InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Riches to Rags ❯ Chapter Four ( Chapter 4 )
Kaede was back at her own hut with the next choice. They found Kagome sweeping outside. Kagome had her cloak back on, but underneath was the new green kimono that Kaede gave her.
"Hello Kaede, I was just cleaning as a way for a thank you for everything that you are doing for me."
"You are to kind lass," Kaede smiled at her and introduced the next person that could bear her a room, "This is Koga."
Kagome finally noticed the man. He appeared to be a wolf demon. He, like Miroku, was tan and had a rugged, toned body. He had his chocolate colored hair pulled into a high pony tail and had a tail of his own the same color. His sky-blue eyes were staring into her eyes. Kagome looked away, diverting the attention.
"Hello, I'm Kagome," Kagome smiled at Koga.
"Kaede didn't tell me of your beauty, Kagome."
Kagome blushed and turned her eyes away from his face again. I hope he isn't as lecherous as Miroku. His seemed to follow her though. Kaede noticed the nervousness in Kagome's eyes and tried to help break the ice.
"Koga has a large home also and he said you would be more than welcome to share it with him," Kaede told Kagome.
Koga was about to agree with Kaede when his ears heard running coming closer and closer.
"KOGA!!" Two other wolf demons slide to a stop right in front of Kagome and Koga. "We have found you!"
"Who are you?" Kagome asked. The two demons turned towards the girl.
"I'm Ginta and this is Hakkaku, we are Koga's cousins and who are you?"
"I'm Kagome," She told the two demons. The demons looked at her for a moment.
"Really where are you from?" Ginta asked.
Kagome thought about what she told Kaede last night, "I'm from Smallville."
"Really, we heard about this princess…"
Koga interrupted the small talk, "What are you guys doing here?"
"Well we've been traveling a lot and since we are family and packs stick together. We figured we could live with you until we rest up a bit," explained Hakkaku, "So how about is Koga?"
Koga looked towards the two women, "Sorry Kaede, but my pack is my life and…" He was cut by Kaede.
"Take no heed Koga, blood is thicker then water." Kaede told the young wolf.
Koga looked into Kagome's eyes, "I am truly sorry, my lady, maybe one day we will be together," He ignored her mouth dropping, "Us meeting was fate."
The three wolf demons sped off towards their home. Kaede looked at the poor girl.
"I'm sorry Kaede; I don't mean to be so much trouble."
"Nay child, we still have other choices."
Their attention was diverted when they saw two people walking towards the hut. Kagome saw a young woman. She was shorter then Kagome was and had short, black hair pulled into a high pony tail. She was accompanied by a tall man. His long silver hair trailed behind him. He had markings on his face, a moon and two striped on each side.
"Ahh Kagura, I was just about to visit you," Kaede told the visitors.
"I just couldn't wait another instant, I have wonderful news Kaede!" Kagura's smile widened, "Sesshoumaru and I are having a baby!"
Kagome looked over at Kaede and noticed she was frowning, but the frown disappeared quickly when the couple looked over to Kaede.
"Sesshoumaru, I wish you and your wife all the happiness in the world with the baby."
Kaede, Sesshoumaru, and Kagura went to deep conversation over the how the pregnancy. Kagome excused her self and walked towards the river. The walk wasn't long and before she knew it she was sitting herself down on the bank. Kagome was getting worried, Ginta and Hakkaku have heard of her. What if they come to the village? I can't go back. It's so peaceful here. Kagome leaned back and stared into the cloudy sky.
Meanwhile…………………..
Kaede put on the fake smile she used earlier and waved good-bye to Sesshoumaru and Kagura. Those two were the last hope for Kagome to live in. Now there wouldn't be enough room now with a baby on the way. She was happy for the couple, but now she was out of ideas. Her only choice now was to have Kagome go live with the lecherous Miroku. Even if it is not the best idea in the world. Kaede's eyes traveled over the huts thinking about its occupants. Her eyes brightened up when it came across a large house, Inuyasha's home.

Inuyasha sat inside his dark home, thinking about the girl he rescued. ~~~~~~~He saw her when she first came in while he was hunting. His eyes just wouldn't leave her. And his body wouldn't move from the spot where he was spying on her from. Inuyasha couldn't help, but let a small chuckle come out when she fell off the horse. He immediately cursed himself when her eyes searched the woods for the source of the laugh. His body tensed up when he saw her hug the horse.
Why am I jealous over a horse, who is this girl that makes me feel this way?
His nose was filled with the scent of salt. Was she crying? The strange girl continued walking and sobs filled the ears into Inuyasha's ears. He wanted to reach out to her, but his body refused to move. He sat there in awe when her body turned towards him. She is beautiful… He got the strength to continue to follow her from tree top to tree top. She had stopped crying, but the scent still lingered in the air. He heard her stomach growl and then her scream followed. He looked around searching for a demon or someone that was after her, but saw nothing. She began to run, and Inuyasha chased after her. His eyes widen he saw her collapse onto the forest ground. He hopped down from his hiding spot and landed in front of the girl. He lifted up her hand to feel for a pulse. He sighed with relief when he felt the gentle beat of her heart. He lifted her body into his strong arms. Her scent filled his nostrils. She smells heavenly. He looked over her face. She was pale and her black hair complemented it. He began to run with her body pressed against him. Kaede will know what to do. Her hut came into view and called out to Kaede. Kaede ran out of the hut and waited for Inuyasha. She instructed him to lay her down on the cot. He stared down at the sleeping girl letting his claws trace the out line of her face. And with her safe, he let Kaede take over, returning to his home. ~~~~~
His thoughts of the girl ended when a knock came from the door. He growled to himself as he lifted himself from the chair. He saw Kaede.
"Yeah, what do you want you old hag?" Inuyasha said greeting his guest.
Kaede sighed, knowing that this was going to be hard convincing him to take Kagome into his house.
"Inuyasha, about the girl…."
I don't remember smelling blood on her…Is she dead!
"Is she ok?" Inuyasha asked feeling dread build up in his stomach.
"Kagome is fine Inuyasha, but she is a need of a good home." Where is this going? "And you house is plenty big for the two of you."
"NO WAY!"
"Inuyasha you are her last hope, all the other villagers can't take her."
"Miroku doesn't have anyone living with him." Inuyasha stated.
"You seem to forget that Miroku is a lecher, plus your hut is much bigger than Miroku's."
It was true; his hut was one of largest in this area. Thanks to his father he inherited it when his brother, Sesshoumaru married Kagura.
"Inuyasha you brought her to this village."
"What did you want me to let the damn wolves eat her?" Inuyasha was starting to get pissed off.
"Of course not," Kaede said, "Kagome needs you right now."
Inuyasha didn't really want her to live him, but Inuyasha's mind went back to the first time he saw her and remember how his heart sped up and how he hadn't stopped thinking about the girl, Kagome, since then.
Inuyasha sighed, "Fine Kaede, but if it doesn't work out then she leaves."
Kaede smiled and pulled him out of the hut.
"Come then, we have to get her."
