"He will not get here in time to save you!" Kikyou drew back and released the arrow at Kagome's heart, then a red blur jumped into its path and the sound of the arrow hitting metal chimed through the forest.

Inuyasha stood there with a now de-transformed Tetsusaiga in his hand that he had used o block the arrow. It was of no use to for a while now because it was hit with the purifying arrow, but that was just fine with him. Kikyou had hurt his mate and tried to kill her and now the deadly protective instincts of Inuyasha's demon blood wanted to rip her apart with his bare hands for justice. He threw it aside and crouched down, back to Kagome ready to pounce on Kikyou. He couldn't fight it back anymore and truth was he didn't want to, he had had his fill of Kikyou and her hatred and jealousy, she'd gone too far this time. It was to let his demon take over and enjoy the bliss of killing off the threat to his mate, the only person he was worried about Kagome and even if he did transform she would still be safe because she was his mate.

"Kagome don't be scared."

"Inuyasha? W-what are you going to do?"

"Just don't be scared."

Kikyou narrowed her eyes at him.

"What are you planning Inuyasha?"

"Your death bitch"

Inuyasha bowed his head and let his rage take over. The sky seemed to become darker and an eerie wind started to blow, all her instincts were telling Kikyou she should get away from him but pure curiosity kept her in her place. Kagome was concerned, she didn't know what Inuyasha was doing that would cause her to be scared of him but it must be something bad.

Kikyou gasped and froze in shock when Inuyasha snapped his head up to reveal blood red eye with azure slits. His claws and fangs had grown in size and looked as angry as the devil himself and Kikyou looked like she would start screaming bloody murder.

Inuyasha could smell fear coming from the women who had hurt his mate. He smiled but it held no happiness in it just malice, she should be scared nobody hurts his mate, nobody.

He moved so fast Kikyou hardly knew what hit her, she was slammed back into a tree being held up painfully by her neck. She screamed when he threw her half way across the clearing just she her force a groove in the ground with her momentum.

When he turned around and Kagome got a good look at what Kikyou was so scared of and rightfully so, Inuyasha had transformed and he expected her not to be scared!

`He's going to kill her.'

The realization made her even more worried, she couldn't let him. How could she live with herself knowing that Inuyasha had killed Kikyou over her? She had better do something fast, but she was still pinned to the tree and from the look of the fight she didn't want in the middle of it anyway.

Inuyasha was slashing at Kikyou who was trying to use her miko powers to fight him off, her clothes were already ripped and dirty and she looked like she was losing energy fast. Inuyasha was growing tried of this human, he yanked her up by her long black hair that had come down from its tie during the fight, fully prepared to slice and dice her with his claws when the sound of his mate's voice called out to him.

"Inuyasha?"

"Inuyasha please don't kill her! She's learned her lesson let her go!"

He growled low in his throat, he wanted to kill this dead women for hurting his mate, but she had requested that he let her live, and he couldn't deny her when she pleaded with him like that. He pulled Kikyou centimeters away from his face.

"Do not ever touch my mate again or I will kill you, and not even she will be able to save you!"

He threw her to the panting to the ground and walked over to free his mate. Kikyou pulled herself shakily to her feet in time to see Inuyasha pick Kagome up bridal style and take to the trees. She called her soul stealers to her, she needed rest and more souls before she could get that girl, but she would have to do without Inuyasha around he was too dangerous.

Miroku ran into the clearing just when Kikyou was disappearing and assumed Inuyasha had saved Kagome, he went back to the village to see how they were doing.

`And I thought that Kikyou had learned.'

But his thoughts turned happier when he thought of the advice Kagome had gave him on Sango, he would have to try it tonight.
