Chapter 11

The Punishment

Everyone was awake, everyone but Kagome. She was still lying on her sleeping bag. Inuyasha was sitting next to her.

Sango had already started making breakfast. Shippo was waiting impatiently. Miroku just sat there watching Sango bend over every once in awhile to see if the water was boiling.

Kagome started breathing heavily causing everyone to look at her. They didn't expect to see her floating in the air. Inuyasha ran to her but was thrown back by a shield.

"There is a shield around her. I do not recognize its aura." Said Miroku.

"What is it there for?" Asked Sango.

Kagome then woke up and looked around. The funny thing was she could see every ones faces, which was weird because they were standing and she was lying down. Right? She looked down and saw that she was floating. She squealed and sat up.

"What is going on?" Kagome asked.

"We don't know you started panting and when we looked at you, you were floating." Sango said.

"Can someone get me down?"

"We can't there is a barrier shield surrounding you." Said Miroku.

That was when they saw a little black streak heading towards Kagome. They didn't know what it was. Inuyasha didn't want it going near her so he slashed at it. The streak just flew around his hand and into the barrier.

It flew around Kagome a couple of times before settling on her waist. It then glowed and engulfed her with a black smoke. Kagome then disappeared from view. The smoke finally settled and Kagome was put on the ground. She opened her eyes and looked around.

Once again she fell to the ground. Everyone ran to her. They had no idea what happened. They would have to wait until she woke up. Inuyasha put her in her lap while they waited for the food to get done.

Kagome was in a dark place. She knew where she was.

"What the hell do you want?"

"I was just wondering if you liked my little gift."

"What little gift? You did all that just now? What was it? What will it do?"

"As I told you before you need to be punished. After you wake you will see what the punishment is. I told you last night that you're going to get it twice."

"You can't do that. You have no right to. Besides I'm not a youkai. And I'm not your mate."

"I see you've added a third. You should watch your mouth. I told you that I always know what your doing. So don't disappoint me. Ja ne." Hojo said while walking into the darkness.

"Wait, how do I get this thing off? Come back here. I'm not your mate."

Inuyasha was about to take his ramen bowl from Sango's hand when Kagome jumped out of his lap. He was startled. He didn't expect her to do that so suddenly. Since he was unprepared the ramen spilt in his lap.

He too jumped up. "What the hell did you do for?" He asked glaring at her.

"Gomen" she said quickly and tuned around facing away from the group. She lifted her shirt and pulled down her skirt just enough to see a little mark that looked like a tattoo on her waist on the left side.

She just gasped and put her clothes back in place. She then felt a pain come from the mark. She put her hands over it and bent over slightly. I happened three times. Hojo was right. He could do it. This was her `punishment'.

"What's wrong Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

"It's nothing." She was going to try and hide it. She knew Inuyasha was going to get real mad.

"Don't tell me its nothing. You jump out of my lap and make me spill hot ramen all over myself and then double over in pain. Do you expect me to believe its nothing?"

"No really its nothing. I'm going to go take a bath at the hot spring that's over there." She ran off into the woods.

"How did she know we passed a hot spring?" Asked Miroku. He then watched Inuyasha take off in the direction Kagome had gone.

"She didn't. Besides there is no hot spring over there." Said Shippo.

"How do you know?" asked Sango.

"I can smell it." Shippo said with pride in his voice.

"Oh." They both said at the same time.

Kagome was still running. She knew Inuyasha was going to run after her. She just kept running she didn't know where she was going.

Inuyasha took to the trees. He could see Kagome and knew she wasn't going to stop until she tired herself out.

"Kagome you stop right now and tell me what happened." He yelled.

"Nothing happened."

"Then why are you running?"

"I want to take a dip in the hot spring." She knew he knew there was no hot spring. She just couldn't think of any other excuse.

"You know as well as I do there is no hot spring over there. Stop right now or I'll stop you myself."

"No"

"Fine" He then ran above her. He was going to jump on her to stop her. He pounced on her.

"Get off of me."

"Not until you tell me what happened and what's on your waist."

"Nothing its nothing."

He just looked at her and sat up. Kagome was relieved, until he lifted her shirt a little.

"What are you doing Inuyasha?" She asked while clamping her hand over his.

"We can do this the hard way or the easy way. You choose."

She just looked away form him and tried to move his hand away from the hem of her shirt. He then took both of her hands in one of his hands and put them above her head.

He then lifted up her shirt a little and pulled down her skirt just enough to see the mark.

"What is it? How did it get there?" He asked in a concerned voice.

She couldn't ignore him now he was being caring.

"Hojo." She said in the tiniest voice. Inuyasha could barely hear it. He did hear it though.

"WHAT?" he yelled. "How in the hell did he do that he didn't even come near you? What is it?"

Kagome just turned her head and kept her eyes closed. "He said it was to punish me. He said that for youkai if the female is disobedient then he is supposed to punish me." Kagome's voice started cracking.

"He thought I was the one who sent Kouga after him so he put the mark there to remind me not to disobey him. He kept saying I was his mate. He said he was adding to the punishment because I said I wasn't and never will be."

Inuyasha was stunned. He was pissed. How could he do that to HIS Kagome? He had no right. He could hear Kagome crying.

"Don't worry Kagome I'll find him." `I'll kill him is more like it.' He grabbed her chin gently and made her look at him. He leaned down and kissed her.

Kagome gasped and he took the chance to deepen it. The kiss was gentle. It was like he was trying to reassure her that everything would be ok. They were like that until they ran out of breath. He started kissing her neck.

He was gently nipping on her neck. He was about to bite down so he could claim her when they heard someone clear their throat.

Inuyasha knew it was Miroku who did it. He looked up to see Miroku and Sango standing there with Kagome's pack. He just growled and his eyes flashed red for a second.

Miroku took this as a sign and ran. Inuyasha jumped up and ran after him.

"Bouzo your going to get it." Inuyasha yelled.

"Inuyasha I gomen. I didn't know." Miroku pleaded.

Sango and Kagome just looked at each other. Kagome was blushing. Sango just walked over to her and helped her up.

"Come on Kagome-chan. Shippo told me where the hot spring is we can talk there." Sango said. Kagome nodded and walked with her.

Miroku was sitting down leaning against a tree. Inuyasha beat him pretty badly. They were waiting for the girls to come back. Each of them had gotten a couple of hits to.

After Inuyasha had hit Miroku enough he realized that the girls and Shippo were gone. Inuyasha ran the opposite direction he had gone. He could smell them. He was worried what if someone got them?

Miroku was following close behind him. He was worried to. He was running pretty fast for a guy who had just gotten his ass kicked by an enraged hanyou.

They arrived at the hot spring to see a very naked Kagome and Sango about to step into the hot spring. The girls grabbed their towels and started hitting them screaming.

"Hentai" they both said at the same time.

"We thought you were kidnapped or something honest. Seeing you naked was and absolute blessing." Miroku said.

That just got him more hits from Sango.

"What's your excuse Inuyasha couldn't you smell the hot spring?" Kagome yelled still hitting him.

"Itai I was to worried. You just left ok. Gomen." Inuyasha said.

They both stopped the hitting and told to go wait until they were done. There they were waiting for the pain to go away and the girls to get done. Shippo was with the girls bathing.

Miroku kept muttering something about women and their tempers.

"What was that?" Kagome and Sango said at the same time. They were towering above him.

"Nothing." He said.

"That's what we thought. Sango you didn't beat him that much did you?" Miroku looked a lot worse than Inuyasha.

"No Inuyasha must have done that he looked pretty beat up when they got to the spring." Sango said.

"Oh." Kagome yawned and sat down. She was tired. "So where do we go from here?"
