Kagome was woken up by three bodies jumping on her bed.

 

“What's the idea?” she slurred as she was struggling to get her eyes open. It was a mighty struggle, but she won.

 

“We're going shopping!” said Ayami as she plopped onto the bed and with a grin on her face.

 

“So, get ready so we can leave so we can get a parking space,” said Sango and the girls left, leaving Kagome alone in her room.

 

`I don't like where this is headed,' she thought and she got out of bed and got dressed.

 

A half hour later after Kagome did her morning things, the girls piled into Sango's car and they went to the mall.

 

They found a parking spot by a clothing store. Sango, Ayami, Rin, and Souten went to each clothing rack to look at the clothes. Kagome just hung back and watched them rummage through them. She was in the mood for shopping a little, but just seeing them looking through very small sizes of pants made her feel like an outcast.

 

Rin saw Kagome with a sad expression on her face. She walked towards the sullen girl and told her to come join them. Kagome shook her head. Rin frowned and dragged her to a rack of shirts.

 

Rin saw a red tube top and took it off the rack. Then, they went to a rack of pants and ordered Kagome to pick one. Kagome said no, but the look Rin was giving her told her to do it or she'll get yelled at, so she chose a pair of black jeans.

 

Souten pushed her into a fitting room. All the girls waited for her outside the room, anxious to see what their friend would look like in the clothes.

 

In the fitting room, Kagome just stood there. She really didn't want to try them on and couldn't believe that Rin grabbed a tube top for her. She always told herself that she would not be caught dead in that article of clothing. Yet, here she was, holding it.

 

“Come on Kagome, before we turn to dust!” said Souten. Kagome sighed.

 

Kagome took off her shirt and put the tube top on. Then she took off her pants and put on the black jeans. She looked herself in the mirror. She had many mixed emotions of what she saw in the mirror.

 

“Did you put them on yet?” asked Sango.

 

She didn't get a reply right away until Kagome answered, “Yes.”

 

“Can we look?” questioned Ayami.

 

There was an even longer silence until Kagome replied, “No.”

 

“Why?” the three girls asked at once.

 

“I don't like it,” replied the girl in the fitting room.

 

“Tough shit cause we are coming in!” warned Souten as she and the girls walked into the room.

 

The girls' mouths dropped. The clothes she was wearing was gorgeous on her. It made her fit around her figure.

 

“Kagome, it looks great on you,” complemented Rin.

 

“Yeah right, you're just saying that to be nice. I bet a supermodel would like nicer in this,” said Kagome.

 

“Nonsense, can't you just take a complement?” snapped Souten.

 

At that, Kagome's eyes watered and shoved the girls out of the room.

 

“What did I say?” asked Souten.

 

“All the complements she got were the snotty remarks the people at school gave her. Only her family and myself give her complements. She never believes what anyone tells her cause she thinks they're lying,” answered Sango, “It'll be a long time to see if she thinks that you three are truly her friends.”

 

No one said anything after that. When Kagome walked out, she went straight out the door. No one went after her since they knew she wanted to be alone and anyways she had a cell phone with her in case they needed to reach her.

 

Kagome walked around, looking for a bookstore since she loved to read. It made her think of places that she knew never existed, yet she wished they were real.

 

When she saw one, she walked right in. Her eyes were widened. She never saw so many books before. Where could she begin?

 

She looked around. There were many genres and she looked for one in particular. She wanted to get a biography of one of Japan's forgotten princesses, Princess Kazunomiya.

 

She went to a desk so someone can help her look for it since the place was so big. She walked up to it and cleared her throat so she can catch the person's attention.

 

The person took notice and when the person turned around, Kagome nearly hit the floor. It was InuYasha.

 

“May I help you? Hey, aren't you that girl that walked into me last night and the girl that foes to Teeburu High School?” he asked.

 

Kagome's mouth twisted. “Yes and yes. Look, I need help looking for a book about Princess Kazunomiya. Can you please help me look for one?”

 

“Sure, that's what I am here for, follow me,” he instructed and Kagome did so.

 

While they were going to the non-fiction, biography section, in her mind Kagome was thinking, `Oh my god, I can't believe he works here! I can't believe he works here. Why me? Are you gods pulling some prank on me?'

 

“Here we are, there are many books about her, so take your time,” he said and left.

 

When he was out of view, Kagome closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. When she opened them, she started to look through many books about the princess.

 

Many minutes past and she finally found one. She walked up to the desk and bought it. She walked out of the building; she took out her phone and called Sango. She told her where she was and asked Sango where she was. When Kagome found out where she was, she ventured out to join her and her friends. Then, they went to Sango's car and drove home.

 

Once they arrived home, Kagome went straight towards the bathroom. After she was done, she went to her room. She saw a bag on her bed and opened it. It was the clothes she tried on. She smiled. She knew it was from Sango, Souten, Rin, and Ayami.

 

Then, she walked outside with a chair and her book. She sat near the edge of the sand and started to read.

 

 

Note: There was a princess in Japan named Kazunomiya. She lived from 1846-1877. She was only thirty-one years old. I will add some of her history later in the story.
