One Night Leads To A New Future

 

Chapter 3

 

Strength

 

The next morning Kagome woke up to movement. She opened her eyes and covered her mouth to stop any screaming. She had forgotten she asked Inuyasha to stay with her that night and was surprised when she saw him lying next to her with his arms around her waist. He was still sleeping and looked so handsome. She smiled, thankful for all that he'd done that night.

 

She had to think of his offer. She couldn't believe he was willing to do so much for her. Give her a job, a place to stay, protection, and more. Why would he go to so much trouble just because he was attracted to her? Wouldn't that just make more trouble for the both of them, especially since they had already spent the night together? Was there a chance that things would get better?

 

Since their night together she felt...stronger and braver than before. If she hadn't been with him then she probably wouldn't have had the courage to run from Naraku in the first place. She wouldn't be debating whether or not she should return. It was a hard choice. Either stay and complicate Inuyasha's life, risking any wrath from both Naraku and her father. Or stay with Naraku and probably be miserable for the rest of her life.

 

She wouldn't mind staying with Inuyasha. He wasn't the ass she thought he was. He turned out much sweeter. She chose to ignore him most of the time when they first met because of his sour attitude. Now it seemed she was relying him for strength and help. How could she keep taking advantage of him and using him? If she did this now she could never face her problems, she'd be running away.

 

Sitting up she thought she should leave. She can't let herself be a burden on Inuyasha. She needed to face her problems, no matter what the consequences...

 

Just as she was about to put her foot out of the bed she was pulled back into a strong embrace. “Where are you going?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“I was just...” Kagome trailed off. She was hoping he'd be asleep when she left.

 

“Leaving?” Inuyasha asked. “You decided then?”

 

“Hai, I can't let you do this for me. It would be too much of a burden. I need to fight my own problems or I'll never be able to live with myself again.” Kagome said trying to fight the tears that threatened to fall. “I need to be strong and face this.”

 

“You don't have to do this alone.” Inuyasha said. He moved so he was straddling her waist, leaning an inch above her face.

 

“What?” Kagome asked, shocked.

 

“You don't have to do this alone.” He repeated. “I'll be there for you. It's not a burden. I'm the one who offered you all of this. It's not a burden. I don't want you to go back to him.”

 

“Why? Why all this for me?” Kagome asked. A solitary tear fell from her eye.

 

“The other night wasn't just a one night thing for me. I want more from you, I want all of you.” Inuyasha leaned down and gently kissed her.

 

Kagome automatically closed her eyes as soon as their lips touched. She didn't realize his feelings ran that deep. The tears that threatened to fall finally fell. She pulled back from the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in his chest. The same, she felt the same. The other night wasn't just a fling to her and she was glad he felt the same.

 

“Kagome.” Inuyasha whispered. “Now you understand?”

 

Kagome nodded into his chest and pulled back to look at him. “Gomen ne, I got your shirt wet.” She laughed.

 

“Keh, like I don't have more. It'll wash.” Inuyasha said. “So what are you going to do now?”

 

“I guess...I'll stay with you...” Kagome said. “I didn't really want to go back. I just don't want to cause any trouble.”

 

“You won't be. I told you that.” Inuyasha said. He sat up, but continued to straddle her waist. He pulled the oversized t-shirt she was wearing down over her revealed stomach. “I guess we should go get you some clothes then. Probably some breakfast too.”

 

Kagome blushed and nodded she sat up after Inuyasha got off of her and looked down at what she was wearing. “I don't think I can leave the house with just boxers and a shirt.” She said.

 

Inuyasha laughed before going to his closet. He pulled out a pair of khaki drawstring pants and a white tank top. “This is all I have that would stay on you. It should last until we find you something to wear.” He handed them to her.

 

“Arigato. If I didn't have to run out like I did I could've at least grabbed my purse...” Kagome sighed.

 

“It doesn't matter. Just think of it as a gift.” Inuyasha grabbed something for himself to wear.

 

“Still...” Kagome stopped when she saw the look on Inuyasha's face. She sighed and began to walk out of the room. “I'll be in the bathroom then.”

 

After the two were dressed and Inuyasha had his moment of laughter because of her clothes they went outside. It was such a nice day they decided to walk. Inuyasha was still chuckling more at her annoyance than her outfit. The khaki pants were way too big even with the drawstring. And the tank top was too big for her and it was form fitting on him.

 

“Will you stop laughing?” Kagome hit his arm. “It's not funny.”

 

“Whatever you say.” Inuyasha said, a hint of a chuckle was still in his voice. “Where do you usually shop?”

 

“No where in particular. Wherever something looks good I guess.” Kagome shrugged her shoulders.

 

“Well we can go in whatever place we see first.” Inuyasha said.

Later that afternoon after buying a few outfits they arrived home with full stomachs. The two had eaten a big lunch after a busy day of shopping. Kagome as usual still felt guilty that he had bought her so many clothes and bought her lunch. She kept insisting she do something to repay him but he would hear of no such thing. They were arguing about it even as they walked into the living room.

 

Inuyasha set the bags down next to the couch and let himself fall exhausted from all the walking and shopping. “Inuyasha you have to let me do something.” Kagome walked over to the couch and sat on the floor next to his head since he occupied the whole couch. “Onegai?”

 

“I already told you no.” Inuyasha rolled over facing away from her. “I'm not going to change my mind.”

 

“Oh your so stubborn.” Kagome stood up and tried turning him to face her. She shrieked when he grabbed her and pulled her down with him.

 

“So are you.” Inuyasha smirked. He leaned down and gently pressed his lips against hers.

 

Kagome responded and leaned into him. She was just about to let herself melt into his warmth until she remembered something. Roughly she pushed him off the couch and sat up. “What the hell was that for?” Inuyasha asked. He was just getting into the kiss.

 

“My mother's necklace!” Kagome suddenly stood.

 

“What?” Inuyasha asked. He stood up and put a hand on her shoulder.

 

“Before Okaa-san passed away she gave me a necklace. It's the only thing I have left of her. It's in the apartment in my jewelry box...” Kagome trailed off. “I have to get that necklace.”

 

“You're going back there?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“I have to get that necklace. It's precious to me.” Kagome's hand fisted on her chest where the necklace usually was.

 

“Alright, alright. We'll go get the damn necklace!” Inuyasha said. “If it means that much to you.”

 

“Really? Can we go now? Naraku is at work!” Kagome said.

 

“Grab your coat.” Inuyasha sighed.

They drove to the apartment building and Inuyasha parked in the front. Inuyasha stepped out of the car to join Kagome on the sidewalk just in time to miss a car rear end him. “What the fuck?” Inuyasha yelled. He walked up to the driver and began yelling at him for hitting the car.

 

Kagome rolled her eyes and walked into the building. She grabbed a spare key from the manager and continued her way to her `old' apartment. She unlocked the door and went straight to the bedroom to quickly grab the necklace. It was very precious to her. A pearl shaped necklace on a rosary chain. It was very beautiful.

 

She went to the jewelry box to get the necklace only to find that it wasn't there. She turned around when she heard a door slam. She gasped and backed up against the dresser. “Naraku.” She said.

 

“I figured you'd come back for this.” Naraku held up her mother's necklace.

 

“Give it to me.” Kagome said boldly.

 

“And why should I? You're the one that chose to leave.” Naraku stepped closer towards her.

 

“I'm leaving and not coming back. You can tell my father that I'm through. His threats mean nothing to me now.” Kagome said.

 

Naraku chuckled. “You'll be helpless if you leave. You know his terms. Marry me or lose everything. If you come back now I'll be willing to forget this matter. I won't even mention it to your father.” He said.

 

“I won't.” Kagome narrowed her eyes at him.

 

Naraku turned angry and grabbed her arm. He brutally threw her against the opposite wall. She hit the wall hard and fell to the ground in pain. “Then I'll make you stay.” Naraku said. He dropped the necklace to the floor and put his foot over it.

 

“No!” Kagome shouted and reached for it.

 

“Too late.” Naraku stepped on it, shattering the fragile pearl shaped necklace.

 

Tears ran down Kagome's cheeks as she watched it shatter. The tiny pieces glittered as it broke under his foot. She stood up only to be slapped and knocked down on onto the floor once again. “I hate you!” She shouted. She wasn't crying because of the pain. She was crying for the loss of the only thing her mother had left her.

 

Naraku just smiled before grabbing her wrists and pulling her up to face him. “Your mine and I'm not letting go.” He said before forcefully pressing his lips against hers.

 

“Think again bastard.” Inuyasha had walked in on the scene and grew angry. Tears streaked Kagome's face and the fucker was forcefully kissing her. Without wasting another second he pulled Kagome away from him and punched him.

 

Naraku landed on the bed holding his jaw. “What the hell are you doing here Inuyasha?” He asked.

 

“I'm the one Kagome's leaving you for!” Inuyasha said. He picked Kagome up bridal style. “Don't you ever touch her again!” With one last glare of warning he left the apartment.

 

Inuyasha kept his arms wrapped around Kagome the whole way from the car to his place. His car wasn't too damaged so he was still able to drive it home. Kagome was a little shaky though. Once they got to his floor they walked straight to the bedroom. He sat down on the bed next to her and grabbed her hand.

 

“Are you alright? You seem a bit shaky.” Inuyasha said.

 

“I'm fine. Thanks for coming.” Kagome smiled.

 

“What happened?” He asked and wrapped an arm around her.

 

“He broke the necklace. The only thing I had left of my mother and he broke it.” Kagome said as she wiped a couple tears from her eyes. “I finally told him that I wasn't his and wasn't going to be. I finally had the strength to go against my father. I just need to do it in person now.”

 

“Everything will be fine now.” Inuyasha smiled, happy that she was able to do what she needed.

 

Kagome sat up straight and looked him in the eyes. “I couldn't have done it without you.” She smiled. She leaned forward to kiss him on the lips in thanks.

 

Inuyasha missed her kiss. It was an ache that pained him for the longest time. His hand reached out to grab the back of her neck to press their lips together more. Within seconds the kiss that was meant to be a thanks ended up turning passionate. Each of them both felt a craving to touch each other, ever since their first night together.

 

Slowly Inuyasha pushed her gently on the bed and crawled on top of her, one of his knees between her legs. He began to pull up her dress to gently caress her thigh. Kagome moaned lightly as his tongue entered her mouth, tasting her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer for a deeper kiss.

 

Inuyasha moaned when Kagome's leg brushed against him. He pulled back and looked at her in shock. He'd never expected her to be so bold. “You sure?” He asked.

 

To answer his question Kagome took advantage of his shock to reverse their positions so that she was straddling his hips. She smiled before leaning down and kissing him. She bit his lower lip, slowly pulling back before smiling seductively at him. She giggled at the shocked look on his face.

 

Inuyasha was shocked. When she pulled on his bottom lip, he'd never seen anything so erotic. His mind was in a haze. Never had he imaged Kagome to be such a vixen. She looked so composed, modest, and down to earth. Just seconds ago she flipped him over so she could straddle his hips. He'd never been so turned on in his life.

 

Kagome shrieked when he suddenly flipped her over and leaned above her as before, one knee resting between her legs. Without hesitating at all he kissed her hard. His tongue invaded her mouth, demanding for the sweet taste that was Kagome's and Kagome's alone. He would never tire of her taste. Even though they were only together once he grew addicted to her taste and had been dying ever since to be able to indulge.

 

The both parted for the air they so desperately needed. Inuyasha used their separation to rid each other of their clothing. He grabbed the bottom of his shirt and quickly pulled it over his head throwing it somewhere behind him. He grabbed Kagome's arm to effortlessly pull her into a sitting position so he could strip her of her dress and underwear. Finally he removed the last of his clothing and threw it behind him.

 

Once again their lips met as Inuyasha pushed her onto the bed. His hand trailed from up her thigh to the bottom of her breast, teasing her a bit before finally cupping it in his palm, causing her to moan loudly. He smirked arrogantly knowing he was the only one to make her react this way.

 

Then he trailed wet kisses down from her lips to her neglected breast. He lightly blew on her nipple before enveloping his mouth around her breast. He lightly sucked on her nice firm breast while using his tongue to tease her fair skin. Kagome moaned and arched her back, her hands kneading through his hair to keep him close.

 

After a while he switched breasts, kneading with one hand while gently sucking on the other. His free hand went to the center of her legs and he gently slipped a finger inside of her, causing her to buck her hips and whimper in want and pleasure. He decided to tease her some more and slipped two more fingers inside, creating a gentle and insanely slow pace.

 

Kagome whimpered in both frustration and pleasure. She didn't want him to stop but she wanted him now, not simple but frustrating pleasure. She roughly pulled at his hair bringing him closer to her so she could kiss him demandingly. Inuyasha was surprised but enjoyed it all the same. Her sudden stroke of dominance only made him harder.

 

Seeing as how he wasn't getting the hint of her impatience she reached out for him and wrapped her hand around his member. Inuyasha shuddered at the pleasure while releasing a low moan. He grabbed her hand and slammed it on the bed near her head, intertwining their fingers. He guided himself to her entrance and quickly entered her.

 

Pleasure and ecstasy for the both of them unlike last time when there was pain for Kagome. This time would be better because there were no hesitations, no lowered inhibitions, no fiancé's to worry about, only each other and the incredible warmth and pleasure that enveloped them, shutting out anything other than the incredible bliss they felt.

 

In no time at all their bodies became slick with sweat from the friction and heat their bodies created. Inuyasha let passion drive him, making him thrust inside of her quickly. They were both wanting each other and were finally able to indulge. They were both moving together, Kagome's legs wrapped around his waist while she kissed and licked his neck.

 

As they were coming close to their peaks their lips met again in a forceful kiss. Inuyasha could already feel her muscles tighten around him and he felt himself slipping away from the edge and into heaven. He quickened his pace even more wanting to feel that pleasurable warmth he had once enjoyed before.

 

Kagome couldn't hang on any longer. She finally screamed out in pleasure. With another quick thrust Inuyasha released and joined her. He rested his head in the crook of her neck while trying to regain his composure. They were both taking in deep breaths, trying to get the air they so desperately needed.

 

After a while Kagome finally regained her composure and stopped trembling in pleasure. Inuyasha reversed their positions so he wouldn't crush her with his weight. He pulled the blanket on top of them and lazily smiled. Kagome sighed in content and laid her head in the crook of his neck.

 

“I hope you know we're not done yet.” Inuyasha whispered arrogantly in her ear.
