Kagome was walking down a rock path. Her surroundings were pitch black. Along the pathway, she would see mirrors. It seemed that they were playing memories, her memories.

 

In one mirror, it showed her father when he was still alive. He came home from work one night. Her nine year old self ran to him and he knelt down when she arrived. He smiled and presented her a white stuffed dog. She gleamed with happiness and hugged him around his neck.

 

In another mirror, she was sitting on his lap while they were watching Souta playing with his toys.

 

“You are my precious angel Kagome, I love you my little princess,” he said.

 

Tears started to form in Kagome's eyes as she was walking on. How come they were doing this to her?

 

Then it showed when they found out that her father had a brain tumor and it already spread. The news devastated her mother, but Kagome couldn't understand, she was so young.

 

Then the next mirror showed the funeral. Everyone left, leaving only her, her mother, and Souta. A man opened the casket, revealing a deceased man. His face was white, not showing warm colors.

 

Then it showed him being lowered into the ground and people started shoveling dirt on top of it. That's when reality hit her; he was not coming back…ever.

 

The next scene showed when her three friends departed from her in the fourth grade, leaving Sango staying by her side.

 

“I thought friends stick to each other Sango, why are they doing this to me? Why are they joining everybody else?” she asked Sango.

 

“Cause they're asses and have nothing else better to do with their lives. They probably have low self-esteem themselves,” said Sango. Kagome gasped when she heard her say a cuss word.

 

As Kagome walked down the path of reminiscence mirrors, teardrops started to fall. Is there something she is supposed to remember or to be on familiar terms with?

 

At long last, a mirror was showing her in the junior year. That's when she started to like InuYasha. Every chance she got; she would look at him. Sure he was handsome and a little quiet, but she could see that he was a nice guy, in his own special way.

 

Then another mirror showed her beach vacation. They were at the restaurant when the big commotion broke out. After she saw herself leave, she could see regret in his eyes.

 

`InuYasha, do you really care that much about me?' she questioned herself.

 

Then she walked down the path more.

InuYasha was lying back in his chair, observing Kagome's face. He heard a knock on the window and saw that it was Koga. He motioned his friend to come in.

 

When Koga came in, he asked, “Uh, how is Kagome doing?”

 

InuYasha sighed. “I really have no idea, I just hope she will come out of it soon.”

 

“Yeah, um, InuYasha, if I tell you something, you promise not to hurt me?” asked Koga.

 

InuYasha gave him a skeptical look. “Sure, I guess, what do you have to tell me?”

 

“Well, Kagome and I had gym class and I wasn't there when Kagome was…um, what's the word…hurt. I was at the office when it happened. Shit! If I was there and my mother didn't call me, this fucking position wouldn't have happened. I could have helped her!” Koga shouted.

 

InuYasha didn't say anything. “Koga. It isn't your fault, you were at the office, and it couldn't be helped. All I am curious about is how she was put into this place.”

 

“I heard that Kikyo shoved her,” Koga admitted.

 

“What?”

 

“I said-”

 

“I heard you the first time!”

 

“Why are you being so defensive? Do you like her or something?”

 

InuYasha blushed. “I-I-I-I never said that!”

 

Koga smiled slyly. “You stammered and you're blushing!”

 

“Fine, I do.”

 

“Why?”

 

InuYasha thought about it for a minute or so. “I guess it's because she has courage to always come back to school after all the hardship she has been put under the other day. You know, the pranks and crap. She is really beautiful. I have seen her laugh and smile. I don't care that she's overweight; it doesn't matter to me. The way I see it, I love her personality.”

 

“Aw, InuYasha is in love!” teased Koga. InuYasha blushed again.

 

A few minutes later, Koga left. He had a date with Ayami.

 

So, InuYasha was alone, again, with Kagome.

 

All of a sudden, his cell phone rang. He looked at the called ID and saw that it was her mother.

 

“Hello Ms. Higurashi,” said InuYasha.

 

“Hello InuYasha, how is my daughter?” she asked.

 

“She's doing all right,” he answered.

 

“OK, well, I have to get back to work or my boss will catch me and he'll fire me,” Ms. Higurashi said.

 

“Ms. Higurashi, why can't I help pay the bill?” he questioned.

 

“Oh no InuYasha, I can't do that. It's your money and you should spend it on yourself, not on us,” she scolded.

 

“I don't mind doing it, at all,” he said.

 

“Enough InuYasha, good-bye,” and she hung up.

 

InuYasha sighed in irritation. Woman. Can't accept help when it's being offered on a golden platter. Well, he's going to help pay the bill, whether she likes it or not.

 

“Damn, I can't believe that bitch did this to you, but did she really? Koga did say that he heard it, but in order it to be actually true, you have to wake up Kagome, damnit!”

 

InuYasha took a deep breath and leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. Within a second, he fell into a deep sleep.
