Thank you so much for the reviews. All though I got only two it really encouraged me to write more. Especially when one was from an experienced writer themselves!
I was trying to make it as original as possible. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Well on with the story, I hope this chapter doesn't bore you too much.
Great Thnx to those who reviewed: Horaku and Inulover1253!!!!

Alright…here's the next chapter.
Chapter 2:
It was a beautiful Monday morning. The sun was shining brightly over head, the birds chirping their melodies, and the occasional morning breeze would fill anyone in the sourest mood with joy. Too bad Kagome Higurashi wasn't just anyone.
`I really shouldn't have drunk all that coffee.' Sighing heavily she made her way to school. After the `incident' that happened that morning, her brain refused any ounce of sleep. So to say she was tired was an understatement. She had been up since 7 A.M…yesterday. Exhausted but alert as ever she managed her way to school, surprisingly on time. She walked through the halls of her over crowded school, completely ignoring the looks that were getting tossed her way. Growling inwardly she managed to make it out to the field behind her school where all the upper classmen hung out.
Freshmen refused to go there, for there was an unwritten rule that only upperclassmen were allowed. It's been like that ever since the school opened 50 years ago. The raven haired beauty, however, when she was a freshman was one of the only, in fact the only, who ever crossed that line. The only reason why she never got the treatment was because of her natural looks, smarts and fun personality. The seniors saw her as one of the coolest freshman, because they noticed that she didn't act like the rest of them. Freshmen were known to be young, careless, and self centered; thinking that they owned the goddamn place just because they were in High School now. The way they acted made the seniors feel disrespected. So they scoffed at the way they always tried to impress them with their bad attitudes thinking that makes them look cool. In all honesty, it made them look like idiots.
Well back to the present. She carefully made her way to the tree where all her friends hung out. She already almost tripped twice, she wasn't about to go for a third. `I think I should have just gone to class early…maybe then I would have been able to get some sleep.' Taking in a deep breath, she kept walking. Finally, making it without a scratch she looked up to see one of her closest friends. Seeing the look on her friend's face from happy to concern, she immediately regretted her decision.
“Kagome Higurashi! What the hell happened to you?!” exclaimed Sango in a motherly tone.
Sango was Kagome's best friend since the fourth grade. Even when they were separated for their first two years of high school, they still maintained a close relationship. In their junior year, they were reunited and were inseparable ever since. She looked incredible today. Her tight black tank with pink letters saying on the front, `All I Want Is Peace And Quiet' and on the back `Give Me A Piece and I'll Be Quiet' and her low-rider, dark blue jeans left little to the imagination. To top it all off, she wore her pink and black K-Swiss shoes with her hair up in her trademark high ponytail. No wonder Miroku worshipped the ground she walked on and wanted her to bare his children. Kagome giggled inwardly.
“And on another note, what are you wearing?” She asked, staring at her state of dress.
Looking down at her state of attire, she looked slightly embarrassed. She wore a baggy black t-shirt that reached just above her knees, with the letters `AKDMKS' in green. Along with it she wore her brother's dark blue jeans that were slightly too big for her, even if he was younger than her. Completing the look, her feet were clearly shown as she wore her favorite black slippers. (AN: or flip flops, sandals, etc.) Looking at her friend, she smiled sheepishly.
“What? I felt like being comfortable today, that's all.” She defended.
“Kagome, that's not the only thing. What happened to you? You look like you've been
hit by a truck then, ran over by a train. Not to mention your bloodshot eyes…have you been smoking crack again?”
“What?! No! Sango, of all people, you should know I don't do drugs!” Shock clearly in her voice.
“Well…tell me what happened.” Sango didn't ask, she demanded.
Kagome relayed all the events to her, from 7 A.M. yesterday to her waking hour to get to school. Although, carefully leaving out the tiny detail of the strange boy and the kiss. Her furious blushing after that thought automatically captured the attention of her best friend…and the interrogation began.
“It wasn't just staying up late was it? Or was it something that made you stay up that late, hmmm? Don't lie to me, Kagome Higurashi. You know very well this girl is very experienced in these things. Now spill! Tell me all the details, and who's the lucky guy? Do I know him? How long have you been with him? I can't believe….”
She was instantly cut off by the fuming 17 year old girl screaming, “I SWEAR TO YOU, SANGO, YOU SAY ONE MORE WORD!!!” Looking at Sango, for the first time she saw her scared. Breathing in much needed air the aura around her that suddenly flared calmed down and she spoke softly, “Sorry San, I didn't mean it to come out that way it's just that I got…overwhelmed.”
“That's okay, Kags. I shouldn't have interrogated you like that. But now I'm curious, who is he? I know it's a boy, so you better stop denying it and tell me the truth.”
“Okay, okay. Yes, it was a boy…” she heard her friend inhale and quickly said, “but! I don't know his name.”
Crestfallen, she asked, “So? What happened?”
“Well…we, uh, we….kissed.” She replied blushing. Before her friend could say anything she pleaded, “Can we please drop the subject now?”
Being slightly disappointed, but respecting her friend's request she remained silent. Shortly after, the bell for first period rang and they both looked at each other. Kagome was so caught up in talking to Sango that she forgot to greet all her other friends, which she normally does. Sighing, she and Sango walked the short distance to their first periods. Their classrooms were right next to each other, at least being close to each other but not too close. You tend to get really bored of seeing your best friend in all of your classes. Not saying she disliked her best friend in anyway, but it was the simple truth.
As they walked silently, Kagome couldn't help but wonder what happened to that silver haired…. `Whatever he was'.
********
After giving that report, there was no way in hell he was going to school today. He could care less about this school but unfortunately he was placed there undercover. His boss, or his brother he should say, was one of the most feared gang leaders in the city…let alone the country. He wanted him there because of this rumor that the Shikon No Tama still existed. Unlike the other power hungry assholes out there, his brother wanted to protect it. It was sensible of him to send his half brother of all people, as the jewel's protector. Just for the fact that he had Tetsusaiga. A powerful demon sword, an inheritance from his father that could kill 100 lives in one swipe. His brother, however, had a sword that held the same ability except that it brought the dead back to life. Creepy, yes, but what could he say, it matched his brother perfectly.
As he walked into his apartment, his mind began to wonder back to that girl. He had to admit she was very attractive. He pictured her wet midnight locks, framing her flawless face. Her towel was wrapped tightly around her body, only revealing her long creamy legs. He let out a low groan. `She would look so much better without it.' He was sure of that. What really caught his attention, though, were her sapphire eyes. How they widened slightly when he pinned her against the wall. The feel of her curves and soft skin against his body was too much. So when he saw her ready to scream, he readily covered her mouth with his own. `She was so damn sweet, too.' Groaning once more, this time in discomfort of the slight bulge in his now very tight pants, he decided to take care of his little problem.

School let out and hundreds of relieved students filed out of its open doors.
From the middle of the crowd some random student yelled, “THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!” Kagome stood there at the front gates grinning like an idiot and shaking her head. Who other than…“Souta!”, would say such a thing. Said boy ran over to her and couldn't help the smirk that crossed his face as a shocked group of girls recovering from the sudden outburst gave him interested looks.
Souta Higurashi. Kagome's younger brother, a.k.a. `spawn of the devil'. From an annoying little brat, he matured into a much more sophisticated, young man. Even though, his good looks sometimes got the best of him. He was dressed up today with his hair spiked, a white collared shirt, a pair of black slacks, white DC Tag skate shoes, and was that a…bursting out laughing, Souta gave his sister a questioning look.
“Souta! Is that a tie?” She burst into fits of laughter again. Never in her life has she seen her younger brother wear a tie, even to her aunt's wedding. Now that was another story to tell.
“Ha ha…very funny, are you done now?” A hint of a smile could be seen on his features. “Besides, I dressed up for the ladies not for my self-pleasure….kinda.”
Great, now he was sounding like Miroku. “That pervert.” She thought smiling. Inhaling a deep breath she looked up at her sibling. Yes, that's right, looked up. Even if he was younger than her by a year and a half, she only managed to come up to his nose. `In fact, that boy is taller than him, at least by a foot. Wow. That means he's at least 5'10, 5'11…' She was startled out of her thoughts when her brother nudged her.
“Hey, did you hear what I said?” he questioned suspiciously. His sister always was attentive. `What has gotten her so preoccupied?'
“Sorry Souta, I didn't.” She smiled sheepishly. Oblivious to the questioning gaze her brother directed her way.
“I said…” he emphasized, “that you should be one to talk. Why are you dressed like that, let alone wearing MY jeans?”
Watching his sister's face quickly change from delighted laughter to blushing embarrassment; he decided to save her the even more embarrassment of explaining herself.
“Whatever, you always were the weirder child.” He replied, grinning.
“Hey I resent that!”
Gaining back his seriousness, he looked his sister over once more. He noticed something was missing but he couldn't place it. Then it clicked in his head.
“Kags, where's the book I brought for you?” Ever since he got her that book two weeks ago she couldn't put it down.
“Oh, I think I left it at home. I'm half-way done! It's getting really good. Who knew that Mika had strong feelings for her demon protector…they hadn't mentioned what kind of demon he was yet, though.” She said thoughtfully as she looked up at the grey sky, noticing how the wind suddenly picked up. She let her eyes drift close and just let herself feel the breeze wrap itself around her.
Souta watched his sister look in total bliss. Standing there, not having a care in the world. It was amazing how she looked so free even when it was quite the opposite. Everyone in their neighborhood knew how the Higurashi's viewed the on-going discrimination between humans and demons. And for that, they were constantly pressured by both sides, the human and demon population.
Kagome's huge heart would never think twice about helping someone in need. She was aware she had miko powers but she refused to flaunt them. She didn't even have full control of them, yet.
One stormy night, one of their few demon neighbors was attacked. The Kinjo's instantly came to the Higurashi's door, seeking aid. Their youngest son Shippo Kinjo, one of Souta's best friends, came in carrying in his unconscious mother. At the time, his older brother, Ichiro and his father were fending off the demons. His father died in the battle and his brother barely escaping. Taking them in was one of the biggest mistakes the Higurashi's ever made but never regretted.
Kagome instantly helped the Kinjo's in their time of need. They refused to say who attacked them, fearing that involving the Higurashi's would endanger them. The Kinjo's mother, however, couldn't take the death of her mate. She soon followed after not a couple of days later. The Kitsune brothers moved after that, and were never heard or seen of again. It has been 3 years since that happened.
Snapping out of his daze, he returned his attention back to his sister. She opened her eyes to look directly at him. Her eyes were a lighter blue now, filled with happiness and hope. How could she look at everyday as a hopeful beginning? Knowing full well of what society thought of her. How could someone think so hatefully upon his kind-hearted sister?
They feared. They all feared that one day humans and demons won't be afraid anymore to show their feelings for one another. They feared of the hybrid species, hanyou. Especially if someone like Kagome were to mate with a demon. Her miko powers combined with that of a demon's was a force to be reckoned with, or could be the ultimate destruction of mankind…he highly doubted the latter, though.
He smiled at her, which she returned genuinely. `Yes,' He thought, `because if that were to happen, this stupid racist shit would come to an end.' Or so he hoped. He noticed a faint pink glow in her left side but as soon as it came, it was gone. `Guess I was imagining things'

Red eyes eyed the two teens, noticing how they were the only ones left at the school. She could feel it, it was close. `But still undetectable!' Sighing in frustration, a gust of wind formed around the wind demoness as she flew away on her giant feather. Looking behind her as the girl took in the gust of wind blissfully.
`We are getting closer. We just need to find the keeper and demons shall rule these lands again. But we would all be under the control of that, that…thing!' She spat his name out his name, venomously, “Naraku”
