“Since there's no help, come lets kiss and part;
Nay I have done, you no more of me;
And I am glad, yea, glad with all my heart,
That thus so cleanly myself can free…”
~Three days later~
The morning rose as it always did with the slow stretching of the sun's morning rays against the dew grass and the song of nature stirring from its slumber however this morning other sounds entwined themselves in the lyrics of old.
First was the sound of weeping, low and desolate, completely out of sync with the twittering song of the birds. Second, came the rustling movements as the underbrush echoed the disturbance of its peace. Until finally there was no song left other than the sounds of grunting and skin meeting skin.
This was not suppose to happen. It was never suppose to be this way. Their time together was to be a joining of lost souls. A coupling of broken hearts. Instead the only thing being broken was skin as dull nails dug into the toned back of a thrusting man as he took what he wanted.
***'
Dull eyes stared into the one that had once made her heart flutter and breath catch. The smile that had plagued her dreams contorted into a sneer as it seemed he was fighting to erase her from his mind as he thrust himself deeper into her core.
The tears turned into sobs and then into broken gasps. She had stopped pleading awhile ago. She would have screamed had it been anyone else. But it was him. It was him and with every thrust into her sore, ill-prepared body she felt herself loose him more, slip farther away , and that was worst than the words he called her when her body tried to respond to his actions. It seemed to make him angrier when her body became flush and her nether regions started to lightly coat his path inside her.
She felt him pause when a gasp escaped her and before she could reopen her eyes to look upon him in puzzlement, he pulled out of her and turned her over pushing her roughly into the ground and upon spread her legs began thrusting into her harder.
“Please … Please be gentle...” She whimpered. True she was use to having it rough at times but those were times when she was deeply in the throws of passion .This was different. With his every movement, all of his anger pulsated through his member into her.
“Why should I whore? Isn't this what you are use to? Isn't this how he fucks you? On you hands and knees with his cock deep inside you? Isn't this what you want or did I choose the wrong hole to fuck you with?
%%'
She cried out at his intensity but was silent for what could she say in rebuttal. She had hoped when she followed him this morning that it would have been to resolve things. She had wished that when he took her into his arms that he had forgiven her but she had been mistaken. She had misjudged his anger, the extent of his wrath, and now she was paying for it. This was not the first time Sango had felt the extent the damage her sin had caused. It had been three days since that night in the inn. That night she had went to him with the determination to right the wrong and beg for him to forgive her. However things did not turn out that way.
~~~~~~`
Flashback-Three nights ago at the inn
~~~~~~`
Sango had just finished drying off and redressing when Kagome entered the bathing house.
Sango instantly felt the guilt wash over her as her innocent friend mentioned she had been looking for her awhile now with something important to speak to her about.
`Kagome, so trusting, I don't deserve to know you or to be in your presence. I am a sinner and a betrayer.'
Sango half listened, half berated herself for her lustful affair. She barely felt Kagome urging her down the hall. Her stomach knotted at Kagome's recommendations. Kagome wanted her to go the one she was suppose to be faithful to and surrender her fears in hope of gaining him. Could she do that? Could she start over and never tell him? Could she fall into his arms and forget that he was not her first?
But this would be different. This would be out of love. They could start anew and he would heal her. She would make him happy and amend her ways.
Bolstered by Kagome's words, her heart lifted and she felt her heart lighten as they wound their way to his door.
She didn't feel the penetration of Kagome's eyes as Kagome lingered back from the doorframe and allowed her to finish the journey to his room alone. Ever watching, waiting as a bird of prey; her eyes piercing. Hard and cold as she stood calculating the moment that would break Sango.
`This is the moment that will decide it all. I will let this moment decide if I will continue. I will not be consumed by this. If he withstood this test then I will spare her from anymore and let them settle `this' themselves… I am giving them what they did not give me… a choice. I am allowing them the chance to stop this before I stop this. How far will they let this continue? How long will they try to keep me in the dark while I destroy them? No this is the moment.
This is happening. I am in control. This is what I wanted. I can not forgive, I can not turn back. It is too late to turn back.
The darkness calms me, it clears my thoughts. I don't have to think in the darkness just act. He gave me the darkness. I am stronger than them all. I have always been and yet I always hid it so that they would feel better. He does not ask me to hide it. He pulls it from me. I thought I had lost myself. Lost myself to the anger and pain but I have not. This is just a delay. Soon I will tie up these loose ends and continue my quest. I will repair the jewel and banish Naraku from this plain of existence.
I have not lost myself. I have gained myself back.
I shall be reborn in the ashes of their destruction.
Am I truly falling from grace? I don't care as long as He is there when I land.'
“…Now at the last gasp of love's latest breath,
When his pulse failing, passion speechless lies,
And innocence is closing up his eyes…”
~~~~~`
Kagome continued to watch as Sango paused at the doorframe to Miroku's room. She silently padded forward as Sango got the courage to openly the door with shaky hands.
Her breath paused and her step faltered behind Sango as she took in the scene before her a slow smile spreading across her face as she stepped back, her breathing continuing as she watched Sango's reaction to the scene before them.
Inside the room two people deep in the heat of passion cried out as they closed in on their climaxes. The tavern girl from before half stood half knelt bent over a chair, her left foot in the seat of the chair, her right knee on the floor. Her hair blocked her from noticing her audience as she gripped the floor and chair legs for security as the man above her pushed harder and harder into her. However Miroku noticed. Miroku watched Sango's face contort in an array of emotions as he picked up speed. Their eyes locked and Sango felt slapped and discarded as his dead eyes looked her over in distaste as he latched his hands onto the maid's hips and thrust into her with such aggression the woman beneath him keened out as he forced her orgasm to start and still he fucked her. He fucked her with all the anger he had inside him before finally releasing his climax on the reddened bottom of the poor exhausted woman.
Only then did he let the exhausted female go and sit back on his haunches his gaze on her never wavering. She snapped then jealousy and anger clouding her judgment as she started to rant. “You bastard and you, you little whore get up!”
Shocked and embarrassed by getting caught the maid scrambled to her feet before trying to trying to pass Sango. Sango went to slap her only to have her hand forcible stopped and pulled back, allowing the poor scared girl to escape. Sango gasped as she looked into the furious violet pools of the man that she was once sure she loved.
Kagome watched in awe, silently waiting for their fate to be sealed. Would he confront her or would he just dismiss her and never let her know why?
It was like watching some morbid play and for a brief moment she felt her mind being tugged and her memories try to surface. She felt her anger flare. When would they stop trying? When would they realize that this will not end until she was ready for it to?
Pushing them back from her mind she dispelled the doubts they were trying to feed into her, afraid of her power and what she was becoming.
“How dare you try to touch her...” Miroku's voice chilled the air and caused Sango anger to dissipate and be replaced with befuddlement. He had never treated her in such a way and while inside part of her told her she had not right to be upset at his trespass, his lack of remorse and blatant displeasure with her scared her more.
Miroku seethed as he stared at the one that made him want to retch until his heart came out and this pain ended. He hated her because she was causing him pain. He hated her for bearing the pain she had caused him before he had found out about her affair. He hated her for looking so innocently shocked when she had entered his room and seen then though she had only an half hour if that ago been in a similar embrace.
`How can she look so innocent? How is it that her face still blushes at my contact when she inside is the mother of carnal desire herself?
Yes, he hated her. He hated her because holding her like that in the reflecting light of the candles with her skin flush and her eyes hued on the verge of tears he wanted her.
He still wanted to be with her. Wanted to claim her, wanted to pretend that what he had witnessed never happened.
He brought her to him and when she struggled, slapped her for her piety.
“What is wrong Sango-san? Don't want my filthy hands on your do you or do you just prefer the hands of another…companion of ours better?” His tone stuck fear into her and she turned to see Kagome's innocent wide eyes upon them unsure as what to do.
“Shut the door Kagome…Go ahead and shut the door …it will be ok?” She tried to smile and keep her voice from breaking but if she was right in who he was referring to then there was no way she could lose them both tonight.
Kagome nodded and stepped forward her eyes locking with Miroku who for the first time realized her presence. A look of confusion filled his face as he tried to piece together in his inebriated mind why she had come with her.
He wanted to ask why but Kagome spoke then.
“I'm sure it will all work out as planned…” Her words caused them both to give pause and the sound of the door clicked resounded in the small room with the clarity of a church bell.
Her soft padding as she faded down the hall was all they dared to recognize for the first few moments, both unwilling to confront the situation yet.
But that stillness ended quickly and like a blur the stillness that would have allowed her to catch her thoughts and construct her words escaped her and her turned her around and further into the room.
“And what was the plan Sango? Come to give pity to your poor monk? “He mocked her, taunted her and she took it all. She was willing to bear it all as long as in the end she didn't lose him. He was right. She had been found out and now she would have to face her fear.
He had to forgive her. He had to take her back, to understand that it meant nothing, like his tryst had meant nothing. It had meant nothing right?
End of flashback
Fear choked her words. What had become of her? Never did she feel as dirty and defiled as she did in that moment, that moment when he pushed out of her, his member becoming placid because of his disgust. She felt the tears that could no longer fall try to force themselves out as if to escape the pain the ensconced her.
Miroku could bear himself to look upon her so appalled by his behavior and his reaction to her. He damned himself for not being able to shut her out , for stooping so low as force himself upon her though she did not fight him, simply accepted him. But he did not want her acceptance. He wanted to rid her from his blood.
Just as the silence threatened to choke them both a piercing crash sounded though the forest in the direction of the camp to be followed shortly by Inuyasha's battle cry and Kagome's scream.
The forest seemed to respond as suddenly the area filled with a chilling, clogging mist. Naraku had returned. Their moment faded into the deadly toxin and they were up and dressing in an instant racing back to the camp to help their comrades.
“…Shake hands for ever, cancel all our vows,
And when we meet at any time again,
Be it not seen in either of our brows
That we one jot of former love retain…”
~~~`
Sitting in the darkened room that he had become accustomed to ever since the days of his invalid state, bandaged and broken .He smirked feeling this time he would succeed. He had been watching the group for the last few weeks and had been trying to find out why there had become such an obvious chance in the little miko he would one day taint as he did once before to her undead reincarnation. He had been disheartened at first if it could rightly been state so since long ago Naraku had given up any claim to having a heart. In fact he was pretty sure that it had died long before he met Kikyou. In any case he was starting that someone had beat him to it and Naraku was not a fair loser.
`The miko was mine to taint... Mine to break....' He fumed his hands gripping the armrests as he watched them slumber. The Monk and the Slayer were missing but he didn't care about them anyway. He had waited for a weak moment to attack. Kanna's mirror for some reason could not always lock on their position as she once was. Nevertheless he had found them and immediately sent two of his stronger puppets out to attack them.
He plans had changed. He wanted the miko alive and now. The few times that he had been able to watch her, had made her increase in value to him. He watched the gentle shift in her purity and power. Her powers tainted and yet purifying, changing and warping into something he had to possess. And possess he would.

Kagome felt him before he had even entered the area. She silently awaited his presence thankful for Sesshomaru for being so well rounded in his lessons. She smirked internally as her aura slipped out and blended into campsite before he became to close. She felt for the inhabitants. Inuyasha was there but it seemed Miroku and Sango were missing. She almost frowned at the discovery. After they had left the Inn she had figured all hope for them being together had died, destroyed like her hope to be with Inuyasha. They had not spoken to each other. Miroku would not speak to her and meditated often. She would sense Sango's silent tears with bitter contentment knowing now she did not cry alone. He had yet to come to her to confront Inuyasha but she knew it would not be long before he did. So now to find them missing puzzled her but she did not have time to ponder over it as Naraku's puppets made their entrance.
She was up with a bored expression fixed upon her features much to the annoyance of Naraku.
Inuyasha was up a second after more caught off guard because of the masked Scent Naraku had used to confuse his scent until he was close.
Inuyasha cursed mentally for sleeping on the far side of camp. Kagome could have been hurt with Naraku coming in downwind and masked like that. Only the same arrogant baritone laugh had finally pin-pointed the prickly feeling he had been feeling.
He released his demon fang and bent his knees preparing to leap into a series of brash attacks when he heard Kagome speak giving him pause in mid-crouch...
~~~`
“You really don't realize just how much of a morning person I'm not, do you?' She spoke placidly feeling her power coil around her. She needed to make sure the `He' was watching, waiting. This was their chance it was not the original plan but she could not really hope for better and truthfully she was ready to be over it.
Inuyasha watched in stock as she attacked Naraku.
She never went on the offensive. But there in that moment he not only watched her verbally taunt the equally confused evil Hanyou but all of sudden throw a seemingly small rock only to watch it light up with her holy power and explode near Naraku's first puppet, followed by three more which encased the puppet in a holy orb and as she raised her now empty hand and closed her palm, the orb mimicked and crushed the puppet turning it into ash.
Inuyasha was about to scream at her for her recklessness and then for never telling him that she could that when She raised her hand and silenced him.
“Shut up Inuyasha that was only the first one…”
She didn't get to finish though as tentacles lashed into the campsite and the miasma filled the area in thick, choking amounts.
Yes she had certainly pissed him off now. One thing for sure this one was feeding off his power directly at the wave of power filling the area and second, she mused getting ready to fight as she cried out along with Inuyasha and started defending themselves against the never-ending appendages. She had gotten `His” attention, He knew she was in trouble and He was coming.
For some odd reason Kagome felt a small smile fall into place as the black blood coated the ground.
Sesshomaru did not express emotions. His father had not expressed emotions not even to that ningen he had bedded. Indeed there had never been a reason to do so. While he would never like her he did respect on some small level the fact that she never asked his father to display it. It was an unspoken bond that had formed and he had hated the fact that he would likely never share the same with his father at that time. He realized now that he was too much his father and competition and that his father would have never let his guard down that much. Inuyasha was inferior and thus lovable because there was no fear in being overturned.
He shook his head as he reviewed the last few days. He knew his attachment for the miko was going but he also knew it was not love. Something had changed within her and it called to him. He wanted to dominant her and bend her to his will and as much progress as he felt he had made, he could not help thinking he moved one half step back for every full step.
This thought was cemented when at the charge of her ki and flare of her power hit coupled with the scent of Naraku he was already moving in the direction before he could consciously decide to do so.
The thought caused a frown to mar his perfectly impassive face. He let out a low growl increasing his speed when he realized his was.
The Miko had made him express an emotion.
He smirked inwardly at the thought though as he thought of how he would make her pay for it later.
Right now he needed answers to her sudden show of powers so soon.
That was not according to the plan...
