Chapter 7

Hojo Wants

Kagome and Inuyasha jumped out of the well and into modern time. Kagome went to find her mom. She needed to explain what was going on and if she could get some money to buy Inuyasha some clothes.

"Inuyasha why don't you play video games with Souta, while I talk to Okaa-san."

"Feh" was all he said. When he told Souta he was going to play video games he became hyper. He was running around asking him what kind of game he wanted to play and to tell him about his last battle.

In the kitchen Ms. Higurashi was surprised. "Oh my. I didn't know anything about that. Hojo seemed so nice too. Guess you can't judge a book by its cover."

"No ones heard about it though have they?"

"Well on the news they were asking for information about a girl that was thrown off the school building. I don't think anyone knows but you might want to think of a cover story. Don't tell the news crew or school anything. Not even your friends if you can help it."

"Ok but Inuyasha is going to be staying here while I'm here. It's no safer here than it is in Sengoku Jidai anymore. I'm going to need to buy him some clothes though. And some more supplies."

"Ok dear I'll go to the bank right now and get some money. While I'm gone try and find something he can at least wear to the mall."

"Ok Okaa-san." She got up walked her out the door and called Inuyasha to follow her upstairs to the attic. She started going through trunks and stuff searching for her Otou-san's old clothes.

Inuyasha was just watching Kagome search through a bunch of crap. He didn't see what the whole point of having to dress like the people in this time. Kagome didn't dress like the people in his time.

He wouldn't mind seeing her in a kimono. He would miss the short skirts. That was what he liked about her time. She wore clothes that showed off her shapely legs. `Quit thinking like that you hentai. I'm not Miroku. Besides I haven't even asked her to be my mate yet.'

He was waiting for the right time to ask her. She didn't know anything about being mates. The bond between mates was sacred. He knew it was a lot different than a human mate. Husbands and wives shared a bond but not nearly as strong as the ones mates had.

He didn't even know what to call his and Kagome's relationship. You could say they were mates to be. He would explain it all when they were alone.

"Here Inuyasha I found some clothes that might fit you. It'll at least last you until we buy some new ones. Go to the bathroom and change." Kagome said handing him the clothes.

Inuyasha grabbed the clothes and headed toward the bathroom. He didn't even know how to put them on. He could always ask Kagome if he needed to.

About twenty minutes later Inuyasha was dressed and ready to go. He had on a plain black t-shirt, with faded denim jeans. On his feet were a pair of tennis shoes and on his head was a black baseball cap.

He felt really uncomfortable, especially in the shoes and hat. He had never worn a pair of shoes in his life. He wouldn't wear them if he had a choice. The hat was pressing his ears forcefully on top of his head.

Kagome then went downstairs with some sunglasses as much as she hated to cover up his beautiful amber eyes. She was wearing a blue sundress with white-heeled shoes. Her hair was up in a ponytail. She went up to Inuyasha and gave it to him.

"Oh no you are not putting anymore of your time's crap on me. I draw the line at the hat and shoes." He said backing away from her.

"Fine but only because you look uncomfortable. Does the hat hurt your ears?"

"Hai."

"I'm sorry maybe we can find something else to put on your head that won't hurt."

He nodded and they went to get the money from Kagome's mom. She hugged her goodbye and walked out the door.

They walked to the mall since it wasn't that far and Inuyasha would probably try to destroy the cars. As they were walking Kagome started feeling a little sleepy. She didn't want Inuyasha to know because he would probably make them go back to the shrine.

This would probably one of the few times Inuyasha would let her go out, especially with all the youkai around. He knew they were there. He was close enough that he could sniff them out. None of them seemed threatening enough so he just stayed alert.

They stopped when they walked in the mall. Inuyasha had never seen anything like it. There were so many people and smells. He just looked at everything until Kagome tugged on his hand.

"Come on Inuyasha we need to get you some clothes and more supplies."

He nodded but still looked around. Kagome had to pull him to where they were going because he wasn't paying any attention.

They went into a store with male clothing. They were looking around. Kagome had told him to look for something he'd like to wear. When they had picked out enough clothing she pushed him in a changing room and told him to try them on.

"Kagome-chan it is you."

Kagome looked to the entrance her friends were walking up to her. "Yuka, Eri, Ayumi what are you doing here?"

"We are shopping of course. We saw you come into this store. What are you doing in a men's store?" asked Yuka.

"I'm buying some clothes for a friend." She said while trying to keep her blush down.

"Are you here with Hojo? While you were gone sick the last couple of days he was asking about you he said he was going to stop by your house. He said you blew him off the last time." Ayumi told her.

Before Kagome could say anything Inuyasha ran out of the dressing room with just his pants and hat on. "What the hell did you just say?"

The girls just stared at him. Kagome got up and walked over to him and said," Inuyasha you can't come out here in nothing but some pants on." She just couldn't keep the blush down.

He looked at her and hugged her. "He wasn't here was he? Did your Okaa-san say anything about him coming over?"

She just pulled away from him to look at his face. "Can we talk about this later?"

"Kagome-chan who is that?" asked Eri.

"He's my…"

"I'm her boyfriend that's all you need to know." He then walked back into the dressing room.

"Wow Kagome-chan you caught a cute one."

"Yeah but he's a little possessive and mean."

"Hojo isn't going to like this."

"He's not always like that. It's because I'm always sick. He worries." Kagome said still a little surprised that he even knew what boyfriend means.

"Oh well we better go." Said Eri.

"We'll talk to you at school Kagome-chan. Ja ne.

"Ja ne."

Inuyasha walked out saying that all the clothes fit fine. She paid for them and they left the store. They went into a couple more stores and bought some bandages. They also got Shippo some candy.

"Do you want something to eat Inuyasha?"

"Do they have ramen?"

Kagome giggled. "Yes they have ramen. You sit here while I go get some. Watch the bags."

He watched Kagome walk to the ramen stand. She went to the table with two ramen bowls in her hand. "Here you go Inuyasha."

They ate and threw their garbage away. They were done shopping and started towards the shrine. All of a sudden Kagome felt dizzy. She stopped trying to regain her balance.

"Kagome what's wrong?"

"I feel dizzy and sleepy again."

"What do you mean again? You came here feeling tired didn't you? How do you think your going to get over it if you keep pushing yourself like this?"

"Gomen Inuyasha I didn't think it would be like…" Kagome then collapsed.

Inuyasha dropped the bags and caught her. `Looks like I'll have to carry her home'. He positioned her in an easier way to carry her in his arms with the bags in hand.

He walked back to the shrine with people staring at him. I guess it wasn't every day you see a guy holding a sleeping woman.

When he arrived at the shrine he walked through the front door to her room. He put her on the bed and laid down next to her. No one was home so he didn't have to worry about someone walking in.

He put his arms around her waist and fell into a light sleep.

Kagome was in a dark place. She couldn't see a thing. She could see herself, which was odd.

"How are you doing Kagome?"

Kagome froze she knew that voice. She turned around to see Hojo looking at her.

"What do you want? How do you keep coming in my dreams? What besides the Shikon shards do you want?"

"I'm surprised you know that the Shikon shards aren't the only thing I'm after. I want you Kagome. You are getting more powerful. I know you already knew that."

"Why do you want me?" She said taking a step back.

"Isn't it obvious? Your power is growing. A mate's bond is as strong as the mate's power. If I were to make you my mate I would become more powerful, especially with the Shikon shards you posses. Why do you think I was so persistent in asking you out? Did you think I was some kind of airhead who didn't know when someone was blowing him off?"

Every time Kagome moved back he would take a step toward her. He eventually had her backed up to what she would guess was a wall. Everything was still pitch black. He had moved to where he was directly in front of her.

He then hugged her. She was trying to get out of his embrace. He was too strong. She couldn't get out of it. But that didn't mean that she would stop.

"Quit struggling Kagome. I'll get you. I always get what I want. You should just give into me. You wouldn't want your friends over in Sengoku Jidai to get hurt would you?"

She stopped struggling "How did you know about that?"

"You'll find out soon. I'll be seeing you real soon Kagome."
