Kagome woke up to find she was laying next to Inuyasha on his bed. Things had been really tense the last two days. Inuyasha kept Kagome near him, and barely let her out of his sight. She and Kikyo had almost got in a fight, but Kee had shown up and call for Kikyo to go with him. Kagome shuddered; before Kee had left with Kikyo he had clearly warned her not to push her luck.

Inuyasha wrapped his other arm around her waist more securely and licked his mark. “You ok mate?”

“I'm fine.” Kagome said with a smile. “Sleep well?”

Inuyasha nodded as he rubbed her back. “You? I was worried for a second, you wouldn't stop whining.”

“It was just a dream.” Kagome said as she buried her head in his chest. A dream she hoped would never come true. She'd never talk to Kikyo again, and stay far away from her to keep that dream from happening.

Inuyasha just held on to Kagome, knowing she wouldn't want to tell him. She had seemed so upset the other day when she had come back she, he had later found out, didn't even get all the way to where Sango was down at the far end of the field. He sighed as he looked back at the alarm clock on his night stand. “Come on Kagome we have to start the day.” Inuyasha whispered almost apologetically. He didn't want Kagome to have to go through this, but he couldn't just let her off the hook. He'd gladly pick up and leave with her, but he had no where to go, and even if she was untrained he couldn't buy her, Kee would jump up the price to make sure his top trainer didn't leave, as long as it was in his power.

Kagome nodded as she moved away from him and stretched. Inuyasha sat up as he watched her, taking in every thing the curve of her breasts, and her hips that were shown off do to the underwear she was wearing under one of his big T-shirts. She had gotten a two new outfits, not that she was pleased with either of them. Inuyasha had picked out her P.J's that she was currently in, and another that she had almost attacked him for. It was a pair of red pants that hung very low on her hips, though that wasn't what she was mad about, she kissed him for those, but the white bikini top was too much to hope for on Inuyasha's part. One drop of water and it was nearly see-through; she had tested it, though much to Inuyasha's disappointment she wasn't wearing it while she did so.

“So what you wearing?” Inuyasha asked with a smirk. Kee now allowed the girls to wear any outfit they wanted. Inuyasha had brought it up at the last meeting. The trainers could also tell the girls what to wear. This, Kee said, was mostly for their entertainment, seeing as they had just got a new shipment of clothing.

“I really don't like you.” Kagome hissed at him as she grabbed the pair of pants and the top. “This is just cruel.”

“I know mate but you'll look so good in it.” Inuyasha said as he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her to him. “And if any of the other guys so much as look at you in a way I see unfit, I'll tare their heart out.”

“It's not the other guys I'm worried about.” Kagome said with a smug grin. “I'm worried about the puppy, who I believe is going to have a hard time keeping his mind on his job.”

Inuyasha nipped the base of her neck before letting her go. “I'll manage.”

~~

Kagome came to a stop panting in front of Inuyasha. “Am I done yet?”

Inuyasha shook his head. “Keep going.”

Kagome nodded and turned and ran down to the other end again to start the course again. She had run the damn thing nine times already. Kagome's energy was wearing thin, Inuyasha knew it too. She'd be lucky if she was able to stand after this one, because god knows she wouldn't stop in the middle, she was too stubborn to do that.

Sango had only run it seven times, and she just couldn't make it to the eighth. Miroku had her laying in the shade near the beginning where he was standing. Most of the other girls didn't make it past four, though they were supposed to do atleast five, and once they had caught their breath for a while were sent on a few laps, that they were currently in the middle of; most of them were walking, but Miroku had said that was allowed after their second lap.

Kagome had made it through and didn't get hit once. Once she reached the end of her tenth one, she looked up at Inuyasha. She was ready to pass out, but she just wouldn't let her knees fall out from under her. “Kee wants us….to do this till we pass…out, huh?” Kagome asked in between panting.

Inuyasha nodded his eyes giving away that he wanted her to just give up. “Yeah, you and Sango.”

Kagome nodded and stood up straight and went to leave, but once she managed to turn around and take a step, she fell roughly landing on her knees.

“You're done Kagome.” Inuyasha said as he picked her up. “Finish up your last lap then do what you want on the field till I, or Miroku, say otherwise! Yes that means you can take a break and sit down!” Inuyasha called out to the other girls.

Inuyasha sat Kagome down under a large tree a few steps from the course before taking out a bottle of water from the bag he had sitting there. Kagome greedily drank the water he put to her lips till he pulled it away. “You'll get sick if you do that.”

Kagome nodded as she looked at the small amount of water that was left in the bottle that was full. “I'm so tired.” Kagome panted as she looked around.

“I'm not surprised.” Inuyasha said as he stood all the way up and looked around at all the other girls who had seemingly passed out all over the field. “You were really pushing it. I wanted to tell you to stop a few times and just give up, but I held my tongue. You wouldn't have listened to me anyway.”

“Wouldn't Kee have been mad?” Kagome asked as she reached over taking the last of the water and slowly drinking it.

“No, he's demon. He would have understood that I was just being protective of my mate. He had only expected you to run the seven that Sango managed to do.” Inuyasha said as he sat down and put Kagome in his lap.

“Oh.” Kagome said as she nodded off, not able to keep her eyes open any longer.
