Chapter 6

You're Mine

Kagome felt horrible. She felt worse than that. Words couldn't describe how bad she felt. She had a headache and she felt like she had just been hit by a truck. The sunlight wasn't helping at all either. She opened her eyes. That's when she noticed it.

She was in Inuyasha's lap. His head was leaning down, just above her face. She saw his ears twitching. She wanted to touch them. Ever since she had touched them when he was pinned to the tree. She didn't care how bad she felt right now.

She looked around to see if anyone was there. Everyone was gone even Shippo. What happened after she passed out? She looked at Inuyasha and he was still sleeping. She lifted her arm and touched his ear. It twitched between her fingers. She rubbed it and then started to rub the other one too.

She then heard the low growl come from him. It was soothing her headache. He then opened his eyes and smirked at her. She stopped and gasped. Her fingers fell from his ears and rested on her lap.

"It's not nice to molest people while they're sleeping."

Kagome looked away from him. "I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. Your growling was making my head feel better."

He lightly grabbed her chin and kissed her. "I was worried I thought something had happened to you. You just fainted because of the shield you made. Shippo told me what happened."

"What happened after that are Sango, Miroku, and Shippo ok? Did you get hurt? I'll have to dress your…"

She was once again kissing Inuyasha. Except this time she got to respond. Inuyasha took this as a sign and deepened the kiss. Running out of air they broke away from each other's lips.

"Inuyasha? What… umm what's been going on?" She didn't know how to put it together to form a question and that was all she say.

Inuyasha just laughed and gave her a quick peck on the lips. "Your mine Kagome. Not Kouga's, mine. You belong to me and only me whether you like it or not."

"But I thought…"

Inuyasha put a finger to her lips to shut her up. "Don't even say it Kagome. I don't want to hear it. It's in the past and all forgotten. I don't love her anymore. I don't think I ever did. We were just two lonely people looking for acceptance. So don't think about it ever. Understood?"

She just nodded. He didn't love her anymore. But does that means he loves her? He didn't say anything. `I don't want to move too fast. I'm still confused. I'm enjoying what we have now. It's a start.' She thought.

"Come on Sango and Miroku are cooking breakfast in another room." He got up with Kagome in his arms and started toward the door. He didn't trust her walking on her legs just yet.

Sango was just about to send Shippo in to get Kagome and Inuyasha when he walked in with her in his arms. Miroku just looked at the two with his trademark grin. Sango saw the look on his face and threw a bowl at his head.

"Itai, Sango I didn't do anything." He said while rubbing his head.

"It's not what did, but what you were thinking Houshi-sama." She glared at him.

"If you to would just shut the fuck up and serve some food we can hurry up and eat. Then we can be on our way to the village with the shard." He said.

"Be nice Inuyasha we got a shard. Besides we were in a fight with a youkai yesterday. We should all rest up to heal injuries and stuff."

Shippo jumped on her shoulder and felt her forehead. "Kagome you're not sick are you?"

"No I feel fine why? What's with all the looks?" She was starting to get worried. They looked at her like they knew something that she didn't.

"Kagome-chan you were asleep for two days. We are all healed since none of our injuries were that bad." Sango said with concern.

"Oh I didn't know. Is it really getting that bad? I'm still tired even after sleeping for two days."

"Inuyasha maybe it isn't such a good idea to go after this shard. We should head back to Kaede's village and let Kagome-sama rest. If we are to go after Shikon shards we should all be full of energy." Miroku said seriously. As soon as he was done talking he had a dazed look in his eye.

"The lecher is right. We'll leave after we eat, you guys can ride Kirara and I'll take Kagome on my back." Inuyasha stated.

They all looked at Inuyasha. It was weird for him to be so considerate of others. There was a time when he didn't care what was wrong with the others just as long as he could get Shikon shards. He had changed. It was the girl that sat next to him that did it. Kagome was the one he cared for the most in the group.

They were all on the road again. Since they never made it to the place they were going to they were going to make it to Kaede's village early. At the pace they were going they would make it by sunset.

Kagome was on Inuyasha's back with Shippo tucked between her stomach and his back. He was curled up in a ball under her shirt. It seems Shippo had started a new habit.

Sango and Miroku were on a transformed Kirara a little behind Inuyasha.

Suddenly Shippo came up out of Kagome's shirt so that he was still in it but could see Kagome's face.

"What is it Shippo?" Kagome asked him. He looked like he had something to ask her.

"Oka… I mean Kagome are you feeling better?" He asked shyly

Kagome heard the little slip. He was going to call her Okaa-san. "Yes I'm feeling better Shippo. I'm just a little tired that's all."

"Good I was worried when you fainted. Oka… Kagome are you going to go to your time when we get there?" He had a little blush tinting his cheek.

"Shippo if you want to call her Okaa-san then call her that your little slip ups are really noticeable and I'm sure Kagome doesn't mind. She treats you like you were her pup anyway." Inuyasha said he was getting mad at him for not saying it when you could tell he really wanted to.

"It's alright Shippo you can call me that if you want." She smiled at him.

"Really arigato Okaa-san." Shippo hugged her and went back under her shirt and fell asleep almost instantly.

"That was really nice of you Inuyasha."

"Feh, I wasn't being nice I just got tired of his damn stuttering. If you want to do something you should just do it."

"So, does that mean you'll let me rub your ears?" She asked hopefully.

"No, when did I say that?"

"You said if you want to do something you should do it. Besides I'm going to do it whether you like it or not. And I know you like it or you wouldn't have been growling."

"How do you know I like it, huh? I could hate it for all you know."

"But you don't hate it or the growl would be threatening not soothing." She said with a `take that' kind of attitude.

"You wait until I get you alone. You're going to regret being a smart ass." He said in a revengeful voice.

Kagome just tensed. What did he mean by that? She was scared of what he was going to do.

"What are you scared for? I'm not going to hurt you… too much."

"I'm scared because I don't like surprises. I do need to go home though. I need to figure out that whole incident with Hojo." As soon as that name left her mouth she shuddered.

"I'm going with you. I'm not giving him the chance to get the jewel shards."

"We are definitely going to have to go clothes shopping for you. If your going to watch me like a dog… gomen Inuyasha I wasn't thinking when I said that. If you're going to constantly watch me you'll need to dress like the people from my time."

"Feh we'll talk about this later woman." He said ending the discussion.

Kagome just snuggled into his back making sure she wasn't squishing Shippo and went to sleep. He was definitely going to get her back. He needed to go to her time to make sure she was safe.

When they got to the village Kirara transformed and jumped onto Sango's arms for a nap. Miroku had snuck up behind her and groped her.

"Hentai!" She shrieked and slapped him.

"Itai, Sango not so hard"

"Well if you learned to keep your hands to yourself you wouldn't get hit would you?"

"But Sango I am just complementing you. You are too beautiful for me to ignore."

Sango just blushed and walked into the hut.

"That's not going to work Miroku and you know it." Shippo said. He gave Kagome a hug goodbye "Will you bring me a treat Okaa-san?" He gave her his best `I'm so cute you know you want to get me something' kind of look.

"You know I will Shippo." Kagome said hugging him back.

"Yay!" and he ran into the hut.

"Come on Kagome let's go. Hey bouzo we'll be back in a couple of days. Stay out of trouble."

"Hai, hai I'll try." And he to walked into the hut.

Kagome and Inuyasha walked to the well. When they arrived Inuyasha grabbed her and kissed her on the lips. Once again Kagome was caught off guard and gasped. Inuyasha smiled. He loved getting these reactions out of her and he deepened the kiss.

They broke apart gasping for air. Inuyasha then grabbed Kagome by the waist and whispered in her ear "Your mine now and always"

She shivered and before she knew it he had jumped in.
