“Out of the way!” Kikyo yelled and pushed me into a locker. I quickly stood up and Sango pulled me back. “Aww what's wrong? Afraid to let your friend be punched?”
“Kikyo, you touch me, I'll put your lights out.” I turned around and started changing for gym class.
“I have a bad feeling about this year Kagome. You're gonna fight her I can tell.” I looked over at her while I put my hair in a ponytail.
“So be it. We've put up with it too long. Someone's gotta teach her a lesson.” I guess I could be the one to do it. Hopefully. I've never gotten into a fight before, not a fist fight at least.
“C'mon girls! Time to start class!” The gym teacher yelled into the locker rooms. Sango and I sat next to each other while they led stretches. Then we headed outside to the field to play a simple game of kickball. I saw Inuyasha talking to Miroku ahead of us. I saw him turn back and I was about to wave until he gave me the dirtiest look.
That's when I saw him looking at Kikyo approaching him. He turned his head and completely ignored her. I smiled. `In your face Kikyo.'
“Girls are going to kick first. So guys pick a spot and girls get lined up.”
I watched as Kikyo and her friends tried to get in the back of the line. I saw Inuyasha on third base and I decided to go first. Sango fell in behind me and all the other girls were, being girls and not lining up.
“Great hustle Kagome and Sango. Everyone else, get moving!” Our coach yelled.
I'm not much of a sports person, but I try to have fun. I watched the pitcher as he rolled the ball too me. The first one went too far out. The catcher threw it back and he readied himself. He rolled a perfect pitch. I kicked it and it went flying to my left. I started running and then I heard a `slap'. I looked over while I was running to second at what the slap was. Inuyasha had a big red spot on the side of his face. I ran faster to get to him and stopped on the base.
“Oh my God Inuyasha I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to I really didn't. Are you okay? Does it hurt? Do you-.“ I was panicking and I stepped towards him to see his face better.
“Kagome. I'm fine. Now get back on the base before you get out.” He smiled at me.
“I'm so sorry. I'll make it up to you.” `Perfect timing girl. Ask him about a movie night.' “Hey I know. Would you like to have a mo-“ I was interrupted by Sango yelling for me to run.
I ran to home, got us a point and Sango got to home. We cheered ourselves and high fived. After us, we got no points. Kikyo's group refused to play. When we got our three outs the boys kicked. We put Kikyo and her friends in the back field hoping none of the kicks went that far.
When a boy named Koga came up to kick he did make it back field. I looked back and saw Kikyo just staring at the ball. I huffed and ran all the way back to her and picked up the ball. As I was about to run back she tripped me, I lost the ball and another boy who was on 3rd got home and so did Koga. I looked up at Kikyo with a death glare.
“What the hell was that for?” I got up and stood in front of her.
She looked at me like she had no idea what was going on. “Oops?”
“Oops my ass! You purposely tripped me. For no reason. You're just begging for it aren't you Kikyo?”
“The only thing I'm begging for is for you to fix your makeup. It's very unattractive when it's running. Or are you crying?” She laughed in my face and turned away.
“Girls break it up. Kikyo go to the office. Are you okay Kagome? Kikyo, if you act this way this year, unlike your other coaches, I will fail you. All right let's head in.”
I headed over to Sango. “Sango, is my makeup really running?” She laughed at me and wiped under my eyes.
“Not anymore. Didn't you bring your makeup bag?” She hooked my arm as we walked back into the gym. “So what held you up on third base?”
“I was trying to ask him for movie night. Remember?” I laughed as I put my clothes on.
“Oh and what'd he say? I bet it was yes.” She just started to ramble on how she was gonna ask Miroku.
“I didn't get the chance. Unless I wanted you to run me over.” I sighed. “I'll ask him at lunch. If he sits with us.”
“Then let's go ask him to!”
~*~
“Thanks for letting us sit with you Sango. We are still awaiting three more faces. Where is Kagome anyway, I was under the impression you two were glued.”
“Why do you want to know?” Inuyasha asked.
“No need to be jealous. Just wondering who will accompany you my friend.”
Inuyasha just huffed and started eating. His ears perked up when Kagome was approaching.
“Sorry. There was a block in the halls. I saw an amazing couple. A very strange, completely opposite couple. Do you have a brother Inuyasha?”
“Unfortunately. He's gonna be eating with us.”
I was about to ask Inuyasha about the movie night until I heard people whispering. I looked up and noticed what they were whispering about. I saw a very bright, short, hyperactive girl skipping to our table. Then behind her, I saw Inuyasha's brother, stood straight, expressionless, and very poised. He held the chair out his girlfriend. Then he took a seat next to her.
“Hello everyone! I'm Rin. Sesshy's girlie-friend. Who all might you be?” She was very nice and open. I couldn't speak I was so surprised.
“Actually my name is Sesshomaru.”
“Don't listen to him. Well Inuyasha introduce us to your new friends. I can understand Miroku not being able to talk when his eyes are plastered on this pretty lady next to me.”
“Well the `pretty lady' next to you and Miroku is Sango. And next to me is Kagome.”
“Hello Rin. Hello Sesshomaru. How do you guys like it here so far?”
“Sesshy is kinda uncomfortable. He can feel the people staring. I don't really mind it though. Let them stare.”
“That's one way to put it. They're just jealous Rin.” Sango told her finishing up her juice.
“Yeah well. We're on our way to the office. We don't have to stay all day thankfully. I'll see you guys tomorrow!” They walked away and more whispers started.
“So Inuyasha you coming?” My eyes went wide.
“Sango!” I shrank in my seat.
“Coming where?” He looked at Sango's pressing smile and looked at my beet red face.
“To my movie night! Didn't Kagome invite you?” She looked at me. “Oh, you chickened out didn't you?”
“Of course I did!” Someone shoot me.
“Well if it's all right with Kagome I'll come. Is it okay?”
I could only nod and squeak, “Yes.”
“Awesome! Well we'll have it Friday night then. This is gonna be so much fun! You gonna stay the night Kagome?”
“Don't I always?”
“Awesome.”
“Remember, my ice cream.”
The bell rang signaling for the last class.
“Ugh!” I slammed my head on the table.
“What's wrong with Kagome?” Inuyasha asked.
“She hates math.”
He laughed. “But it's so simple.”
“We agree to hate each other. I struggle through math.” I whined.
“Well you have yourself a tutor.”
I smiled. “You're not in my math class though.”
“You can always come over.”
“Thanks. Let's go Sango before we're late.”
“Right! Into the hell pit called math!”
As we ran off we turned and waved at Inuyasha and Miroku.
“Hook line and sinker Kagome. We've got ourselves some boyfriends.”
“Nah, I think you do. I have a new friend though.”
“Yeah right. Let's go ruin our good moods in math.”
I just smiled. `Nothing could ruin my mood, not even math.'
AN: Here's another. I was going to try to do two chapters this morning. But I have to go to work. I'll get some ideas at work and come home and type away. Thanks for reading!
