Chapter 4

My Savior

Kagome was waiting for her to hit the ground. Then all of a sudden she felt strong arms grab her around her waist. She looked up and saw that it was Inuyasha. She was so relieved. She was still scared.

He jumped back on the roof and looked around but Hojo wasn't in sight. He was going to find him and kill him. How dare he even think about hurting what was his? `Hurting what was his?'

He looked at the girl who clung to him. She was shaking and by the smell of salt in the air he knew she was crying. `She's not mine. Yet.'

He wanted to comfort Kagome but he knew people had heard her scream and were going to investigate it. So he told Kagome to hold on and started towards the shrine.

`How could I have been so stupid? I came here to protect Kagome and she almost falls to her death.' While Kagome was waiting for Inuyasha to come he had smelt some disgusting youkai around so he went to go check it out.

He finally made it toward the shrine. Sniffing once he could tell that no one was home. `Good I can get Kagome up to her room without anyone asking questions.'

He walked up the stairs and into her room. He sat down on her bed and readjusted her so she would be more comfortable. He just started rubbing her back in a nice soothing stroke. Before he knew it he had started a low growl. It wasn't a bad growl it was more of a comforting type of growl.

Kagome had started to feel a lot better after hearing the growl. It wasn't that she had been thrown over the roof that scared her it was the thought of who threw roof. She had thought he was a friend but it turns out that he was just after the jewel.

So why hadn't he taken the shards after he knew about them. He had plenty of chances before. He must want something else too. That had to be it.

"Thank you Inuyasha." Kagome mumbled before falling asleep in his lap.

Inuyasha didn't know what to do. Should he lay with her or should he just put her on the bed? He decided that he didn't want Kagome to be mad at him for sleeping with her so he set her on the bed. Well he had tried to but Kagome had a death grip on his hoari.

He just sighed and laid down next to her. He put his arms around her waist and fell asleep.

Kagome awoke in fright. Sitting up she realized it was only a dream. She had dreamt that Inuyasha didn't save her when Hojo had thrown her over the edge.

Suddenly she was pulled back. When her head hit the pillow she turned to see amber eyes.

"Go back to sleep. You've had a rough day." He said still sleepy.

Kagome just nodded closed her eyes. She turned on her side with her back facing Inuyasha. She was just about to go to sleep when she felt Inuyasha put his arms around her waist and brought her closer to him.

Kagome let out a gasp as Inuyasha nuzzled her neck. She was confused and wanted to know what he was doing.

"Inuyasha"

"I said go to sleep Kagome" He then nipped her neck. It didn't hurt her but it had enough pressure to let her know that she had better do what she was told.

Kagome was still getting over the little nip at her neck when she realized what kind of position they were in. She blushed they were in an empty house on her bed with Inuyasha spooning her.

She suddenly felt very sleepy and decided that she would talk to him about it tomorrow.

Inuyasha waited until he knew she was asleep. He knew Kagome was going to ask questions tomorrow but he wasn't going to answer them. She was his and she would know it soon enough.
