Inuyasha and Kaede walked up the hut just when dusk was settling in.

"Kagome?" Kaede called out into the dark room when she opened up the door. There was no answer and Kagome's cot laid empty. "She must be out; there isn't much we can do." Kaede made her way over to the fire and started to poke at it to get it flaming again. Inuyasha really didn't want to stay and watch her cook so he went for a walk. He would notice when the supper was finished with his sensitive nose.

It wasn't long until his feet touched the sandy bank. The sand was still warm from the rays of the sun. The sun was low in the horizon. Maybe she ran off. Who wants to stay in this one horse town anyways? He ran his hand though his bangs. The sun gleamed off his long, silver hair. He takes a deep breath and breathes in the scent of honey and strawberries. The scent in the forest. His eyes roam the bank looking for the girl. His eyes catch on Kagome. He walks across the sand with the water occasionally brushing his bare feet. He came up to Kagome, she had her eyes closed with her chest softly rising and falling. Her hand lay gently over her stomach. The green kimono fit her body's curves. Inuyasha let a small groan escape his throat. Inuyasha grazed over her face. She looks like an angel. Kagome's eyes slowly opened and saw two amber eyes looking upon her face. Her hand rose from its position on her stomach and reached for his face. *SMACK* Inuyasha fell onto the bank as Kagome sat up.

"What the hell did you do that for, bitch," Inuyasha yelled as he spit the sand out that managed to slip into his mouth.

Kagome climbed the rest of the way onto her feet and rested her palms on her hips.

"Why were starring at me?" Kagome glared ignoring his statement.

It was the first time Inuyasha saw Kagome's eyes. The pale green eyes that held such anger that now bore into his amber eyes.

"I…I wasn't staring," Inuyasha told even though it wasn't the truth. Kagome wasn't listening to his lies, because she was already making her way up the hill towards Kaede's hut. Kagome shivered within her cloak, his eyes still fresh in her memory. Inuyasha still stood in the sand, staring at Kagome. Damn bitch.

By the time Inuyasha pushed back the door that hung there, Kagome was on her second bowl of rice. Kagome's eyes widened. She didn't plan on seeing him again.

"Ah Inuyasha you've decided to join us," Kaede said to the scowling boy. Inu...Inuyasha? He was the one who saved me in the forest. Kagome thought.

Inuyasha slumped down across from Kaede. Kagome looked at him then, her first real look. Inuyasha began to eat the dinner that Kaede had made. His fangs gleamed. Kagome's heart sped up. What is with me? She looked into his eyes again; he had amber eyes that still held a strange trance over her. Kagome shivered again. He had claws, but that didn't faze Kagome. She looked over his clothes. He was wearing loose fitting clothes, but Kagome saw the muscles. He had silver hair, longer then her own hair. On top of his head were ears. Puppy ears. Aww cute. His ear twitched as the fire popped. Kagome couldn't help but let out a little giggle. Inuyasha caught her starring.

"Now look who is starring." Inuyasha told her, his eyes now on her.

Kagome blushed and wondered how long she had been looking at him

"Opps sorry bout that," Kagome said, still with a tint a red on her face.

"Feh."

Kagome's eye went to her lap willing herself to stop studying his features.

"Here child," Kaede said to Kagome as she handed her another bowl of rice. Kagome thanked her. At the castle, the food was of much more quantity. Every food group. But here it is so small. But I could never eat much. I have to be prepared to change. I need to get use to this life. I…

"KAGOME!" Kagome's head shot up from the bowl that she had been munching on.

"Oh sorry, what's wrong?" Kagome asked.

Kaede shook her head, "So ye haven't been listening at all?" Kaede sighed, "I have found ye a home."

"Really?! Thank you so much Kaede!" Kagome's eye glistened with happiness, "With who?"

"Me," Inuyasha said turning towards the girl whose smile now vanished.

"You?" Kagome asked uncertainly.

"Yes Kagome. His home is of perfect size. And all you have to do is clean and occasionally gather food." Kaede said.

Clean? I have never cleaned anything! Wait Maybe I can do this. New life.

Kagome looked over at Inuyasha with his arms crossed over his chest with his eyes closed.

"Is he anything like Miroku?"

Inuyasha's eyes sprang open, "Miroku! I am NOTHING like that pervert."

Kagome sighed. He was her only hope for a home in this village. And he didn't seem that bad. Nothing was holding her back.

She breathed in, "Inuyasha, I'd love to live with you."

"That's wonderful," Kaede smiled, "I have got a surprise for ye two."

Both Kagome and Inuyasha looked at the old women with confusion in their eyes. Kaede looked at the young women first.

"Kagome I have prepared a few more kimonos for ye." Kaede said handing Kagome the outfits.

"Oh Kaede, you have been so kind to me," Kagome hugged the old woman, "I'll thank you some day, just wait."

"It was nothing child," Kaede was very kind hearted and helped many of the unfortunate. "Ye have grown on me."

"And Inuyasha for ye cooperation, I have scrapped together some money to help you out."

Kagome looked at her new clothes. Red, black, and blue kimonos. All the same style as the green one she wore now. Not as elegant as the gowns back at the castle. Stop thinking about that.

Inuyasha looked at the little, velvet purse of coins that lay in his hands. He really didn't need the money. He didn't even mind having Kagome live with him. No one needed to know though. He looked over at Kagome who was still thanking Kaede and looking at the new clothes that Kaede graced her with. Inuyasha let a smirk appear on his face. It won't be so bad being with Kagome.

Authors note: Jeeze I never noticed that the chapters would be so short. On word pad they were like 3-6 pages long but so far on Media minor they are like only 1-2. I'll try to make them longer.
