. Want to go check?" She shakes her head, "I have no desire to see Mirouku or Koga naked." I laugh as we head back to the hut.

Inuyasha:

The girls left to go to the hot springs. I look over to Koga and Mirouku and tell then, "I'm going to the river I'll be back soon. I can't stand the smell of this blood." They both nod and follow me, "We'll come with you, you're not the only one." I nod and we quickly go to the river and jump in with our clothes on. Might as well wash our clothes at the same time. As soon as we're clean we head back to the hut. When we walk up completely dry now we see Sango and Kagome are still gone. I walk in and start a cooking fire for food. I wish I knew how to cook. I guess I'll wait for Kagome. I smell her approaching and I wait for her. Kagome walks in her face thoughtful. I stare at her and ask, "What are you thinking about Kagome?" "Oh I think I know exactly what I want to ask the jewel Inuyasha. I want it out of me now." I nod and I kiss her mouth lightly. "I think it would be wise to do it now Kagome." She grabs and squeezes my hand lightly and pulls my outside. "Koga and Sango I want you to stand back with Mirouku. You too Inuyasha, I have a feeling this is going to be intense." They nod and back up a ways. I watch as Kagome close her eyes and use her hands to move the jewel in her body outside through her mouth. I watch the jewel in contempt. All this was really over that little thing. She holds the jewel tightly and whisper so low I cannot even hear her. The jewel brightens and blue energy twirls about Kagome. Breaking everything around her it clears the trees and grass. I watch as she screams and then fall down in exhaustion. The energy fades and I run to her side and see she is ok just sleeping. I pick her up and kiss her mark on her neck. She wakes up slowly and smile at me. She leans her head against my chest and sighs. I walk her into the hut and set her down on her blankets and move her hair out of her face and kiss her forehead lightly. "So Kagome what did you ask for, my mate." "I asked for the jewel to leave here and happiness for everyone I care about." I nod and tell her, "That is good, you did good." She smiles lightly and then close her eyes, "I'm tired can you wake me when breakfast is ready." I smile and kiss her mouth, "Sure Kagome." She falls right to sleep and curl up on her side. Now I really wish I knew how to cook. I walk to the fire where everyone is sitting. "Ah Sango could you cook breakfast? I don't know how to cook and Kagome is sleeping." Sango smiles and start to cook. I sit down and sigh. I think we all are a little tired. I watch as Koga watch Sango with a gleam in his eye. Boy Koga and Sango love each other, a lot. Mirouku looks a little depressed. I think he is jealous of Koga and me. Someday he will find his mate. I stare at my surroundings and see that we all are alive and mostly feeling happiness. I watch as Kagome walks in tiredly and sits next to me. I pick her up a little and settle her on my lap and kiss her neck lightly. She giggles and leans into me. I wrap my arms around her and she pulls my hands to her stomach and settle my claws onto it. She moves my claws over it a little then stops and presses my palm on one spot. I'm confused for a while then I feel a shudder. I tense up then I feel another one. "What is that?" I cry out worriedly. Kagome giggles, "That's the baby silly." I stare at her in shock. The baby is in there and I grin, Feeling it brings the baby into a new light. It's alive and it is part of me and Kagome. Sango walks up and smiles at both of us, "Wish to share." I just smile and Kagome tells her, "The baby is moving for the first time." Sango smiles and walks away knowing that we want some privacy. Life is good. Life is really good for us all.

Koga:

I watch Sango move about and I feel my love for her brightly. I love her so much. Sango smiles and whispers in my ear that Kagome's child has moved for the first time. I smile and watch the couple cuddle each other lovingly. I hope to get Sango pregnant soon. I want to see her stomach rounded with my child. I whisper to Mirouku what Sango told me and he smiles and watch the couple too. I can tell he's a little envious of us and our happiness. "Don't worry Mirouku, you'll find your mate soon. I can feel it." I tell him quietly. He stares at me and nods thoughtfully. "I hope so. I am happy for all of you. I just feel like I'm missing out. I want a wife and children soon. Kagome and Inuyasha's child is going to be strong. So will yours when you have them." I stare at him and ask, "Life is good isn't it?" He nods. "I'm going to leave soon Koga. I think it's time we all find our own place to live but I have a feeling that we all are going to be really close." I nod and think. Life is good, so good.
