Kagome then found herself at the school's track.

 

`I remember this place,' she thought. She started walking on the gray cement.

 

Before her, she saw the scene when Kikyo pushed her the second time. She saw herself falling slowly and hitting the ground on the right side of her head. Kagome could see that she was knocked out instantly.

 

Not a few seconds later, Kagome could see blood flowing like a trickle stream from her head.

 

Kagome walked quickly to see more. She could see panic in Kikyo and Kagura's eyes, but Onigumo and Naraku's eyes held no emotion.

 

Kagome heard a scream and saw that it came from Kikyo's mouth. Everyone on the track turned his or her heads and saw what happened. The gym teacher ran with great speed and ordered a student to call for an ambulance.

 

Kagome felt something wet on the right side of her head. She lifted a hand and touched it and when she pulled it away, she saw that it was gray blood. She closed her eyes.

 

She opened them again and saw that she was in the front of her locker.

 

`Why am I doing here?' she asked herself.

 

Kagome heard footsteps behind her. She turned around and saw that it was Kikyo, Yura, and Kagura.

 

“Why must you be everywhere I am?” asked Kagome. “Why can't you just leave me alone?”

 

“You are not perfect, you have to be faultless in order for us to like you,” said Yura.

 

The three girls started to circle around Kagome like hyenas circling their prey before attack.

 

“What must I do to be perfect?” asked Kagome.

 

“You must lose this,” said Kagura from behind, grabbing Kagome's stomach.

 

“I can't, please,” cried Kagome, trying to wretch herself free from Kagura's grasp.

 

Kikyo walked in front of her and dragged her fingertips under Kagome's arms. “Oh, we can't just let it go with that. We must do something first. Bring you eternal sleep.”

InuYasha was alone in the room. Sango and Miroku stayed for a while, trying to persuade InuYasha to go home, take a shower, and eat decent food, but InuYasha wouldn't.

 

He hesitantly went to touch Kagome's hand. It was cool. Was that a good thing?

 

Then, he saw faint marks under her arms. He turned the arm over. With a burrowed look on his face, he traced his fingertips on the marks and felt that they were a little rough. He realized that she must have cut herself sometime. It was taking a while to heal over. He wondered if anyone else noticed.

 

“Kagome, what were you doing to yourself? What's going on in that head of yours?” he asked placing a hand on her head.

 

A nurse came in with fresh blankets. When she saw that he was still there, she sighed. “Sir, go home, you have been here for two days. You can come back tomorrow.”

 

InuYasha twisted his mouth. “Will you call me if anything happens?”

 

The nurse smiled. “Of course.”

 

InuYasha took one last look of Kagome, stood up, and walked out the room. He walked out of the hospital and went to his car.

 

He decided to go by Kagome's home. He found out where she lived from Sango. He wanted to get something for Kagome, like a stuffed animal to keep her company when he couldn't be there…like now.

 

InuYasha parked at the bottom of the shrine steps. He stepped out and walked up the stairs. He went to the front door and rang the doorbell. InuYasha waited a while and then the door opened.

 

A boy with mousy brown hair answered the door. “Who are you?”

 

“I'm InuYasha. I, uh, came to get something for Kagome, who are you?”

 

“I'm Kagome's little brother, Souta. How is she? My mom and Grandpa won't let me see her,” said Souta.

 

InuYasha felt bad for him. He managed a smile. “You're sister is doing, OK. I just came over to bring something for her, does she have any stuffed animals?”

 

Souta nodded and let him come in. He told him where her room was.

 

InuYasha went up the staircase and opened the door to Kagome's room. What he saw made him want to fall on his face. There were posters of perfect models and people with perfect bodies.

 

“Kagome, you are a mystery that needs to be solved,” he mumbled.

 

He spotted a white stuffed dog sitting on her bed. He went over to the bed and picked it up. Before he left her room, he took one last look. InuYasha saw one poster of a body that was toned with Kagome's head. It finally clicked in his slow brain.

 

`Kagome, why are you feeling like this?' he asked and closed the bedroom behind him as he exited out of her room.

 

He said good-bye to Souta and went back to his car.

 

InuYasha drove home. He was thinking over everything that happened previously and beyond.

 

He arrived home. He got out of the car, with the stuffed dog. His parents were out of town and Sesshomaru went out to look at a college, so he was pretty much home alone.

 

InuYasha went to his bedroom and placed the stuffed animal on his bed. He went back to the bathroom that was connected to his bedroom. He stripped off his clothing and turned on the faucet. When the water was warm enough for him, he started the shower.

 

While he was cleaning himself, he was clearing his mind. He didn't want to think about a lot of things. He just needed to not feel stressed out.

 

When he was finished, he dried himself and pulled back his hair. He went to his bed, only in boxers, and climbed in. He pulled the stuffed dog to himself and went to sleep.
