A soft breeze and the sun's rays beating down at her woke Kagome up. She opened her eyes.

 

`Damn, I must have fallen asleep when I was reading. Hmm, I wonder why InuYasha never said anything smart to me. Maybe it was because he was working and if he said anything like that he would get fired. I better get in,' she thought. She stood up and walked into her room carrying her book and leaving the chair behind.

 

She went to the bathroom and took a shower. The heat of the water beating down at her skin made her smell the salt from the ocean air. She gagged; it was horrible. She grabbed a bar of soap and started to scrub on her skin so she could smell like rosemary.

 

She lathered the shampoo and conditioner into her hair and rinsed it off. Then she shaved her legs and once she turned the water off, she put aftershave gel on her legs. She wrapped a towel around her body and then around her hair.

 

Kagome went out of the bathroom and she realized that none of her friends were inside. She knew that they must be at the beach tanning and boy watching.

 

The girl walked into her bedroom and stared at the bag that was still on her bed. She remembered the comments she was given. She walked towards the bed, picked the bag up, and threw it into her closet. She didn't want to wear them.

 

She grabbed a pair of white capris with a black t-shirt and white heelless sneakers. She went back to the bathroom and blow-dried her hair, brushed her teeth, and washed her face.

 

Kagome grabbed her book, sun block, and went outside. She picked up her chair and ventured out to the beach. She felt like reading outside at the beach instead of reading near her sanctuary, her room.

 

She walked slowly with her head down, not wanting to make an eye contact with anyone. Every once in awhile, she would look up, trying to find Sango and her friends.

 

`Mind as well have company, as long they don't pressure me to do anything,' she thought. She finally spotted them and rushed over.

 

Ayami was the first one to see her. “Kagome! I am surprised to see you here.”

 

The other three girls turned their heads with a surprised look on their faces. Kagome set up her chair, lathered on her sun block, and opened her book to start reading.

 

“Don't you have your bathing suit on?” asked Souten.

 

“Nope,” was the reply.

 

No one said anything after that. The four girls laid on their towels, soaking up the sun as the girl sitting in her chair, reading her book. It was peaceful and so far everything was safe. Too bad it was short-lived.

 

All the girls that were lying on the towels were on their bellies. A hand caressed on each of their butts swiftly and they all woke up shrieking. When they looked up, they saw a man in eggplant trunks was grinning. His companions were holding and shaking their heads.

 

“You pervert!” the four girls screamed and slapped Miroku full force on the face, which he literally fell back.

 

Kagome looked up to see what the commotion was since she was engrossed in her book. She almost did what Miroku did, falling back.

 

`Of all the luck,' she grimaced. It was the five popular guys at Teeburu High: InuYasha, Sesshomaru, Koga, Miroku, and Shippo.

 

“What are you doing here?” hissed Sango as she was staring at the fallen man.

 

“My love, my dear InuYasha invited us to his beach house. We just happened to be walking when I laid my eyes on your beautiful figure and could not contain myself,” he explained.

 

At the word `beautiful figure' Kagome cringed. No man would ever say that to her. She heaved a sigh and stood up.

 

“Oh, hello Kagome is everything all right?” asked Miroku.

 

Kagome smiled a little and nodded.

 

“And who are these lovely ladies?” he asked.

 

“These are my friends: Rin, Souten, and Ayami,” Sango introduced.

 

“Ah, hello ladies, would you all like to bear my child?” Miroku asked, taking their hands.

 

The girls were speechless and a vein was popping out of Sango's forehead. Miroku received a blow to the head by Koga.

 

“Stop being a pervert!” he yelled and looked at the redheaded girl, Ayami. She blushed under his gaze.

 

“My name is Koga, I am enchanted to meet you,” he said. Ayami smiled and took his hand.

 

“My name is Shippo, would you care for a walk?” he asked Souten. Souten made a cocky smile and accepted his offer.

 

“My name is Rin, would you like to get an ice-cream with me?” she asked Sesshomaru. He said nothing except nodded and walked with her.

 

Which left Sango, Miroku, InuYasha, and Kagome. Miroku offered to swim with her in the ocean and she accepted, but warned him that if he tried to pull anything, she will drown him. Miroku promised, but no one believed him, but Sango still went with him.

 

That left InuYasha and Kagome alone; Kagome felt very uncomfortable. She turned to her chair, picked it up, and headed off to her room.

 

“Hey, where are you going?” shouted InuYasha.

 

Kagome kept on walking. She was stopped when he ran after her.

 

“I asked you a question wench,” he said.

 

She whipped around and snapped, “My name is Kagome, not wench. I think it'll be easy to remember that name since I am the only fat girl on this beach and at school.”

 

`I can't believe I said that him,' she thought. She wiggled herself free from his grasp and continued her walk to her room. To her surprise, he was following her.

 

“How is that book…Kagome,” he asked.

 

`He said my name! He said my name!' she squealed in her head. “The book is good,” she replied smoothly.

 

`I can't believe he is talking to me, the most popular guy in school. Is he pulling something? Why would he talk to me, someone so inferior?' she asked herself.

 

When she arrived at the door to her room, InuYasha asked, “Would you and your friends care to have dinner out with me and my friends? It seems to me that they all hit off really well, somehow.”

 

`Is that a date?' she asked herself. She never had been on a date. “Um, I guess. I don't think they'll mind.”

 

“Cool, we'll pick you up at seven,” he said and walked away.

 

Kagome was stunned. “What just happened?”

 

She opened the door and decided to tell her friends that they'll be eating out with the five guys from Teeburu High.
