Chapter 5-Meeting
seemed to be no way out. Unless
A very, very hard thing to do. In fact most miko's would die under the strain. If she did this and the demon managed to find her or she tried and failed, either way she be so out of energy she'd have no chance of getting out of it.
weren't looking her way. She could either stay and get killed or leave and maybe get killed. Like with the fire she saw, she decided to give herself the better option.

Teleport. Come on. Teleport. Rin felt a ripple. She could make it, as long as the demon didn't get to her first.
there.
strange, sucking feeling engulfed her. Like different pieces of her was being pulled, or drawn somewhere. Like her arm was ripping to the east, her legs to the west. she felt like she was being torn apart from the inside.
it couldn't be just anywhere. It had to be in one place, just one. She had to go to Sesshoumaru's Palace of the West.
was certain she knew almost where it was. Almost. Chouwa told her once how to teleport.

"If, young Rin, you ever wish to teleport somewhere you must first do one thing."
paused.
you sure you wish to know? It could be quite dangerous, teleporting."
nodded her head fervently.
well. To teleport, you must always have a clear picture of the place in your head. It must be very fermiliar though. If not, you might be teleporting yourself into a brick wall!" The aged miko gave a rare smile. "But that's not all. There must be something there that you once touched."
cocked her head slightly.

when you teleport you move your soul and body at different times. Your soul shall be ripping from your physical body in the place you want to go. But your body will move in different directions. You must have something that your physical body has touched as a draw point to summon your soul and flesh to one place."

Rin focused on a picture.
was her room as she remembered it.
walls were plain white and the floors were simple sanded wood.
had many windows decorating the sides of the wall and different types of flowers of the sills.
had a simple wardrobe in the left corner, also adorned with leaves and flowers of all colors and shapes.
futon was, again, simple with just white sheets and blankets, placed in the center of the room.
from her futon and dresser, the only other furniture in the room was a desk and chair. The desk had markings etched into it with a pointed rock and the chair had a wobbling leg.
was also a bookshelf in her room, filled with rather difficult scrolls and parchment, which Sesshoumaru insisted that she have, for use in her later years.
remembered a shelf also, that was put up just before she left to patrol for the final time. She had placed her most valued possessions on it; a brush, some various flowers, a necklace, a mirror and the kimono that she first met Sesshoumaru in.
just as she remembered the final detail of her room everything stilled.
was real.
had moved. She was in her room, with everything in the exact order that she left it. It was as if she had never left. There were signs of the room and its contents aging eleven years and changing. The flowers that had decorated her mostly bare room had died and shriveled, most crumbled into dust. The top of her shelf was dusty, but none of the items on it were. In fact, everything but her kimono seemed cleaned and sparkling.
wasn't a speck of dust to be seen, nor any signs of wear in her room, besides the flowers. But most of everything seemed in place. Indeed, even the sheets of her futon had not been moved since!
everything not been cleaned, Rin would have believed her old room had been neglected totally. But whoever did clean it, took great care and precision to keep it the way she left it.
back to reality, Rin thought of who may be already waiting in his study.
would he be happy?
the first time Rin thought of how Sesshoumaru himself might feel of the situation.
had placed her in the village for a reason, and he didn't say that he wanted her coming back.
then the worst kind of thought struck her.
if he didn't? What if he had a...mate. Had she come back to the thing she loved the most, to find that her presence was a nuisance? That she had come back only to find that Sesshoumaru may have a mate, pups and had completely forgotten of Rin? Or worse, that he remembered her, and hated her. That he abandoned her at that fisherman's village, only to get rid of her?
sighed, wiping the thoughts from her head momentarily.
really couldn't be true. There would be word that the Lord of the West had taken mate. Besides, if Sesshoumaru hated something, he killed it. He didn't leave it there to irk him with it's presence forever.

an exception in this rule was found in Sesshoumaru's own brother, Inuyasha. Sesshoumaru hated his half-blooded brother like a disease. In fact the only reason why he probably still lived was because of his sword. Tetsusaiga, the Fang. Had that sword not been there to save Inuyasha's life repeatedly, then there would be nothing to bother Sesshoumaru. At least that's what she heard from Jaken. And he wasn't a very good messenger.

had nearly forgotten about the green little toad. Was he still alive?
The annoying demon would never die without Sesshoumaru. In fact, Jaken was so attached to his master, that he probably was starting to literally grow on him.
Ah-Un! Rin had to see her childhood pet right away.
of nothing but the two-headed mount, Rin rushed down the familiar stairwell that led to Ah-Un's rather large pen.
burst open the doors and flew in crying "Ah-Un! Ah-Un!" Rin heard the dragon's distinct snort toward a corner of the massive pen.
let out something that sounded oddly like a whinny and raced to meet his former master before she got to him.
face-to-face-to-face with the mount, Rin threw her arms around it's necks, placing a kiss on both Ah and Un's heads. "Do you remember me? Oh, I didn't realize how much I much I missed you! Oh!" Rin continued to squeal about how much she missed him when she heard a squawk by the gate.
ningen! What are doing in the great Sesshoumaru's land! Leave or I will incinerate you."
nearly laughed at Jaken's show of self-importance. He was puffed up and standing on his toes in order to make himself taller. She would have, if Jaken didn't looked mangaled. She decided not to question this. Instead she acted shocked.
you don't know me! I'm appalled!" 'Appalled' was one of Jaken's favorite words. "To think after the years we spent together you don't recognize poor Rin!"
was momentarily taken aback. Then he burst out in rage. "How dare you attempt to call yourself Rin! Rin was a little girl! She-"
grew up."
seemed a little speechless. Rin groaned. Not wanting to take the time to explain to the insipid demon how people actually aged, she strode past him and walked into the grounds.
for ignoring him Jaken, squawked and ran after her. So Rin ran too.
losing the short-legged toad in the dead hedge labyrinth she knew so well, Rin slowed to a halt.
silently congradulated her self, until she felt the presence of a demon quickly moving behind her.
same demon as before.
quickly drew her sword and turned around, only to see that the demon had already reached her.
dropped Mikomi.

End Chapter Five: Meeting
HA!! I said I couldn't promise I wouldn't do it again.
than you think? I bet so.
promise, though, I won't make the next a cliffie. Sess will meet Rin as an adult and Rin will meet Sess. Fair deal?
think so.
that's all that matters.
there.
Rin wasn't tired after the trip. More of that later.
