As Sango said, she came back with her friends an hour later. They were so tan; they looked like foreign people.

 

“Hey Kagome! This is Rin, Ayami, and Souten. Guys, this is my close friend, Kagome,” Sango introduced.

 

The three girls smiled at her. Kagome smiled back. Sango could feel the awkwardness between her four friends. So she decided to tell Kagome whom she saw at the beach.

 

“Guess who I saw at the beach Ka-go-me,” said Sango.

 

“Who?” asked Kagome in a low tone.

 

Sango smiled and said, “InuYasha.”

 

“What?!”

 

Sango laughed at her friend's reaction. “Yeah, I saw him walking around in his swimming trunks and no shirt on. Too bad you couldn't come cause he has a nice body.”

 

“Are you lying to me? If that's so, I am totally leaving tomorrow morning. I knew this would be a bad idea,” said Kagome.

 

“Actually Kagome, she's not lying. His family owns a beach house and they always come to this beach every summer,” said Ayami.

 

Kagome folded her arms and made a face. Should she or should she not believe them? Then she looked at them and they looked pretty serious.

 

“Where's his beach house?” asked Kagome.

 

“It's way up the seashore. Its not a really long walk, but pretty far enough,” said Rin.

 

Kagome made a pondering face. She didn't know what she would do, so she decided to make a fake yawn.

 

“Well, I am heading to bed, see ya!” she said as she made her voyage to her bedroom.

 

The girls only looked at her. Sango knew she was faking it. She knew her too well to see through her acts. But, she left it alone and went to her friends and talked with them.

 

In her room, Kagome flopped onto her bed. She had a beautiful scene of the ocean. The sun was setting and it reflected onto the azure water. She would love to live by the sea, but she isn't much of a beach babe. She felt more like the mountainside type.

 

`I wonder what they said was true,' she thought.

 

She went to the doors and opened them. She looked to the right and left to see if anyone was still walking on the sand. There were a few people, but not that much when she first arrived there.

 

She shimmied her way out of the door and raced down the beach. Everyone didn't pay any attention to her and she was glad.

 

Rin told her that he lives way up the seashore, but pretty far enough. She started to curse herself for not asking any more questions.

 

When she was far away from the condo, she stopped to take a breather. The sun was down and the night started to creep over.

 

`Maybe I should head back. It's getting dark out and I am far away from the house. Tomorrow I'll get a clear answer of where he lives,' she thought and when she turned around, she hit someone in the chest.

 

Kagome looked up and her eyes nearly popped out. It was the last person she wanted to see. InuYasha.

 

“Are you all right?” he asked.

 

“I'm…uh…duh…um…”Kagome stuttered and blushed.

 

“Hey, aren't you that fat girl that goes to Teeburu High?” he asked.

 

Without giving him an answer, she ran for her life down the beach and into her room. She panted for air when she was in the room. She never knew she could run like that, ever. Then, Kagome realized that she made a fool of herself in front of one of the most popular guys at her school. And she couldn't believe that she somehow bumped into him.

 

A knock on the door and there stood the four girls with scowl on their faces.

 

“Kagome, where were you? We went to get you for dinner and you weren't here. Couldn't you at least tell us where you went? We thought you were kidnapped and raped. We were about to call the FBI!” Sango shouted.

 

Kagome made a `What the hell' look and replied, “Yeah, uh, I went for a walk on the beach and who would want to rape a fat girl is beyond me. Rapists go for children and skinny-ass girls, so, I'm safe.”

 

The girls twisted their mouths and left the room and shut the door a little loud.

 

“At least you could say that you appreciate us being concerned for you Kagome,” said Souten from the other side of the door.

 

Kagome sniffed and went to bed in her clothes. Before she fell asleep, she was wondering what InuYasha would think of reaction when she bumped into him not that long ago.

 

“I'm such a fool, he would never go out with a fat girl like me,” she mumbled and closed her eyes.
